Holy Moly! This was my first time trying a poke bowl and I LOVED it! The staff was so friendly and patient with me asking how everything worked. The fish was so fresh and the flavors were amazing. I got half brown rice with salad, spicy crab, spicy salmon, and spicy shrimp. I also topped it cucumber, edamame, scallions, spicy mayo and the house dressing. So I go here a lot and I absolutely love this place and the service is usually as amazing as the food that is served. However, there is this one girl who is actually quite rude. I overheard her being very rude and racist to a Hispanic family. Stating that they need to learn to speak English because it is to hard to understand them and this is America. I could not believe what I had heard. I am not sure what her name was but she was white and I think it is ridiculous the way she treated them when every other employee I have come into contact with has be polite and understanding. This is my favorite poke store! There's one item here I have never found at other Poke stores. They have Shrimp Tempura as one of their protein offerings at no extra cost. I have some friends that can't handle raw fish but they're okay with shrimp, tofu, and shrimp tempura. So if you want to try Poke but you're afraid of the raw fish, i recommend those above. The office ladies and I at the company I work for love coming here for lunch because of how fresh the food always is. The past two times I've come to get our food the pricing has been the same, $13.25 for small bowls. But for some reason today I was charged $16.75 per small bowl I got. We ordered 5... It's an overpriced poke bowl with lots of unmixed toppings, in a mall. The fish quality was a bit unappetizing, bland colors and flavors, cut small, not fresh. The sauces I tried were pretty salty, the rice was average. The ol' cover-everything-with-eel-sauce-and-spicy-mayo bit only goes so far. Come on, Frank! The service was friendly but a bit slow, still learning the ropes I think. Their beverage options were lacking, even offering cans of soda (no refills) for an unfair price. No... thank you. While I admire Pokeway for spearheading the new food court at Montclair Place, there are plenty of other poké joints with better taste and value within 5mi. of the mall.
