What We Ordered: -1/2 Chicken with 2 Sides $18.15 I've heard great things about Pollo Mania in El Monte, and I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. I've been on a rotisserie chicken kick lately and am trying to explore as many local spots as possible. The 1/2 chicken comes with two sides and tortillas, and you can choose between corn or flour. I opted for flour, and they tasted very fresh, likely made in-house. The chicken was some of the best I've had in a long time - perfectly cooked, with flavorful skin and moist meat. The beans were good, and I appreciated their sweetness. The portion size was also generous. The rice was excellent, tasting like chicken rice, and both my wife and I really enjoyed it. I loved that you can make your own chicken tacos! A little rice and beans on a flour tortilla with the chicken makes a great taco. They offer four different sauces, but our favorite was the fresh salsa (Pico de Gallo). Even my wife, who isn't usually a sauce fan, liked it. My only suggestion would be a spicy Aji verde to complement the chicken. The spicy red sauce (Salsa Roja) was too hot for us, and the Aji and Chimichurri were okay, nothing special. The service was warm and friendly! I was impressed with the freshness and quality of the food, as well as the value. My only complaint is that they didn't have an aji verde sauce. I've been to two pollo a la brasa spots, and while this one has the best chicken, the other place had better sauces overall. We will definitely be back in the future. I'm looking forward to returning for their chicken and trying their chicken soup!

Delicious Peruvian food. Hidden gem, I've been here several times and so far everything has been Delicious.. The service is great and the food is fresh and cooked to order. It's a small restaurant, but is kept clean. Definitely recommend trying it.

If you ever want to know locally, whether or not a restaurant is good, follow the working class crowd and order what they order. This is the type of place where the lady working at the laundromat, the guy working on filling the road ditches, the pickup trucks full of landscapers, and the little bobitos / bobitas would go to for a meal. After a brutal day finishing up multiple stops in downtown Los Angeles where my 53' Trailer don't belong, I decided to take this weekend off instead of continuing my winter run in some Midwest Northern state. Somehow waking up this morning to the pouring rain got me wanting steak. Didn't want to drive down to Arcadia for the Derby Steakhouse, or wait for 4pm for Dal Rates in Pico Rivera, and so I'm down here visiting a second time the Pollo Mania in El Monte. Got the Lomo Saltado, it's like a Peruvian Brown Sauce stir fry with French fries, Carne Asada, Onions and Flame Grilled Tomatos chopped. And this place gets its done really well. The last time I had this dish was in Hacienda Heights, utter fail, not going to mention which restaurant but it was located near a Habits Burger. Aside from the Lomo I got the Spanish Baked Beans really savory and some corn tortillas. Overall, this place is a great alternative to El Pollo Loco, I'd say the chicken since I had it in a former trip is better than El Pollo Loco. The steak, Aji sauces were great also. Only thing that I think needs improvement is the chimichurri sauce, needs a little more kick, and was a bit too oily, maybe increase the parsley and oregano and throw on a hint of mint + lime. And of course if the place were to offer $3.00 for unlimited Pico De Gallo **dine in** that would be even great 'cause then I can balance the strong flavors with something light, citrus and refreshing. Looking forward to come back and get a whole chicken the next time around.

Peruvian Food is my all time favorite food to have and will always warms my heart. I was in the area of El Monte and my sister recommended this Peruvian restaurant called Pollo Mania. So we decided to go and check it out. Pollo Mania is located at a shopping center where CVC Pharmacy is located on Garvey and Mountain View. We get there and loved the wooden backsplash. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and a Large Chicha Morada. My Sis ordered the same, without the red onions. We waited for a bit for our order to be ready. When we got our order, it was steaming hot and I could smell that it was prepared fresh. The portiion size in my opinion, was very generous. I took a bite and it was so good. The fries were cut fresh and the beef with the onions and tomatoes; along with the seasoning was complemented together. What was so cool is that they included 3 tortillas with order. The white rice along with the juice, just made the meal so enjoyable; along with the pico de gallo, aji and chimichurri are available on the side. The Chicha Morada definitely hit the spot and was refreshing. Our overall experience and customer service was great and really enjoyed the Peruvian Food that was perpared . In my personal opinion, I would recommend Pollo Mania if you want to try a cool fusion of Peruvian Food w/Tortillas. As well as the portions were very generous in my opinion. Next time, I'd like to try their whole chicken - pollo a la brasa.

Tallarin Saltado Pollo and Caldo de Pollo (small)

This was my first time at this restaurant. It was close by, and the pictures of the chicken looked appetizing. The restaurant is small, but the tables are suitable for grouos of four. I ordered Tallarín Saltado-Pollo ($16.75) and a small Caldo de Pollo ($5.25), and my friends ordered Lomo Saltado ($19.45). The restaurant was quick to make the food and was very accommodating with our request for extra plates and utensils. They also provided free ice waters (upon request). The noodle (Tallarin Saltado-Pollo) was tasty and not oily at all. It had a sour note from the tomatoes, and the chicken bits were tender and flavorful. The chicken soup (Caldo de Pollo) was light and came with a small cup of rice and tortillas. There was decent amount of chicken and vegetables inside. I didn't get to try Lomo Saltado, but my friend said that the rice was flavored and tangy. However, they felt the beef was a bit dry compared to the chicken. The portion of each dish was just right for one person. Maybe I would expect a bit more for the price. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this place and may come back again in the future.

Very tasty Peruvian food. Has the 1/2 chicken and was on point. Their traditional Peruvian drinks were perfect. Not to sweet and didn't miss that classic Peruvian taste. Weird to have with with Mexican tortillas lol prefer bread but it was a nice touch.

Really solid place for lomo saltado and Peruvian chicken. Their lomo saltado had that nice wok flavor and good portions. The white rice in this lomo saltado was also really good and had perfect texture and went really well with the sauce/beef/fries in this dish. Their chicken had delicious crispy skin and was juicy and tender inside. Aguadito pollo was a comforting soup with plentiful tender chicken. This is a great Peruvian restaurant and I really enjoyed everything I had here.

My first time here and it was delicious!! I had the 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. I chose coleslaw and rice and they were to die for! The chicken had a lot of flavor. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy and not too sweet. The rice was on point with lots of flavor. Even the flour tortillas were delicious I'll definitely be returning and try everything on the menu. Peruvian chicken on crack! Their chicken is so juicy, moist, and packed with flavor. The orange sauce that they offer pairs really well too! The lomo saltado is also very good, I just wish they would serve the popular green Peruvian sauce! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants near my work. I could eat here everyday. The chicken is always full of flavor and moist. The beans and rice are flavorful! The salsa is perfect and some days it is a little spicier than others. I order the chicken burrito, the chicken bowl, or the 1/4 chicken, which are all very filling and worth the price. Please go here. It's owned by a Peruvian family and is 1000 times better than the El Pollo Loco that is in the same parking lot. I do not know why anyone would choose the chain over this amazing place! read more

Ordered the half chicken combo with french fries and rice. The chicken was delicious and moist. The aji sauce was definitely awesome. The aji is ginger-tasting sauce which surprisingly when I Google aji sauce recipes, ginger doesn't come up as an ingredient (guess I don't have a discriminating taste palette!). The rice was fluffy and flavorful. Unfortunately, I have to take off a star for the lackluster french fries which were soggy and not crispy. They deep fry their fries to order, but I think they probably need to remove the starch by soaking it in water and towel drying the starch off. read more

1st time trying the food here. The service is amazing, they even gave me samples of both soups which were both amazing. The Maracuya drink (Passion Fruit) is so good. I will be back, probably later this week for the aguadito soup!! read more

The chicken was good, but be sure you like cumin because there is a lot of it on it! It's a little pricey compared to other rotisserie options. For some reason they didn't have the hot Peruvian salsa I like there. read more

The lomo saltado is amazing. Come here once a month for lunch. Not much sitting place and parking is always full but but i lobe the place so am willing to deal with the parking. I even order take out and its always ready and i never hve to wait for it. :) read more

Probably the worst pollo saltado I've ever had. Down right greasy! They were so stingy on the chicken pieces and the rice was greasy as well! I was given more rice than pollo saltado. I do not recommend coming to this place. Expensive for small portions and a bucket of grease ($11). For $8, I can have authentic pollo saltado, bread, soup and a drink at a REAL Peruvian restaurant in Pico. read more

This is a local spot around the corner from my place, and they have the best roasted chicken in the area. I love ordering their chicken soup. It's so hearty with chicken and veggies, and made fresh everyday. Sometimes they run out of this stuff. It comes with choice of tortilla and their garlic rice. I love this place! Great friendly service and the chicken is fantastic. The spices used in the chicken are done in a Peruvian style, it's like nothing you've had at any other pollo joint. Whole chicken with two sides $18.95 which is good for at least five. Funny thing there is an El Pollo Loco right across the parking lot, can't imagine why anyone would go there with this place in the same stripmall. The rice is flavored with chicken stock and the fries are fresh cut never frozen, I order these sides every time. Enjoy! read more

super good delicious juicy fresh chicken. yummmmmmmm just thinking about it makes me hungry. I love coming here when I am in the area. I love the aji sauce they serve with their chicken and when it ciomes to sides it's hard to pick the fries, buttery rice and beans are so good. The service is fast and friendly. I see some people commented that the chicken has no taste, they must have burned their tongue and have no taste buds because this chicken is full of flavor, very delicious. read more

I got a special place for this joint, is way better than the Pollo Loco located right in front on the same plaza. This is Peruvian food, so the chicken has a different flavor than most rotisserie places. They also have some desserts from Peru and Inca cola, is a soda that taste like bubble gum. read more

All excellent. Got a 1/2 chicken with fries and coleslaw, a lomo saltado with juicy and tender lomito meat :). And you can't leave without trying the chicken soup (one with rice and cilantro) So delicious. Maria was very friendly with me and we had small talk about our countries because we are both Asian that lived in south america. I had always come back to this location when i want a nice rotisserie chicken. Highly recommended!! read more

The 2 stars is for customer service. Lomo saltado comes with fries mixed in. We asked that the fries be put on the side instead of mixed in multiple times. We received blank stares from the cashier who was young and spoke english. Our order came out with the fries mixed in. Took it back and reiterated for the 3rd time for the fries to be on the side. Original order came back but the cook had picked out the soggy fries mixed in and put it in a separate container. Be cautious if u are not a Spanish speaker because who doesn't understand "fries on the side"??? We wanted the lomo saltado with basically fresh fries on the side, not sogged up on sauce. read more

I stopped here during a drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. It wasn't bad. The rice was good but they gave us a ton. The chicken tacos were good but the chicken was a tad bit dry. I particularly enjoyed the spicy salsa, it was tasty. read more

This is my favorite chicken place! I prefer this chicken restaurant over Church's Chicken, Pollo Loco, KFC, and even Popeyes. Their chicken is delicious and their side orders are fantastic. Everything from their salsa to their rotisserie chicken is well worth it. Their prices are fair and the amount of food you receive is great, you can feed a family of 5 with less than $25. If you're ever craving chicken and are getting tired of those doughy, hard chicken, come and give this restaurant a try. They won't disappoint. read more

I love Pollo a la Brasa Peruvian Style. This place does it very well. There are hardly any indications that it is a Peruvian Style Chicken Restaurant but it is. The chicken is juicy and flavorful as well as big. The Peruvian hot sauce "Aji" is red and made from Rocotto Chile, it is good. Their Mexican Hot Sauce "Salsa Roja" is also very good. They have "Anticuchos" Beef Heart Skewers Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The price is very reasonable and they are fast. read more

Cozy atmosphere for sure. Be prepared to wait for a table to open up while they finish making your food. I just got the chicken bowl, which was perfect, but the 1/4 and 1/2 chicken plates looked absolutely delicious. Recommend either of the soups as well. read more

For all rotisserie chicken lovers out there i have chicken nirvana at Pollo Mania. Findings good eating place in this part LA is not easy and Pollo Mania made it on my short list. The chickeb was so juicy and flavor packed that i would say it rivals the goodness offered at zankou chicken. The sides were also on par with the chicken. i recommend mixing the rice with the creamy orange sauce. Mmm mmm good. Also try u need to try the frys and beans. The frys are marinated in a brine so their is light n salty reminscent of In n Out fries. Everything was amazing so those foodies should try this place out . U will not be dissappointed . read more

My friend took me here today. All I gotta say is everything just blends well. Chicken, rice, beans, salsa, and sauce make a delicious combination. The portions are very large as well. I went with the quarter chicken combo and I was stuffed after leaving. Good eats ! read more

The chicken is delish, really juicy but also a nice crispy skin. Really loved the sauces/salsa too. A hidden gem are the fries, smoking hot straight from the fryer with a crispy outside and pillowy soft inside. A nice change from El pollo loco. read more

Holy hell that was a juicy chicken…read more I decided to treat myself this evening to some fried chicken and saw that this place was open. Decided to drive by around 11:30PM after work. They took my order and the whole thing took about 10 minutes. The man behind the counter was friendly and gave me a two minute heads up before it was done. He packed it quickly thereafter and I was back on my way home. I saw a few of the negative reviews so I didn't have hopes up. I only wanted to have fried chicken, any would do. So imagine my surprise when I tore into my chicken and found it DRIPPING with juices. Hear me out, I've had Korean fried chicken, Japanese fried chicken (not katsu), Chinese fried chicken and NONE were as juicy as this one. I bought the squid ink battered fried whole chicken. From the first bite to the last was a joy. It needed no sauce so I never used the accompanying spices. I will definitely be back.

I forgot to take a picture. Service was good as staff are attentive when you call them over, but mostly leave you alone once you get your food. The restaurant was small, yet clean, but I don't recall if there was a restroom. This restaurant is in a busy plaza, but parking was not an issue.

Although her province is not as famous for spicy food as Sichuan, it is still a place where people truly love heat. She was the one who taught me how to use chili properly and how to cook in a Sichuan-style spicy way. But even she could not handle one bite of the Reaper flavor at Dave's Hot Chicken. She called it "chemical spicy", not the joyful, flavorful kind of spicy you get from serious Sichuan food. This was my first time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken. I am not really a fried chicken person, and I am definitely not a fast-food person. But I became curious after reading a Business Insider newsletter that ranked Dave's Hot Chicken as one of the most popular restaurant chains in America in 2025. With that kind of praise, how could I not try it? There is no Dave's Hot Chicken near my home, even though the company is headquartered in Pasadena, so I had to drive all the way to Rosemead. This location is inside a plaza with The Habit, IHOP, Chipotle, and other fast-food chains, right in the middle of a heavily Chinese residential area. The restaurant is easy to spot because of its funny screaming rubber chicken logo. I used to like that chicken a lot, especially the screaming sound, even though it is honestly very noisy. The interior has a modern industrial, almost nightclub-like style, with neon lights and graffiti-style murals. Everything is designed to feel wild, young, and HOT. When I walked in, every table was occupied by Latinos, and about half of them were teenagers, loud and clearly having a good time. What surprised me was that there was not a single Chinese staff member inside, even though the restaurant is right in the middle of a Chinese neighborhood. Since there were only two of us, and since I am not a big fan of fried chicken, we only ordered one combo with two sliders. One was Hot, the third heat level, and the other was Reaper, the extreme level. I had the Hot one. It was actually very good. The chicken was crispy outside and tender inside. Even though it was chicken breast, which is usually not my favorite part, it was still juicy. I would probably rank it as my second favorite fried chicken. Jollibee is still number one for me, but Dave's was better than I expected. The chicken itself was good, except for the Reaper one. My recommendation is simple: do not even try it. Coco was sweating and her face turned pale after one bite, and she is a well-known spicy lover. That should tell you everything. Another recommendation: eat the chicken with Dave's signature sauce. I do not know exactly what is inside, but it tasted like it had some honey mixed in, and it worked really well with the chicken. The waffle-cut fries were also good. They were crispy outside, soft inside, and not too dry. Again, the Hot level, which is the third level, is just right. Trust me. Do not go higher unless you are doing it purely as a challenge.

Just tasted like any other chicken sandwich chain (think main chick and daves) but bigger. My set standard for chicken sandwiches is Howlin Ray's and it does not come anywhere close. I guess this is a nice convenient spot as my team can't drive too far.

The lady that owns it is super friendly. The videos were right! Each place ranges anywhere from $8-15 depending on what it is, FAR cheaper than other places. I was expecting it to be more American Chinese, but the flavors were pretty good (as a Chinese person who knows home cooking) and might be what you consider as a 'mix' in Chinese flavors. Is it the most amazing Chinese food? Not really, but it's decently good, and I liked it considering the price you pay for it. I will definitely be coming back here.

I've been coming to this Peruvian restaurant since I was seven, and now at 29, I can confidently say it's just as delicious as ever. The place hasn't changed much over the years, and that's a good thing; it's been around for so long because it consistently serves amazing food. Before you even step inside, you're greeted by the sight of rotisserie chicken slowly rotating over an open flame, and the aroma of pollo a la brasa is enough to make your mouth water before you even walk in. While there are plenty of menu options, you'd be crazy not to order the chicken, it's the star of the show. But that's not to say the other dishes aren't equally amazing. They have a wide variety of traditional Peruvian options, but if you decide to go for something else, I highly recommend the lomo saltado, it's a classic and never disappoints. My brother, who's vegan, always orders the vegetable saltado with a side of rice and beans. Even though I'm a meat eater, I always end up sharing his dish, and we make a fair trade, I give him some of my massive portion of French fries when I order chicken. The service here is quick and efficient. You do need to order at the counter and pick up your food, so it's a bit more like a fast-food setup than a traditional dine-in restaurant with waiters. Despite the self-service style, the staff is always friendly and gets your food out fast. This place has become a staple in my life, and every time I visit, it feels like home. Pollo a la brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken) at its best! There aren't a lot of options in the San Gabriel Valley for this type of food, but we have this and it is really good. There are a few other options other than chicken, but I haven't even tried them because the chicken is so good. The chicken is moist and tender and the marinade is great. I always have to battle my inner demons when it comes to eating the crispy tasty skin. Scratch that. I have to battle my inner demons when it comes to how much skin to eat, because I will always eat it. The aji sauce is good, but I wish they had more variety when it comes to sauce. Mr Pollo in West Covina wins in this area. They have specials which include sides at a very reasonable price. Their beans and rice are really good. If you are getting it to go, don't get the french fries because they do not double fry them here and they WILL be soggy by the time you get home. There is seating here but not much. Also, it's not the nicest of restaurants in the nicest of areas, so depending on who you're with, you might want to just get takeout. read more
