Pollo Inka is weird in the way that there food is really not flavorful on its own. But once you pour that green salsa on your dish that meal is delicious. Seriously that stuff is good on everything. My favorite thing from here is the Chaufa con Carne (beef fried rice) and then I pour a hefty amount of green salsa mix it and go to town. But beware, if you can't handle spice to well try not to go to hard with the green sauce it has a pretty good kick to it. read more

The food might taste good or okay but it's so not worth it when the service is leaving a bad taste before even getting to the food. Every order seems rushed now, half chicken was undercooked, a whole side order was missing but was charged for, paid extra for toppings but got one piece?! When asked for correct order server turned into a demon! I found the food had way too much garlic and I couldn't even eat my fish the rice had so much cilantro and peppers in it I don't even think there was any rice & the only thing that I enjoyed was the soup when we called over the manager or the owner I just was not impressed by the way he handled the situation. This was my first time at this place in Las Vegas, it was on March 6, 2021. The meal prices are affordable. I ordered the chicken (pollo a la brasa), it wasn't bad but it was just like any rotisserie chicken nothing compare to the real pollo a la brasa, I though well I got the green sauce that would help but nooo, the green sauce that they had it tasted plain as the chicken and I even ordered an extra one, it went to waste. The fries were under cooked. The cilantro soup wasn't good either, it was watery. I also ordered lomo saltado de carne. It was okay but not enough to make me come back again. I kept hearing that Pollo Inka opened up a fast food version and as I was driving down Hawthorne Blvd...I saw it! So I went in to order lunch for me and my co-workers. I got two whole chickens, two big cups of soup, four sides with bread and it came to $30.00. That was a good deal. The chicken was moist and tender and the cilantro rice was FANTASTIC!!! The soup was just like Pollo Inka's...GREAT! They also have a drive thru...finally something you can get quickly besides burgers! First stop in LA, I knew it needed to be here. I've had Peruvian food a handful of times from different places in both LA and from home (Hawaii), but I still have yet to find a place that does it as delicious and on the cheap as Pollo Inka. Lomo Saltado, every single time. This is a stir fry dish with beef, french fries, onions and tomatoes, slathered up with cilantro. At seven bucks and some change, this is an absolute steal. It comes with a dinner roll, green sauce/salsa, and an order of cilantro soup. SO MUCH FOOD. For a cilantro overload, spend an extra dollar and get it with cilantro rice... you won't regret it. The green sauce is SPICY! But goes well with everything else. I wasn't very fond of the cilantro soup at first, but it grew on me. Everything in the lomo saltado is such a strong flavor, that the cilantro soup brings a nice balance to the meal. It's more reminiscent of porridge to me, with heaps of veggies and chicken. Perfect well rounded meal. I like this express location, because sometimes you just wanna quickly get some bomb food without the ordeal of sitting down and dealing with waiters, but instead vegging out in your pajamas in front of the TV. This express location lets you do just that. Don't let the express fool you though, the drive through isn't all that fast. Sometimes even if there are only one or two cars in line, the wait can be a while. You might be better off popping in and placing your order instead. Green sauce. Put it on everything! So, a couple questions later to the guy who served me at the window and I find out that the owners of El Pollo Inka do indeed own Inka Express. But... I would have to say that this tasty lil fast food heaven must have stolen their key ingredients or chefs from the El pollo Inka in Torrance because their Huancaina sauce tastes 90% better than the El pollo inka restaurants in Lawndale and Hermosa, (which ill never go to again). Tried out the Lomo Saltado and had a side of "Huanca" sauce with of course their native Inka Cola all for under $10.00, now that is a dam deal! And.... the meal comes with soup and bread. I was waiting for my friend while she gets out of work so I decided to eat dinner here and I found this place through yelp. What I ordered: lomo saltado, cilantro soup, Inca cola. Lomo saltado is beef with fries and onions with a bed of rice and it comes with bread and cilantro soup. The lomo saltado is delicious! Good flavor and the beef is tender and not over cooked. The green sauce is spicy but flavorful and pairs well with the whole plate. I practically dumped it on my rice its so good. The Inca soda is delicious too it reminds me of Korean cider. The service is really what opted me to write the review. I let the cashier know that it was my first time here and he was very friendly. I think he's the manager if I'm not mistaken. After I got the food and started eating he came over and asked me how the food was and I told him it was delicious! He saw that I was running low on the green sauce that I had just dumped onto my food and he brought me over a whole new bottle. Overall this place really deserves a 5 star. You can't go wrong here if you want great El Pollo Inka marinated rottisserie chicken. This is their specialty and they offer sevaral side dishes not available at any of the other El Pollo Inka restaurants. But the best thing is that all the meals are very affordable, downright cheap in most cases. The rotessrie chicken is also smoked with natural wood unlike all locations, and is delicious. They've even added new rottisserie chicken sandwiches with wild and tasty Peruvian sauces which are the bomb and not available at any other of the "El Pollo Inka" locations thus far. There are 2 keys here. First the price, you can't beat it for El Pollo Inka quality. And it is the first "El Pollo Inka" with a drive through making life that much easier. Now be ready because within the next few weeks Inka Express will also be offering a limited amount of Saltado dishes as well. Saltado de Pollo and Lomo Saltado should be a mainstay on their menu in the very near future. ( it's happened, read my add-on at the bottom) The only drawback is the limited indoor seating, but the prices can't be beat for the food offered along with options not available at the other locations. Remember this location is geared towards a fast food concept without sacrificing any of the taste quality yet very inexpensive, downright cheap in most cases. Student discounts apply (Leuzinger) and the "salchi-papas" (a decent portion of french fries fries and Farmer John hot dogs cooked the Peruvian way with various sauces) are dirt cheap and very satistfying at $1.50 or less Update: Limited Saltado dishes are now available at this location. Lomo Saltado and Saltado de Pollo are at least 2 now available here (with more to come) prompting me to give it an extra star for price and innovation. If you don't have the time to cook dinner for the family or just want a quick lunch this place is ideal for easy dine in or drive through take-out to take home or back to work. Although perhaps not being as fancy as the other locations having taken over a previous KFC building, it works because it offers the same food at an exceptional value. And BTW some fresh rolls and of course a large container of their famous chicken/cilantro rice soup are a must with any meal. Enjoy. Never knew about this place up until recently. I haven't even tried Peruvian food in my life so this was something different and new to me. I'm so amazed by how good the food is here. First time ordering here, I've tried the Saltado de Pollo which is like chicken stir fry and the Chaufa de Pollo which is like Chicken Chow Mein...SO BOMB! For a minute, I thought I was enjoying Thai food because the flavors are so similar. To me, all dishes have a Brazilian base with Thai flavors. Definitely taste the garlic and soy sauce, yet you have a little bit of brazilian flair...I love it! Another thing great about Pollo Inka Express is that they give A LOT of food. One combo meal can last me 2 feeding periods. Each combo comes with white rice, cilantro soup (my favorite), green salsa (also my favorite), and a dinner roll. Their plantains aren't bad either. Prices are very affordable. One combo runs about $6-$7. Since this spot is an express restaurant, don't expect fancy. Ordering through the Drive-Thru will take 10-20 minutes... depending on how long the line gets. It's a very popular spot and it does get packed with people often. The staff is friendly and helpful. And since I had a good experience at El Pollo Imperial I wanted to compare. I am disappointed. 1/4 chicken (dark meat), cilantro rice, and beans for $5.99 + tax. Chicken skin was well seasoned but the remainder lacked flavor, cilantro rice was dry, and the beans were good. Salchipapa for $3.75, not good at all. Maybe the kids will like it but Salchipapa with ketchup and mustard just doesn't taste good to me. Terrible aftertaste make sure you have some type of mint or gum (something really sour) nearby. read more

But whether u go inside or drive thru be ready to wait a while. Longs can get very long... I always enjoy their Lomo Saltado but the meat can sometimes be a bit chewy. Meat tenderness is always a hit or miss along w/ the flavor. Sometimes food and meat is very under seasoned. I passed by this place too many times since is not too far from my house. There always seems to be a significant drive-through line also, so I figured that means the food must be great. There is a large sit down version of the restaurant that's the original El Pollo Inka and this location is the express version made to be like a quick in and out drive-through version. There is space to sit down on the inside but it's almost like getting KFC and dining in. I was the fourth car in line and the line doesn't move as quickly as a typical fast food restaurant would since everything is made to order. Before I got closer to the actual ordering window and employee came out with a handheld device and took my order. I thought this is great, it's similar to the long lines at in and out where in employee will be outside taking orders to ensure that your order is ready when you arrive at the window to pay. The only bad part about this is they don't have a typical menu of items one would easily remember so I accidentally ordered the wrong item because it looked like what I wanted from the picture. I would highly recommend that employee with the mobile device taking orders will also have a menu to head to the driver to assist with orders. By the time I got to the window and paid my order was ready very quickly. When I got home I found it the order came with a cilantro type of soup and a very tasty special green sauce to add to the food. From the first bite my taste buds were in heaven. This food was amazing. The only thing I could think was how much I was going to enjoy eating at this place now that I know it is a hidden gem. And everything cost nine dollars or less this is an amazing value and I now realize why the drive-through line is always so long. It should be!! read more

Not sure if it's worth even going through the drive through. The Food --- I had the Pollo Saltado. It was okay. The meat was kind of fatty and chewy. The one redeeming thing was the green sauce. It was a little spicier than I've normally had it which I really liked. Other than that, I wasn't impressed. Oh, it also came with a cilantro, rice type of soup, which was okay.
