In shock-as a family of 4 and hawthorne residents. we have been coming to pizza show for a long while now. We were told we could not sit in one of the 3 empty large tables in the front. it's really sad on a Thursday at 6P no one was in this restaurant and we were told those the large booths were for 5 or more people per the owner. At least the last three times I have gone back here, the pizza isn't as good, the service has become like every other business here in the South Bay area and the prices continue to go up! Sorry to only give this place a 3 star review. I ordered a large cheese pizza and an order of buffalo wings well done. I received a small container of ranch dressing. I asked for another small container of blue cheese dressing and unfortunately I was told I had to pay for it. Lol it's so sad that businesses will lose a customer over a condiment. Tried the Pepperoni Pizza with light sauce and thought it was good! Pizza came with a generous amount of cheese so getting extra here didn't seem necessary. The crust was nice and crispy and wasn't too thin or thick. Just right. The mozzarella sticks were good as well. Total was ~30 for a large pizza and an app. The location was comfortable. Inside had dark lighting, cool temperature, and large tables. Staff was polite. I dined inside, but thought it was cool that they had an ordering window and seating outside so one can conveniently order themselves a slice on the go. l'd definitely come back! This place has been here for years. Been here a handful of times for some family dinners. They have a decent family plan where you pay $65 and it has tons of food. The service is ok, nothing special. Not bad but not great. I used to order from the window outside for a quick sandwich togo. The inside of the restaurant has a decent village feel. Parking is limited to the street but I never struggle to find parking. Food wise, can't go wrong with the pizza show special. You're standard combo pizza with everything on it. Pizza Show has been a staple in Hawthorne, for a long time. I've never been, but I decided to try them out today. I will start off by saying, I feel maybe the environment, and also service would be better, if I went on the weekend, during primetime hours, and the experience, and service, would have been more fire and awesome. As I went early in the week, early afternoon. I placed an online order for a pizza, website told me the estimated time my pizza would be ready. Decided to run some errands meanwhile. Arrived at their "pickup" window. There was an employee who noticed me at the window, but he seemed busy, so I didn't call out to him. There was another employee at a separate "order here" window, about ten feet away, but I didn't bother him either, as he could see me standing, and he would have asked if I needed help or whatever. I was where I was supposed to be at the "pickup" window anyways. I waited for a good five minutes, before I was finally acknowledged by the same gentleman, who originally saw me at the "pickup" window, and handed me my pizza. Yeah you could argue I could have said something, but I was a little perturbed that they were ignoring me, like what else would I be doing, standing at the pickup window. So this was slightly off putting, but it's okay, I'm going to let this slide. So, their dine in area (at least when I went today) was closed, but I was planning on taking the pizza home anyways, which I live moderately close by. So, another food reviewer brought up a good point about pizza, and that some pizza you need to eat while it's hot and fresh out the oven, and there is some pizza, to where it can sit, and it doesn't effect anything. Pizza Show is definitely pizza to where you preferably have to eat it hot. The pizza is alright and fine, but I can tell my pizza was probably done way before I came to get it, and I feel you could if you like, reheat it at home, but meh. So yeah. I will come again. This place definitely has gone downhill. I used to bring the kids here back in the day and it was great it definitely has stopped being that. I called at 9:00 and no one would pick up the phone it rang a zillion times and no one would pick up the phone. Then I tried one more time and the phone line was busy so I thought that was odd because on the advertisement it says that it closes at 11:00. So I decided to drive there and I am told by the one person in the kitchen area that they are no longer taking orders and that they are closing at 9:30. I'm like what I don't understand your ad says 11. I think his rudeness came about from him being tired so I decided not to argue and take my business elsewhere. Enjoy the Za and came back for the lasagna. Word of advice. You may want to give them a heads up if you're interested in the lasagna. It takes a minute to make that magic happen.
