This is the most amazing pizza Ive ever had. The pizza is always crispy on the bottom and cheesy on top like a true New York style pizza. Dave portnoy would absolutely adore this place. The family who owns it always is greeting and has smiles on they always ask me and my buddy how we are doing and they ask us questions and it truly feels so comfortable in that restaurant. And better priced than Grotto, too. I love that the sausage pizza uses the real, shaved sausage meat--not the "dog pellet" style so many others use. Freaking awesome pizza from a very friendly local Delaware family (via Italy!) owned business. Ingredients made fresh daily. Slices only until 4 or 4:30, I can't remember. During the summer, you better call your order in the morning, and don't be disappointed if they tell that the time you want your pizza is all full, but you can get it later, they're that busy. Definitely worth the wait. Very good, chewy, yeasty dough, fresh sauce and yes, sparse toppings--how a pizza should be made unless you are uncivilized and think Pizza Hut or Pappa John's is real pizza. read more

This was my second time ordering pizza from here. We ordered their 16 inch Pomodoro Special pizza with pepperoni, sausage, onion, green peppers, mushrooms, and bacon for $26. We ordered the pizza for the 5 pm pick up. There was no nearby parking. The pizza was ready when we went inside for pick-up. We took the pizza home for dinner. The pizza was one of the better quality pizzas, but still not as good as pizza from New York City or New Jersey. Finally had the opportunity to try Pomodoro's and it was pretty good. The staff here was super nice and they treat you like family. The pizza itself was pretty thin and was a total of 8 slices, although they were larger considering we ordered the XL. Sauce was good, not sweet. And the cheese had a little grease but nothing crazy. We finally made it to Pomodoro while they were open and before they were sold out.....Score ! ! This is a very popular spot, take out only, and when you order they tell you when you can pick up, often an hour or more later. In an are where really good pizza as judged by NY or NJ standards does not exist, this is a shining star. We ordered our standard sausage and onion, a large, it was $26.00. We were told it would be ready in an hour, and exactly one hour later they were taking it out of the oven. We grabbed a few paper plates and napkins, and found a bench in the shade to dig in. We could tell just by looking at it it would be great, and it was. Thin, just the right balance of crust, sauce cheese and toppings. Really tasty, the closest by far to our favorite Italian spots in New Jersey. We were so happy to finally try this treat, the only thing that kept it from 5 stars was it could have been a little thinner crust, a bit crisper and tender, the dough was a bit tough. Don't get me wrong, it is really really good pizza, just a tiny bit of the mark, but we will happily return again and again when we are in the area. read more
