Decided to stop for breakfast around 8:30am on Sunday morning before the morning rush. Staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and sat us quickly. Ordered the fried egg sandwich with bacon and coffee. Coffee was hot and fresh. Food was served within 15 minutes. Waitress was very friendly. Look forward to stopping in again real soon! read more

Ill start off by saying this wasn't our servers fault. She was attentive and polite. The host sat us in the corner next to ill assume were regulars and proceeded to sit next to us and talk the ENTIRE time to them while we were eating along with another server who had her ASS in our face for at least 15 minutes. As far as food goes, the potatoes were extremely salty and the corned beef hash omelet was all hash and barely any egg which was also salty. I have had better quality food for $72. I've been here many times over the last several years! This has been a common spot for family breakfasts/brunches and for hanging out with friends. The restaurant is not very big but has a reasonable amount of seating and has some outdoor tables which are great for when the weather is nice. Overall, staff tends to be polite and honest about wait times (there are definitely longer waits on the weekend mornings so be sure to plan for that). For me, they have 4 stars instead of 5 because the servers are not always the most attentive. I have also had a couple instances of the wrong order noted down which then took quite some time to correct. My go-to order here tends to be the Pancake Sampler which allows you to try 3 pancakes. I have over the years tried many of their pancakes in this way. I tend to go with two sweet pancakes and one potato pancake to have a variety of flavors. While I do have a sweet tooth, I find the sweetness of three sweet pancakes overwhelming. The portion sizes are large but if you're hungry and give yourself enough time, you'll probably be able to eat most of your meal. I am especially a fan of the Tiramisu pancake, and the Nutella, Banana and Strawberry pancake. The potato pancake is also great and is served with apple sauce which provides a light side with a savory pancake. I decided at a recent visit to try something different and had the Fresh Strawberry and Cannoli Cream French Toast! This was great - it came with traditional french toast, fresh strawberries, and cannoli cream served over top. I did not personally even need much maple syrup over the french toast because there was a great sweet flavor of the cannoli cream. I you have a strong sweet tooth, you'll definitely enjoy this! I definitely liked it but towards the end felt like a balance of a savory flavor would have been nice. read more

I usually get eggs and pancakes (and it's rare for breakfast places to let you have pancakes with eggs, since usually you only get a choice of potatoes). The chefs are great with varying orders for customization, and the pancakes are delicious, consistent in density. The ingredients are fresh, if you ever get any fruit pancakes and smoothies, you'll notice fresh fruit instead of frozen fruit (and the smoothies are made with ice, Greek yogurt, and honey!) Not so great quality control. Was a bit disappointed as the bacon burned, muffin burned and pancakes are dense. The coffee is a bit weak. The muffin being burned, I'm almost sure that they just cut a layer off and then re-toasted it. The paying of the maple syrup is something that has been around for a while. While that doesn't bother me, their inconsistencies probably won't make me come back to this location for quite a while. Oh, to the owners. Sunday morning. This is the suburban version of P.J.'s Pancake House on Nassau Street in Princeton. Quaint and cozy with a bar. Outside seating when weather permits. Like the parent P.J.'s, there is a breakfast menu featuring pancakes and other delicious breakfast items including omelets. They are a pasta bar also after breakfast hours. Be prepared there is usually a line in the weekends, just like the restaurant on Nassau Street. I have always enjoyed their potato pancakes and three-fer. I always love a restaurant where the staff act like artists pouring their heart and sole into your enjoyment. I get the feeling from Rita and the other folks here that this is much more than a pay check to them. read more

OUTRAGEOUS price for breakfast! I always loved this place in Kingston so I went to the one in Lawrenceville. 2 of us had breakfast with 1cup of coffee and the bill was over $53!! I go to Princeton every year and every year I have breakfast at PJ's every year. To me it epitomizes the classic college town diner complete with wooden booths marked by generations of students carving their names into them. I never deviate from "The Twofer." Two eggs any way, two pancakes, two strips of bacon and sausage. The coffee is OK and I usually have an orange juice and that's it. And they live up to their name for a place with "Pancake" in it. I've never been there for lunch or dinner and never had anything else to eat there. But boy do I love that! read more

Today I visited PJs pancake house - West Windsor location with my family which included 2 young kids. Since we had heard good things about the food, we thought since we are in the area we will check it out and the kids were looking forward to have some pancakes. We are from Northern New Jersey and have visited many breakfast places in NYC and the Bergen county but this was first time here. Really wish we had not as it really left a bad taste in our mouth for the rest of the day. We walked towards the patio side of the area and waited there as we wanted to sit inside. There was a door which said "please wait to be seated". After a few minutes waiting there, the server came and asked us where do we want to be seated .. we told her inside .. she took us inside and told us that we can sit by the seats right by the door and window. As soon as my kids were seated, to our surprise a guy came extremely rudely to us and almost yelled at us that we should have asked him to be seated and why are we sitting here. We told that person we did ask the server and she was the one who showed us in and sat us on the table. He then in an extremely condescending tone told us that we should have known better to not ask "just a sever" but should have asked him as he is the "OWNER" .. he also told us that we should have come from another door not that door.. We tried to nicely tell him that it was our first time there and there was no sign on the door which said that we could not enter from there or there was another door .. and there was no reason for us to find the owner as we were led to our table by the server which we assumed knew what she was doing .. However, his demeanor continued to get ever rude and condescending and he kept saying that we should know who the owner is and we were wrong to come and sit inside .. I am not sure if his attitude was like this because we were Asians and from a minority group ? Or maybe he has no respect for people in general. Anyhow we decided no need to indulge in any further conversation with that person who claimed to be the owner (without any sense for hospitality) and just left the place. We have been to many many restaurants but have never experienced such utter disrespect .. If you belong to a minority, I would suggest thinking thrice before going to this place as the "Owner" maybe there to ruin you day. read more

Solid joint where you can have breakfast at any time. I got the chili omelette because I never had it before. Pretty tasty. Chili was good and how can you go wrong adding eggs to it. Shakes also seem to pretty solid. I had a sip of the strawberry yogurt shake and it tasted exactly what you think it would. Fish tacos were okay but you should skip it for it better options. Menu has a good selection of breakfast/brunch items. They also have a page of lunch options - mostly sandwiches. I came in and ordered the pastrami hash since I'm a sucker for corned beef hash. Disappointed with mine since the skillet was mostly made up of their heavily seasoned "smashed" brown potatoes, and although the over easy eggs were done right, the pastrami was maybe 1 small slice of pastrami cut into tiny strips blended into the potatoes. It was so little pastrami that you're paying $14 for mostly potatoes! Maybe their pancakes are good but only order the pastrami hash if you want to fill up on potatoes. read more

I've had reasonably good food and service on most occasions, however tonight ensured that I won't be returning. My server was very kind, but was inattentive, completely failed on taking my order, and unwilling to make it right. Had I not waited 45 minutes for the wrong entree, I'd have insisted on a correction. I brought it to her attention that it was incorrect, and she apologized. Brace yourself for this: I arrived for lunch and ordered my favorite at the original Princeton location. I assumed it would be great at the WW location too. The server brought my shakshuka out and it was cold. Actually it was almost frozen in the center. I asked the server if she could ask the kitchen to hear it and she told me she would take it back. 15 minutes later, she brings it back and i immediately feel that the bottom of the pan is lukewarm, but I figure maybe they hear it from the top like a broiler so I give it a try anyways. I have a few bites and then ask for a box for me to pack it to go. She explodes. An eye-rolling, hollering, hair whipping, finger-in-my-face, screaming explosion. She literally screams at me that I've been at her table forever and she has tons of other customers who have been waiting for her table and I'm so rude to sit at her table. At this point, my partner has already eaten and finished his meal, so we've just been there a normal amount of time for a dude to slam down pancakes. She ends her tirade with (verbatim): "ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Now you want to take it with you?!". Like.... I'm not entitled to take my leftovers with me? We were literally was seated at the table less than 40 minutes and 30 minutes of that time was didn't waiting for my food and then waiting for them re-heat it. I probably only chewed for a few minutes. After the server left to go get a box for me to pack my cold (never-even-warm-to-begin-with) food, the family at the table behind me comforted me and said the servers behavior was totally unacceptable and I should let the manager know. A young guy waiting at the front door let out a "holy shit". My ears were ringing. I told one of the other servers (a different and very nice girl) about what happened and she said she saw the whole thing and was so sorry and embarrassed about the situation. I tipped that nice server for being so gracious and understanding. The screamy-screamy server was female, probably early-mid 30s, long brown hair in a ponytail, Latin american, super long fingernails (or they just looked long because she was throwing her finger in my face). Yummmm! It is great breakfast/brunch spot. This location is a little smaller, and busy! Came here on a Sunday waited for maybe 20 ministers, not too bad. We sat at the counter top, such a cute place. I tried their French onion...yum! It was extra cheesey and delish. Not too salt, not too sweet, just perfect. I'll recommend the chicken and waffles, again yum! Amazing! They give you 3 pieces of chicken, a large waffle with a side of coleslaw, and their in house syrup. Multiple locations and a new one coming soon in Robinsville. we went there on Father's day, expecting a long wait and pleasantly surprised when they seated us in 15 minutes. That was the only positive. Served 3 glasses of water for 4 people , no silverware. Food came almost an hour later, and we had to ask for the silverware. They gave us plastic forks because they were behind on washing them. My daughters food, Mac n cheese took even longer to arrive! It's been over an hour from when we were seated and our food is still not out. We ordered 2 omelettes. After being seated after a wait, our server aka cattle herder proceeded to literally rush us through the meal from ordering to clearing out our table. I'm not sure how to rate PJs. Maybe I'm thinking back to the old days on Nassau Street where the coffee was excellent, the pancakes were divine & the fat sausages crunched with deliciousness. Alas I stopped going years ago when it was just too crowded & parking was a bear. You can never go back. This location is just one of many planned PJs around the country. The place is modern and nice in a spot that was for many years an Acme that has been divided into many businesses. The focus is on pancakes as always, so the weak coffee was a big disappointment at 11 for brunch today. I had the 2fer...2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon & a sausage that looked like heat and serve. I paid $2.50 extra for Vermont Maple syrup which I'm ok with rather than get artificial stuff. Everything was ok. Nothing special. My friend got a smoked salmon omelette that she enjoyed. I'll come back and try something different in the future since it is a convenient place to meet my friend. I'll try something from the lunch selections. read more

A first visit to this PJ's in West Windsor, although I have sampled the goods at the Nassau Street location on many occasions. This place is modern and much more attractive than the rather past its prime locale in Princeton. Still, I avoid using the term, "comfortable," because the stools at the small counter are among the worst seats I have planted my cheeks on in decades, and the sharp edges of the paneling used under the counter a perplexing choice for customer's knees. True, the French Toast was very good, and the Coffee strong and flowing. The use of a sugar and cinnamon dusting during and after grilling was a good step as it allowed for caramelization of the edges for a slight crunch, and extra taste on consumption. Service was good and attractive. I don't pay the rent, but the prices were a buck or two higher across the board here than in similar breakfast houses. It would be more acceptable had the seating been as pleasant as the breakfast. Perhaps, a table seating would solve this issue, but it is hard to understand why management hasn't realized how disagreeable the stools are, and done something about it. Until that happens, it is difficult to be a fan, no matter how good the meal may be. read more

Very delightful experience. We accidentally stopped there to have some food on the way to D.C. This was a right choice. Everything was delicious and the server, Raul, was welcoming and kind. Great place, great foods for breakfast. This place seemed to be packed and super busy whenever I came by. So although service was friendly, but we felt rush dining in ... staff was so attentive that she kept asking if we needed anything else, and then there were customer lines staring at us eating ... making me feel like if I don't swallow my food within my fourth bites, they'd jump and choke me ... The decor is pretty cool too. At the entrance, they have this wood wall where you can carve writings on it. I think it's a really cool, it's a calming activities to distract hunger while waiting to be seated so you don't stare at the other customers eating, and don't drool over the smell of bacon and pancake! lols ... Anyway, we've had their blueberry pancake, fresh berry pancakes, crepes with fresh fruits, eggs benedict, omelet side of bacon, and fresh fruits medley. Also had tried their sweet potato hash brown .. it's delicious. I think of them as the cleaner, fresher and healthier version of Ihop. And of course, they come with higher prices. Soo good! The pancakes were super fluffy. I got the strawberry banana Nutella but no banana. It didn't even need syrup! It is a little pricey but honestly worth it.
