First time here , my husband works around and brought me. Staff really friendly , even after a very rude Karen very racist came in rushed in restroom without purchasing giving staff a hard time. When staff adress her politely the lady yelled " you guys are so rude , I went across the street to use restroom and end up here, "yelled you guys are rude you know what F.... you, I don't give a F about your policy when staff addresses the " restrooms for customers only sign " and left angry. For no reason it was clear she wasn't intended to purchase anything. BUT food is very good I'm very pleased. Came all the way from Elk Grove just to eat here. No one staffed wore a mask or gloves. I watched the staff touch their hair, cards, their phones, and other items while they prepared my food. The plastic glass barrier between the counter and customer is performative. We returned the pizza because they endangered us as customers. Have some respect. read more

Silly me! I live in the neighborhood and have not eaten here is ages. I have been missing out because the pizza is great and so was the bread sticks! Had a wonderful experience with the new owner at this location. I was honestly a little worried about if the menu and recipes were still the same, and was pleasantly reassured by Sunny that they haven't changed much besides amendments to the kitchen process to make it smoother on their staff. The pizza is still the same, if not better! Which was awesome because I've been craving their Polynesian pizza for a while. Didn't make time for pictures because I couldn't resist digging in! The one day of the week my family could enjoy a meal & was very disappointed in my pizzas. Over cooked ( almost burnt ) & lacking hardly any cheese. "Pizza Express" shines in bright red on a forest-green roof. The usual neon signs of beer, "Open", and...beer sit in the window to the left of the door. Inside is a long pizzeria with a salad bar to the immediate left, benched tables line the left wall all to way to the arcade games in the back, the ordering counter is straight ahead, and a separate event room sits behind glass to the right. A large menu hangs on the wall to show pizzas, calzones, salads, sizes, toppings, and other informational and delicious tidbits. With the feel of the menu, I went with a small-sized spin on the tried-and-true: spicy pepperoni and red onion with red sauce. Out comes a rather large small pizza thick with light-yellow cheese, dark-red pepperonis, and grilled red onions - grease glistening in the light a tad. Slicing into and pulling off a pieces may result in long strings of cheese that don't want to let go from the rest of the pizza. With napkin in-hand, I dab the top a bit to manage my grease levels, but then bite into the puffy slice with a crispy bottom. Cheese. Lots and lots of cheese is the overwhelming flavor that comes forward. Like the pizzas you'd get after a scrimmage of child sports, this is wonderfully just that cheesy, greasy, marinara topped goodness that you know isn't going to add years to your life. But it'll sure taste good that's for sure. An added side of red sauce - a wonderfully sweet, basil-y tomato - was required since I love a sauce-y pizza. This place is a time-capsule; sending me to when I was in youth soccer and celebrated with a slice at the local pizzeria. This isn't the hoity-toity kind that'd be trending on social media, but this is good ol' comfort food. It gets a great 4 from me. read more

Look the pizza is usually always great and staff is friendly however at COVID cases continue to rise again, proper measures to enforce are way underrepresented. I recently grabbed a to go order and about 15 people were tailgating in front of the entrance, none of them wearing a mask. I had asked the employee if they could do something about it to help disperse. They pretty much shrugged their shoulders and nothing was done. I understand you need to make all guests happy as best as you can, but seriously having people gather in large number by the entrance without masks is not an excuse. I have a family I need to go home to and I do not want to bring the virus with me. I will not be returning as I do for a while until COVID is not an issue again. Enforce social distancing and you will have my business again. read more

We ordered a half gourmet veggie and half curry chicken special pizza. I hope they add the curry pizza to their menu as it was the absolute best. It smelled like curry and had a spicy bite. The pesto twists were not as good as the sweet chili in my opinion, but they helped calm down the spice from the pizza. We had takeout and it was ready on time. Tasty pizza with a crispy crust and gooey mozzarella. The place can use a remodel, BUT it's all very clean including the bathrooms. We didn't have the salad bar which looked very fresh for mid-afternoon on a slow day! Customer service was pleasant and they had sports and news on the TVs. Good, consistent pizza. Sometimes service can be a bit lax. I called in ahead for two turkey sandwiches and still waited 15 minutes. I was the only one in the store with two behind the counter. Sandwiches were strange, wilted lettuce on a toasted bun? I'm still giving it four for the pizza. I live in neighborhood and have gotten very good pizza dozens of times. Great salad bar. While I was up in Auburn (my hometown) on business, I ordered a very extravagant and expensive pizza to take home to my sweetheart for Valentine's Day. I took the pizza home, to Sacramento, and when we opened it up, it was the wrong order. Oh well... too late now... Just then, my phone rang and it was the delivery gentleman who had also noticed that I had the wrong order. Once he found out that I lived over 30 miles away, he immediately told me that the entire transaction would be voided and I would be taken care of the next time I was in! THAT IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The fact that Pizza Express noticed the mistake, called ME, and didn't charge me a penny is just spectacular service! I do not know the delivery gentleman's name, but THANK YOU! He even picture messaged me a photo of the voided receipt. See you all next time! read more
