Veg/vegan reviewer: I remember loving the deep dish veg pizza we'd had here 2 years back. But I have given very less stars coz today was a little disappointing- 1. Spinach salad - loved the honey mustard dressing. But I felt it is not worth 14$(DoorDash price) coz it's not so filling. Also if you missed the picture, the bread in the salad had fungi starting on it. I am not sure how a highly rated restaurant could send me food which has gone bad. It's a mistake - but kinda bad! SMH. 2. Canoli was nice - it's cream with ricotta cheese. Tried it - we couldn't love it as our taste buds didn't like the idea of sourness(very little) in the cream. Or, maybe I got another dish which was almost gonna go bad? Also I do remember the restaurant was pleasant with the service and the ambiance when we'd visited 2 years back. We want to thank the staff for hosting a fundraiser night at Pizza Chicago. We had a great turn out. The restaurant was very busy, but our server took the time to go over the menu with us. She suggested ordering a half and half pizza because they all looked so good. She was a great, the food was great. We will definitely be back. read more

Pizza is not something I can have often, so when I do I'm sure to keep it as good of a pizza as I can afford. This spot was recommended by a fellow chicago-style pizza lover, so when the craving struck in my time of need I pulled out this name for the taking. We opted for an online order for a pick-up, which as far as the ordering process goes went pretty smoothly. Conveniently for pickup orders, there's lots of adequate parking in the adjacent lot so it wasn't hard to find something for the quick stop. We ordered a large deep pan pizza (Half & half, Rush Street and Untouchables). The naming system is a bit confusing to my non-native Chicagoan self, but options are spelled out in their menu. Rush Street is their resident meat-lovers and Untouchables is their BBQ Chicken. Now...the deep pan pizza they serve here wasn't quite what I was actually in the mood for (*coughdeepdishcough*), but the quality of the pizza is remarkable and on this front Pizz'A Chicago gets full marks. Extremely doughy & rich with a crisp touch to the bottom and cornmeal sprinkled about, the bottom was basically perfect in texture. Toppings were all very fresh and quite popping in flavor. I also had no issues with any of the meat-y toppings being dry at all (very common problem for things like chicken). The ample thickness of the dough and the high ratio of dough to topping disqualifies it from being deep-dish in my mind though, as it tasted closer to a hybrid of Sicilian and Chicago styles. Tasty, but different. In fairness, this place doesn't describe their pizza as being deep-dish, but Chicago style usually implies deep-dish. That all being said, between the quality flavors and the oozy umami glory of their cheese and sauce, it's really hard to say this is anything short of worthy of their proclaimed title as best in Santa Clara county. I'd certainly believe it! I just wouldn't call it a deep dish pizza, but at least we can debate semantics over an objectively delicious pie. read more

It's amazing, but Pizza Chicago used to be the best pizza in the Silicon Valley 30 years ago, and it still is! I left the area 30 years ago, and I am back, and still living the thick crust pizza made here. I've tried the sausage and mushroom and the combination and both were awesome! Came an hour or so after lunch so there was no wait and got excellent customer service. We just ordered a large pepperoni with half mushrooms, deep Dish. Got our pizza in a timely manner and it was delish! The Chicago decor is really cool to look at even for our little kids, makes for a throw back ambiance feel. Family friendly. read more

Hands down best pizza. I moved to Los Angeles. When ever Im in the Bay Area I come to Pizza Chicago. The fridge is my Favorite.

Food service is always amazing here. 7 mins at most to get your food, been here 4 times and it's average wait time has been around 7-10 mins long. Great vegan and non vegan option. Pizza reminds me of that one breakfast pizza we were fed as kids at school that you always loved. Highly recommend if your not on a spending budget as pies are a bit pricey. If I'm going to be completely honest, I was never a big fan of deep dish pizza. That all changed when I went to Pizz'A Chicago. As a lactose intolerant, I was overjoyed to see that they had a vegan cheese option. I ordered their meatiest pizza with vegan cheese and thought it was some of the best deep dish pizza I'd ever had. We came here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. They have a lot of different pizza options, and you are also welcome to customize. We went with half fridge, half sun, which provided a strong combination of meats and vegetables. The thick crust variation is good, but after eating it, I was curious about the thin crust, so will be back for more next time. They take orders over the phone and have items hot and ready on time. The pesto sauce isn't really stellar but the white sauce is really good and the quality of ingredients was impressive. I loved the extensive options to choose from. The jalapenos, sundried tomatoes, pepperoni, italian sausage, and mushrooms were fresh and great flavor compared to other places, couldn't really tell the difference with the exotic mushrooms but was really amazed that they offered at least 4 types of mushrooms! They put a good amount of cheese as well. Got the crispy deep dish crust, but I'd like to try thin crust and regular to compare. Overall no complaints, everything tasted phenomenal, and perfect to enjoy while watching sports (took it to go). The restaurant had a lot of character as well, great art and memorabilia. Went here on a random weekday not expecting to find the best deep dish pizza I had in the Bay Area! We got the Joliet Jake pizza (their 3 type mushroom pizza). The crust was perfectly crunchy and there was the right amount of sauce. I highly recommend this place specially for vegetarians - there are so many veggie options!! The desert sweetness was good but nothing special compared to the pizza. Their server was enthusiastic and warned us about a little wait for the pizza. My favorite spot for deep dish pizza in the area! They have a classic pizza shop vibe and they also offer bakery items and desserts at the front. They have plenty of seating, even for large parties. I always order deep dish pizzas with custom toppings. It takes around 10 minutes for our pizzas to come out. I also asked for hot honey which they had! The pizzas are super delicious and filling. First, it took a really long time to cook even though they didn't appear busy and seemed adequately staffed. Aside from a few pick-up orders, we were literally their only dine in customers. I have been coming here for 15-20 years and I cannot believe the way the customer service has deteriorated ! I paid about $16 for delivery and called right away because the pizza was incredibly Undercooked- I was told sorry we can't deliver but we can make you another one. As soon as I hand it over, the gentleman gets super angry and loud that its too old, he doesn't accept it, he has a new gift card system!! We were being very calm and cool and he was shouting at us for reasons I cannot understand. Paid in full and left, bewildered. In CA it is illegal for gift cards to expire. It pains me to write this review because my husband and I have been going to Pizz'A Chicago for 3 years, since we moved here. I loved the guy who worked the counter (he doesn't work there anymore) and the fact that my husband could get a deep dish and me a gluten free. It was the best GF crust around. In the last year, the quality has completely declined, as well as the quality of service. Tonight is our last time eating here. We placed an online order for pickup. When we got home, one of our pizza's was made with the wrong sauce and toppings. We called and there was much confusion. We were not offered a replacement correct pie and so my husband asked if they would replace it. There was again confusion and the person on the phone said "We don't know what you ordered so we can remake it." We read the order to them and said we would be back in 20 minutes. They asked for the wrong pizza back, which didn't matter given we weren't going to eat it, but no I wasn't going to do that because it is fully against health code rules. Made me wonder how much food from people's homes they were passing back across the counter. Instead, I had a photo. When I arrived, for a second time, to get the correct pizza, there was more confusion and they didn't seem to even know what was wrong. Red sauce instead of pesto and some sort of sprinkled cheese when it said no cheese seems super clear to me, but it wasn't to the people behind the counter. The pizza wasn't ready and I waited 10 or so extra minutes for it. The apology for this was minimal and nothing was offered to remedy the mistake and the two trips to the restaurant. When I got home, the pizza had barely any pesto sauce, the toppings were lacking compared to the usual pizzas we get there, and the pizza (and toppings) were fully burned. (Ironic, since I was standing there waiting for forever.) It was my fault for not checking closer when I was there, but it represents the lack of care about quality. To me, when a mistake is made, it pays to treat regular customers extra kind and make a stellar replacement pizza. For a $30 pie, it's just disappointing and unacceptable. We had the deep dish "2 thumbs" add pepperoni and sausage, and an XL thin crust pepperoni, buffalo wings which had their own little twist, and jalapeño poppers that were perfectly seasoned and found one that came straight from Hades.
