A very cozy and local staple as it comes to Italian artisan pizza. I came with a group and we ordered salads, Pasta, and Pizza. It looks like they specialize in the pizza but I was a little disappointed in the selection. I know its an Italian focus but I was hoping for a little intrigue and flair. Whilst they do have quite a selection, they are mostly just slight reiterations of classic pizzas (no potato, clams, eggs, pesto, etc). One of our pizzas came with our toppings split into quarters. That was an absolutely shocking choice on the chef when we did not ask for it to be separated like that. Maybe it looks cool but the reality is that everyone at the table had a slice with only a single topping since we split the pizza among our group. What we did love was the salads. Both the Caesar and the one with blue cheese were delightful and packed with flavor. I thought the Risotto was a great al dente texture but the table thought it lacked a deep seafood flavor. All in all I think this place pumps out quality food and healthy ingredients. If my expectations had been more aligned I probably would have enjoyed this place much more. read more

We walked past La Rocca weekly, always curious, and after a 40-mile bike ride that left us ravenous, we finally made our move. We walked in ready to inhale anything with cheese and carbs, and honestly, we could've polished off two pizzas without blinking. We ordered the Quattro Stagioni, expecting a harmonious blend of toppings. What arrived was a surprise. Instead of the usual mix, each quarter of the pizza had its own distinct topping, like four mini pizzas sharing a crust but refusing to mingle. It was visually striking, definitely different, and not quite what we were craving but still delicious to say the least cause we polished it off as usual. That said, the crust was beautifully done, the ingredients fresh! We also tried the Parma Salad, which sadly wasn't our fav. Bland arugula, a few cherry tomatoes, but had lotsa shaved parmesan and the prosciutto reminded me of just a couple slices of lunchmeat. It was weird because the same meat was on the pizza and it tasted different. I would give another try on their salad on our next visit. But then came the house wine, it was smooth, balanced, and the perfect companion to our pizza. It brought everything together in a way the salad couldn't, and honestly, it might've saved the meal from becoming a post-ride tragedy. I loved vibe inside warm and welcoming. It's clear they care about quality and tradition. The umbrellas on the ceiling were my favorite and decor was fun to look at. We'll be back (probably hungry again), but next time we'll go for something a little more unified. Maybe the Margherita or Capricciosa. I came to Pizzeria La Rocca to have dinner with a friend. We got the Pizza Salsicia & Funghi and Spaghetti Olio for sharing. I love crispy pizza so I was excited to try their pizza. The crust was thin and crispy but the pizza was heavily loaded with toppings so it ended up being soggy. I think for the type of crust they have, it would be better to have light toppings to preserve the texture. My friend and I also noticed that the flavor profiles of both the pizza and the pasta are subtle. Both dishes are good, I just wish they were more flavorful. There were a lot of different selections and the pizzas could be customized. The pizzas are pretty thin and the crust is more of a cracker so for those who want more bread, this might not be the place. Everything we had was pretty good. I definitely like the pomodoro sauce more than the pesto but if you're with a large party try both! Service was pretty good and staff kept checking in on us. As a gluten-free person, this place is a real treat! Ambience and staff was friendly and accommodating. We showed up before the restaurant filled up around 5:45 pm on Sunday. We had the Rocca salad, yum! Plenty for 2-3 people to share. We also had the Quatro GF pizza (14") and loved having four different pizzas in one. The Hero drink is great, as is the Romanian white wine. Definitely recommend and will return! read more

We absolutely loved the burrata/prosciutto/arugula pizzas but beware they are larger than you'd think ($31 for one pizza that definitely serves 2, need to put that on the menu). Totally understand why this was rated the best pizza in the PNW in 2024. The crust is so good and thin and they made one of my favorite combos, prosciutto and arugula, perfectly. Would want to go back to dine-in since it looks very cute on the inside. It is on the pricier end for pizza but worth it to me since really good pizza in Seattle can be hard to come by. read more

The first time I came in was just a couple months after their grand opening, and the mister and I were sadly not very impressed. That was so long ago that I don't recall specifics other than it was for a birthday lunch, but I do know we hadn't been inclined to go back since. Until last month for another friend's birthday dinner. Willing to chalk it up to a meh first impression, we ventured back. Also we happen to like this friend so of course would have gone regardless. The point is we went in with an open mind. I like the ambiance of the dimly lit restaurant which feels a little romantic, and I like that they're able to accommodate a larger group in a small-ish restaurant (I think our reservation was for a group of 8 or 10, though I understand they put us down under the wrong time and almost gave our table away as a "no show"). The pizzas are pricy and the menu skews meaty. A friend and I shared a Pizza Fresca (pomodoro sauce, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil; hold the onion; $25), and my partner had the Pizza Margherita (pomodoro sauce, shredded & fresh mozz, fresh basil, evoo; $22). The Pizza Fresca was far superior. The margherita tasted like it had a different, sweeter sauce, and it was so laden with cheese it was basically a cheese pizza. The fresh basil was laughable with a sparse three sprigs for the entire 14" pie. While the crust is nice and thin and the pizzas are wood fired, I just didn't find the fresca wowed me enough. I honestly didn't really care about the leftovers either. I see they have a lot of fans both here on Yelp and that I've viewed time and again going by their window. TLDR: Avoid this place; awful service, okay pizza, and it gave us food poisoning. My wife and I visited this self-proclaimed "best pizza in Seattle" at 8:50 PM on my birthday. Even though they close at 10:00 PM, the staff made us feel like a huge inconvenience. The server's only greeting was a blunt reminder of their closing time saying we close at 10, and the chef literally rolled his eyes at us when we walked in. The food was just as disappointing. The Vegetariana pizza was good but the Margherita was far from traditional; basically a plain cheese pizza missing the promised fresh mozzarella, with a raw basil leaf slapped on after baking. When we asked if their Parmesan contained animal rennet due to a dietary restriction, our server was clueless and dismissive, so we had to skip the cheese entirely. We felt completely unwelcomed the whole time, especially when our server dropped the check on the table while we were still actively eating. The absolute worst part, though, was the aftermath. We both woke up incredibly sick the next day, and I've been battling severe stomach cramps and diarrhea ever since. Spending $70 for rude hospitality and birthday food poisoning was not on my list. read more

I was really craving a margherita pizza, and saw this place was on the way to my hotel, so I stopped by after work. They were super busy at 6pm, and since I was alone, I just got a pizza to go. The person at the counter was kinda short with me, like she was annoyed that I was in front of her, existing. I don't know why, but it threw me off. I placed my order and sat outside while I waited, since it was cold outside and no one was out there. While waiting, I saw a sign stating "best pizza in the NW" by the Seattle Times, so now I was thinking "this better be good". I looked around at the inside of the restaurant, and it looked pretty cozy, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Maybe next time I go, I'll see if I can get a seat so I can fully experience the place. Maybe 15-20 minutes after ordering, the same irritated counter person came outside and handed me my pizza. She didn't seem to care that I thanked her, or that I was a customer and had tipped. Huh, oh well, I guess. I got back to the hotel and had a slice. Not bad. The cheese was very generous, and the pizza was exactly what I had been looking for. Nothing fancy, just a solid margherita pizza. Best in the NW? Hahahaa.... no. Good? Yes indeed. Would I come back here? Absolutely. One bad customer service experience isn't enough to deter me from a second visit when the food is good. Visiting from Florida and was given a recommendation to go to this restaurant. I can't tell you how glad I am that we did! The pizza was fabulous, consisting of the thinnest and most delicate crust I've ever had. Flavors were mild and perfect on the pizza we chose. To top it off, we decided to have dessert. My husband had crème brûlée, and I had the chocolate mousse. Not only was the mousse beautiful, but it was probably the best I've ever had. The Caesar salad lettuce was fresh and crisp, but the dressing was meh and the croutons were definitely not made in house, just terrible, like the ones you buy in a bag in the produce section at Fred Meyer. The veggie pizza had a cracker crisp crust with bland sauce and raw veggies. There was nothing satisfying about any of it. Was walking around the area and did not expect to walk into such a cozy welcoming Italian restaurant. Staff were friendly and checked on us often. We ordered the margarita pizza, seafood pizza, and bolognese. The thin crusted and wood-fired pizzas were amazing, ingredients were fresh and great quality. Although, the sardines made the seafood pizza too salty for my liking, the combination was still unique and enjoyable. The bolognese was great, not too heavy, just wish the pasta was handmade. Long story short, go somewhere else... I decided to give this place a try since it's in my neighborhood. It looks nice, they had live music and awards for their pizza in the window. I don't know where these awards came from because this was by far some of the worst pizza I've ever had in Seattle. The entire pizza was undercooked except the crust (which was overcooked), too much flop that you couldn't pick it up and all of your ingredients look like they came out of a can. The garbage you see in the picture was a $30 rip off. How can you actually charge $30 for that??? The crust was so bubbled up that when you went to grab it, it would break apart and deteriorate. I watched people at other tables fail to pick it up too. Servers come around and brush the many crumbs off every table...pizza should never be like this. To top it all off, the food made me very sick the next day. I highly recommend Cornuto Pizzeria, Windy City Pies or Ridge Pizza down the street. Hell, even Veraci does the job better. Staff, friendly enough. But the disappointment hits when we get home, open the boxes. The pizzas, they're uninspired. Very basic. The crust, crispy but flavorless--like a saltine cracker. Olive oil on the Margherita, nowhere to be found. Each pizza, looks like it's been assembled with the most basic ingredients by someone who doesn't really know pizza. Not horrible, but not memorable. This is a full service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We came for the pizza! Early dinner! PEPPERONI PIZZA- red pomodoro sauce, shredded fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, grated parmesan. BIANCA PIZZA - extra virgin oil, mozzarella, prosciutto crudo, pecorino cheese, topped with arugula. Crust was a standout. Very thin & crispy, allowing the sauce and toppings to be accentuated. I've been watching this spot for awhile...what new iteration will be gracing the Greenwood neighborhood? The Homie and I happen to stumble into the first day of business for Pizzeria La Rocca, yay! Good thing we were ravenous. Beautiful interior, natural light, and welcoming staff were my first immediate impressions. Their menu presents a nice variety of appetizers, salads, pasta, pizza, pastries, and desserts. Beer, wine, espresso, and soft drinks are also available. Fascinating to be presented with a special list of Romanian wines too. The Homie selected meatballs and spaghetti bolognese. The trio of meatballs are a generous serving. Pasta was nicely al dente and bolognese was spot on. Me, the quattro formaggio pizza caught my attention. I had to make sure though to save room for tiramisu. There is a wood fired pizza oven onsite, which rendered a nice crisp thin crust with tasty, melty cheeses and robust tomato sauce. Full house on their first day of business with a steady stream of takeout orders, a very positive sign. Well placed flat screens allowed us to watch culinary shows. This provided a good distraction while waiting for our orders. I requested items ordered to come out as completed. Nice and piping hot! Pleasant wait staff. Generous servings. Spot on flavors. They have a cute story & love that their wine list has some Romanian wines on it, and it's nice to have a place in the neighborhood where you can get a vegetarian bowl of soup, but that is where the good vibes stopped for me on this visit. I really wasn't a fan of their pizza style. The crust is like a giant cracker without much flavor. (I love Neapolitan style pizza, which this is not) We ordered a margarita-- which was over sauced and while the crust was charred the cheese was barely melted. The prices here were also very expensive some of them I thought perhaps were a typo. They have a bowl of tomato soup with garlic bread on the menu for $18 and an antipasto platter that is $85. The buffala pizza is $39 (serves 2). Pasta dishes are $25-30. I'm well accustomed to Seattle pricing & even to me, these prices seemed high. With so many pizza options in the neighborhood, I don't think we'll be back but I'm glad we gave this one a shot. read more

The people here are very nice and the menu has something for everyone. First warning: it's VERY kid-friendly. Like if your kids are screaming in the concrete, steel, and glass space, no problem. And I mean this for real: great place to have wine if you must bring your kids. But if you happen to have free babysitting and are trying to escape children for a few hours, wait for the table at Delancey instead. Second warning: the pizza is floppy, somewhat soggy in the middle, and only flavorful if you get the hot peppers. But even then, not really as hot as you'd get many other places.
