I enjoyed a good "Combo Combo" medium pizza from this pizza place the other day. I was off work and was flipping thru my DoorDash (DD) app for any special offers. DD was offering 30% -off to try Pizza Ponte. The Combo Combo pizza's toppings are: mushroom, pepperoni, salami, Canadian bacon, bell peppers, olives and sausage. The dough was soft and a bit chewy. The pizza was loaded with toppings. It actually had a soft and juicy texture with the mushrooms and olives. The meat combinations gave it good flavor. The crust was thin and soft, but I forgot to check to see if it was foldable. Overall, I enjoyed this combo pizza, but it lacked a thick layer of molten cheese. Extra cheese cost $14.99? Was this a DD typo? Nope, I checked the menu, and it said extra cheese $14.99. For $14.99, they should give me a second pizza. A Medium Combo Combo cost about $20 w/ no extra toppings. We love this place and visit it frequently! We love the green goddess but all the slices we've tried are excellent. When it comes to pizza, crust is super important and I feel like they nail it. The staff is super nice, especially Ariana, who is always a friendly face when we visit. Would highly recommend this spot. read more

This is our go-to pizza place in Oakland. We adore everything about it. The Green Goddess and Bad Guys pizzas are our favorites. The spicy ranch sauce is a solid addition to anything on the menu. Arianna always welcomes us with a huge smile. She's hilarious, and even encourages my young son to enter the restaurant dancing. Highly recommend everyone come try the various slices and pies at Pizza Ponte!! The service is phenomenal and register is usually worked by one of the brothers that owns the spot, they are both very kind and can give great recommendations. My personal favorite is the Nonna's Pepperoni, a decadent deep-dish style slice that was a 10/10 experience, a light and fluffy dough with a beautifully crunchy layer on the bottom. They also have a ranch that they offer with all their slices and it's a must have, I'm not sure what's in it since they make it in house but it makes everything I've tried taste better. read more

Oh my GOD. The girl that works the counter here has the best personality I have ever encountered. It honestly wouldn't even matter if they served me literal garbage. I do not write reviews very often so my hope is the owner/brothers read this. I am not a pizza lover and rarely crave it, but when I heard the buzz about this place, I stopped by. I LOVED the pizza and the added sauce on the side opened my eyes to a different way of enjoying pizza. Why 3 stars? Well to start, I own my own business and if one of my employees greeted customers like I was greeted today, they would get a talking to and if it continued, they'd be let go. I'm not sure if the person who helped me is one of the brother owners but if it was, your posture, your demeanor and your lack of engagement will cost you business. I may give it another shot, but I really dislike when the person taking your order is literally slouched over the ordering system, they do not greet you, they do not look up at your and they do not tell you how much your order is. They leave it to you to look at the screen and pay. And then there is the ubiquitous "tip" option......I hit no tip so fast I almost hurt my finger. The person behind the counter will cost this place business....if all of their front of the house people act this way, the goodwill they've gotten with all the good press of late will be squandered fast. The face of your business matters as much as the food. The pizza is really good but I really don't want to be treated as if I was interfering with their day! read more

I eat a LOT of pizza around the east bay. I was thinking Mamas boy was it, then pizza violetta -- but I can tell you that Pizza Ponte is the absolute winner. Pizza Ponte is terrible. They sent a paper plate with tiny bits of pizza that looked like someone's leftovers, just shoved in a paper bag! Not in a pizza box nor wrapped in foil; just loose in a paper bag. I was appalled. It looked like a 3 year old child's leftovers. And they charge $14.99 for extra cheese on a pizza!!! Outrageous! Other toppings are $2.50 or $3.00; but not for cheese. You could practically buy another whole pizza for what they charge for extra cheese. I've never seen anything like that before. The beef ravioli was a complete rip-off. $12.99 for 6 flat and greenish looking ravioli! Oh how I miss Pizza Nation. Pizza Nation would send trays full of pasta, enough to last 3-4 meals, for the same price, and loaded with flavor, and also extra sauce was always free. Pizza Ponte charges for every tiny thing, even extra sauce. The ravioli were hard and had no flavor. The "free" bit of garlic bread they sent was completely raw, untoasted, had no garlic flavor, and tasted moldy. The ultimate garlic bread was burned so badly, and had no flavor. I really hate to leave a bad review for a new restaurant, especially after the 2 years of struggle from the covid shutdowns, etc. But a new restaurant should take extra care to serve a visually appealing meal, with flavor. There is so much competition in Oakland, as there are literally hundreds of restaurants that serve a delicious pizza. I am grateful to DoorDash for crediting back the money that I wasted on this inedible meal. I threw it all in the trash, and I hated to have to do that. But nothing was acceptable to eat. read more

Beyond bad, slow service. Felt bad for the food delivery people who came in to retrieve the order, had double-parked, and then had to wait another 30 minutes for a pizza ordered an hour before. This happened with two successive drivers. Also, the guy at the register, who doesn't greet customers, doesn't know if there are nuts in the pesto and insists green goddess topping is the same as pesto (?!). Do not recommend if you don't have an hour to wait AFTER ordering an hour earlier. Also, the tomato sauce is overly sweet and tastes like sugar was added to it. I don't like writing bad reviews but I think it's justified when the food is not worth the money. If they were charging less that would be fine cause you'd be getting what you paid for. I don't like 'overpaying' for crappy food. Ordered the fettuccine alfredo through dumbdash. 13.99 before tax. Worth 7.99 discounting the vaguely ill feeling I have from the cheapo wheat and cheese injection. Spackled with layer of mozzarella cheese that molds the apparent pasta 'sculpture' into an innovative to-go container shape. I call it fettucinne (jello-)moldfredo. Pasta slightly undercooked. Alfredo sauce not flavorful. Comes with all of one piece of non-garlicky garlic(?) bread. Also got three highly underwhelming wannabe chocolate chip cookies. This is food so unsatisfying you want to find something else you can eat but instead you just lie there writing a review. It reminds you that utterly mediocre food establishments are still out there.  A vaguely depressing experience characterized by that 'humanity must kinda suck cause I just ate crappy food made by kinda sucky kinda fake cooks' feeling. read more

If this place didn't claim to be perfecting an "East Coast style" pizza for 150 years--newsflash: pizza arrived in the US in the early 20th century--this rating would be higher. You can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you can't take the NJ out of the girl. These slices were neither NJ foldable style, nor were they New Haven apizza. The crust was too thick, the sauce cloyingly sweet. The service itself was fine, and I really liked the sauce for the garlic bread. And the pizza would've been fine if they'd just billed themselves as "Pizza Nation, but with new owners and more expensive." They should of just filled Uber order. Haven't even been open long and just horrible drove from Alameda for Uber order that pizza ponte cancelled caused apparently too busy, they tried to blame Uber. But when I go in person to place order and they can accept it. Then person at counter gets all angry when I point out the BS . He was like why didn't you call etc. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. It was an Uber deal BOGO so calling wouldn't of made difference and I had already paid for uber order now what he should of done is fill u er order. Horrible place I called Uber it wasn't them that cancelled but ponte even through ponte blamed uber order. Only merchant can cancel. I didn't call anyone a name and was not yelling but had frustration in my voice as drove from Alameda for ponte to cancel order but than be able to except in person lol Thanks seyar there was no name calling or yelling you can confirm with the two other customers who had to wait for rude service also. But thanks seyar for the cancelling of my order because you all were to busy yet could take order in person. Ended up having an amazing pizza deal from pizza guys in Berkeley so nice and helpful no cancelling of order and great deal. So blessing on disguise ponte messed epic epically. Also you all didn't want to fix situation with deal when I arrived y'all tried to charge full price not the Uber order so nice try.....
