I came to Rainbow Poke with my son because he wanted to try it, and we both love a good poke spot. It's located in the Lowe's shopping center off Mills and has a clean, simple setup. Overall, it's a solid place, but nothing that really stood out to me. The staff was friendly, which I always appreciate, and the place itself had a calm, quiet vibe. The food was good and had nice flavor, but it didn't feel particularly memorable compared to other poke places I've been to. One thing that did stand out (not in a great way) was the pricing. For a large bowl, you only get three scoops of protein for around $18, which felt a bit high for what you get. The portion sizes overall seemed pretty average. They were also out of quite a few items when we went, and the menu in general felt a little limited. Same with the drink options, very minimal, so don't expect much variety there. All in all, it's not a bad spot. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but I also wouldn't object if someone else wanted to go. Great place if you are in a pinch for poke but would not highly recommend this place over others.

Decided to try this place after passing by it often. Let's see: Sushi rice had no flavor and was mushy. Needs Vinegar and Sugar, and maybe less water when cooking. All the fish looked like it was on the verge of turning spoiled. I don't think it was so much old but I think it had been sitting out too long. The containers need to be sitting in an ice bath or at least in a refrigerated display. Tuna was the only thing that looked like it had just come out of the refrigerator in the back. Crab salad tasted like it was all Mayo. Not sure what was up with that. Seaweed Salad was very sour. Sauces were whatever. And I didn't really go for any other toppings because the containers they were in looked grimy. Even my canned soda fell flat not long after opening which means it was old. I'll provide an update if I end up getting sick because my stomach is already in knots. Read the reviews. Do not eat here. read more

Came back here two years later and its worse than what it was in 2022. For a bowl that is about $20, with half of the items being out of stock. Yet they still charge full price. Staff are slow, and when you ask them questions, they are slow to respond. They also have a yelp offer that they dont honor. The staff said that the owner does not honors it, and when you contact the owner via message, he says he does so who knows who is not saying the truth. Haven't been to this spot since it first opened so I'm glad I got to stop in. Went right before closing hoping to get a healthy meal. Most of the proteins were sold out so I was bummed but I was still able to get hooked up with a fat bowl! Ordered a medium with 3 proteins (albacore, Cajun crab, spicy tuna) and everything was fresh and delicious! So many toppings for a great deal. The food like the imitation crabmeat doesn't taste fresh and isn't flavorful. The salmon was good. The spicy tuna was okay. The service was good in that the server/employee listened and gave me what I asked for. He was also courteous. No Poke shop in Ventura even comes close. I live within walking distance from Poke Rainbow and I'm glad that I do. When you first walk in you'll notice how neat and tidy the business is. Next you'll see the menu on the left wall. You can choose from a small, medium, or large. The small is two scoops of protein, the medium is three scoops, and so on. The toppings are unlimited which is absolutely amazing (because we all know the others will charge the arm and leg for toppings). The business is family owned and operated which makes me love it even more. The owner and his son are both very friendly and have great customer service. I'm very big on customer service since I also work in customer service. They will make suggestions that fit your pallet. I will be going back on a regular basis. The main difference at this poke place compared to other choices in the area is that they are fairly generous with their fish. Gave this place the benefit of the doubt and another try after both my husband and I got sick the last time we ate from this establishment. So this used to be our go to poke spot but man has it started to go downhill. First, the prices are a bit steep. We paid $35 for a small and medium bowl which is the same we could've paid for 2 to sit at a restaurant and eat. Then, the tuna looked like it had been sitting out for awhile. I'm pretty convinced this is the best Poke place in VC. I've tried so many in the last few months and every time I eat at the *other guys* place, I find myself saying "I should have just went to PR". They have a good selection, friendly staff, very accommodating. Aside from it being fab already, it would be awesome if the owner had vegan shrimp and vegan fish options on the menu. I tried vegan poke in LA and it was really good and would be cool to have this option for those who can't enjoy poke locally. The staff seemed really out of it when we ordered. They weren't really paying attention when we walked in, and there were no other customers at the time. We ordered 2 medium bowls and our total was around $45. I didn't see any prices listed by the menu so I was quite surprised by that total. When they rang us up on the iPad, the woman did not remove her gloves. She flipped the iPad around t for me to select the tip amount and I was really put off -- the screen was caked with food and sticky streaks. So much so that fingers became sticky when I pressed the prompts. I am floored that these employees did not remove their soiled gloves when going between the iPad and serving food. I wonder how many dirty customer fingers go between the iPad and the employees gloves which are directly handling our food. We were both so bothered by how unsanitary their practices are that we barely touched our food. We ended up throwing out the food and going somewhere else. So that's $45 down the drain. But the last time I came was subpar with the food and service, the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gotten way higher. $15 for the smallest size and the small is sooo tiny. On my most recent trip I had it delivered and was wildly disappointed . For a large Poke bowl there was maybe a cup of combined fish, or the other hand the rice was probably closer to 3.5 cups. It was so heavy full of rice. Hardly any other ingredients. The rice was wildly overcooked. mushy. So I am a little wary of ordering from here again. Bummer. read more

The point of putting on gloves is so that you don't touch other things, like pulling up the sleeves on your coat while you're making someone's food over and over again... Then going in the back grabbing other toppings for The meal. I just don't know how this is not something that you train your employees on, because God willing his garments are clean, but you can't put on gloves and then start touching your body and then put your hands back inside raw fish. Which is exactly what happened, and I don't know how many times that has happened before I got my food... But come on these are basic food and hygiene, rules and regulations... This place gives you the rainbow with the pot of gold at the end :D I love how fresh the food is and it's sooo pleasant and aesthetically satisfying to look at. Again, I eat with my eyes! Everything is fresh and clean. From the food to the location itself. The customer service is great and there kind. If you have no knowledge in regards to what is what they even explain it to you. I love everything in my poke and that's exactly what I got! Some places are a hit or miss. Not this one! You get the most amazing tasty seaweed salad, fresh fish, veggies, and the seasonings are great! Make sure you know that you'll have left overs. My last few times here were not so great, but being hungry, being in the neighborhood, and craving some sashimi I thought I'd give it another try hoping things had changed. Well they kind of have, but for the worst. I think they got a smaller scooper so just when you thought the portions of fish couldn't get any smaller - they have. If you did a blind taste test and placed the salmon, ahi, and albacore in front of you, you would not be able to taste the difference between the three. None of them taste like the fish they're pretending to be, in fact none of them have any flavor at all. I thought the main ingredient in poke is the fish. Poke Rainbow's fish is of very poor quality.
