Pizza leon is a white truck with just a pizza slice logo (very simple) on the outside. You are at the right place! We came here per a Yelp review I saw and ordered our pizza. It was about a 15-20 minute wait which wasn't bad at all for super fresh pizza!!! I mean HOLY YUM! Definitely we are now obsessed over this pizza! It's the perfect amount of everything in our opinion! The only thing is that it wasn't good cold or heated up, so eat it while it's hot! The ranch was super good too. My standard first order at a pizza place is the cheese pie. No frills, but it eliminates all the distractions. Strip away all the toppings, and you can really appreciate the quality of the basic ingredients. It also allows you to give ample attention to the crust, which in my opinion can either make or break a pizza. I ordered delivery from Grubhub. The pizza was warm, the Caesar salad was cold. The creamy garlic sauce obliterated my taste buds with garlic (powder? salt?) while the salad followed with some of the saltiest parmesan I've ever encountered while the dressing did not taste homemade. I added fresh lemon to the salad to cut the salt. Finally, the crust was sadly lacking. I would be very surprised if it was handmade. I don't know if it's because of the perfect crust crunch or the young man assisting me, making sure I had a great first-time experience. I didn't catch his name, but he was a standout -- super friendly and attentive, really making me feel welcome. Heard about this place on the Joe Rogan podcast. Placed an online order for an anchovies and pineapple pizza to pick up. I got there right on the declared pick up time and they said it would be 10 more minutes. No problem, I waited for 10 minutes in my car. When I went back to the window, this time the guy said they're out of anchovies and I needed to pick another topping. So they could've called me (they have my number from the online order) or they could've told me they're out when I first showed up. They decided to do none of that. I ended up waiting another 15 minutes for the pizza with the replacement topping. The pizza tasted like Domino's (not bad at all but nothing special). Ordered this place over pedrosos because the reviews are great and it's closer to our house. We do pizza Friday every week & love trying out local places the most. Sadly this has been my least favorite week so far. We were expecting authentic NY pizza which this is not? I would accurately compare it to Chuck E. Cheese pizza. You can almost taste the Skee-Ball. The crust is not crispy. The mozzarella sticks in the website are described as "elongated" lmao but I added a picture of the actual size. They tasted like Mozz sticks you can't mess that up in my opinion. We asked for ranch to dip the Mozz sticks in & they tried to charge $4.02 for a side of ranch Finally, the star of the show, the cannoli! This cannoli added a star to this review. It's beautiful to look at and to eat. Good cannolis are so hard to find here in Austin, but I would reccomend going here to try this one. Wednesday May 18th is a day that will live in infamy - it's the first time in my life the wheel of Yelp landed on a stinker. I will preface, maybe my standard for "good" pizza is really high or something, but when I think good takeout pizza, it starts with the crust...right? I kid you not, the crust at Pizza Leon is that prefab almost frozen pizza cardboard with the little holes in it - it's not fresh made or hand stretched. I would imagine you get this stuff wholesale somewhere and just keep it refrigerated until you bring it out and sauce it up. Toppings are toppings - they were fine. So it's been a little bit since we tried Pizza Leon, however this food truck still has a place in my heart. Can I first start out by saying that when I called in my order for pickup the gentleman that took my order was very sweet and is definitely a people person. Mind you, I understand they have just opened and are on their "best behavior" but it did feel genuine and as long as they keep that up this place will be a staple in Austin for a while to come! First off, we ran into traffic on the way over there and it was very close to their closing time. Did that sway them from taking our order? Not at all. When I called and said we would be there a few minutes last closing, it was no problem for them at all! They greeted us with as if we were their life long friends when we showed up and didn't even rush us off once we were there. They didn't have to do any of that. I appreciate amazing hospitality and customer appreciation any day, but especially when you know it comes at a time that they don't want to be that way and yet they go above and beyond! Truly, truly appreciated and recognized! The food was amazing! We had the Caprese salad, could've used more balsamic drizzle and maybe thinner tomato slices if you aren't a fan of tomatoes, but I love them, so yum! I got a calzone with pepperoni and mushrooms, excellent! We also got the pizza with all the meats, also very yummy. I'm also a fan of their pizza sauce which, says a lot because I'm very picky when it comes to sauce and I asked for extra since the calzone and it was so good and used what I had left over with the slice of pizza I ate so it wouldn't go to waste. Hey everyone. I finally made it to Pizza Leon. If you've had them bookmarked for awhile like I had, stop wasting your time and get over here. I ordered a medium all meat and a medium combo pizza and both were excellent. I live pretty far north, so I had to pull over and eat a slice while piping hot. Let me tell you, fresh and hot is the best. I'm a fan of leftover cold pizza too. They have many kinds of calzones on the menu too. I think I dreamed about the mozzarella sticks from Pizza Leon for about a week before I actually had a chance to demolish them. I moved to another city one month ago but still work once a month in ATX and boy did I make my visit count in terms of food! I got custom calzone, a medium pizza, and not one but TWO orders of mozzarella sticks. I am not kidding - Pizza Leon has the BEST mozzarella sticks and the BEST calzones I've ever had. We ordered a cheese pizza, delivered through DoorDash, and while it wasn't life changing (as some of the reviews I had read online promised the pizza would be), it was on point! I ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom. What I got was a decent pizza. Crust was average. Sauce was not particularly flavorful or distinctive. Mushrooms were like little shaved pieces rather than larger chunks that you could actually taste. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. At first my group had second thoughts because of location but after reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. Being an elite yelper i take this seriously and supporting local business is my #1 priority at all times. Definitely family owned because even his growing kids was working the kitchen which i can respect.
