I usually order from this place when am in East Boston. Unfortunately, I called and the guy didn't find what I was ordering in the computer, so he asked for help. The other guy asked me what was I ordering, and I told him. Without me saying what size. He said we only have 1 large, whatever you want only one large. It's only 8:23pm and they close at 10:30pm. When the order was ready I read crispy chicken calzone, I asked the guy and he said yea that's what you get! It has cheese on it right? I said yes but no sauce. He said the sauce is on the side that's what you get! I said that's not chicken parmesan, and I don't like your attitude so have your delivery guy come and get your calzone and return my money to my card I like to order some place other than here. Pizza Shuttle is, frankly, a little strange. There's no denying it. If you spend any amount of time in Pizza Shuttle, you will see among the customers more local flavor than you could ever get on a pizza. A man with a bag full of nips once told me to never start drinking or do drugs. He then went on a paranoid tirade about he knows my parents (who live in Maine, by the way) and knows what they think of him and that's why they sent me down to pick up the pizza instead of coming to get it themselves. I once saw a man in his 60's hitting on some teenage girls, which actually wouldn't seem overly strange if not for the fact that they seemed to be flirting back. Then there are the men who I see coming in from the door next to Pizza Shuttle which simply has the words "Private Club" on it in stick-on letters. All of that, though, does not change the fact that Pizza Shuttle is my go-to pizza place. Other more well-known places may be within walking distance of my house, but 99 times out of 100, I'll go to Pizza Shuttle. The pizza, first of all, is delicious. The dough is very tasty and just thick enough to hold up the toppings without everything sliding off when you try to pull it apart. They have a good selection of toppings and specialty pizzas, too. We usually get the spinach and garlic pizza, which is great and really packed with flavorful garlic. Also, love the fries. Anywhere else we go for pizza, it's usually just the pizza, we rarely even mention the idea of getting fries, too. But one day we tried Pizza Shuttle's fries, which were crunchy and well-seasoned and just as greasy as you would want your fries to be. Now, every time we order pizza we have to decide between the fatty choice of getting a greasy pizza or the super tubbo choice of a greasy pizza and a giant order of fries (there is only one size, and it's huge). There is often some hemming and hawing, some "Should we get fries? I don't know... okay, let's just get them," like it's some kind of special splurge, just this once. But the truth is, we make the same decision almost every time. There is one benefit to getting the fries beyond just the fact that they are excellent. Pizza Shuttle has a $15 minimum on credit card purchases, but most of their pizzas are under $15. So if you want to go but don't have any cash? Fries cost just enough to get it over that threshold. It's like some kind of devious trick! A delicious, delicious devious trick. Finally, as I've mentioned before, I like when people I don't know call me "my friend." I don't know what it is about it, but it's very endearing, and some of the guys here do that. They are very nice, and even though they are all a little hard to understand, they always have a smile. I usually call in my order for pickup, and when I show up to pick up the pizza, they immediately know who I am. Someone usually catches my eye as soon as I walk in the door (I know my pizza is done when I walk in because all I can smell is garlic) and they have my pizza sitting on the counter before I can even walk up there to pay for it. I really like Pizza Shuttle. Come here for great, cheap pizza and fries. Do not come here for something upscale or healthy. Come to stuff your face and be happy. read more

This is the kind of place where you would expect to get a sub or pizza the way god intended: greasy and delicious. They don't really mess with the staples and that's a good thing in my book. A steak and cheese has steak and cheese in it, end of story. It's also one of the few places in Boston that has decent buffalo chicken. That aside, the service is pretty much a joke. I always get delivery from here because street parking is almost impossible (beware that right in front is a bus stop and you'll get a $55 ticket before you can pay and get out). As an example I tried ordering a tossed salad to go with some sandwich or another and the guy on the phone clearly could not speak english. He asked me to repeat myself maybe 5 times. Now, I'm a little immature and saying tossed salad 5 times in a row had me cracking up for a while. Anyways, the process of ordering a meal, give the address, phone number - and god help you if you pay with a credit card - takes about 10-15 minutes. But hey, at least it's cheap. So all in all if you have the patience and need some greasy food, go for it. read more

This place is really hit or miss, but when it hits, it hits good! I'd say the pizza is good about 80% of the time, but I've gotten a few bad pizzas here. They seem to be better over the weekend, I avoid it during the middle of the week. We like to pick our own toppings (broccoli & feta) or we go for the International pizza listed on the menu. Its prices are super reasonable and they give you a ton of fries for $2! If you're eating in, you're in for a treat, because some of the strangest people tend to eat inside. I'd get it go if you aren't into people guessing your weight or telling you look 14 years old, when you're 26. We never deliver, so when we pick-up, there is always something "interesting" going on inside! Although, I must advise against getting a calzone here. Today I called up and place an order for delivery and I always think twice about calling this place because of the few times I've went inside it is absolutely disgusting but it is close by and quick today my delivery came they gave me the wrong order so I called them up and the man said he was saying the correct order the wrong order cost twice twice as much as what I ordered but I paid the first time so I did not know what was in the box the driver came to my house with the correct order a simple steak and cheese sub that I ordered did not give me back the price difference and took the old food away the service is absolutely terrible that I like I said I always think twice before there It is absolutely disgusting and I can only imagine what the back kitchen looks like better off going to any other sub shop and he's Boston McDonald's is across the street read more

Let's just say it, the service is not that great. This is not the pizza shop you really want to just sit there and eat expecting great service. This shop is best when you place orders for pick up. I've eaten there and I've also picked up food but never asked for a delivery so I'm not sure how that works. But when you eat there, you'll get good food at an ok time. It's a small quiet place so I prefer take out. The pizza is good and so are the salads I also had their subs a while back and didn't have a bad experience. I think this is a solid choice for pizza in East Boston for reasonable prices. read more

Pizza is just OK. The delivery is HORRIBLE. The guy is clearly miserable and doesn't even deliver properly. I had to come all the way downstairs and outside to stand in the rain and wait for him to get out of his car. He didn't even consider getting out of his car until he realized I refused to go up to his car to get the pizza through the window. Like what is wrong with you? They should change their name to "The Fry Shuttle"..... Their french fries are DELICIOUS. They are like breaded or something. There pizza is good, and one of my fav's of this place is the chicken finger plate which comes in 6, 9, 12 and comes with fries. I've eaten here for years. The food is pretty good. The service is pretty decent. They may not speak the best English but my husband speaks Spanish so I usually just have him call. My kids love the pizza. I usually get a sub or the tuna club. The fries are great. They have always been friendly and if you pick up the food it's usually ready on the counter before I get up to the register. And it's also pretty cheap. read more
