This time its going to cost me money. I need to empty the unit and have a tow truck dump it in the street aft er i unload it and put my belongings in a unit from a competitor who can pick it up the same day I call. In response to PODS: If Adam knew that we couldn't have it dropped off, as he mentioned, and that other customers faced similar issues, how come we were not notified ahead of time? Our friends guessed that PODS knew about this policy in San Diego but chose not to disclose it to us until day of arrival because we would be more reluctant to use PODS if we knew it was so much hassle. That's just bad customer service, besides, PODS rep didn't mention a thing when I confirmed about street parking twice. Also, Adam mentioned, technically he could have dropped it off but PODS had to pick up on same day, and I asked him to do that but in order to schedule same day pick up, I had to schedule it a few days ahead of time, so he refused since he wasn't aware about same day pick up scheduled by PODS rep. So, technically, PODS could have told me about the issue and told me to arrange same day pick up wayyy ahead of time and PODS should know that this has been an issue as so many customers posted it on Yelp review for San Diego location. DO NOT USE PODS!!!The delivery driver hit my redwood porch/deck with the hydraulic lift. He actually lifted the deck off its foundation and moved it a couple of inches and it rammed into the foundation of the house. The customer service rep said to send pictures and get 2 repair estimates. I sent pictures and estimates and both contractors said the porch is not "fixable" and needs to be rebuilt and further damage to the house will need to be assessed when the porch is removed. This is a million $ plus property and the porch is the only entry/exit to the house and is unstable. A month later, PODS is now saying contact my homeowners insurance to get it repaired, which will mean my insurance premiums will go up!!! PODS needs to full fill its contract and take responsibility for the damage it has done... read more

Horrible, horrible experience. I think the worst I experience with any company I have had in the 85 years I've been on this earth! Delivered empty box on time - yay. Roll-up door difficult to operate, either opening or closing. When closed, could not latch it because it was cocked so that only one side was down all the way. Three calls to cusyomer-no service, all on the same day: Call 1 scheduled someone to come out the next day. This call was made at 8am. Call 2, a couple hours later: "Gee, I'm sorry you're having problems with our box, but that's life - you'll just have to live with it. After call 2, they sent Julio to fix the problem. Julio did not want to hear what I had to say, nor see what I had to show him. He simply walked up to the door, tugged on it to see it wasn't budging, then stepped back and attacked it like he was a NFL offensive lineman opening up a hole for his QB to run through. BAM, it opened! "What did you do?" I asked. He closed it and attacked it again. I will say he tried to coach me, but it wasn't opening for me. When I asked if alltheir doors operated this way, Julio responded, "Hey, I opened it! Why can't you?!" I told him there was another solution, beginning with him getting off my property immediately. I went in the house and called a real moving company. Call 3: This guy seemed genuinely concerned, when I called to tell them they are fired, and they need to take this piece of trash off my property. After telling him of call 2 & Julio, he called the local facility to schedule pick-up 1st thing next morning. He also coordinated with billing to refund the rest of the 1st month rent ( I only had it on my driveway for 3 days). It's been 2 weeks and I haven't seen any refund. Pickup: 1st thing next morning, 2 guys, including supervisor Willie, showed up to haul it away. He also seemed to be concerned when I told him of my experience, including Julio. Unfortunately, I doubt anything has resulted from Willie's visit. Haven't heard a word from PODS, and don't expect to. On a visit to their website, I recall seeing a statement that PODS is not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. I can now understand why. David Butler read more

Our experience with PODS was wildly disappointing. We were planning a cross country move and booked our PODS early. 1 week before the move, they changed our pick up date (could see online and good thing I checked) to a day earlier without notifying us, not very helpful when intricately planning a move. When I called to figure out what happened, they apologized, admitted their mistake but said now all the pick ups for our original date were scheduled for others and there was nothing they could do. This was very frustrating, but at least we caught it early and could plan accordingly. Then the date of our drop-off arrives. The driver arrives 6 hours early, after giving us a 2:30-5:30pm window, he arrives at 8:20 am, not the worst thing in the world, because one of us was home but still shows that every word or assurance they give you means nothing. The driver then declares that he would not deliver the POD because we did not have the space. We have a giant driveway with more than enough space, a space we had confirmed through photos with PODS staff on our multiple calls with them to ensure this went smoothly. The driver seemed to imply that if we gave him some cash right at that moment, he could make something work. HE TRIED TO EXTORT ME ON MY OWN DRIVEWAY, after they had already auto charged for delivery, that never took place, storage which never took place, contents protection which we didn't need because we never even got to open the door. They auto charged over 500 dollars, then the driver took it upon himself to ask for a quick payment under the table to him so he would complete his job. When we said we had already paid and the folks we had spent so much time on the phone with at PODS said the location was fine, he said I make the final decision. I said we are moving on Friday, to which he replied "good thing its Tuesday." and then got in his truck and left. I am currently trying to recover the money they automatically removed from my account, but do not use them THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DELIVER ANYTHING THEY PROMISE. Their driver literally tried to shake us down in our driveway and now we are scrambling to find another way to move across the country with days notice. They do not want to help you move, they do not want to provide you service, they want to you get signed up early, you have to choose autopay, then they do not deliver anything you agreed upon. Stay away! My pods pickup was cancelled after I scheduled it, and now there's no availability for 2 weeks and apparently nothing can be done about it. This is also screwing over my property management company because they allowed pods to use another residents parking spaces, and now they cannot access those spaces for a ridiculous amount of time. DO NOT USE PODS. Unfortunately I have had the WORST experience with pods. I had a pod delivered for me to load up about 3 months ago, scheduling my delivery ahead of time. I moved from and to the same zip code. Checked and my pod was good to deliver. On the day of the delivery, during the delivery time, I called pods and could not get any assistance to get a more accurate time and asked to have the driver call me. 2 hours later the driver called and said that he would not be delivering the pod and that I would need to get a moving truck and got get my stuff my self and the storage facility. They charged mean extra month after they didn't drop of my pod AND wouldn't schedule my pod to even be on the ground at my earliest convenience. And try getting a supervisor on the phone!!! HA. That's a joke, they literally will not come to the phone. They say they will call you back in 24-48 hours and then don't. This cost me an extra $1000. No joke. Do not use pods. read more

This company could not accommodate my dates. They also did not call to let me know they could not accommodate me and acted as though my move was not important. They took 4 days to refund my deposit that I needed to make other arrangements. When I called inquiring about my refund that I was promised within 2 days the pods guy hung up on me!!! read more

We scheduled a 16' POD to be delivered on 2/12/2021. I scheduled a month in advance and confirmed with a representative several days in advance of the delivery date that it would be delivered on Friday 2/12. We needed it on Friday to pack it over the weekend. On 2/11 they unilaterally sent an email informing me they wouldn't deliver until 2/18, a week later. No call. No text. Just an email that it had been rescheduled. WHAT? I called and spoke to a representative who told me that they're having staffing issues and the notes in her computer stated that someone "attempted" to call and leave a voice message. I always watch for messages and clear them, i.e. my voicemail is never full. Nobody ever left me a voice message. In short, the person who wrote the note in the PODS computer lied and now I'm stuck for a week. I can understand the 3 hour window of time may change during the day of delivery, but to unilaterally send an email and state, oh by the way, we've just rescheduled you to 6 days later without caring about you at all is a little much. At this point I do not trust at all that they'll show up on 2/18 or ever. Who knows if they'll unilaterally reschedule multiple more times. Very concerned here. I thought this would be a great solution for us but now have serious concerns about this choice. read more

DO NOT USE PODS!!!!!! Zero stars Worst company. Made our move beyond stressful with their horrible excuses. Waste of money! We only used pods because we moved from VA to CA and driving a Uhaul didn't seem like a good idea at the time. (Although, now I rather of done that) 1. They don't deliver on Sunday so of course you need to take a day off work. 2. Our truck that had 4 PODs on it got stopped for 3 whole days at the CA border due to a snail... yes you read that correctly. A snail being on the side of the POD. Also make sure you fill out the gypsy moth form. They don't know the logistics of what happens to your POD if the "animal" is an invasive species. 4. They CANNOT deliver to downtown, which of course they didn't tell us. Still waiting to get money back since we didn't need it redelivered. 5. Make sure you hound them on getting the weights if you are doing a Military move. Because of course they didn't get a "full" weight and we need to wait another 3 days until they can take it to a weight station. DO NOT RECOMMEND to Military. 6. Now we have to spend even more money rent a uhaul to load our things so we can get it to our home. 7. So we've had to live in an empty apt for a week since PODs is so unreliable and it's been just one excuse after another from PODs and each issue causes a delay. Oh my favorite is when you have any question they say they need to "email" logistics and wait for a response.... no phone calls only email. Which in our case often took over 24 hours to get a response because they didn't even know where our POD was. They don't use geotrackers. read more

UPDATE: The news is mixed, unfortunately. After several Yelp message exchanges -- I received a refund of the month's rent I paid less than a week ahead of the POD's delivery. I was also assured a refund of the delivery charge itself -- $126 -- but that never materialized. Would it be wiser to offer GOOD customer service instead of paying people off afterwards?? Seems like an odd customer service strategy ... As someone in the OD/ID fields, I'm totally baffled by the approach. ============================================== Sadly ... I don't actually know from which facility in San Diego my POD was delivered ... but here's the good and the bad about my experience. The POD was originally delivered in February to the house in PHOENIX that we sold -- and it was stored in the Phoenix area until 3 weeks ago (late May), when it was ultimately shipped to San Diego for delivery to our home in Bay Park on Thursday, June 8. The Phoenix portion of my PODS experience was exceptionally good; the person who delivered the POD was friendly, professional, prompt ... and more. Sadly, the San Diego portion was FAR from exceptional. I was in constant communication with PODS throughout the 3+ months start-to-finish interval, and at no time were we too that the POD couldn't be placed on the street. We live in an older neighborhood -- where the driveways are both narrow and short -- so from the start I was very clear about where the POD had to e dropped. When did we find out that might not happen? 30 minutes ahead of the driver's arrival (after, of course, his flat tire and a litany of other "sorry I'm late" excuses). Lengthy phone calls with PODS did nothing to improve the situation ... so we ultimately took matters into our hands. When the POD arrived and it was clear to EVERYONE that it couldn't fit on the driveway (and with the driver already stressed about the remaining loads on his route since he was way behind schedule), it was, of course, set exactly where we wanted it... and there it remained for 30 hours until the pick-up this morning. I will find it challenging to recommend the San Diego side to anyone needing temporary storage. read more

I Tried to Put 0 starts they don't have that option. When I first called PODS I was looking for a different state move the first call was ok, but after that all they want is your Money. No good costumer service and they will charge you for extra stuff that you are not aware. I will never, ever do business with PODS again. They charged me for an extra month, because they didn't get my pod to my destination on time and they put the schedule together for my delivery, and still charge me for the extra month(309 Dollars) for one extra day. i called everyday for 2 weeks straight and no one seem to care what I had to say. Do not use PODS. The stresses and costs of any move can be reduced if you do not use their services. They were extremely willing to calm and cajole that everything would go smoothly during the initial quote process. Yet they failed to inform me that a PODS container cannot be delivered on a San Diego street. Customer Service was of no help to get the matter of redelivery resolved and cost me more time and energy calling the City of San Diego to try a way around this. I ended up having to rent a moving truck and movers just to get my belongings out of the container at their facility. It's unfortunate that PODS puts this onus on their San Diego employees knowing full well they could prevent a lot of anger, frustration, and costs if they were up front with customers. Upon filing a complaint with an account specialist, I was told this was all my fault because I should have known that San Diego had these restrictions. Furthermore, I was charged a redelivery fee when a redelivery never occurred. Rent a truck, movers, anything, just don't use PODS. read more

My husband and I moved to CA from MA and decided to use PODS. At first it seemed great, they would come and drop off the POD for us to fill it up (that went fine), and then pick up the POD and deliver it to our new apartment on the 10th ( we would be arriving on the 4th). The day the POD was supposed to be on a truck and out to CA we received a voice mail stating we never filled out a gypsy moth form. We weren't aware we needed to. We tried to get in touch with the person that had initially called us but each time it went right to voice mail. Our only other option was to call the customer service number which it turns out is the only way to get in touch with anyone at the company. There is no outgoing calls or e-mails, so if you lose service or the call is disconnected (which happened to us several times) you have to go through the entire process all over again. Each time we called to ask about the gypsy moth form and figure out how to get it to them we had to wait 30-40 minutes to talk with a representative due to "above average call volumes". Their system is archaic and there was no way for me to fill out this form electronically or any other way besides printing it out, filling it out and faxing it back in. At this time we were driving across the country and had no access to a fax machine so our shipment was delayed 6 days while I tried to download an app to fill it out then e-mail it back to them. I tried sending a picture of the form filled out but they said they couldn't accept a picture file, then told us the next time we sent it as a JPEG that the writing on the font was too light and if we could darken it up. Each time I had to call them to check on the form and be updated on it's status it was another 30-40 min wait. This took over 6 days to accomplish so now our POD is delayed 6 days. I wish that was the end to our horrible experience but it wasn't. I made sure to go out of my way to make sure the POD would be delivered on the 16th. I gave the associate our address and told him where the people dropping off the POD can put it (on the curb of our private apt complex as we were instructed by management) and he assured us it would be fine. We received confirmation email the night prior followed by a phone call the next morning (morning of the 16th) telling us they would not be dropping off the POD to our location because it is not a loading zone even though building management said it was OK. I called PODs supervisor and they told me there was nothing they could do and that my only option was to go to the storage unit and unload everything from there myself. Also we had been already charged for a delivery that didn't occur and they told us that's because they charge the delivery fee 5 days in advance. (Still hasn't been refunded like they said it would) So now I'm stuck and have to wait another 4 days to go to their facility and unload everything from there bring it back to my apartment and load it in. Management did nothing to try and correct nor go out of their way to tell the truck dropping off the POD that the placement was OK even though it wasn't a loading zone. I also offered to take up the liability of the tow knowing that wouldn't happen and still was told no. So I ended up having to spend more money to hire movers to go pick up the boxes and bring them to my apt. I can't tell you how disappointed me and my husband were and are with this company. Their customer service is terrible and it makes no sense that there is only one line in and that there is no way for customer service to call you back if your disconnected or e-mail you. Then there's the ridiculous wait time. If you live in an apartment complex with accessible and free parking spaces you won't have any trouble with the POD delivery. but if you do not, don't bother hiring PODs, they won't drop it off otherwise and you basically lose the whole benefit to having a POD. I would have appreciated any type of accommodation made to have fixed or helped with our horrible experience by management, that would have probably made the difference in me writing such a negative review. However, that was not my experience. I have already told friends and family to not use this company and I would encourage the same for you. read more

I opened a matter with PODS billing over a month ago because the charged the wrong amounts to my credit card. They said they would take care of it immediately. They did nothing. Now they have charged the same wrong amount for the second month. Terrible customer service, terrible company to knowingly charge wrong amounts and hope that the customers are just too tired or too beaten down to do anything about it. read more

When I originally planned my move, I was relieved at thinking that my moving stress would be alleviated or at least tempered by the support of PODS. The day the POD was scheduled I received a call 30 minutes before its drop off time to be told that the POD would not be dropped off due to restrictions on my street. This was something that the POD service representative was aware of yet failed to tell me. Long story short, after much freaking out I had to rent a Uhaul to drive the PODS service location. At the location I was confronted by a very rude man Tyrice who claimed he was the manager. He told me that he had "heard about me" and didn't care that I had had a bad experience with PODS and that I didn't need to take the POD. Naturally I was flabbergasted at this man's absolute disgusting behavior and I felt physically threatened when he stepped closer to tell me that he didn't need to deal with me. He then picked up the POD with the forklift and drove off. I had to call the service center and was told by the customer service representative that because I was rude and angry that Tyrice's behavior was acceptable. Needless to say I left without a POD, Uhaul bill, and screwed for a moving container. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

I moved from the Seattle area to Orange County ca. When I got to Orange County I put my POD in the PODs local storage. About a month later we scheduled to deliver our POD to our new location in San Diego Ca. A couple of days before our scheduled delivery PODs didn't automatically deduct the payment as expected. So we called to make sure everything was ok. They didn't have our POD scheduled anymore and they couldn't locate it... Plus they wouldn't let us make a payment because our account had gone into "triage" and they couldn't explain why. The only explanation we received was "it was a new system". We were told that someone was working on our account and would contact us as soon as it was fixed. We had to sleep in a hotel with our children for 4 days because we had no furniture for our new home. Finally after 5 phone calls to PODS 3 whole months of no contact from them... and no help from ANYONE we get a bill from a COLLECTIONS agency for $1400. The worst moving experience ever. No one knows what's going on and no one wants to help. I would never recommend anyone to use this company. read more

This is the worst company I have ever delt with. Remember that if you put your belongings in a pod. The pod may not be able to be delivered wherever you end up moving to. If that turns out to be the case they will not help you. You must have 12' wide by 15' tall or they can't deliver it. They also cannot put it on the street, so basically no where in San Diego. Why do they even have a location here when their product can't be used here? I went to their location to get help but all the doors are locked and no one will answer. The customer service reps are very nice but offer no solutions. You can't speak to anyone local. They basically hold your furniture hostage so they can bill you every month. Stay away! read more

This is THE WORST company I have ever dealt with. I was hoping for a smooth experience and got the complete opposite. I called PODS on Mon. Dec. 14th, 2015 to schedule the delivery of the POD to my home for Sat. Jan. 9th, 2016. The young man I spoke with stated that I could schedule the pick-up whenever I knew the date and I said that I already knew I needed it to be picked up on Thursday, Jan. 14th, 2016. He assured me everything was set, and that I could log-on to my account online and check everything. I then received an email stating there would be a system shut-down from THURS. Jan. 7th, 2016 - MON. Jan. 11th, 2016. Apparently this system switch-over is what they claim created the following disasters. FIRST, I had specified that I needed my container picked up from my home on THURSDAY Jan. 14th because I had already booked my flights to leave on FRIDAY Jan. 15th. I realized that every time I logged in to my account, it didn't state the pick-up date. So I called and waited FOREVER (literally almost 45minutes) for someone to pick up and tell me that I never scheduled the pick-up date. I WAS FURIOUS. I told them they needed to go back and check the original phone call because I KNOW I gave the date. They had a "resolution" team member call me and tell me that I didn't specify the date on the call, and when I asked to hear the call myself, they said NO. How convenient for them. At this point I was at their mercy and had no choice but to change my flights and wait for them to pick-up the container, which they made happen, the afternoon of the 15th. The least they could have done was pay for my flight change but all I was offered was a $75 credit. I thought it would be over, but I was sorely mistaken. IT ONLY GOT WORSE. I arrived at my destination (San Diego) and called them as soon as I found my permanent residence to ask for the first available delivery date. I was given the date of FRI. Jan. 29th. I also stated that my complex did not allow overnight storage of the container so I needed a same-day pick-up. They notified me of the $75 charge and said it would be dropped off early morning between 8-10am and had to be picked up by 1pm, which only gave me a couple of hours to unload. At this point I just wanted to be rid of this horrible company. They told me I would receive an email AND a phone call to confirm the delivery. I never got either of those. Friday Jan. 29th came around and I stayed home from work in order to unload the POD. It was 9am and I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called and waited FOREVER again to finally get someone on the phone only to tell me that they couldn't get a hold of the driver that was supposed to be bringing my things and all they could do was call me as soon as they heard back from someone. I never heard from anyone that day and needless to say, my POD did not arrive. Again, I WAS FURIOUS. I called the next day (Saturday, Jan. 30th) asking why no one contacted me back to let me know what was going on, and I was told: "because we never heard back from the driver or the warehouse either". SO, I asked when exactly I could RE-SCHEDULE my delivery and I was given the date of MON. Feb. 1st. Once again, I reminded them I needed same-day delivery and pick-up and was assured that's what I would get. Monday morning came and again, NO email, NO phone call. This is the SECOND day my wife and I had to take off of work, and still PODS is nowhere to be found. I got on the phone AGAIN waited for almost an hour AGAIN to speak to someone who said that not only were they unable to reach the driver or the warehouse AGAIN, but my POD was not scheduled for same-day delivery and pick-up as I had requested SEVERAL TIMES. I asked to speak to someone with a little more authority because by now I was beyond upset and disappointed. I paid SO much money and the service I had been receiving was definitely NOT worth it. I was put on hold for another 15 minutes, apart from the original 45 that I waited before, to speak with another "resolution" team member who said all they could do was try to contact the driver or warehouse again and call me back when they heard from them. PODS idea of a "resolution" is a joke. I insisted they give me the number but they said they couldn't. I then insisted they continue calling them until they got a response and that I would wait all day on the phone with them if I had to. Of course that's when they tell me that FINALLY my POD will be delivered TUES. Feb. 2nd and again assured me it would be picked up that same afternoon. SO AGAIN my wife and I had to take off ANOTHER day from work (a total of 3 days now). I finally received a call from the driver that "morning" who did not arrive until 11am (when I was told it would be between 8am-10am. Were I not limited to a certain amount of characters in this entry I would go on about the rest of the tremendous INCONVENIENCE this company caused me and my family. I had scheduled a Pod months in advance and was happy with the customer service provided at the time of reservation. Appx a month before, my move fell through. I cancelled 8 days prior (you only need 24 hour advance notice for a full refund). Suddenly my account is overdrafted and I find a $515 charge from Pods a few days before my CANCELLED delivery. I sat on hold for an hour and 20 minutes because they were experiencing high call volume (yes I'm crazy for waiting an hour 20, but I was so furious each 10 min increment, I refused to lose my place in line). Long story short, I have spoken with them at least 5 times over the past 3 WEEKS. After 2 weeks, I was refunded only $302 of the $515. Finally getting through to them ANOTHER WEEK LATER, they said there was some sort of error and they withheld the late cancellation fee. So again I'm told a message will be sent to billing and it will be addressed. Well, here I am still short $213. IMO, $515 is a lot to withhold from somebody when nothing was owed to begin with. I've had to break into my savings to cover bills thanks to their inability to adequately and timely refund me. How hard can it be?! I will say every person I've contacted has been friendly and 'sincere,' but that doesn't fix my bills due. They claim the issue was a software 'upgrade.' At this point, I could careless what the excuse is. REFUND MY MONEY!!!!! (And some for the huge inconvenience, HOURS spent on the phone with them, and overall frustration of having to deal with this!) read more

Had to store our POD for a year while waiting to select a permanent residence in our new location. Arranged to empty POD at their Mission Gorge Road depot and transfer contents into a Ryder truck for transport to new home in Arizona thus saving $1,000 + taking care of this myself. Personnel at the depot were less than helpful and cranky. Months later my account was debited by PODS charging me for a month's storage after it was emptied. Calling their headquarters, I was transferred several times enduring automated prompts and less than helpful "service" representatives. . . 33 minutes most of which was spent on hold. Finally was advised that they would have to call San Diego depot to confirm that the POD was indeed emptied months ago. I am writing this 2 hours now after receiving promise from Representative to call me back. Still waiting! read more

After getting multiple estimates from local distinguished moving companies, I took the best decisions to get information about pods, with no personals referral only websites. We choose pods because the price was only a third of the price of moving companies, yes, way more cheaper. Ok, we were not sure about how is going to be... everything was professional and perfect on time. The pod arrived the estimated day,stayed in our dryway for about 2 weeks until we loaded and tied perfect all our stuff, after the picked up and took it to their storage facility for a week because we moved out of town and we were waiting to close escrow in the new property. Our pod arrived to our new property on the estimated time, stayed again for 1 week until unloaded and they picked up the empty pod!!! Yes, easy as is, the only thing you need to do is to do online or by phone the day and time arrangements for drop and pickup your pod! ... another thing! I chose PODS primarily because I have seen several of their units near our place. The delivery was within a day of the date we had requested. However the PODS mover had a mechanical issue which made it difficult to place exactly where wanted...still useable. The POD served its purpose and it was time to send it back. Since the indidual PODS places, reportedly, have secret phone numbers I called the omnibus number. Earliest pickup is nearly 2 weeks away...magically at the beginning of the next billing cycle. When I complained about this and that I did not want to be billed for another month of use when I have already called for pickup. After being put on hold the male, who is in Clearwater, FL, said that he had made a note to not charge me for another month...and then went on to explain that this is a busy time of year, equipment problems, etc...and that the pickup date is still nearly 2 weeks away. What a strange way to run a business. Unused assets sitting around in the customer's driveway. No local numbers in case of an issue. Inconvenience to customer who will recommend a more responsive storage "solution" company rather than PODS. read more

If I could leave negative stars, I would. My service with PODS was the worst moving experience of my LIFE. Coming from Chicago, I had very limited resources and used every dime to fund my move. I even got help from church, family and friends to assist with my move. After we raised just enough to help fund my transition, PODS tells me that the "quote" i previously got wasnt correct and that there were "other fees" that were to be included in the shipment. Once I heard this news, i couldn't give up. I got a summer job to help fund the hidden fees and even STILL issues always came up with this company. On the final month of delivery, with little to no money, I set up a payment arrangement to ensure that the final payment would align with my paycheck from work. I spoke with the COMPANYS SUPERVISOR who ensured me that the payment arrangement would go according to the set date and to my (horrible) surprise, the payment was processed early and my order was cancelled. After almost $2500+ dollars, they had the AUDACITY to cancel my order. Devastated. Scared. Frustrated-And at a loss for words, I called again and spoke to ANOTHER supervisor who had no idea why the order processed. After clearing up (yet again) another mistake by this company, I was ensured that everything would run smoothly and that my shipment would be delivered in time. Once I get to San Diego, Im waiting to hear from the driver for my delivery and guesssss what? They had no idea what I was talking about. Is this a legitimate company we're dealing with? After ANOTHER episode of back and forth, horrible customer service, and another "supervisor", my order was delivered. I know this a long review, but I *PRAY* that nobody has to experience what I did with such a scary move. I just received my two pods yesterday while I was away from home. I ordered two padlocks and only received one. To fix the problem, they credited the money for the padlock that was missing, but wouldn't do anything else such as drop off the second lock or ship one. At least with the one padlock, I know what to get now... They delivered a 1 1/2" 40mm lock. I think a 1 9/16" 40mm lock will work too which are more common. So far otherwise I haven't had problems. I could write a catalog about the variety of problems we encountered in storing our household possessions in two PODS for 11 months while building a new house. For starters, communication with PODS was very cumbersome and time-consuming. After setting up the initial account, I never was able to reach any PODS personnel locally in their San Diego operation; all calls went directly to their headquarters staff in Florida. When the time came to arrange delivery of the PODS to our new address, PODS said they couldn't park our two PODS on the street in front of our house, even though we had seen a PODS container parked on the street in front of a house here in our same neighborhood just a few months prior. PODS said we'd have to contact the City to get permission, and that they had no idea which city office to contact. Two days of calling around to City offices was fruitless, so we had to hire a moving van and two guys at $360 to go to the PODS storage facility and get our stuff out. Every item inside that was not sealed within its own container was covered with a layer of grit. To top if off, after we closed our PODS account, they charged us one more month's storage fee. They've promised to reverse that charge; of course, that necessitated several time-consuming attempts to reach them via Live Chat and two phone calls. read more

I moved and signed up for PODS. I paid them $189 a month with the deal being that they would deliver the pod and pick it up at my old house and new house. After moving into my house I realized I couldn't get the pod delivered in my driveway because the pod would overhang into the street, my side yard has too low of an overhang on the car port, and the city will not allow for them to park the pod on my street. I called the main line of which you are always on hold for 30 minutes and worst of all the arrogant bastards say over and over due to the popularity of our services that is why you are on hold. I told them I could save them money and get 10 people over to my house and have the driver simply wait for 20 or 30 minutes while we simply move the stuff out of the pod and put it on my yard temporarily. They could then simply take it away saving them from having to send someone out three days later to pick it up. The area manager refused and I was not allowed to talk to them, and I was only allowed to talk to the worthless resolution specialist who sounded as motivated as a sloth. Now I have to get trucks to drive to the POD center to get my items out. I provided a reasonable solution and they completely disappointed me. I only wish I would have wasted there time and money and had their driver come out to then take my pod back. PLEASE USE ANOTHER COMPANY WHEN MOVING THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
