Whenever we needed something our waitress was right there. The show was the real star of the night. The performers were like no other. The musicians are entertaining, but the song choices are only as good as the crowd you're with. It operates like any other piano bar I've been to where the more you tip, the more likely your song will get played. And you can also pay to have a personalized message displayed up on the tv screens around the venue. So the evening could get quite costly! Check the signs for any drink specials. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! Owner Tony Basford is a true showman. He engages his crowd. He welcomes the interaction like singing, dancing, and playing instruments. The vibe is chill and welcoming. It feels like a genuine bond between Tony and his patrons. He makes people feel welcomed and validated. He helps celebrate any occasion and he makes those events even more fun with his good heart. His fellow musicians are cool too! Great vocals, harmonies, rhythms, beats, etc. The lights were appropriate and blended well with the vibe. Every once in a while I was caught in a blinding light beam, but that's just how it goes. The security staff or crowd watching staff helps the herd of people to have fun with minimal chaos. The wait staff keeps everyone efficiently feed and thirst quenched. They pizza was so delicious! And all the drinks were yummy! It is loud, fun, and helps strangers bond through their love of music. Pick a song, add it the playlist , tip generously, or start a "go-fund-me" for a song. When you finally hear your song, it's everything you wanted with an extra special unicorn dust sprinkled by Tony and fellow music magicians! This place is really fun. Getting 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons. 1. The drinks are really expensive. Especially when you charge a cover. I guess I really don't understand a cover charge in any case when people are dropping $20-$40 to hear 1 song. And buy food. And buy drinks. 2. All tables were reserved in advance. I know better for next time to plan better in advance (go on Open Table). I got there at 6:05, literally the first person there after they opened and the lady at the front told me I could just reserve whatever barstools I wanted so I took 10. My party had mostly arrived by 6:30 (still early). Around 7 one of the piano players came over and told us he was taking 3 of our seats and musicians got to reserve seats and if I had an issue to take it up with management. Well that pissed me off because we had been there for an hour at this point and he comes and takes our seats with no apology or sincere explanation. So I took it up with the GM. Luckily, very nice guy, gave us 50% off our food. 3. They didn't start playing until 8 pm and the doors open at 6! So if you don't have a table and you should get there very early if you don't have a table (before 6:30 no cover) then you have to just stand around for 2 hours and spend money? That was very annoying. They weren't even playing music at all. With all of that being said - the piano players are very talented and fun and young. They can literally play anything. The food is actually pretty good. The pizzas are huge. Large enough for 2-3 people. Final thoughts - reserve a table well in advance. Don't show up if you have a table reserved until like 7:30. If you don't have a table reserved get there early. Bring cash. read more

Ugh,.... I wanna love it here, had a great time the first 2 visits. They say they play music based on tip... no I gave $50 on my 3rd and 4th visit and waited 4 hours to NEVER hear it and I kept going up to the piano guys to put MORE money down so the song would get pushed to the top. Never did. The guy was rude and threw my 20 bill onto someone else's ticket. These last visits I came for multiple birthday celebrations and wrote that on the ticket. They literally said happy birthday and sang to everyone else's song multiple times. Wow!! What a fun night. We had a group of 18 stopping in and we all had a great time. Brooke was our server and she was fantastic at keeping our drinks and food orders coming. The place was packed and there was a great energy. People dancing and singing along. There were two ladies rooms - yay girls - no line. I enjoyed a few "you dropped a bomb on me" cocktails that were mixed up nicely. The performers were just great too. Tony and Nikki certainly know how to show everyone a good time. Party time is called to order. Arrived at 7:30 for pre reserved table (was nice to have). People were streaming in like there was free food. Have cash for the cover charge. Calling all men, if you are single this is there place to be. I have never seen so many partying ladies in one place! This is one nob stop action place. The night started with two piano players who played and sang. Soon the drummer joined in. Music is played in request. Most people tipped $20 or more to get a song played with a dedication. I really really really want to love this place... but I can't. The musicians actually suck and you wish they were better so bad! But they just can't EXECUTE. it's like a very good JV concert. The owner is obviously very invested in this pace and I'll leave It to you to pick hIn out...it's hard to miss. Food - awful. Just go after dinner. Music? Gets good after midnight on OCCASION. IF you're on the wrong night you're going to live half fulfilled...I'm sorry - go back and you'll prob love the music. That's how it works. Whether you live in this great state or you're just stopping by for a visit, you absolutely have to make a visit to place a top priority. The customer service and atmosphere are unmatched. This is and will continue to be one of my favorite, if not my favorite spot in Raleigh to go and/or take people to. I also recently had an accidental improper charge on my card after a visit, not only did the owner answer the phone when I called to ask about he, but he himself oversaw the execution of the fix. Great music and great drinks but not a fan of paying $15.00 for a song just for the artist to say it's a song that sucks and won't do it. Definitely a mood killer for me but aside from that $20+ usually will get you your song sooner than other for the artists to play but hopefully what happened to me doesn't happen to others. read more

Really cool atmosphere and fun music! Went there for our girls night because we heard amazing things! However terrible service. My friends tried to order 3 shots and 3 drinks - somehow there was a misunderstanding and the bartender thought they ordered 6 shots (it's loud in there so obviously this can easily happen) When trying to explain the confusion the bartender flipped out and started screaming at us in frustration. Later I tried to order food from the bar, they said after 11 food is ordered from the roaming waitresses. I said okay that's fine and I proceeded to find one. A girl walked by and I asked if she worked there and that I was wanting to order food. She was annoyed and rolled her eyes, and proceeded to take my order. Very disappointing experience. I did see one of the bouncers at the exit go out of his way to give a girl who was pretty drunk a water bottle and made sure she was okay. That was pretty cool instead of just assuming she needed to be kicked out right away. That was pretty cool. read more

A group of us went for a friend's birthday party. I emailed them a week before to see if I could bring a cake but never heard back and they don't answer the phone and have a generic voicemail message and no way to leave a message, it is ridiculous and a poor way to run a business. We get there for opening at 6:30pm and they aren't ready yet, so we have to wait in the rain while the door guy sets up. We get our table and our server is great, she was very nice and the drinks were good. The food was absolutely terrible, so eat beforehand. I went opening night. I expected some hiccups but not this level of unprofessionalism. The bar wasn't stocked and they were unable to make the first 4 drinks I picked off their own menu. I was offered a vodka soda or vodka redbull. Cool thanks. Our food was given to the wrong people and then took another hour + asking twice to get any food at all... and it wasn't the food we ordered. Tables were not bussed, spills & broken glass were not cleaned, and waitstaff never came to our table. We had to leave to get cash because their credit card machine wasn't working only to find out at the end of the night that they in fact did have a working credit card machine, just not the one closest to where we ordered drinks. Ignoring all of that, I am disappointed in the layout of the space. At first I thought it was cool to have the musicians in the center and on display but then realized it restricts flow through the space. If all of the tables are taken, like they were when we arrived, the only open place to stand is in front of the bathrooms. There wasn't a good place to hang coats either. When a table finally opened up and we were ready to dance, we realized there isn't a good dance space either. You have to be in the walkway standing in front of people sitting and they were not happy about that. I missed the layout of the previous bar with a defined stage and dance floor. I'm willing to go back in hopes that the issues from my first paragraph are resolved. Hopefully it will be less crowded (as if that ever happens on Glenwood) so I'll be able to enjoy the music without having to constantly worry about being in a server or other patron's way. read more

I was a little weary walking in just because it has that stale, pukey, college bar smell to it but I was told it was fun and it definitely is. I made a reservation so I could a table right by the pianos. It is very loud so be prepared for that, but it's a great mix of song and comedy and I enjoyed it!
