Never been here before even though we live nearby. We agreed that what was good was VERY VERY good and what was bad was awful. The chicken fingers were awful. Deep breaded to death and pounded flat, they were skinny, overcooked and over seasoned. Pass! The charro beans were fantastic! Tasted absolutely homemade like Mamaw' beans in the 70's. Delicious! A little spicey but complimentary to the fresh flavors. Honestly, a delicacy. The plantain was excellent. A lovely side companion. My wife's carne asada, served in a chopped heap in an aluminum bath was excellent. Tender juicy and flavorful without being overseasoned. An absolute yes. Today for lunch I went through the drive thru and ordered grilled chicken. When I got to work to eat my lunch, I opened the bag and the chicken was not only burnt, but it was dried out. I went back to the restaurant to show the lady at the counter and she even said, Oh wow, it's burned to the core. You can't tell me that they didn't notice that before they gave it to me. The lady at the front counter gave me some new chicken, but I was late getting back to work on my lunch break. DO NOT GO HERE! The staff along with the manager have no earthly knowledge or common sense on customer service along with what FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU stands for! Unfortunately this was my first time here, and I will never be going back. First of all no one at this place speaks English, second I waited 35 minutes for someone to bring my food out. When I got home which is about 15 minutes away I sit down to eat and notice my order was incorrect I ordered chicken flautas and got home and realized they were cheese. I called back to the store to speak with a manager and she was no help at all. Places like this, with that type of customer service should not even bother to open. I like the food here and they are about 5 minutes from my house. But these employees are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I live alone and have no need to buy 7 tacos at one time, but you can order just 3 if that is what you want. Not so with flautas. I went to the drive thru and asked for 4 chicken flautas. When I got to the window the dude said I had to order 7. I think flautas don't hold up well as refrigerated left overs. I simply and politely asked why I could order tacos in any amount I wanted - why not flautas. He said " Because That is just the way it works around here and if you don't like it you can go somewhere else, maybe Taco Bell, then I could go . . . " . Well you get the message. The only thing worth getting is the grilled/smokey chicken. All chickens come with rice, beans, and tortillas. The chicken isn't as moist, but the seasoning makes up for it. I love the condiments stand, it has with different sauces and salsas. My favorite is the green sauce, which happened to be the spiciest. The lunch menu is pretty good also. You can get half a chicken for $7.50, or 2 pieces of chicken for $3.99. Can't beat that. All el pollo regio I had so far are all good. read more

I arrived promptly and my order hadn't even been pulled up yet....a ten minute wait............. The "large" sides are now a pint instead of a quart......order extra! The charro beans were at least 40%-50% strips of salt pork...........I ordered beans not salty bacon fat........... I did not receive the salsas (one green/one red) that are supposed to come with a "whole chicken"......good thing I ordered extra salsa verde or we would have done without...... I got the half chicken which I'm sure had been under a heating lamp all day long because it was so dry I couldn't Even Eat it. Food was so disappointing. I was craving a quesadilla from Pollo Regio and this location was closest. Sadly, I couldn't even finish half of my food. This "quesadilla" barely had any cheese. The chicken was not like I've had in my quesadillas before - it was shredded with tons for chicken skin and few small bones. My husband ordered a burrito and had the same issue. We definitely think it's the location because we have never had this issue at the Pollo Regio we usually dine in. Three stars for the chips and cashier who was friendly. This Pollo Regio is one of their better locations in Dallas with a beautiful, modern dining area and tasty food to boot. The location is easy to get to...just off Garland Road at Jupiter. Just look for the billowing smoke from the building letting you know that the next batch of roasted chicken is almost ready! One thing that needs to be underscored is that they don't JUST serve rotisserie chicken, but have a full menu of other tasty meals. DEFINITELY try one of the baked potatoes made with chicken, beef or plain style. A must have if you're a foodie. Also try a quesadilla with your choice of meats. Don't even think twice about giving this place a shot, the food is freaking delicious! I've seen this chain in various spots around Dallas but didn't think to stop by until today. Let's just say no one spoke until all the chicken was gone, it was that good. We got the half chicken and split it between two people, it was more than enough. The chicken itself is marinated and grilled/smoked. It is very well spiced, juicy, and delicious! It's reminiscent of tandoori chicken, but a little bit spicier. It came with a great Mexican rice that I used to make tacos out of. It also came with a sweet grilled onion which complimented everything so well. They also have a great salsa bar (think taco cabana set up but 100 times better salsa). They also have free tortilla chips that are authentic. They have this fantastic green creamy salsa that goes so well with their food. Not sure how good the other ones are but this location was very clean and we got great service. Btw, try the churro. The thought here's always so amazing I have seen that there rice is handmade that's why it is different every time but every time we do go it is always so very good reminds me of my grandmother's cooking. I really like this place. It's SUPER clean, cool and comfortable. It was a cool industrial look to it. The music was a mix between current american and latin pop. The menu has a good amount to choose from. The food portions and presentation was on point. They are not greedy with thier food what so ever lol. And I love the salsa bar. So many choices, and they offer free tortilla chips! I don't know maybe it's because I'm a sucker for salsa, but I'd have to say this place is a great stop when you need that Mexican food fix.
