I remember when this location was a Jamba Juice. When visiting family in the Hills, I was a semi-regular there. These days, I come less often, but it is always good to see local businesses thriving. Pizza Bar appears to be one of them. So, when looking for a light meal around 9 pm, we stopped in to see about their pizza. The store was a little disheveled from a long day, but staff was friendly and patient as we figured out what we wanted. Ultimately, we ordered a medium Margherita Pie, and sat down to wait for its construction. A steady flow of people filtered in and out. The music was a pleasant back note. The pie arrived and looked great. Bright reds, whites and greens. Strong aroma. However, the pie was too loaded with cheese to permit the individual slices to be picked up and hand held for eating. Had to use knife and fork - not my preferred way to enjoy a pizza. The cooler it got, the more difficult it was to manage. This is not a serious flaw, but just one that takes a meal from strongly satisfying to one that was a bit frustrating to consume. From the other coast, I know that finding a great pizza can be a challenge in the west. Poor water and lack of balanced ingredients often makes a crisp and enduring tomato pie beyond reach. They use great quality ingredients & you'll taste it after the first bite. I love the fact they sell by the slice. When there's a group of us we can never agree on the toppings on just one pizza. They usually have a selection of 6-7 different ones to choose from. I love their pepperoni. The thin crust is yummy & they'll warm it in the fire brick oven ready to eat... sooooo good! We were charged $28.00 (I thought high) & when I received the transaction receipt I saw it was for an extra large pizza (which when I got home it was an 18" pizza). Ok. I ordered the Margherita pizza, which everyone knows consists of fresh mozzarella, basil, and sauce. This place decided to add Roma tomatoes, whatever, no big deal. However, they deliberately blanketed a thick mound of shredded processed mozzarella on my pizza instead of fresh mozz. I mean I understand they couldn't tell by looking at me that I am a NYC pizza aficionado, but they clearly did think I was too dumb to know the difference between shredded and fresh mozzarella! Let's just say my wife had suggested earlier to get Domino's but I wanted to support local. I should have listened to her. They overworked the dough so it was so tough my jaws actually were sore after just half way through the second piece. The sauce was sweet like canned Prego. We each only ate just enough to ease our hunger and tossed the rest in the trash. We'd thought we would put leftovers in the fridge for the next day's lunch but couldn't imagine how much harder and nastier it would be then. We spent our honeymoon in Laguna. We stumpled across this place as we strolled down PCH looking for a quick bite to eat. The place was pretty packed. There wasn't any tables open so we sat at the bar along the window. It made for some good people watching. The employees were very friendly and upbeat. The slices are HUGE. The Husband ordered the two slice combo ($13 for 2 slices+drink) with basic pepperoni and I ordered the chicken and artichoke slice with salad and a drink (also $13). The salad was ok. It was your standard spring mix with balsamic dressing. I had to pick out some slimy pieces of lettuce and it could have used more dressing but I still ate it. No complaints on the pepperoni pizza. My chicken artichoke slice was good. The chicken was pretty dry but I find that to be an issue at most places with chicken pizza. I think a whole fresh pizza would have been proven to better than ordering by the slice. We also ordered the chicken wings ($10). They were SO good. I should have just ordered the wings. They were meaty, perfectly crispy and smothered in buffalo sauce. I could have made a meal out of those alone! read more

I've been coming here since it opened as Pizza Lounge. They have always had spectacular customer service and delicious pizza, salads and chicken wings. Tonight I had an especially great experience. I had used Yelp's 24eat app to order a pizza, but when I arrived they hadn't received the order and were closing. I apologized and told them I'd thought they were open longer, and that I would take a pre-made slice of pizza to go. Instead, this happened: they apologized for not receiving the order, tried to recover it with their tablet, then opened the kitchen and made me my order on the spot. I got my crispy, perfectly cooked pizza and chicken wings in maybe 10 minutes flat and they didn't make me feel awkward at all. The guys there have always had excellent customer service, but tonight took the cake. read more
