Chipotle grill with fries. Oh so delicious.
    Jim C.

I love this food truck. It's been my incentive to brave the commute into the 206 on Wednesday when they grace 2nd and Pike (possibly moving to the Seattle public library soon). I've have eaten nearly everything on the menu and have not never disappointed, but my favorite is the chipotle grill topped with awesome sauce. The "text your order" in option doesn't work very well, especially on Fridays.

I had the Mediterranean 8 oz Burger the other day and thought it was pretty good. This option was highly recommended by the staff and here are my thoughts: *mint-spiced seitan- think crumbled, skillet fried, and juicy- not bad for a meat substitute! *onion jam- great *pickled fig- I love all things fig- so coulda used a bit more fig taste on this one *mozzarella- the nasty fake stuff *arugula- fresh & crunchy. The service was great, but the prices seemed a bit high- even after this 8 oz burger I was still a bit hungry...maybe they could throw in some fries? All in all, a decent gourmet vegetarian burger option.

General Tso Cauliflower, Red Lentil Dill Burger, and Buffalo Portobello burger...so good!

Really good vegan food! I've had the Buffalo portobello burger (my fave), the Red Lentil Dill Burger, and the General Tso Cauli wings and they were all great. Service was very quick and friendly. Vegan or not, if you're looking for some great food you gotta try!

As a first time visitor, I'm impressed. I don't eat beef or pork, so my picking are always slim. I ordered the crazy Jamaican burger, and it tasted 100% like a hamburger, but instead of beef or pork it's star is grilled tofu. I won't walk past this food truck again while I'm in the area.

Super delicious. I was very pleased with the portions of the milkshakes and the mac and yeast. Can't wait to stop by the truck again!

I had the taco salad with Daring un-chicken, huge & tasty. fun cocktails! definitely recommend.

I am so grateful for my experience at Life On Mars. It turned out to be the highlight of a…read moretumultuous Seattle trip and I look back on it fondly. We came here mostly for one thing: I absolutely could not wait for their gluten-free vegan chick'n pot pie. A pie i'd been waiting months to try. A pie unlike any other pie. A pie that I still think about to this day. We walked straight into a Cardi B drag show. And by "walked into" I mean we opened the door and Hot Pink Shade sashayed right in front of us. It was exactly the kind of welcome we love. It was also the first green flag in a sea of green flags at Life On Mars. I could barely sit still as I waited to order my GF/VG pot pie. We got the drinks outta the way (a peach hard cider for me and a fancy-schmancy cocktail for the lady). I was positively GIDDY when Anna came to take our order and I blurted out chick'n pot pie excitedly. I nearly died when she said they didn't have any. Normally it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but I was from out of town and had literally been craving this damn pie for months! And I lied, I didn't nearly die but I DID nearly cry and that's almost as bad. Even the bestie lamented about what a let down this was. Anna. Dear, sweet Anna. We must have looked really hard up because this sweet baby angel offered to ask the cooks if they could whip one up special just for me. Let me tell you why this is a big deal: For one, she didn't need to do that. That's going above and beyond, and she was such a graceful little buttercup when she did it. Second, making a gluten free biscuit is a finicky, precise, detailed process. It sucks, honestly, and I don't blame them for not having them every day. I nearly cried when she came back and told us the cooks said YES. And this time i'm not lying. It was beyond the type of customer service i'm used to. It was.... humane. It was...empathetic. It was...totally first world problems but it meant so much to me! Especially since Anna said it had been a DAY and she was at her wits end. For her to have a rough day and still have the grace and compassion to make my stupid GF/VG chick'n pot pie dreams come true.....well, yeah, it made me a bit teary eyed. The pot pie was delicious, as expected. It was nostalgic and comforting, like a big hug in a bowl. The flavors were rich and deep, the biscuit soft and flaky; it was one of the most delicious things i've tasted on my GF/VEG journey. Between the food, the drinks, the customer service and the drag show......this was five stars all around. No doubt. I don't see the GF chick'n pot pie on their menu anymore. Maybe it's a seasonal thing? I hope it comes back, i'll be checking. And when it pops up again, so will I. Thank you, Anna. Thank you to the cooks on 2/19/26. Thank you to Hot Pink Shade, ISIS and King Leo Mane.

One or two big plush noodles plus all the seasonings and oil oil oil to boot. What's not to love. Keep your loved ones close but your Tums closer with this one. The spicy oiliness of it all sends you to heaven and to heartburn. The apps aren't bad either but it's a heaping bowl- I almost always have leftovers (pro tip is to boil more noodles at home and add them so the meal literally keeps giving for a while) Go early or be prepared to wait. The turnover is wicked fast here you literally order and get your noodles like 1 minute later, and it's majorly slurpable so I feel like you finish pretty quick! Also there's a nice fish tank to look at while you're seated.

The signature noodle was much better than the prime rib esp considering price. The hand pulled noodles are def good - chewy and thick. Soup was flavorful. Pork was moist and tender but beef much less so. The prime rib noodles were ok but not sure worth the up charge. The drinks were not good. The popcorn chicken was ok. I think what stood out for me was the poor customer service. Our waitress clearly did not want to be there and it came across when we asked for water, napkins, etc. That flies when the food is great but in this case it was ok. I think wha

We got a matcha float with mochi and a hojicha float with mochi. We love the hojicha better. The matcha is prob one of the better I've tasted, but not often you can find hojicha ice cream and milk tea. It was creamy and mildly sweet. So good, refreshing and satisfying! The mochi were ok. It was very bland and not sweet at all. I do prefer my mochi to have a little sweetness to them, like a sweet bite. This was like chewing a bigger non sweet boba ball. So I'd pass on the mochi here and maybe do all ice cream. If ever we're in Seattle would visit again. Update: we came here a few yrs later. The drinks were still good as ever. My husband got a frappe and loved it. We had a salmon bowl which was decent. Not something I would order again here but we were so hungry from traveling and meeting friends, we needed some food. This time no line out the door. We got a seat inside. We came in June this yr, nice weather outside but inside was super hot as they did not run the AC. They had the windows/doors open but no breeze and mosquitos were inside attacking. I can't imagine a good breeze when the cafe is wedged btw two huge buildings. It made our visit this time very stifling.

This comes in a very large cup, with layers of matcha ice cream, cornflakes, vanilla whippedd cream, and mochi at the bottom. I'll be honest that the matcha ice cream wasn't my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of matcha in general, but I have had examples where the sweetness balances with the earthiness better - and this felt like it leaned too much into the earthiness side of it. It just tasted off when mixed with everything else. What was exceptional, though, was the second and third layers. Mixing the cornflakes with the vanilla whipped cream/yogurt layer was awesome. The crunchy texture provided with the creamy vanilla flavor really worked - and it felt like what the essence of a parfait is with the textural and flavor contrast. I think I would've liked this a lot more if the top had been vanilla ice cream instead - submitting a request to have that as an option on the menu. This was pretty expensive. It cost 14 dollars for a single parfait. That's just a crazy amount. I know it's pretty big, but it's simply overpriced. Overall, it's a decent but not very practical dessert. 5.5/10

They told us they had happy hour after 9:00 PM with 31% off everything on the menu. Happy hour?! What a surprise! I thought they only had happy hour midday. I was recovering from a cold and soup sounded great, so we walked right in. The last time we were here was a year ago during our annual Seattle trip. The tomato soup is our favorite, but we decided to have that along with the gold chicken and fish maw soup this time. The fish maw soup is very collagen-rich and comforting to drink. We also ordered the beef sirloin slices, lamb shoulder, and pork belly, all of which were top quality. What I like about Haidilao is the variety of items you can use to make your own sauce. Every time you come, it's a bit of a "choose your own adventure." Definitely one of our favorite places to visit!

Each haidilao is different and even the menus are different. This one has a combo set menu which I was excited to try. The meat in set A was just... Bad. The brisket was way too fatty like 75% fat and not much lean meat. The lamb which I normally love was tough. And the pork was gamey. I was beside myself. Some things I expected because it was almost 9:00 p.m., such as the sauce bar and dessert bar running out of ingredients, but bad meat? Even worse, we got stomach problems this morning... The only saving grace was that the server was very apologetic and let us upgrade to set menu B. To meat there was... Acceptable. And yes, that includes the wagyu beef. Which shocks me because HL has been remarkably consistent for me, and the wagyu at Cupertino or Arcadia are terrific. This wagyu set felt a bit old and beefy, though okay enough. The soft serve ice cream machine was also out of order so no sweet ending. Having stomach problems afterward was just insult to injury. Sorry to say we probably won't come back to this location.
