This is pretty much THE best dinner I ever had at a diner! Server Corey did quite an amazing job taking care of our order. She was a very attentive and extremely courteous server taking our order! So the food and drink that I ordered were the Steak Bomb Mac and Cheese with a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary has the salted rim and the following garnishes: - green olive - bacon - pickle spear - grape tomato - bone-in chicken wing with Buffalo sauce As far as how my Bloody Mary was, it was super delicious! Not to be outdone, the Steak Bomb Mac and Cheese have all the toppings of the Steak Bomb sandwich (shaved steak, mushrooms, and salami) in the macaroni and cheese. It was definitely to die for! My husband and I just stopped in it for a quick dinner. My husband had Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a salad. I had the chicken tenders with their homemade nitro sauce, Onion strings, green beans and a salad. The servings are very large. A lot of their sauces are homemade. Came here for breakfast on a whim on our way back down to Boston. They're doing a pretty good job dealing with all the Covid restrictions. They were busy the day we were there. Had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table, but they were great at letting us know they'd be with us as soon as possible. Ate outside under the tent. Food was served on paper plates with plastic utensils and was cold - again, just dealing with what Covid has thrown at them. Not the best experience, but I don't think it was completely their fault. Food was lacking flavor (eggs, bacon, French toast), but prices were decent and they have a huge menu with lots of options. One thing that rubbed us a little wrong was that they were out of a couple items that we had ordered, and when we said we didn't want anything as far as substitutions go, they were pressuring a bit to get us to order something else in its place instead of canceling that part of the order. Stopped in on 3/08/2023 while traveling on the way to Woodstock. My girlfriend had the bloody Mary to drink and said it was excellent, with its garnish of pickles, olive, bacon and chicken wing. She had the pot roast melt and raved about it. Very tender with a house mad gravy for dipping. I had a BBQ Texas burger that was cooked perfectly and delicious. The onion rings were great, very crispy outside with large onion cuts inside. The place was spotless and the staff excellent. A hidden gem that I look forward to visiting again. read more

To add to my husbands post about our experience this morning, we had breakfast with an old friend and was catching up. All 3 of us, being familiar with how busy breakfast time can get, we're very mindful and kept checking to make sure there was no waiting customers coming in. Lisa came over, once asked if we were all set and took our receipt-she wasnt even our waitress. We got a feeling she was giving us a hint, but we looked and there were no customers waiting to be seated. The 2nd time was were she was downright rude, she rudely said your all set now.....there is a line. And walked away. We were very conscious to keep an eye on if we were holding anyone up. It was not the situation, it was the very rude, unappreciated disrespectful manner in which we were approached. It takes alot for me to complain, but I felt the need to tell her it that her approach was rude. Her only response was you been here for 2 - 2 1/2 hours, and we asked if there was a line and she yes. That was her response. She could cared less that she was rude, and we were disappointed. As she walked away she sarcastically said "have a nice day". 1. We didn't ask if there was a line, we were watching. 2. Knowing we have been faithful loyal customers for years, even when that small business was selling stuff during the pandemic, we supported the business. And this was how she handled it. I've been here about seven times since we move here. I have always had great service and the wait is not as bad as the dinner across from this location. The servers are always conscious and well mannered, versus again the one across the street where they are unconscious. The presentation of the food is above what dinner food typically looks like. It's our 4th time there and we shared a bowl of chili which was nicely spiced but luke warm , the lobster salad over salad contained very little lobster salad which was very different and disappointing based on our previous experiences with this same selection. We started with one waitress and ended up with a different one, both appeared to be in a rush though the restaurant was pretty quiet. We also shared the grapenut custard which was served warm ...seemed microwaved because it was unevenly hot in some places and just warm in others. $36 including tip and we left still feeling hungry. read more

Ok, so went here for breakfast an we were greeted by a kraken Karen who said and I quote" HEY, THE AC IS ON SHUT THE DOOR!" this is what is called a hard contact, or an ambush! This is how the Karen in the "not so thin blue line shirt" greets their customers! Apparently having the audacity to set foot inside the vestibule is enough to trigger the witchy waitress. She took two steps toward us with a pot Hot of coffee cocked back in her right hand and a scowl on her face that I have only read about in the most violent and aggressive Bigfoot encounters. So clearly Karen has graduated from the Taliban school of charm. Chest puffed out and eyes bulging she demanded "how many in your group and are they all here ?" Then she said sit where you want. I am fairly confident that the prisoners at Concord State Prison were treated better when the went to the mess hall for breakfast this morning. The food was good and our server was nice. I have been going there throughout the pandemic to pick up food and eat in the tent and giving generous tips, when in the area, needless to say that's over. So, if you like to be treated with Complete disrespect and hostility, and disdain I strongly recommend you make your way to poor Boys for some overpriced food and some good old verbal abuse, and the pièces de résistance the death stare. Author note; this was a situation that I have not had here previously, most of the servers are professional, I actually feel sorry of the other staff who have to work with Taliban Jane. Last time I went to this restaurant. We were treated poorly and we felt like outsiders. That was almost 10 years ago. Gave it a 2nd chance and so glad I did. I ordered a burger which was delicious. We called ahead to make sure they had seating for our family. We told her we would be there hopefully in about 10 minutes. The woman on the phone was a bit rude. Figured it was early Sunday morning, and maybe she had just got there. So we let it go. Upon arrival, I went in to let her know we were there. It took us 15 minutes to get there. The woman at podium said about 10 -15 minutes. No problem. As we start seeing people go in and not come out, my son went in to ask. The woman was once again rude, she told him about 15-20 minutes. Then looks at another waitress and say" pretty good, they say they will be here in about 10 minutes, and show up an hour later." Like I said, I had already gone in to tell her once, we were only 5 minutes later than what was said. No one ever came out to get us, like they were with others. I don't know if it was because we were from Massachusetts and she could tell we were not from New Hampshire. Either way, it was not right that we were treated so different. We are human just like everyone else you seated in your restauran. DON'T GO IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED PROPERLY. I am not new to going somewhere and have someone ask if I am from Mass. They say there is an accent. We were a grand total of 5 minutes late. You were rude when my son went in to ask about a table. We were outside sitting on benches. I haven't been to Poor Boy's in a long time and now I know why. They now add a service charge to your bill without you knowing it. I asked about it and was told it was because the cost of food increased and they didn't want to change the menu prices. So what you see on the menu is not what you're going to pay. Also, as far as following COVID-19 rules, they are lacking. They had a party of 8 people and just added a table to the end of a booth. Came in early Sunday morning and ordered a bacon omelette w/ extra home fries , there was a man harassing the waitress during my visit , the home fries are really bad , they taste frozen , the omelette fell apart and was squirmy and the worst part the bacon inside wasn't cooked , waitress didn't give the right change back after charging me for the bacon ... 1 star is a fair review as I'm still hungry ! Feb 2020 - we went back to Poor Boys and it was as good this time as it was last! While most of the staff is pleasant as can be, we unfortunately got someone who wasn't thrilled to be there....interacting with people. But, given the food is so good and everyone else was nice as could be - we had several other servers engage because our less than pleasant waitress was not around a whole lot but others picked up the slack. We'll be back for more enjoyable breakfasts in the future! Dec 2019 - Outstanding!! My daughter and I love going out to breakfast and my husband will go to appease us, but this time around he was the one saying he's looking forward to going to our to breakfast again soon, if we can go back to Poor Boy's! Everything was outstanding! Between us we had a decent variety of items and it was all great; pancakes, eggs, an omelet, several types of potatoes, and it was all amazing! Both the scrambled eggs & omelet were freshly made; no soggy eggs here! While we don't live too close, we'll gladly drive by several other breakfast places in order to return here soon. I would definitely say the food is on the pricier side, but everything is delicious! Many items comes with "bonuses" such as a cup of soup with many entrees or a coffee with some breakfast meals, which can even out prices if you were getting those things. The portions are huge and if you can actually manage to eat everything, there is no room for desert. Dozens of visits and I still haven't been able to get dessert. They also have a rewards program which is $10 off every $100 spent or something like that. If you go often or in large groups, it adds up quickly. All you need is to give them your name; no need to carry a card around anywhere. I have had multiple things from both the breakfast and dinner menu and have never been disappointed! OK. don't know what people are talking about. This had to be the rudest eating experience i've had locally. Two of us can't be seated because third person is 5 minutes in coming - we can't seat parties in advance. OK. Wait outside - other patron reminds us that this is the best breakfast food around. OK. Sit down, finally order, 1/3 through the plate, owner (yes, I'm told by my seatmate that that was the owner) comes by and asks if we need boxes - apparently too much talking and not enough eating. I ask for more coffee - get a stare. So, we're more or less finished but enjoying a good conversation, again, owner comes over - are you guys finished, because we have a line out the door. OK. Got the hint, eat and leave please - no loitering, apparently. Walk outside - six people 'waiting' and tables available inside. Spent 20 minutes in the cold parking lot finishing conversation.
