I wanted a shrimp salad with no tomatoes. The only thing that comes on the salad is protein and tomato, personally they can add a little more...like cucumbers. BUT the main issue, they gave me shredded lettuce for my salad and only like 10 shrimps. It's 2023, why are we using shredded lettuce for salads. Stopped through the drive thru today and ordered a large half and half (shrimp and oyster) po boy. Boy oh boy was that thing huge ! The shrimp po boy was great ! Cooked just right, not breaded too heavy, seasoned well and dressed with just enough mayo, lettuce and tomato. The oyster po boy was alright. Not fried to my liking but seasoned, breaded and dressed well. Their bread is amazing too ! The food was fried and prepared fresh or at least I hope that's why it took so long. The young lady at the window was very friendly and pleasant. She asked about my babies because she could hear them laughing in the back of the truck at their movie. She wanted to see them but because they have visors on their windows I couldn't roll down their window. She was sweet though ! I have been meaning to try out this place for quite awhile now. A few years ago I tried the location on Cedarcrest and wasn't that impressed so I was hoping for better luck with this location. Thankfully, this location turned out to be a much better experience. First, the restaurant is very clean and well put together, which of course I loved. Service was friendly and very fast. So fast I didn't think my food would be hot (like maybe everything was Pre-cooked and waiting to be served, however it was hot and fresh tasting. I ordered the regular sized catfish poboy with fries and a drink. Total came to about $10 and some change which I don't think is bad for the amount of food I had. The poboy itself was tasty. It was dressed with mayo, lettuce, and tomato. The lettuce was shredded iceberg which worked well on the sandwich. The tomatoes were red and delicious. There was also a good bit of catfish on JT too. Overall, it was very good. I ate a half of it and was full but I had to be greedy and eat a few more bites of the other half before I threw in the towel. Overall this was a great experience. Used to consider this the best poboys in Baton Rouge. Always recommended it. Today was VERY disappointing. Had the roast beef supreme and it had 2 slices of roast and 2 of turkey which was one slice on each half. My wife had the New York Steak which was only a few sprinkles of meat and 3 times the jalapeños than meat. She moved all of the meat to half of the poboy and it still didn't fill the bread. My SO and I stopped by this Po Boy Express on our way home from New Orleans while driving though Baton Rouge and we absolutely loved it! I got the catfish Po boy and SO got the catfish plate with fries. We also ordered the fried okra and crawfish pies. It seemed like I got more catfish in my Po boy than my SO got in his plate, but both were super fresh and fried perfectly, crunchy on the outside without being too oily and soft and flaky on the inside, but not mushy. The fries were of medium thickness and seasoned with Cajun seasoning which was excellent and we got so much fried okra! They seemed like they were freshly made, crisp on the outside and mushy they way it should be on the inside. The crawfish pies were like eating a tiny empanada with a gumbo stuffing- pretty good! There are a ton of packaged condiments: lemon juice, crystal hot sauce, ketchup mustard etc. We loved it here and would highly recommend, probably the happiest we've been with a fast food place! read more

Terrible oyster poboy! I paid $12 & there were 5 undercooked oysters on the poboy. Huge gaps on the bread with only lettuce. The oysters were raw in the middle. I contacted the manager Sarah & she wanted me to bring the sandwich back. Sorry not wasting more money to drive 6+ miles to return this nasty sandwich for YOU to make it right. So, let me first clarify, I am not a fan of sandwiches. I also really don't like when I get po-boys and the bread is just SO hard that I have to basically pick out the middle just so it can be edible. I came into this place for a quick bite, and I was actually planning on just ordering a shrimp basket. But the manager suggested I get the shrimp Philly, and oh my goodness was it so delicious! It had just the right amount of cheese, it wasn't full of mayo or anything, and it had a nice kick to it! The bread was soft and tender. It was so good, I'm glad that the manager suggested it ! Also, I don't really eat French fries, but considering how they came with my combo, I ate them with the "special" sauce. I even dipped my po-boy in the sauce. The seating was nice and the facility was clean, (you don't typically expect to see this at a po-boy place), and they had some good oldschool rock jams (yeah, I was jamming out) with soccer games on the screen! I probably eat here at least once a week. It might be the best restaurant on the Siegen Lane strip. They have a great patio area (I love places with good outdoor seating) and the sandwiches are fantastic. I wasn't super impressed with their hamburgers, but I haven't had a bad poboy yet and I've tried most of the menu. They don't fill the fried seafood poboys like they used to, so be adventurous and try some of the other offerings. The steak supreme might be my favorite sandwich in the entire city. It's that good. Other standouts are the Muffuletta (get the full sandwich and share/keep half for leftovers), the NY cheese steak, and the super supreme. Watch out for the market prices! I understand that these days with everything going up in prices from gas, meats and building materials, they also have to do the same to stay afloat. What I did not like is that ALL their items on the menu board were marked at market prices WITHOUT any indication what they might be. I grabbed the print out menu which stated printed prices; so I would expect the final price would be several dollars higher. Ordered a regular size super supreme poboy listed at $6.95, and a combination seafood plate listed at $16.25. Got a real shock with the bill with the above items at $8.50 and $21.99 respectively :( Moral of the story: always have to ask about any market prices so as to be able to make an informed decision. That is why I gave a 3 star review. As for the food, the supreme poboy was fine. The seafood in the combination plate was fresh. I also ordered a side of meat pies. The combo is supposed to come with french fries and a drink. I told her I wanted unsweetened tea and half lemonade for my drink. So I pulled up to the window and she told me it was 38.00? I was dumbfounded. I said how much was the large combo? She said 18.00. I said that has to be a mistake. It's 18.00 for a po-boy, fries and a drink? She said yes. I couldn't believe it. Mother's in New Orleans, which is a tourist trap, doesn't even charge 18.00 for a po-boy, fries and a drink. So she handed me my drink, and I tasted it. It was unsweetened tea, without any lemonade, so I gave it back to her so she could get my order straight. Upon driving away, my son gave me the order of meat pies first. There were three of them and each one was about the size of a tea bag. Four dollars for three tea bag sized meat pies. My son gave me my sandwich. It's not made on real french bread, but more like an oversized toasted hot dog bun. My sandwich had tomatoes of course, and my son's french fries were missing from his combo. The gravy came on the side in a plastic cup and was barely enough to cover the po-boy. Half way into his sandwich, my son found a hair and lost his appetite. So there you go. I'm a po-boy expert from New Orleans, and this is about as bad as it gets.
