Panna cotta lychee tea
Ashley L.

The ambiance and interior of this café are fantastic. It's a great spot for studying, working, or catching up with friends thanks to the spacious layout and ample seating. Unfortunately, the drink I ordered didn't quite hit the mark. I went with the lychee panna cotta tea and even at 25% sweetness, it was still much sweeter than I expected. I also wasn't convinced by the panna cotta topping. Rather than incorporating into the drink, it sat in a couple large chunks at the top and didn't add much to the overall experience. The whole lychee fruit was a nice touch in theory, but it became a bit cumbersome to drink as pieces would repeatedly get caught in the straw. While the presentation was appealing, the drink itself felt a bit impractical. That said, I would absolutely come back to give their other beverages a try. Their coffee and matcha offerings look promising, and the space alone makes it worth another visit.

Signature Milk Tea

Plus84 is a cozy yet fun Vietnamese cafe, but I'm torn about how I feel because they use an absurd amount of ice. Maybe a 3.5 rounded up due to high quality. I love their drinks but feel like I'm paying a premium for a few sips as the prices are steep. They use crunchy ice which is dense and compact so it fills cup volume, almost feels strategic with the amount of ice there is compared to regular ice cubes that don't touch every cubic inch. On the bright side, great spot to work with lots of tables, seats, and a clean washroom. Matcha Latte - rich matcha, actually delicious and high quality. Unfortunately I swear I had like 10 sips before I was making loud noises because there was nothing to suction. Honestly a huge frustration but I did like the little sips I had. Plus84 Signature Milk Tea - roasted milk tea that tastes fantastic! Boba is sweet and tasty, but a little firm. Perhaps not fresh or could be cooked a little longer. Similar problem as above with ice though.

Hanoi egg coffee (hot)
Benjamin S.

Because I'm going to Hanoi in the fall, I was excited to try the Hanoi egg coffee at this new spot. I've had egg coffee before and enjoy the creaminess of the egg cream. But when I ordered and asked if they add any milk and if I could substitute, they said the milk is incorporated in the entire drink because it's made from a mix. So I couldn't substitute. I figured I'll take a risk and try, getting the hot version. When it came out, the foam part was tan, and not yellow like other egg coffees I've had. And it was really sweet for my taste. The coffee itself wasn't very strong in roast flavor, maybe because it was overpowered by the sweetness? I couldn't finish this and threw it away because I didn't want to risk drinking more milk for a drink I didn't even like. The vibe is definitely modern and almost like a club, but I found the drink too sweet, and if it's really from a mix, not sure it's worth the $9 (including $1 tip).

Hanoi Egg Coffee

As someone who grew up stealing sips of ca phe out of my Vietnamese grandmother's cup, I would like to think that I'm pretty qualified to say that Plus 84 has amazing Viet coffee! Drink: (4/5) I was headed to a date nearby but was a bit early so I decided to check out Plus 84 for the first time. As a good baseline, I decided to get the Hanoi egg coffee. I also just visited Vietnam in April where I had lotss of egg coffee so I was really excited to try it back home. For starters, the coffee here has great depth. It's sweet but not overbearingly so. It also has that caramelized note that I usually look for. I'd just say that I wish their egg cream had more flavor. At least in the drink I had, the cream seemed more for texture since it didn't have much flavor by itself. I still enjoyed it though and would definitely get it again. Service: (5/5) Super kind people and I barely had to wait for my order. Other notes: If you're new to Viet coffee, please do not chug it or drink it in one sitting. It is powerful stuff. It's the kind of drink you leisurely sip on!

Enjoyed the matcha here while visiting with some friends. The ambiance and service was great!

Egg Pudding Hanoi and Kettle Corn Coffee

I was in the mood for Vietnamese coffee and this place delivers in the much bolder and more intense profile. Vietnamese coffee is typically made with robusta beans, which have higher caffeine and a heavier, almost thick mouthfeel compared to arabica. I ordered their Hanoi Egg coffee and also their Kettle Corn coffee, from the server's recommendations. I found myself noticeably surprised by how there was bittnerness, but it was not too harsh. There were some also some chocolatey undertones in the Egg Hanoi, with the egg pudding. I would have preferred less ice, less egg pudding and more drink. Overall though, it did not take away the flavor for me. As for the vibe, there was Kpop music playing in the background when I visited and multiple tables already occupied from people working on their laptops or sitting down to talk. The aesthetic is minimalist chic - steel tables with that warehouse feel. They do not have pastry options so don't come hungry! This is the spot to go to if you're looking for a quick pick-me-up or a post-meal drink.

Some of the best viet coffee in the area!!! The kettle corn coffee is sooo unique and the kettle corn cream is so delicious and tastes like a sweet corn. The viet coffee is also great with the perfect amount of sweetness and the strong coffee taste

TLDR: price higher than value for drinks. Limited food/snack options. Loudish music. Vibe: Kpop playing in the background, and the ambient sound of conversations. The aesthetic is minimalist grey and industrial. They have Vietnamese coffees, matcha, and fruit teas. For food, they have croissants and some fried snacks. I ordered a panna cotta lychee fruit tea. While ordering, they asked about sugar level, but not ice. I wish I ordered light ice, because the majority of the cup was ice. It's also nugget ice, which interferes if you ordered toppings. All my grass jelly stayed on the bottom. My drink was $8.70 including the grass jelly, and honestly I don't believe the price was justified since I was not even able to enjoy my drink. The tea part was drunk within 10minutes, and then all the toppings were left with all the ice. I had to dump out the ice into the little water cups they have, before I could eat the toppings (grass jelly, lychee, and panna cotta). I felt like I not only had to pay for the drink, I also had to work for it. Such a poor choice for the drink. The background music didn't bother me when I first sat down, but after some time I felt like it was a bit too loud - it ended up being more foreground than background. I also wish they had more pastry options since it's a cafe.

Plus 84 is a modern and chic Vietnamese cafe serving up some unique drinks. To get here, there is street parking all around the area. Inside, they have a beautifully decorated interior with a solid amount of seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different coffee, matcha, fruit, and milk tea drinks to choose from. I ended up getting the Salted Kumquat and wifey got the Roasted Rice Milk Tea. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and will be back forsure next time we are in the area!

Stopped by before an appointment in Seattle and it was fairly empty at 10am on a Wednesday. Service was quick and we got our drinks within 10 minutes. There's plenty of seating here if you are looking for a space to work and I thought it was fairly quiet even with music playing. We tried two iced teas - the salted kumquat and the longan tea - and both are pretty good! The salted kumquat really remind me of the types of tea I had in Vietnam. I would love to come back and try their coffee and matcha.

Initially wanted ube but they only have taro latte which is surprisingly delicious! If you love Vietnamese coffee, this spot is a must-stop in Belltown. PLUS84 totally nails the balance of STRONG, bold coffee and creamy sweetness without making drinks overly sugary. Their menu focuses on Vietnamese coffee, matcha, milk teas, and fun specialty drinks, and everything feels thoughtful and high quality. I got the iced taro latte which didn't taste super sugary and sweet my gf got the egg foam Vietnamese coffee and that was bomb! Its like eating custard with your coffee not super sweet but high airy fluffy foam. The vibes is just as good as the drinks. Went hare on a Thursday afternoon. It's a great place to hangout, work or study. The space is cute, modern, and perfect for hanging out , or taking a quick coffee break while exploring downtown. It's one of those places that feels trendy but still welcoming and relaxed. What stood out most was how rich and flavorful the coffee tasted. Vietnamese coffee can sometimes be intense, but here it's smooth, balanced, and not too sweet. So glad to have stopped by here!

I needed to get some work done and I decided to come here to complete it. The studying/work vibes are perfect here! It might be different if it's on a weekend night since it looks like people like to hangout here. The place is clean and organized and there is a good amount of seating. I had their banh mi and it was good. But I do wish that it had more pork floss and pate. For the sandwich being small and costing $5, I think there should be more portioning involved. The service was okay. The sandwich didn't take long to make. The employees aren't that enthusiastic. I've met the manager multiple times and I wish the other employee's energy/attentiveness was as good as her.

We swung by Plus 84 to quickly pick up a drink on a walk. They have tons of seating and the ambience is open and fresh. We ordered the marble coco. Overall, the menu seemed interesting and the prices were reasonable. We were excited by the ingredients of marble coco and decided to order that. In all honesty, the drink was a bit of a letdown. The coffee jelly they put in the drink was too bitter. The coconut milk and espresso combo in the drink kinda worked but the balance was completely thrown off by the bitter coffee jelly. Giving it three stars since I have only tried one drink, but I am open to trying more drinks to see if it lives up to the hype.

I am relatively new to the matcha game, so I cannot comment on the quality of the matcha. To me, it was lovely. I enjoyed their syrup flavor selection. They were offering a melon matcha which wasn't really up my alley, but I appreciate the creativity. I thought melon was a fruit that was bigger in the winter, but then I think about it, and watermelon is big in the summer. I guess when they said melon, I assumed cantaloupe or honeydew, initially, but who is to say. I forgot I'm in a big city again with the prices, but hey that's the cost of living in a big city. There was a nice restroom (w/ 4 stalls) for customers. I hate when places don't have restrooms or they have tiny 1 stall restrooms. There is lots of seating or working or catching up with friends. It has medium noise level, which I think is perfect for a coffee shop. The staff was friendly, and they made my drink quickly. It is close to Pikes Place, but far enough that there aren't as many crowds.

They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

We were initially enticed to visit Chaco Coffee & Tea given the mention of boba on their website. There aren't many options near Seattle Center, so having an additional one is always welcome! Walking in, unfortunately we found no mention of boba anywhere on the menu. I guess it's a future option or perhaps the website is just wrong, considering that they show photos of rolled ice cream, which they also don't serve. Ordering can be done either in person or at a kiosk near the front. There's plenty of seating and while we entered in the late afternoon, there were still several people inside settled down on laptops. Osmanthus Oolong Tea, 16oz ($6.25) - This is a very lightly sweetened beverage with plenty of fragrant flowery flavor emanating from the osmanthus. It's a really clean flavor, not quite grassy, but somewhat green in essence, coming with just a slight astringent bite towards the finish. It's a good, clean iced tea. (4/5) Da Hong Pao Tea Latte ($7.50) - This latte has a nice strong balanced nutty flavor. I saw the barista pour milk into the cup up to maybe 3/4 full, so I'm surprised that the tea flavor is so strong in this drink. The milk adds tons of body but doesn't contribute an overwhelming dairy flavor. They add a lot more sugar syrup into this drink - it's probably equivalent to 75% sweet or so at a boba shop, although it's not harsh at all due to likely being pure cane syrup instead of fructose. (4/5) The tea quality at Chaco is pretty good. It's always nice to see a cafe (rather than a tea shop) with such great variety! The major downside - pricing is really high especially for some of the premium teas. It's like double the price of actual tea shops in Seattle. I guess that's the Seattle Center tax? Bathrooms - Shared with the rest of the building tenants.
