We were in line to order at pollo inka at 9:50pm & once we get to the intercom they tell us that we can't order because they closed. They were taking the orders from the car in front of us. We waited in line for 10 minutes as well & when we tell him if he can please help us he says we were lying about waiting in line. What blew my mind was the loma saltado ( rice, fries, red onions, tomato, beef, stir fried) was only $6.75. I usually pay over $10-$15 for this plate! Was it good? It was not as good as the restaurant version, a rougher,bland side of it, but it was tasty and lots of it! And add the Aji green sauce!!, it makes a difference. It's located in a small drive thru restaurant. I think it was a KFC before they took over.. My suggestion is that if you want to enjoy your meal, do the drive thru and take your food home to eat. The inside of the restaurant is dirty. The seats are old, dirty and greasy. If things like that bother you, take it to go! It did kind of ruined my appetite. :-( I'm sure the kitchen is clean enough, because they got an "A" Back to the food... We tried the Tallarin Verde - Peruvian Pasta with Spinach Pesto- The seasoning and sauce was good, but the pasta was too soggy!!.. Totally ruined it. Whole chicken combo that comes with 4 bread and 4 chicken rice cilantro soup, and two side orders. The Cilantro soup was very good and hearty! The side orders of Plantains (fried bananas) was very sweet and delicious. Their Aji Green sauce is not as spicy as most, which I love because I love the sauce but cannot take the spice. The sauce does make a huge difference for the food, in my opinion. This place is a great alternative if you don't want to pay restaurant prices for Peruvian food but want the authenticity of it. Do..re..me..lo-mo sal-ta-do! :D From the first time I ever tried El pollo inka I was in love, then to have an express version really sealed the deal! Same delicious flavors and quality available via drive thru window? yup! Winning! My go to dish, is always the lomo saltado! From the rice, the onions, the fries, and of course the meat, everything is perfectly seasoned with great textures. Then topping it all off with their crack green sauce, OHHH mYyy, Heaven! ::drooling:: always ask for extra green sauce, always! The place is tiny! And the the drive thru and parking can get a bit cramped, but be patient, the food is worth it! Overall, I am really a fan of el pollo inka and their lomo saltado. Kinda neat to have Peruvian food made express and To Go, but the drive through line is outrageous. I guess it makes sense because it takes a long time to make the food, but it also does not make sense to wait in a running car for that long. Maybe there needs to be a better way to order. Plus the portions are not as generous. I always go for thr Lomo Saltado which is the beef on a bed of fries, tomatoes and onions with a side of rice. However out of all the locations, the best El Polla Inca is on Hawthorne in Torrance. Not Lawndale. It is clean, spacious and good parking availabilities and the portion is larger! read more

We have ordered either delivery and have also picked up orders on several occasions and I must state the quality and satisfaction remains consistent. Not only have all deliveries surpassed our level of promptness but the food has arrived still warm. Granted our orders consist of similar menu items but who can blame us when we are truly hooked to the Lomo Saltado and their plantain bananas. We also tried their chicken saltado but the Lomo is far tastier. I am also a fan of the little soup that comes with the order and their green salsa complements the white rice in such a delightful way it makes my mouth water every single time i smell it when opening that little precious container. Omg, it has been so long since I've been here as I no longer live in the area & wow how I missed it! Still as good as it was a few years ago! This time I got the Chaufa de Pescado as now I'm more of a pescatarian. And woooow, it was so good! Even better than the chicken one I had in the past! So much flavor, doesn't even need the aji sauce unless you want a bit of a spicy kick! Very satisfied and happy they have fish & veggie options for pescatarians and vegetarians. The best Peruvian food in town. This is the express but it still provides the same taste as the full on restaurant. It has a drive through but be prepared to wait a while if it's past the parking lot. Well worth the wait though. I highly recommend the Pollo Saltado with extra chicken. I ordered the chaufa de pollo, the chicken looked old, the rice was all clamped together in junks, the egg looked old & gross and to top it off as I'm forcing myself to eat it because I'm starving I find a piece of blue rubber band in one of the rice junks. I've always been eating in this place where they cook with canned food my dish is the pescado frito with 2sides order that usually was the beans and the rice. Recently they changed the bean side order and made this side order absurdly expensive and charged a part also they changed the quality of the fish for tilapia the bottom trash fish. The quality of the food here is going from bad to worse and this place looks like trashy Doesn't look like a Peruvian food place at all. The menu looks very poor and they are using a very cheap and canned food ingredients to prepare food and be able to hold their prices. Horrible place! I won't came back here ever again. read more

I love the saltado de pollo from this pollo inka express! I have been to many pollo inkas in the area and I will happily drive 25 minutes one way to grab food from this one because the price is right, and the food is really good. From the soup, to seasoning, to the perfectly crispy French fries, it is delicious. I go relatively frequently(about twice a month) for a couple years, and the line is long about 90 percent of the time I would predict. So plan your trip accordingly. The reason for the 4 stars is that there is the occasional mishap with my orders, but overall they do a good job. I also believe that there is probably a better way for them to take orders or maybe expand somehow to deal with the amount of traffic and business. In conclusion though, they have a great food for take-out and I would happily recommend it. read more
