We love being regulars at Poppyseed! There is something for everyone (even a couple of Vegan options)! The service is always fantastic and many of the servers have worked there since opening. The only negative in my opinion is the size of the restaurant - this place is way too good and has outgrown their current capacity size quickly. I hope they will be able to expand soon so that it won't be quite as crowded. read more

The Food is fantastic, coffees are delicious. Something for Everyone (we have meat eaters, vegetarians & vegans.) Service is quick, friendly and very accommodating. The Ambiance is Family oriented. Eat in or on the Patio. Games for the kiddos. It has become a "must stop" on the way down South (Ft Mill, SC is right outside of Charlotte, NC) and/or on our way back North. AMAZING! 10 out of 10!! We decided to try Poppyseed Kitchen for the first time today and we were blown away! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The waitstaff was very attentive and everything we ordered off the menu was fresh and delicious! We sampled some homemade pastries (Apple hand pie and maple bacon croissant) which were out of this world! The biscuits were huge, eggs cooked perfectly, potatoes were crispy on the outside and seasoned just right, and the thick slice bacon was the perfect flavor of sweet and salty! Our only regret is not taking photos of all the delicious food before devouring it! We will definitely be back!! read more

Finally made time to check out Poppyseed Kitchen. It was well worth the wait. First of all the devine aroma of brewed coffee welcomes you as soon as you you walk in. And it did not disappoint, the coffee was excellent. Hubs choose The Grits with Salmon. He was surprised that the salmon portion was what he called 'a dinner portion. He said the grits were very flavorful. He would definitely get it again. I got the Ranch Hash. Oh my! It was amazing. Braised short ribs, rosemary potatoes, tomato onion jam and arugula with a slice of sourdough toast on the side. My mouth is watering again just writing this. So sorry I didn't take photos. Everyone greeted us when we walked in. I had "The grit". It was amazing. I loved the combination of stewed tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach with a over easy egg. It was a party in my mouth and I was the happiest. My husband got "The Local". It has homemade Turkey sausage, egg, and biscuit. The jam was homemade too and we fought over who got the rest. Um...wow...ate there for the first time yesterday, we were a group of 4. Pretty sure the gentleman that helped us was the owner, if not maybe management. He was excellent, service was amazing which is very important considering service is dying in this industry. The food was something else, something amazing. We had 4 different dishes, all four were nothing short of perfection. The food and flavor combinations made it not only delicious but fun to eat. I was brought here by my girlfriend and was so impressed. The food was fantastic! And it was the little things that made a huge difference, like the stool in the bathrooms for little ones to wash their hands, the diaper changing setup, and even the placement of hand soap in the bathroom that was poppy-scented. We decided to check out Poppyseed because Z Bakery was closed. The kid was not happy. That changed when we got seated at the coffee bar with Dior as our server. She was completely swamped with coffee drinks but kept an eye on us the whole time. The kid had the bird sandwich & fries. He picked off the pickles, yay for me, they were so good.
