This was where I had my first poke bowl about 4 years ago and was where I fell in love with poke! I loved Poke Dot because they had cilantro! One of the few spots that did. But I went not too long ago post covid, and they didn't have it anymore (not sure if they no longer do or if they might have just run out that day. Crossing my fingers it was the latter). I almost come here at least once every week for lunch when I have to be in the office, the food is good, people work there are nice, but today my order got wrong, and it's not the first time:/ I got someone else's take out order, and when one of the worker came to make the take out order I asked him if that was actually mine, he confirmed its the takeout not mine, but when I got back to the office, it's obviously not mine:/ I understand people work there try to be efficient when there's a line, and jump in to help to speed up the process, but please ensure that customers get their own order. This job gets the place done. It's not a bad poke spot, but it's not my favorite either. I like how they don't charge extra for avocado. I got salmon as one of my proteins. There is an extra charge for salmon, and same with a few other proteins. They don't skimp on your proteins though. But over the years, their QC has dropped significantly. The rice was probably my favorite part of the bowl I ordered today at noon, and even then, there was some burnt rice. Not worth the ~$19 I paid. There are better poke places in Irvine. Also, I asked for a regular bowl and the woman behind the counter said "you mean medium?" Service and ambiance are nothing out of the ordinary. There's an assembly line like Chipotle where you pick your fish, vegetables, sauce, etc. There is plenty of seating outside if inside gets full. I am a HUGE fan of the poke wrap, which they don't have any longer. Staffing issues= no wrap. Sad face. I came here to pick up a quick lunch by the office. Parking here is a little challenging during lunch. Inside is pretty loud and line is pretty long during peak hours. I got the M size which comes with 3 scoops of protein. My order came to around $18 which I think is pretty standard now for poke spots. The best selling point here is that they offer avocado at no extra charge! Service is really quick - the server was ready before I was lol. I think they're pretty heavy handed with the sauces and mine was a little too sweet. I'll probably mix sweet and spicy next time around to see if that helps. My bf and I came here after gym nearby tonight around 715pm. They weren't closed for another hour but both of the workers there looked dead and ready to go home. I'm not sure about the good reviews of great super nice staff, I didn't not experience that. Both of them gave me zombie stare and didn't really answer my questions when I asked. It was our first time there and I wouldn't know how they do their poke here!? I asked for furikake at the end and the lady either didn't hear me or just ignored me. I didn't bother to say it the third time out loud that I wanted sesame and furikake! Food quality was okay, tuna didn't taste too fresh some pieces tasted fishy but we did come to a poke place 1 hour near closing time... plus the full service, I'm sorry I didn't experience the 4 star experience and have to give it a 3 stars. This used to be my favorite poke place but man has it gone down hill. Walked in today to order dinner after the gym and they were BLASTING music to the point I couldn't hear the staff. Next we get to the food and they are out of avocado. I don't know about you but I feel like avo is pretty important in a poke bowl. I ask if they can sub anything or do anything for me since they don't have a staple ingredient and they rudely say no. The fish portion also have gotten smaller and the price has gone up.
