Very lively crowd and the seating area is a bit tight so be prepared for that. Sat at the bar which had a bit more relaxed atmosphere. Interior is extremely interesting, old fashioned vibes for sure. The food was amazing. Ordered the focaccia to start, light and fluffy and great crisp on the outside. Also paired with the warmed salted butter really brought it all together. Then had the pepperoni pizza. Bold flavor and insanely crispy thin crust.

The honey drizzle with jalapeño and pepperoni is absolutely the best combination, a perfect sweet and spicy balance! The service is always amazing when I dine in, and the quality remains just as impressive when I order out. The arugula salad is a must-try, and honestly, everything on the menu is a winner. You really can't go wrong with any choice here. Consistently delicious food with outstanding service , this place never disappoints!

I saw a write up that Pizz'Amici was voted one of the best pizza places in the country. I stayed up until 1am to book a reservation a month in advance. Imagine my disappointment when we bit into our pizza. It was nothing to rave about. Crust was crispy and thin, but it wasn't a very good pizza. We all rated it subpar for the hype. Pequod's is much better in terms of flavor. This was a miss for us.

Pizz'amici is one of the newer pizza restaurants in Chicago which has been getting a ton of hype, and they're always booked out. Somehow, I managed to get a reservation for a Friday evening (I did make the reservation a month in advance though). The restaurant itself is not super spacious, so all of the tables are really close together. On top of that, it's super dark inside--this all creates for a fairly intimate but slightly loud environment. We went with the Burrata, Focaccia, and BYO Pizza. The burrata and focaccia combination was heavenly; their focaccia was so pillowy and flavorful. The pizza was also really good. I'm not sure if I would say it's the best pizza in Chicago, but it was certainly delicious! I like that they're really flexible with doing toppings on half of a pizza (and only charging you for the half), so we were able to try a lot of different combinations. We tried things like regular cheese, spicy pepperoni + hot honey, giardineria + sausage, etc. I really liked their ratio of pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings, and the crust was really yummy. Overall, it definitely is an extremely good pizza. I don't know if I would care to fight for a reservation again in the future, but if I have the opportunity to come back, I certainly will!

We couldn't get reservations so we went just before opening at 4pm and waited outside about 15 min and were able to snag a table for three. We started with the Caesar salad which was fine but nothing special. I wish the lettuce leaves had a crispier romaine and there was something off with the dressing and there just wasn't much of it. The pizzas, though, did not disappoint in the least! The pepperoni with the hot honey drizzle was our favorite. It was absolutely delicious. The crust was paper thin and had a crunch to it around the edges - all really good and balanced. The sausage with giardinera was also slammin. Glad we came, it was a great meal and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I agree with several reviews! Really unsure about the hype. We went here for dinner in the first week of December. The ambience was lacking. It's just a room with tables and chairs, not much character really. Our server was trying really hard to be cool. He had an extremely casual attitude which I thought wasn't very professional. Coming to the pizza- It's not bad pizza but it's not worth the hype either. It was salty and lacked any specific flavor. The salad wasn't bad, but I wouldn't come here just for that. Very underwhelming experience considering the hype.

Went here on Saturday. We went because of the TikTok hype. The wait is long, definitely make a reservation before you go. We ordered the Halal pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was pretty big and canned feed up to four people. Secondly we ordered a regular size pizza that can feed 2 to 3 people. The Caesar salad was not the best they do use butter lettuce instead of Romain. The dressing on it wasn't a traditional Caesar dressing... It was not good. I wouldn't get it again. The pizza, was decent. I do like thin crust Tavern style pizza, but this pizza was extremely thin. There was barely any cheese or sauce on it. I tasted the halal pepperoni prominently on it though. It wasn't bad. I would rate a 7.5 out of 10 as far as the flavor of this pizza. The pizza tasted like a cheese cracker. It was different! We definitely fell for the hype. The pizza was reasonably priced for what we got. We did eat the whole pizza. It did the job. The ambience in this place looked like a movie! It's perfect for a date night. It is small and intimate. I'd go back again just for that vibe. The front desk lady was really nice and professional. I would give this place another try in the future.

I love thin crust pizza so I knew I wanted to try some tavern style pizza while in Chicago. I don't even remember how I heard of this spot, but was so excited to get a reservation for 9 pm on a weeknight while in town. Nate and I arrived and they couldn't find my name on their list. Turns out, I made the reservation for a month later, womp womp. They were SUPER kind and accommodating and let us wait for a spot at the bar. I also didn't realize they closed at 9, so I am so grateful that they let us stay. Because this place was amazing. We started with some drinks - I got the Amalfi spritz, and Nate got the pepperoni negroni. When I tell you this was the best Negroni I've ever had, I'm not being dramatic. It was super balanced and smooth, and delicious! The menu is pretty small, with a few starters, salads, a couple desserts, and the pizza. You get to build your own but they recommend three or fewer toppings, so we did sausage and mushroom. When they say it's cracker thin crust, they mean it. It was super crispy and thin, which I really loved. I like tavern style wayyyy more than deep dish! We even ate the leftovers cold the next day and they were still delicious. I will say that it was definitely quite salty, but I loved the quality of the ingredients and the savory sauce. Plus we had great service from everyone we encountered. The space is tiny and reservations are highly recommended - just be sure you're making them for the right day!

This pizza is something that you would really enjoy if you prefer a saltier option. The thin crust and crisp within it is amazing, the sauce is a bit too salty, but still does work. The cheese is good, but I would say this is a saltier option compared to most. The thin crust is great and eats well, having you want more in the process because of how many slices you can eat with it being so light. Overall, solid pizza and service but location is smaller and does feel like a mom and pop pizza joint which is cool.

Worth all the hype! The pizza was insanely delicious! Our server described the secret to the paper thin crust and was super friendly. Also has the Cesar salad and meatballs. The entire meal and experience was so good! The ambience was hip and romantic and we loved the vibrant red colors and the personal touches of family pictures on the wall. This is now a Chicago favorite spot for epic pizza!

Finally scored a reservation at Pizz Amici and I get why it's such a tough table. The space is small and cozy, which adds to the charm but definitely makes it a hard res to snag. We started with drinks: the espresso martini was excellent, and I tried a dirty gin martini with anchovy, unique, fun to try, though probably a one-and-done for me. For apps, we split the chopped salad, meatballs, and focaccia bread (a perfect trio, and they kindly added an extra meatball since we had four people). Everything was fresh and flavorful. The star, of course, was the pizza. We ordered two tavern-style pies: a pepperoni with hot honey, plus a half sausage/giardiniera and half Italian beef/giardiniera. The giardiniera definitely brought the heat (pretty sure it's from JP Graziano), but it worked perfectly. Two pizzas were just right for four people, and they absolutely lived up to the hype crispy, bold, and packed with flavor. Loved the pepperoni the best! Service was great, the vibe was warm and homey, and the price felt more than fair. All in all, Pizz Amici deserves the hype and a full five stars. Definitely worth going if you can snag a table.

Hard to walk in but easy to get take out!!! Super solid tavern style, probably some of the best in the city.

    Marissa R.

Pizza The pizza was solid. The toppings were fresh and well-proportioned, which really let the crust shine. Service: The staff was friendly, but service was noticeably slow. Ambience: It was unbelievably loud inside and dimly lit. It's possible it was an off night, but the noise and lighting made it hard to chat or concentrate .

However we arrived earlier than scheduled and we ended up getting settled at our hotel so we walked and went in early. We arrived at 4pm and they let us in - was perfect because it wasn't busy. It's my son's first visit to Chi-town so I think this is a good first meal. We got the Chicago meatballs so we can eat something as the deep dish pizza takes 30 mins. The meatballs are flavorful and filled us up until we get our pizza. We picked the Malnati's Chicago classic - medium. The butter crust is really good and the cheese to meet ratio is balanced. While it is deep dish - it didn't feel like it's super thick, I think the butter crust was the difference. It was quiet when we arrived and we were seated in the dining area by the back in the ground level. There was only 1 group and another couple when we arrived so it wasn't loud. I'm sure when it's peak hours it'll be more festive and busy. Great first meal - order some starters if you're hungry. Medium was quite big for 2 people but good if you want to have some slices to-go.

We started with the calamari, which I really enjoyed. The batter was light and crispy without feeling greasy. We also shared the seafood pizza, duck prosciutto pizza, cup and char pepperoni pizza, and the gnocchi. All three pizzas were delicious, with very thin and crispy crusts. The seafood pizza came with a soup or broth that you could pour over it, which was nice and it also came with so much seafood. The cheese was slightly firm, but the pizza was still flavorful and enjoyable. The duck prosciutto had a noticeable duck aroma, melty cheese, and a rich, savory flavor. The cup and char pepperoni pizza was satisfying as well, especially the pepperoni with its crisp, curled edges. The gnocchi was another standout. It was satisfyingly chewy with a great texture and bold flavor. We finished with the tiramisu, which was light, balanced, and not overly sweet. Overall, the food was delicious and the waterfront setting made for a lovely dinner. I just wish we had been seated at a more comfortable table for our party size.
