Stopped in for lunch with two colleagues. My colleagues and I decided to sit outside. The server was great . I ordered an espresso martini, the Nisida chicken panini and we we all split the Mista salad. Overall everything was pretty good! Next visit I will try one of the pizzas. Service was slow, but when our server did interact with us, she seemed like she was just trying to rush us out as quickly as possible. Most of the food was good; the high quality you would expect from Pomo. (I would skip on bread though as it was nothing great). I had a great experience here- I ordered a margarita pizza (light cheese) and a glass of Merlot during lunch. I thought the pizza was very good! I'll definitely be back. They have a great little bar half inside half outside, and I know they have happy hour 3pm-6pm, but I wasn't there in time. Stoped into this location for a quick bite for dinner. Ambiance is dark and dingy looking. Looked like they just opened as there was only 1 other guest in the restaurant and like 12 employees. Bartender took a few minutes to greet me. Another employee was training a new bartender and his tone was kind of condescending. We started our lunch with some appetizers. He recommended what works for 4 people. I really liked calamari and shrimp one. Great flavor! For pizza, we ordered two and shared by 4 people. Cheese used on one of the pizza was unique and perfectly complemented the pizza. Dessert I had was supposedly half frozen but it was very frozen. This is our fourth different Pomo that we have visited. Scottsdale, downtown, Glendale(now Bottega), and now Biltmore. Pomo is always very good but there are some distinct differences between locations to note. Firstly I think this Biltmore location has more craft cocktails and a more modern vibe at the bar. We really enjoyed our drinks and the bartender. The food looks the same on the menu and the ingredients appear the same too. The pizza oven is where I think there is a big difference. This Biltmore location has a conventional oven vs the brick ovens at Scottsdale or Glendale. I found the dough to be much tougher at the Biltmore location. Still good pizza, but not as a good as the other locations. read more

Sausage wasn't overpowering and light bring all the flavors of the dish together. Took over 20 mins to even get the host, who happened to be a busboy, cocktail server, waiter, and than host to even try and seat me. While 3 other sets of people were standing in line ahead of me. Stopped by on a Tuesday for happy hour for drinks, an app, and pizza with a friend. We got the calamari to start, and then a Don Alfonso pizza. The $7 calamari was part of their happy hour menu. It was lightly fried and came with a small frisee salad. The pizza was nicely blistered, a little soggy in the middle from steam, but generous with toppings. My wife and I have been here a few times, and we have enjoyed the food very much. They have very good pizza and the pasta is equally as delicious. The reason for my 3 star review is the service we received last time we were here. We had made an outside reservation for 7:45pm. We arrived and checked in with the hostess at 7:40, and although there was an empty table that had been set up and ready to go, we were informed that they were hoping to seat us at a table that had just gotten their check. We sat down at the fire pit and waited. 10 minutes later another couple arrived for their indoor reservation, and although there were no seats available, they were seated in the outdoor empty table. When my wife and I asked why they were given the open table before us, even though we arrived earlier and requested outside seating, and were not given a response, just an "I'm sorry for the wait". Our table the hostess was saving for us proceeded to order another bottle of wine and stayed seated for another 30 minutes, and once they left only then was my wife and I attended too. By that time the couple that was seated after us had already had their food brought to their table. So I ask, does reserving a table inside mean priority seating over those who request outside? Again, as good as the food usually is, this last experience left a poor taste in my mouth, and will be going to other Italian restaurants in the future. read more

I hardly ever give negative reviews but I had to for our experience tonight. We didn't feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. We had a reservation, there were 4 empty tables in the restaurant, and the host said he couldn't seat us because they had other reservations (we were the only ones waiting to be seated in the restaurant). These tables remained empty until we were seated at one of them 15 minutes later past our original reservation time. Both the host and our server seemed stressed and hostile. The restaurant was pretty small and not full so I'm not sure why the attitude/vibes were so bad. Our waters weren't refilled and we kept trying to get someone's attention but it seemed like we were being actively avoided. Our pastas were very good and came out fast, but it took probably 20 minutes to flag down our server so that we could pay. I definitely won't be coming back. This is a tough one... kinda shocked and also embarrassed. Took our friend out for his birthday and highly recommended this place. I used to eat at the Scottsdale location all the time as it was close to my office. Like I said before, unfortunately this location and experience left me shocked and embarrassed. I put on the reservation that it was a birthday and also confirmed when we checked in and when the server came. All of this was before our friend showed up as we tried to make it a surprise for him. We ordered our food, my wife and I got food and our friends got dessert only. My wife ordered a salad with no onions as she is allergic. The salad came out with onions at the bottom but it was hard to see since we were sitting outside and it was dark. After eating a few bites she could tell something was wrong. We used our phone flashlight and noticed all the onions. We told the server and he was super apologetic. He quickly got a new one made and brought it out assuring us there are no onions. He said he told the kitchen again about the allergy. She started eating the new salad and again something was wrong. We used the flashlight again and sure enough, there were onions. At this point I was pissed. This is not something to take lightly and clearly they didn't care. I sent the second salad back and said forget it, we don't need another. The server was again apologizing but we knew it wasn't his fault. Now to the next issue. Our friend's dessert came out with no mention of Happy Birthday, no candle or anything. At this point I think our server was unhinged and started forgetting everything. We had ordered a pizza to go for our kids and he forgot to ring it in. We ordered dessert for my wife and I... he forgot to ring it in. We needed refills and asked for them... he forgot to bring them. I was so embarrassed after highly recommending this place and I felt like I fell flat on my face. Not a memorable birthday for our friend or a memorable dinner for my wife. During all of this one would think the manager would have come by the table.... Nope! It wasn't until the end of our meal when we got our bill that she stopped by. She said I heard we had a small issue here. A small issue? You put onions in my wife's food twice and she is highly allergic... more than a small problem. You also forgot our friend's birthday as well as the pizza to go for our kids, oh and also our dessert... yeah a "small" issue ‍‍. She took care of the desserts as a token, yippee. We asked the bartender why it was so hot and he said the window and door had been open all day (it was 105 out), their AC obviously can't support having the window and door open with the wood fire pizza oven. Honestly, we were shocked because we eat at Pomo in downtown very often and have always had great food. Today not so much. Our fig bruschetta tasted like cream cheese on top of bread with 2 pieces of fig and no honey. Our pizzas, the Quattro fromaggio looked like white soup on top of crust. We pulled a piece out and it was terrible. Soggy, bitter taste. Not the Pomo standard. Our salads were bland and the gnocchi had absolutely no flavor.
