FV Pizza D'z I'm here for the homey Italian vibes, big portions and fan favorites on the menu items. While the photos have admittedly swooned me my experience may have been tainted because this simply a must dine-in experience. I couldn't miss out on their 30%off a large pizza (though in the comments I asked for a medium/ I just wanted the deal) That said I scored with some lenience and gave your pizza a 4 . So how did it taste? - There's a an art to a good pizza. The two prominent components that are always up for debate us the pizza sauce and the dough. That said, the pizza was flimsy. Well cooked but just lacked the texture I'm hoping for from a slice when I order thin crust. The tomato sauce was robust, vibrant in color and flavor with a hint of garlic sweetness on the tail end. Def one of my favorite notes of the evening. The pepperoni and pineapples were a chefs kiss as the pineapples were not too hot and the pepperoni left you asking for more toppings. So it's a biased 4 Star for me. If the pizza wasn't flimsy and have a few more toppings I'd score higher. What I will say is I am looking forward to my next dining experience with FZ Pizza Dz's

Their giant slice pizza is almost as big as filling as the medium size pizza at other places. Great portion and great value. You can taste the real tomato sauce in it and the pepperoni are well spread amond the pizza slice. Service was enough as I only ordered take-out.

Excellent Pizza Joint! Friendly spot that's in the no-man's land between FV and SA and HB... so took me a while to discover. You'll know when you come. Recommend highly the epically Large Slizzze for 8 $ or the amazing-level Banh Mi. Split-able if you're that nice :))

    Amazing calzones!

Fountain Valley pizza Dz has one of my favorite dough in town! Their calzones and the giant pizzas are top notch. The service is great , the ambiance is bright and love the tables and comfortable seatings. Management and staff are great. Highly recommended !

    Prosciutto salad and Antipasto Salad

Came here for dinner, they came out with these two items and let's me tell you.... this is good! You guys must try it! I got the prosciutto salad and antipasto salad for some late afternoon snack and mind you, this is refreshing, will definitively come back. The owner Tien and Lucas were super sweet too, and their staffs are very attentive.

Fun pizza experience! Edison was a such an attentive waiter. He was engaging and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. His appetizer suggestion was spot on with the yummy mozzarella sticks. Pizza was gourmet, loved the lemon pepper wings and the fried onion hit nicely with the strong onion flavor. I'd say the onion was al dente, because of the spiciness of the onion when it's not completely cooked. Old school vibes with the Pac-Man machine. Nostalgic feels from the good o'days of the 90's / earlier even. :) Loved the vibes of this place. Would definitely come back. 10/10 recommend.

Came for a late Sunday lunch. We were seated right away. My daughter & I shared fried artichoke hearts & shrimp Alfredo on penne pasta. The Alfredo sauce was delicious and smooth. Lots of shrimp was on the pasta too Server was prompt & attentive. Will come back with whole family

Well we had several items in our group. 4 wonderful types of pizza Hawaiian Pepperoni Pepperoni b jalapeño Sausage We had fried zucchini and a blooming onion, Plus spinach lasagna and house salads with homemade ranch dressing and Italian dressings! And with the fried zucchini it also came with marinara sauce that also was delicious. Our server was very busy taking excellent care of our group of over 15. She even brought out pepperonis for our meal. It was really bright and appealing.

Came to try the new to us FV Pizza Dz. We are a family of 3 and love Italian food. Been here when was D-oro,now we highly recommend FV Pizza Dz. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Service is some of the best in Fountain Valley. Vinny (our server) recommend the spinach lasagna, and he was spot on. Very fresh tasting, with delicious marinara sauce. We also got the garlic cheese bread and a "giant slice" cheese pizza. Every thing tasted grate. Super happy with this restaurant.

I will admit I was not sure how to feel about this place at first since it was an italian restaurant but upon stepping inside i saw a bunch of asian instant noodles. Seeing the thai tea on the menu didn't help either but i was pleasantly surprised. It seems like an asian/italian restaurant that doesn't take itself too seriously. I recommend getting the onion blossom, and beef lasagna. The portion size was pretty big so come hungry or with friends. The chicken carbonara was ok except chicken was a little dry. If you can ask for my man Edison! He was pretty cool to talk to and helped us figure out what to order. I would definitely come back again and try some of the other menu items.

Their claim to fame, the strawberry croissants, taste as spectacular, light, crispy, airy, and deliciously subtle and fruity as much as the original location. The main problem is they definitely seem to have way less stock on hand, and things can sell out fast. I had to come back another day for my favorite item of theirs, the rusk - extremely light and crunchy bites of buttery sugared mini toast. I buy a bunch of these to take home as souvenirs, as the strawberry croissants obviously need to be eaten ASAP. Their employees were pretty friendly and helpful. I love that they carry bulk platters of their strawberry croissant and have them displayed right as you enter. They also have various other desserts and pastries, even some savory sandwiches and sushi, packaged goods, and coffee. I'm here pretty much just for their strawberry croissants and rusk, though their other items seem nice if you want goods for a convenient picnic.

I was deciding on where to snag lunch on my way to another store doing my rounds and I really wanted a sandwich. I decided to get the Turkado, some dirty Maui chips and drink. The total came to $17 and some change, not bad about the avg for the area and any lunch. The service was great, the woman who helped me was nice, and efficient, she helped me select what chips to get. Not much bantering but I do enough of that at work, so all good here. The store was clean, nice vibe, music. My order was ready in the time it took me to fill my soda cup and sit down to scroll 1 scroll thru outlook emails. Maybe 5-7 mins the woman who gave me my order asked if I wanted some secret sauce on the side, and put it in the bag. The bag felt heavy! The sub was huge! Probably 8inches bread was nice and springy, there was enough lettuce, tomato and sauces on it. I love the sunflower seeds, gives it a nice little crunch. The meat is more of a very thin piled high but there is a lot of it! I like how the sub is assembled meat, cheese, toppings sauce, it seems to hold together nicely.

This review covers my experience across multiple locations, including Harbor Boulevard in Costa…read moreMesa and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. When I first started coming to Board and Brew, I would have given it a solid five stars, but my perspective has shifted after six years of exploring other local options in the county. The Evolution of the Experience: * Ingredients: While the food is definitely better than a pre-made deli sandwich from a grocery store, it isn't exactly top-tier. The bread and meat are good, but as you try more specialized places, you realize these are fairly standard. * The Famous Sauce: Their signature sauce is tasty, but it feels like it contains a high amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG is a neuro-exciter that can make people feel overstimulated or unwell after eating it, and it feels particularly intense in this recipe. * Consistency: Both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa locations were great initially, but they now feel more like a solid, middle-of-the-road option. The Best Use Case: * Catering & Events: Even with a three-star rating, this is absolutely the place I would go if I needed catering for a birthday party or a large event. Their pricing and preparation for bulk orders are hard to beat. Final Thoughts: If Yelp allowed half-stars, I'd probably give this a 3.5. It's a reliable, solid sandwich shop, but the ingredient quality and the intensity of the MSG in the sauce keep it from being a five-star favorite for me anymore. Edit: The owner replied to my comment about how their food is high quality, but 6 years of taste testing says otherwise. While you may not add pure MSG crystals to your sauce, it still contains MSG.It is misleading to claim "No MSG" or "High Quality" when the sauce relies on ingredients that are chemically identical to it. For instance: Tomatoes and Tomato Paste: These are among the highest natural sources of free glutamate. If the recipe uses tomato paste--as many copycats do--it will test positive for MSG. Soy Sauce & Worcestershire Sauce: Both frequently cited in recipes for this sauce, these contain naturally occurring MSG through fermentation or hydrolysis. Nutritional Yeast: Often used to provide a savory flavor, it naturally contains high levels of glutamate.Hydrolyzed Proteins: Ingredients like "hydrolyzed vegetable protein" (HVP) or "yeast extract" are processed specifically to release glutamates. Legally, a company might say they "don't use MSG" if they don't add the pure additive, but that is a technicality. MSG is linked to various health issues for sensitive individuals, and just because many consider it "safe" doesn't mean it's healthy or non-harmful. If the food is truly "high quality," why rely on these additives to create flavor? Best Wishes

The Critiques: * Ingredients: Like a few other spots, this one makes me feel a bit "off" afterward. Since the meat is tossed in sauce and they add more to the bread, I suspect there might be some MSG involved. * Pricing: Things are getting expensive across the board, and I feel like most places--this one included--are overcharging by about $3. I ordered the Wagyu Tri Tip sandwich special and my order was nearly the last available that Friday. I also ordered their Paradise Iced Tea, which was good, but not spectacular at a paradise level in my opinion. The tri tip sandwich could have been executed in all the right ways, but the Serrano chilis were overdone and took over the sandwich. The balance was thrown off. The Serrano masked the overly chunky tri tip and my palate. If the Serrano chilis were diminished by a half or even two thirds, this would be a far better sandwich. The quality of the sesame seeded hero bus was great and I could taste it, but overshadowed by the Serranos.I could tell the cheese sauce was also well thought out and executed on its own, but again the chilis masked all that goodness. The same goes for the chunky sauteed onions, whose sweetness could have offered a nice counterpoint to the tri tip and chilis, but was overwhelmed by the chilis. This also applied to the tri tip, whose Wagyu flavor should have been at the center of this sandwich, but was pushed aside by the Serranos. You're onto a good thing with this Tri Tip and I was looking forward to enjoying it, given we don't commonly see the tri tip cut on the East Coast. When you run this special again, back off the Serranos by a considerable amount and chop the tri tip a bit more finely so one can eat it without having to eat oversized chunks. The quality is there, but the balance and execution were off. 3.4 stars
