Yum, yum, yum. This is my favorite place to get a shrimp poboy in BR. The shrimp are seasoned well and crunchy. The fries are seasoned with Tony's, or something similar. They load shrimp on, and a ton always fall off while I eat...that's how many shrimp they put on there. A half of a regular fills me up just fine. I would eat here more often if it weren't for trying to keep my waistline in check. I paid $10.65 for a regular shrimp poboy, small fries, and a drink. It's enough for 2 meals for me, so I consider that a great deal. I love that they have a drive thru. read more

Pros: fast service, clean overall, friendly staff. Onion rings were a hit Cons: smelled like sewage inside, bathroom sink water was so hot it was steaming and unable to be adjusted. Food was ok - shrimp had the fish fry type breading, which isn't so good. read more

This is a favorite destination when friends come to visit on the weekend. The food is fast, tasty, and affordable. The staff is friendly and the seating area is comfortable. We love the side dishes and the large sandwiches are big enough to split between couples. read more

This place is a tradition every time I come to Baton Rouge. The cheeseburger po boy and loaded roast beef are pretty good, but the shrimp po boy is PHENOM. I get it every time and I love the shredded lettuce and mayo...the bread is delicious. Be aware, the large sandwich is huge and easily feeds two...I usually split it with someone else. The onion rings are also amazing, they're kind of straw-like and come with a zesty spicy sauce. Overall you will never be disappointed eating here! read more

I tried the shrimp cheese steak poboy on wheat. It's grilled shrimp, cheese, and a few grilled veggies. It was fairly simple and also delicious. I usually get the grilled shrimp poboy at Sammys in Central and I must say that the PBE version was tastier and cheaper. I got the onion rings which were homemade. They were skinny and crispy. I'd definitely get the same meal again. My husband got a regular fried shrimp plate and enjoyed it. It comes in a to go box with fries and a piece of toast. The only negative, and it wasn't the food, was the bathroom was filthy. But to be fair, it was near closing time. read more

This review is only about the burgers. They buy frozen patties and serve them to you. Just go to McDonalds for that type of food.

If there is a complaint, you won't hear it from me. The food was great. I hadn't had a poboy that big in a long time. We ordered a large shrimp poboy with a side of fries to share. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the to-go box and saw how big the poboy was. We could've split of 4 ways if we needed to. The fries were tasty, seasoned well and not overly greasy. We went through the drive thru, which was super convenient and we waited for a bit, which was fine because had the food come too fast, I would've been leery. Very expensive for almost unedible food. I ordered a catfish plate with onion rings on a sunday evening. The fish was almost cold. The grease from the onion rings and fish must have been used all weekend because it tasted old. I will probably be sick from all the grease. read more

I ordered two regular sized shrimp po boys and one large. The large is gigantic! I think it's the size of two regular sized. The onion rings are just bigger than onion strings, have some seasoning in the batter and are excellent. My kids and I loved all of it and so did everyone else that picked at what we couldn't finish. read more

All good! Split a shrimp po boy and an oyster po boy. Both were very good. Got the wife a muffalata to go and it smells delicious. This place is absolutely amazing. They have a nice selection of menu items to choose from. My friends abd i had the NY Cheesesteak, the Shrimp Po Boy and the Catfish Po Boy. The food is super fresh, the fried mushrooms and fried okra was to die for. The person that took our order was very patient and friendly and this was our first time here. I just finished my second meal at P.O. Boy Express on seigan lane. My second and final meal there ! When ordering I decided to try their roast beef and turkey P.O. boy. Don't do it! When I received the sandwich I noticed it appeared very flat, unlike traditional New Orleans poboys, such as short stop in Metairie. But, I started to eat anyway. After a few bites, it appeared the slices of meat were very thin. I still remained patient and continued eating. As I started on the second half of the sandwich, I found it lacked something and opened it up. There was one very thin slice of processed roast beef and NO turkey on this half. I couldn't continue. I went to the counter and complained. Counter person says, should be two slices of meat on it. I showed her it had no turkey on it. She just looked at me with no offer of any assistance. Although I finished the sandwich, which cost $12 with drink and fries, I will never go to the "Best poboy in town" again. What I did get to consume was hardly the best, more like a circle K pre made sandwich. Take my advice, not worth the trouble or the money. Too many good spots close by. Yuck! read more

When ordering I asked if the onion rings were thick cut and the guy said yes. He seemed a bit confused anyway as to where he worked, wearing a Raising Cane's shirt, which eating there may have been a better choice. We're don't drink sodas and wanted tea and kids wanted lemonade. They were out of the lemonade, then we tried the unsweet tea, and sweet tea... out of all three. The guy said it would be 10 to15 minutes to make the lemonade. He said he co of get the teas done quickly. We were there for almost 45 minutes and no lemonade was made. We did get our order, my wife and I split a large shrimp poboy. Only problem was there were hardly any shrimp. I basically paid $14 for a large loaf of bread, 4 slices of tomato, and shredded lettuce with a few fried shrimp. It was stingy. It's few and far between that I say I will never go back to a place, but I will not go back to this place. The fried shrimp tasted good, but way over priced for what you get. I would rather go to a better local spot. My son ordered a regular size fried oyster poboy, which was loaded. The onion rings are thin cut like strings. The french fries were soggy like they sat in water and they were cooked just enough to be served. read more

Today a Co worker and I decided to try Po Boy Express for lunch and im so glad we did! I tried the N.Y Cheese Steak & she purchased the Steak Supreme. The food was so fresh & delicious.
