I have been to this place three times and the last two visits were so bad. Second time, they forgot to put 6 rolls into my 12 pieces meal combo. Just opened so I thought I'd try it. Drive through clerk rushed me to take order after about 15 seconds of looking at the menu with no cars behind me. He couldn't hear or something since I had to repeat myself several times as well. Got my food quick and it was not impressive and way over priced. Got a tiny chicken leg, nasty fries, and a Hawaiian roll in a plastic bag. For $11. When the guy handed me my food didn't say anything, I waited for my change, when he came back just handed it to me, didn't say a word. Wasn't given any napkins for the greasy chicken that's being served. Very poor experience and disappointing food to say the least. read more

After waiting longer than I should have, I have the bag of food literally shoved in my face . I get the bag into my car and I smell nothing good. You know how good food smells good right? Yeah nothing. Not from the fries or sandwich. I immediately go for the fries....they sucked. There was hardly any....okay hold on lemme try 1 more before I throw THEM away......yeah, no taste. I think Im tasting the oil. No salt, no seasoning. These fries absolutely suck. So then the sandwich....it was hot, 2 smaller sized bites were juicy but none after that. Telling you right now, if your taste buds work, if you have any kind of taste for good tasting food at all, then turn away because none of this will be worth your money. Been here 3 times already. I like it. But here goes the details. 1st visit, opening day.. they screwed up the order. 2nd visit, they didnt give us a breast, which we asked for. 3rd visit, no issue. One big issue, is the drive thru. They need to fix their headset, or just listen better. Always have to repeat myself. The second visit, manager made up for it, and gave us two chicken breasts. Overall, prices our a little steep, staff is friendly, and definitely needs some work, as a new location.... Mashed potatoes suck, by the way. Everything else is good. Thats why i go back. As a resident of Covina I'm always rooting for new business to setup shop and build a successful following. Pollo Campero has come in and built a beautiful location on a corner that needed some aesthetically pleasing help. Although I get no joy in seeing empty buildings, I can't help but feel that Pollo Campero is not ready to fill that location properly. High prices and horrible service is a bad combination. The chicken comes out to $3-$5 a piece and the sides add another $20-$30 to the total. I believe that you get what you pay for and this place charges restaurant pricing with fast food quality offerings. That would be okay in most cases if the food was outstanding but the service was horrible. It will take significant changes before try this place again. Paying $75 for a meal only to wait 45 minutes was tough enough. Getting home to find out I was missing sides and the order was wrong left a really bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended. read more

It's "meh" So this is my second time trying this place since it opened and much like 1st time it was very underwhelming. I got the 3 piece chicken meal and although I can say it's well fried at least that's about it. No flavor really to speak of. (Maybe the oil?) that's about it. Same for the side of mash potatoes and fries I got with it. Just bland. The fries came unsalted don't know if that's by design or mistake and they were pretty soggy from the moment I got them. The inside looks nice but it is brand new so I expect that. Their seating arrangement is good as well lots of tables and enough room to walk around. 3 stars on the food very mediocre and I had to knock one off for the service because for the 2nd time in a row I got no utensils/napkins in my bag and the 1st time I went they charge me for a drink I never ordered and didn't realize until I had already left. Today I stopped by and ordered a single empanada , two piece upgraded to a breast piece for a dollar extra, and a side of French fries. Total was approx. $17 bucks . The packaging is nice and clever. All good pieces were placed inside individual cartons. The empanada was a bit overcooked. The edges were stale and hard to chew. Once I took a bite of the mid part of the empanada the taste of corn, chicken was decent .The price for the small single empanada was about 2 bucks and some change. I would pay 1.25 for this only. Empanada was super small. The chicken was decent. It reminded me of stater brothers or Albertsons fried chicken from the deli section. Small pieces of chicken is not what I was expecting for the price. The fries were stale and dry. The portion for the fries are pretty large. So you'll get full on this two piece due to the fries. You have the option of tortillas and bread. I went with bread . Meh. Get the bread if you order the mash potatoes. You can dip the bread in the mashies . Overall the food was okay no bang for your buck. If I'm paying this much I'll just go to KFC get a chicken bowl and a drink for a lower price. My suggestion is to give it a try at least once or twice. Prepare to spend at leader 15 per person. Hope they can lower the price or serve larger chicken . read more

Ordered one meal with a roll and the other with tortillas. My daughter went to fill her drink cup with Pepsi and it was clear. Worker told us they were out of Pepsi.......completely!
