We decided to grab some quick pizzas as it was a snowy and cold day downtown, and other pizza places are closed on Sunday. (Which we do not understand...who doesn't love pizza on Sundays??) This place offers brick oven pizza and the crust is seasoned and really flavorful. We tried the Bianca and the King pizza. (King has pepperoni, sausage, onions and peppers. We opted for no mushrooms.) this is a thinner soft crust and both pizzas were really good. The "downer" is they do not offer delivery, so we had to grab the pizzas and walk a dozen blocks in the cold before we got back to the apartment. I'm sure it would taste even better when eating fresh at the restaurant. (Not sure where parking would be available so we walked as this is located in the arcade building on Euclid. There is still construction downtown so parking and running inside to grab the pizzas is not really an option.) We will definitely be back!! read more

Stopped by Pizza 216 last night before the Eagles concert. Wanted a pizza and a salad. A great waitress, Erica suggested Lobster tacos. They were amazing! **Vegetarian Friendly** They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. Made it in time for Happy Hour by mistake, and boy were we happy! We practically ordered everything off the HH menu because it was so cheap! I enjoyed the Cheese Pizza, and the Garlic Knots. The Fried Provolone was okay - tasted more like a mozzarella stick. Stopped in to Pizza 216 with a small group the other night. Previous helpers were fans so we had to give it a try. Located inside the Shoppes at the arcade, next to the Hyatt, this has easy access in the downtown area. We ordered a mix of pizzas to share with the group so we could try several different ones. I have a pirogi pie which was exactly what it was (pierogies on a pizza). The king was really good with a mixture of vegetables, pepperoni. They also had a spicy pizza which I thought was the best. Not overly spicy however just enough kick and flavor was really good. They also have a bar area with plenty of drinks selections including local taps. This is a great place for a small group or even a family getaway downtown. I would recommend stopping in and giving them a try. First time here and probably the last. We ordered iced teas and water and they both had a very bad taste. The water had a metal taste to it and the iced teas tasted old and rancid. When we informed our server about it.., she took the drinks to the bar where her and bartender then glared at us while rolling there eyes. The food itself is always delicious, but I was really disappointed with the procedures in place around tipping the staff. I ordered a rather large takeout order online for a company event and left a significant tip for the staff preparing the order for pickup. When I arrived, I asked the person getting the order ready if they had received the tip I left and was told "We don't get those, the owner keeps them." I was taken aback and asked if I could speak to management to ensure the tip went to the staff as I intended and was told "Don't bother, they won't care." Had I been informed upfront that the tip I was providing was actually just going straight into the owner's pocket, I would have brought cash instead and given it directly to the person handing me my order. Shady business practice to say the least! As much as we love the food, I won't order again as I don't agree with supporting business owners that steal from their people or misrepresent where a customer's money is going. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered the buffalo pizza, the King pizza, plain traditional wings and a Caesar salad for takeout tonight. The pizzas were mediocre and the wings were overpriced and underwhelming. $12 for 6 wings that were dry, small and not crispy was ridiculous. The buffalo pizza had too much blue cheese on it and tasted undercooked. The King was the better of the two but was just okay. We were disappointed given the excitement we had at seeing good reviews for the food. The restaurant had good service though but is dimly lit, giving it more of a drunk go to after a night out vibe. This place really exceeded my expectations! We were seated right away, however we asked to be moved because of a draft. No problem, they moved us quickly without a complaint. Next we ordered drinks and food. We got a pizza half pepperoni, half cheese and we got an order of their Italian Nachos... These things were DELICIOUS!!! Pasta fried chips, almost like fried wontons, topped with house made cheese sauce (amazing), pepperoni, sausage, and pepperoncinis. They came out piled high, you could easily feed 3-4 people!! The best part was that after eating half of them, there was still plenty of toppings on the under layers of the chips! No scraping the plate looking for toppings - there's plenty! This pizza is so good, so fresh, and not super greasy. The crust is hardy and the pizza itself is super thin, as if they were trying to be like a NY style but on a smaller scale. The pepperoni was crisp on the edges and has a slight kick too it, which I love in pepperoni! The service was great, too. The server remembered our drinks, kept them filled, and was consistent in stopping by to make sure we were okay without hovering and without us having to flag him down. Opening again in February 2017, Pizza 216 brings brick oven, NY style pizza to The Land. We were craving a 'wood-fire' type pizza on a Friday night and checked to see if Pizza 216 reopened following some bad luck structural problems. My wife and I were so happy to see they were, and man they were packed. We were lucky to get a cozy 2 top and a great tag team of servers that didn't let us go thirsty or hungry. For a pizza place Pizza 216 has a great beer list and small plates menu. We ordered a couple craft beers from the tap list and an order of Brussel sprouts as we settled on the pizza (s). The Brussel sprouts were huge and tasty, perfectly crispy and well seasoned. We couldn't decide on just one pizza so we went with two. A pepperoni with spicy red sauce, and the Bianca with mushrooms on half. The pizzas came out in less than 5 mins, and were perfectly cooked, which is a byproduct of there brick oven cooking style. I was surprised it wasn't more expensive based on how much we ate. read more

There was a lot to like about pizza 216 but I had one glaring issue with my pie here that was hard to overlook. I ordered for delivery the Buffalo chicken pizza and I gotta say the pizza was well topped and delivered on flavor. But they seriously over cooked and charred the crust on my pizza. There's not much worse than the acrid burnt taste taking over the entire outer ring of a great pizza otherwise. Hope to try again with a better outcome. read more

First time in Cleveland. I was in charge of finding somewhere to eat. Brick oven pizza typically can't go wrong. The pictures and the Menu imply this is a little upscale from a bar/pub. So I was visually disappoint, but hopefully the food would uplift me. Services was fine, attentive and polite. We were seated and as i looked on either side of us at the pizzas on the tables. I was worried I had made a bad choice, crusts burnt beyond what would or should be appropriate. But my people were happy to be out of the cold weather so we stayed. We ordered 3 small build your own pizzas and was pleasantly surprised, cooked perfect, not too thin and burnt. great, job. If you looking for a simple brink oven pizza, take the risk. I loved this place- it was in my hotel and we were hungry for lunch- and it was Monday and there wasn't much else open (luckily for me). The Ezzo pizza was delicious- cupped pepperoni and honey and some other stuff that made it super tasty. The peach burrata salad was awesome. Easily one of the best pies in the city in an area challenged to find good pizza. If you like NYC/Brooklyn/New Haven style thin crust (but not Neapolitan thin) then this is the spot. Il Rione also is great. Sauce is great. Nice and fruity the way it should be. You know, actually tasting like a tomato?! They make their sauce from San Marzano tomatoes. Awesome crust and I requested it to be extra charred/crispy. Pro tip...You'll command immediate respect from a pizza chef/cook by asking for a little charring and dark crust. The way it should be! They happily obliged my request with a subtle wink/nod. Elected for fresh mozzarella as well (no upcharge) instead of the shredded/processed stuff. Impressive oven. They also have a very good mostly local craft beer tap list at good prices. The space is a little weird.
