With all the great reviews, idk why I was surprised how good this place was. They got all your standard toppings and fish and for the price, they're very generous with their portions. I think the reason why I was so impressed and what I loved about it was the spicy tuna. Spicy tuna was actually spicy and they adjust the bowl just right that it tastes good but not overly done. Poke was 10/10. We also got the yakisoba and that was a little disappointing.. for some reason there was a lot of liquid at the bottom of the box. I assume cabbage being overcooked. Okay, I'd seen all the great reviews and my "regular" place kept upping their prices and the last time, I actually took it back because it wasn't very fresh and it was that bad. So, tonight we popped in here. You all were right, it IS quite literally a hole in between two walls. There were two employees at the counter and we were promptly and pleasantly greeted. I told the man (found out his name was Tom and he is the manager) and female at the counter, the reason we were here was the great reviews on Yelp. Also, they were running a promotion which was advertised outside in signage, "California Roll $1.99". We also got a shrimp crunch roll which was $8. The poki bowls were the reason we were there. We got two medium bowls. It's very easy to decide what and when.....there are instructions for what order the ingredients should go into the bowl, (starting with "Station 1" & so on, to "Station 5") above us on the colorful menu board (see pictures). There was a very wide variety of proteins to select from, more than I've seen at most places. Avocado is a dollar extra, as is most places. I found the serving of avocado very generous and it was appreciated. A half and avocado! The other place didn't give that much. However the crab is included! You get two scoops, one regular and one spicy. If you don't want the spicy, you can get two of the regular. They do mix your proteins with your selection of sauces separately before placing in your bowl. Then you finish it up with the toppings. I think the only thing I missed from the other place I've been going, were the fried onions and for me, that was a big deal. They really add to my enjoyment of the bowl. Yes, the prices are substantially less than the other place. However, they were decidedly much more careful here with the proteins, to give you just what fit in the scooper only.....it was, in my opinion, very measured. No extra little bit. I did like having the proteins mixed together with the sauces. Both my husband and I commented that we liked extra sesame oil, but what we got wasn't quite enough. And I did request spicy Mayo on the side which she must have forgotten. And I forgot to check the bag before we left. I think there were two areas lacking that stood out to me. The mild sauce we selected (what can I say? We are both wimps when it comes to spicy!) was 1) not sufficient, we needed more sauce, too dry. And 2) both of us felt the bowl needed something more....the big flavor punch we were expecting, I'm sad to say was missing. The sauce flavor was blah. It was a bit flavorless. My proteins were tuna, yellowtail and scallops. My husband had salmon, tuna and albacore. It wasn't that it wasn't fresh.....it was just that it didn't wow us with flavor. I so wanted to give this place 5 stars. However, I'll be back again. Maybe something was just off tonight. With all the great reviews, this place is worth another visit. Unable to rate the rolls as we've not had them yet. I'll post a picture of them, minus the one roll my husband popped in his mouth on the way home! This place is chill and has pro service. The selection of fish is amazing and they are always tasty. Most places don't have octopus and yellowtail but they have them. You can get boba of all different flavors and hang out listening to relaxing music and they have some big tables for groups. The sauces are a great selection also, though my wife and I usually get NoSpicy sauce and Ponzu because we are of the less spicy variety of folks. We always get the noodle poke bowl base and they cook the noodles fresh to order. It is in a quiet corner of a small shopping center. Really tucked away between the two white pillars of the building. We go there often, many Saturdays for lunch and sometimes we order ahead and get it as takeout. You should check it out! read more

This is my go to when I'm craving sushi rolls. My family loves the poki bowls and I love the rolls so we always get the combo. Been coming here for years. Daniel the owner is super nice and Tommy at the front always makes us feel welcomed and taken cared of. Service is quick and efficient as well as friendly. We were nervous for them during COVID so we made it a point to visit as often as we could. Glad to see they're still up and running. Local, family owned and ran. Food is great, service is great. My wife and I have been going here since Covid started back in 2020. Originally, it was really good. Unfortunately it seems like their quality has taken a significant turn for the worse. I picked up two poke bowls for lunch yesterday, one medium and one large. They were super skimpy on the rice and the scoops of fish. The scooper that they use is already tiny and they were only giving me like 50%-75% full scoops. Also the quality of the fish was pretty awful. The bowls themselves weren't even full but the time they finished putting everything in there, like not even close to being full. Really bummed because this used to be one of our go to local joints. First time visit. This place is tucked away in a small plaza that includes a liquor store, laundromat, and ramen shop. The plaza itself isnt the prettiest, but dont let that deter you. The restaurant is a nice size. Not huge, but large enough for a comfortable meal with a small group. They even have a small room with a door that you can use as a study room (with 2hour limitation). Free wifi is accessible. The overall atmosphere is nice. Very casual but almost has a traditional sushi restaurant vibe to it. The food is great. I ordered a combo which includes a roll + small poki bowl. Free miso soup is offered as well. They have a great variety of rolls. The poki options are endless. So many different toppings. They even offer different beverage options along the lines of milk teas and slushes with or without boba. Service here is very welcoming. The staff and the gentleman whom I believe to be the owner are so friendly. They are kind and patient, and offer great recommendations. For me, this place has made a great first impression. In these days, it is unusual to receive a no-smile service at a restaurant. It was my first time in this restaurant. I was hoping - it's because either they were no fuss bosses of this place or the food could make up the deficiency. Like the service, the preparation of my Poki bowl was also unusual. Instead of laying the side picks (crab meat, seaweed, corn, etc.) neatly on top of the base (in my case, rice noodle), the lady boss dropped everything in a metal bowl and mixed them in the sauce. It resulted a not so pleasing looking poki bowl. It tasted alright. Logistically, I know the food would eventually ends up being mixed inside my stomach. And it offers so many free toppings, including scoops of both spicy crab mix and regular crab mix and 4 colors of fish eggs (orange, red, green, and black). I came here because I was starving and craving poke. To be honest, I was having a bad day and wasn't really expecting much. To my surprise, the service at this place blew me away and really turned me around. Service: 5/5 - Service was phenomenal. We were greeted when we got in by all the workers which was not typical at poke places. We probably looked a bit confused looking at the menu, but one of the workers rescued us by saying they'll be happy to give recommendations if we wanted. During the transaction at the end, one of the guys made small talk and we chatted about workouts for a quick sec, but his effort to make me feel welcome really made an impact on me. I probably looked like I was having a bad day so I really appreciated it. Value: 5/5 - pretty sure they have the best prices of any of the poke places I've been too. A large was about $10.50 before tax, the sizes were pretty generous, and I think we got avocado even though it was supposed to be extra cost. We even got 2 miso soups on the house. Seriously Ive tried so many poke spots from LA to OC and out of state and this place is my favorite. I was there early one time and the owner was cutting up tuna for the poke. The fish here are definitely of quality and don't have any funky taste. Good selection of seafood too and the toppings are top notch. They actually offer tobiko AND masago, which not too many spots do. They also have regular imitation crab and spicy imitation crab and they don't charge extra for you to get both. I havent even mentioned the best part. The price is unmatched $10.50 for the large which is 5 scoops (small scoops but still). Yes, I understand their large is a lot of places medium, but you arent getting medium for $10.50 at too many places. You also arent getting the variety you get here. I cant imagine how much smaller the small and medium size poke bowls are. The food was alright; I've definitely had fresher and better poke. When I first parked I thought the restaurant was tiny because it was located in the back corner and had a small entrance but after coming inside it was bigger than imagined. This time of year, it's no-meat Fridays so when a friend, and fellow Yelper suggested this place, I didn't blink - I just agreed to met up there for dinner. This place is easy to miss, so just know it's tucked away, in the back corner. One things that really stood out for me is the excellent and friendly customer service. As soon as I walked in, I mentioned that it was my first time there and from that point on, I felt like I was a guest in their house - as the various staff provided service on the likes, like I wish was the norm, as opposed to the exception. Second thing - I guess the space was previously a karaoke bar. A few of the rooms are still equipped with a TV, just now have a table to give parties a private, quiet place to eat. I was ushered into one of the rooms which worked out nicely for our party. On to the food. Signage to help you with options, but the staff is ready and willing to help you along the process when ordering. The freshness and the quantity of the ingredients were decent and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauces they offer. I had a good experience here. If I'm i the area, I'd definitely return. read more
