I normally don't write reviews, but in this case Plumber Bob deserves the best. I found Bob on Yelp and all of his 5-star reviews were right on the mark. Bob did a pipe reroute in my house after my 3rd slab leak, using type L rigid copper pipe. I had several estimates for the work using rigid copper, flexible copper pipe and PEX. Bob's was the best for type of material used and cost. He estimated 3 days, and he was done in 2.5. When the water came on, no problems were found. I especially like the way Bob took the time to protect the areas and furniture from drywall dust, cover the floors, and then clean up immediately after to prevent tracking the demo'd material to other parts of the house. He chose the best routes through the ceilings and walls minimizing the overall impact. He was willing to accept suggestions and offered great alternatives to existing ideas. He was most courteous, and a very interesting guy. If you are looking for a plumber for any reason, you can't go wrong with Plumber Bob. I most highly recommend his work. I can't say enough good things about Plumber Bob. Some genius developer thought it would be a good idea to plant a Camphor tree in the front yard over our main sewer pipe and irrigation drain pipe. Over the years, the tree grew so large that the roots crushed the drain pipe and the sewer pipe ended up bowing. We knew the sewer line had problems, but did not know about the irrigation drain pipe until Plumber Bob came out and fixed the sewer pipe. Although I use Yelp as a search resource I rarely write reviews, but this plumbing experience compelled me to do so! Plumber Bob is an around trustworthy and knowledgeable small business man. He solved all our home plumbing issues quickly and efficiently while being very reasonably priced. I don't even think he charged me for the minor stuff that made a huge difference in our daily water usage. Truly signs of a great business man who works passionately and not just out to rip people off. It puzzles me when people complain about the mark up of some of the material and products used during the process of repairs. Consider the fact that sometimes you are paying for the convenience and the person's knowledge and skill to resolve the issue. Had a main water leak in front of the house so I knew I was in trouble. Water was seeping out into the cracks of the sidewalk so I knew I was in double trouble. Time to call an honest plumber. Read the glowing reviews on Plumber Bob so I knew who to call. Made a call to him on Monday and had an appointment on Wednesday between 8 - 9am. He showed up at 7:58 am. Didn't even had time to brush my teeth. H got out of the truck and immediately went to the main water meter tank and saw the problem. Asked me if I had a bigger shovel and started digging the area where the soil was saturated. Once he found the leak, got up and gave me a decent quote which I was pleasantly surprised to hear, shook hands and he went to work right away. During small talk, I mentioned to him that my wife was in New York and she asked me last night if the leak was fixed. I told Bob that I lied and said yes that it was and he laughed and said, $100 more for 'lying to your wife'. Bob has a great sense of humor as well and likes a good joke. I felt compelled to leave this review not about Bob's ability because I can't speak to that, but as to his character I can tell you this: I am a professional backflow contractor and after testing a backflow at a residence recently that happened to fail, I left a repair estimate on the customer's door as they were not at home. The customer must have called BOB as he thought it was ok to call me before seven in the morning on a Saturday to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the backflow and that I was ripping people off, and that he knew many other people on the block (since everyone in the neighborhood has a backflow) and was going to let them all know how I'm trying to rip everyone off.. Bob is not a qualified backflow tester and I have no idea how he could possibly determine if there was a problem with the backflow as you could not determine in any way or fashion by looking at it alone. The internal components in the backflow can be failing without any sign of problem on the exterior of it and the ONLY way you could possibly determine if it is failing and needed repair is to test it with a proper test kit and then and only then can you determine if the backflow is passing the test. I take my profession very seriously as a backflow is the water districts line of defense to protecting the water supply from contaminated water getting back into the water you & I drink. I really didn't appreciate BOB's comments and he is totally out of line calling me to make it seem like I'm ripping people off. Shame on you Bob for not knowing the facts and trying to make a judgment on something you are not qualified to do. I have never left a comment on Yelp for anything, but felt compelled to leave this as to the man's character because he has stepped over the line. I have never met this man nor had any interaction with him and I would personally be hesitant to hire this man to do anything for me if he is willing to go to this extreme without just cause because of the blatantly idiotic accusations he made. I had a bad experience with Bob. Here's the short version of the story. I had a leaking toilet and a problem with thek itchen faucet. Wife called and he came by and said we needed to replace both and call him back when we purchase the new ones. OK, no biggie. Seemed like a reasonable guy. We acquired the merchandise from home depot and called. Here's when the debacle started. He was hard to get a hold of. Understood. The guy works hard. We wanted the toilet fixed as not having one working downstairs was becoming an issue. Got a hold of him. He asked me to text him the next day (Tuesday) at 1pm and he would let me know if he can come Wednesday. Texted him but did not hear back till evening Tuesday. He said he could not make it till Friday morning. I asked if 9 was ok (going to disneyland Thursday all day). He said he preferred 8 so we set up for 8. Friday comes and no show. Waited a long while and decided to text. Seemed like he completely forgot about it. So I asked if he could come Saturday. He said 7 am (pretty early for me). Got up at 7 am. Waited an hour and no show, no call, no text. I texted him, my wife texted him and to this day we have not even received a response. Went with another plumber. Toilet and Faucet fixed. You would think it is common courtesy to let your customer know if you can't make it. read more

I highly recommend Bob as a plumber. I am a mechanical engineer and like to do many home repairs myself. But there are some jobs that I know I'm just not qualified for or don't have the right tools. I had a leaking 2" drain pipe from my kitchen sink. The leak was just a few inches above where the pipe goes into the concrete pad that the house sits on. I had three different plumbing companies look at it and they all said I needed to chisel out the concrete around the drain pipe to make a good repair. This was not a job that I wanted to do. Bob's quote was 1/3 of what the other two companies wanted. This combined with his many five star ratings on Yelp convinced me to give him a try. He did the job and it turned out exactly as he said it would. He told me that after 30 years in the business he had done 1,000's like this and I believe him. I finally gave up on my last plumber, who had been doing poor work, price gouging, and flaking out on appointments. Working with Bob was like a breath of fresh air. He was personable, offered to come by on a Saturday - in the middle of his family obligations, and took care of a small but custom plumbing job in a little over an hour. I was impressed with how fast and skilled he was with coming up with a solution to fix mistakes the other plumber had made, re-soldering copper pipe and installing shut off valves where needed. What convinced me to hire Bob was his willingness to come by quickly and offer reasonable hourly rates (versus charging by the job). All the others wanted to charge time and a half for Saturday and after 5pm on weekdays. We WILL be using Bob again for future plumbing needs. read more

My yelp search led me to Plumber Bob. My bathroom is flooded and my boyfriend who fixes everything is of course out of town. Unfortunately, Bob is on vacation, however he was SO helpful!! He took my call and walked me through several steps to try to figure out where the problem is and then referred me to someone that could come out. He was so pleasant and said I could call back if I had any questions, which I did. He didn't answer, but called me back a couple minutes later even though I didn't leave a message. I was looking for a "main cap" and found another pipe with no cap so I called to ask him if it could be the "main cap" even though it didn't meet the description he gave. I needed my sewer line replaced a few months ago and got 5 different companies to come out and give me bids since it was such a big job. They were going to have to trench down 6 feet at the sidewalk, dig under the house, replace over 100 feet of line, open the walls inside, etc... One of them didn't even get back to me with a price and I could tell that a couple of the plumbers were hesitant to take the job. The big companies, where you don't ever meet the owner, seemed capable but the price was way too high. Bob came in with a quote right around what I expected to pay and seemed ready to go. I hired him and he showed up on the days he said he would and completed the job on time, all while dealing with a tenant that wasn't thrilled having people coming and going for a week. He even lowered the price a bit due to his crew hand digging the trench and not having to rent an excavator. He's definitely a professional and will be the only one I call going forward. read more

WOW I cannot say enough great things about Bob! He was very responsive and came to our house within 24 hours of our first phone call. When he got to our house he assessed the situation (which was not good to start with it) He was able to give us an approx. quote for parts and labor on the spot. He stayed true to the estimate and got it done within $45 dollars of his original guesstimate. We had no hot water in our new home for the first two weeks we lived there and when Bob heard that he made it a priority and was at my house earlier than expected the very next day. The whole job was done in less than 5 hours, was to code and perfect, we have hot water! Bob was the 6th plumber we contacted all the others told us it was going to take about 3 days of labor and thousands (yes thousands) of dollars more than what he charged.
