Pork on a Fork, that rhymes and I'm here for it. I checked them out not once, but twice at Innings Festival and Extra Innings Festival. They were one of the food vendors at these two music festivals in Tempe. I'll preface this review by saying that an event is a different experience than your typical one. Serving food for a large group of people is easy. People want good food and they want it fast. Those two things often oppose each other a bit. Now let's get back to it. Ambiance (N/A): Not the typical Pork on a Fork experience so nothing to share here. Service (4/5): I got my food quickly, paid quickly, and went on my way. Exactly what you want at a music festival where time is at a premium. Drinks (N/A): Since they were a vendor at the festival, they were only selling food. Food (4/5): I went with the loaded nachos (beans, cheese, BBQ sauce) with brisket one day and the mac attack (mac and cheese, hot Cheeto dust, and BBQ sauce) with pulled pork on the second day. The nachos and mac and cheese were mediocre at best. They tasted store bought. The meat however, was pretty good. Especially for a festival where a lot of the food available isn't great and it's overpriced. As a BBQ joint, the meat hitting is what I hoped for. And it did. The meats were tender, flavorful, and the BBQ sauce was delicious. It exceeded my expectations. Which is why I came back a second time. Next time around, checking them out at their brick and mortar location would be nice to see how the standard experience compares. read more

The brisket was tender and flavorful, however, very fatty. The green beans were by far the worst I've had in years they over cooked them so much. They try to make up for it by dosing it with half of the pepper shaker and more salt. Mac & cheese was good. My big complete was a ripped us off adding 25% to the bill because we used a gift card. I've never heard of that. Not even so sure it's legal definite we will not be going back. read more

Great spot for a quick meal, whether that is lunch or dinner. When you walk in you order at the counter and the employees are very helpful with questions you may have and they are very kind. I got one of the bowls and the portion was great. We also ordered the kids chicken tenders with the mac and cheese side and they were a hit. The customer service is great with a friendly neighborhood greeting and warmth. The first round of brisket was cold, dry and tough, even after initially requesting "moist" which is typically "the point" of the brisket. However, I was served the brisket "flat" cut that was so dry the cut surface of the meat had a crust. Since I believe in second chances, I returned my plate of meat to the crew and politely asked for a "redo" with 1/2 lb of moist, tender and warm slices of the brisket point. They were so hospitable and accommodating that I was truly touched by their sincerity. So glad we worked through the first round because the "redo" was great! Regarding the side dishes, the curly fries were hot, crisp and tasty while the Mac & Cheese was mushy and without flavor. I will say the attentive women behind the counter offered to replace my side dishes as well, but I didn't feel the need to do so as the fries were so good. The food was delicious. Our favorite were the half rack of ribs that had lots of flavor to them was super good. We also enjoyed the brisket and sausage. The pulled pork was good as well as the pulled chicken. For sides, we got mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, and barbecue beans. We wanted to try a little of everything so we got the brownie with ice cream as well as the banana pudding. We would pass on the banana pudding next time due to its artificial flavor, but all in all the dining experience was great. We've come in a couple of times and always enjoyed the food. Today we came a little earlier in the evening and they asked us if we wanted to dine in or take it to go, I was taken a back. I was not aware that there was a dining room because it's tucked away around down the hall, but it was very cute. The dining room is giving Texas vibes with the very laid-back atmosphere and the wood on the walls and the American flag hung. Our family of 3 enjoyed all of this for $80. Don't pass up this spot!! Great bbq!!! The majority of our party did the 3 meat 2 side meals. Food was quick to the table, ordering was easy and the food was enjoyed by all. The brisket was my favorite though the chicken and pulled work were easily just as good. The sides were good too. I enjoyed the Mac n cheese was great as well as the slaw which was crunchy not soggy. Bonus surprise was the fresh chocolate walnut cookies that they gave us at no charge. The dining area was had a food hall vibe that they did the best the cod do with the style of building it was in. We used Pork on a Fork for our son's rehearsal dinner. It could not have been a better experience! I worked with Veronica, and she was wonderful! From advising me on food and service/delivery options, to making a couple of headcount adjustments, she took such good care of us and made it all seamless! We hadn't eaten at their restaurant i several years because we had moved further away, so had our fingers cross when the food arrived that it would be as good as we had remembered. We opted to go with the drop off delivery. The food exceeded our expectations! The portions were plentiful, the brisket was juicy and tender and flavorful -- some of the best we have ever had! The pulled pork was cooked to perfection and the bacon wrapped meatballs were fantastic, so flavorful -- they disappeared quickly! Usually I rate a restaurant down due to service or food quality, but we loved both of those things here. We all talked after trying our first meal here and my family had the following recommendations. We thought the parking was lacking. Understandably, when you're part of a business park, you only have so many assigned spaces. When we got there I counted about six, yet inside we were the only ones there, so guessing staff members are taking the front parking and if that's the case, it sets you up for a poor review already. We felt the entrance line process, ordering and menu to be a confusing process. We can't order on one side of the black rope but have to be on the other side. A couple people ordered the same things but they weren't served the same way. We asked if there was a place to sit (to eat) and we were told standing room only. I didn't realize there was a dining area until just now. Perhaps the server assumed we meant while we were waiting? Aside from these things, we felt the staff were friendly and it was great to see the original owners still taking part in the day to day operations of the business. Everyone said they got more food than they expected and everyone also said they'd like to go back again because the food tasted great! I'll just throw in the cornbread was cold and so was the butter so it wasn't easy to spread and was less appealing. Looking forward to trying other menu items. read more

On arrival I was greeted by very friendly employees.  We went for the picnic pack as there was a lot of meats to try. Sausage had a nice snap and was juicy and full of flavor.  One of my favorite meats. Brisket was lean and the dry rub had a nice peppery flavor. Pulled pork was tender and juicy.  Light smoky flavor made very tasty with the addition of a bit of sweet sauce. Chicken was tender and juicy with a light smoky flavor. They have some different sauces here with my favorite being the sweet sauce.  Employees told me they smoked their meats with a mix of hickory and pecan wood.  Place has a huge dining room in the back. One thing that made me very happy here was the drink selection.  They have Hires Root Beer which was my favorite drink when I was a kid.  Hires has a sweet root beer flavor and lots of foam which I love. read more

On the hunt for some amazing BBQ today and we hit the jackpot when we walked into Pork on a Fork. If I'd of just been driving by I might of missed this place located amongst an industrial park. Lucky for me I knew where I was headed. Good news for you if you are a passer by they have many signs near the street to hopefully get some customers. Parking lot size is decent and we didn't have an issue. Once inside we were greeted instantly. I will admit I was a bit taken aback by the guy standing right in front of the entry ready to take an order; not behind a counter, but quite literally at the entrance. There is a good size menu on the wall above to help you choose. My eyes instantly locked on the Midwest Monster sandwich, it included shredded pork and brisket, included coleslaw and jalapeños, yes please. They have a regular size or a mini, I chose the mini. It came with two sides so I chose green beans and coleslaw. My husband chose the Big Boy meal which includes all four meats and two sides. He added Mac n cheese and baked beans. We were given a number and told they would bring everything to us. There is a fountain drink station up front then from there there is a hallway that leads you to a good size seating area. This is definitely a happening lunch spot. Everyone was all smiles and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our food arrived quickly from who'd I assume was either the owner or manager. He was awesome, friendly and we even laughed at his comment about my husband dating to wear a white shirt into a bbq place. (Good news he didn't spill a thing) . Not only did everything smell divine, but it was all so delicious. I can't even put my finger on what was our favorite because we loved it all. I'd say front runners were the brisket which was still moist, Smokey flavor and every bite was phenomenal. I love pulled pork sandwiches, but this new take with the monster was what I didn't know I'f been missing. The kick from the jalapeño and added brisket was amazing. The green beans by far were our fave, followed up by the coleslaw, baked beans then Mac n cheese. All were great, but we found the green beans best. We also noticed a pic with the owner and guy fieri from Diners, Drive in and Dives. The vibe was great, clean place, fast and friendly service and the food was too notch. What a great find! I have driven past this place a few times. Seen a sign that said.. "Best BBQ Ever"! I stopped for that reason. I decided to pick up dinner from here. I came in on the best day Ever! Prime Rib Day! Oh my! What a treat. I was greeted with a smile from a young gentleman. He was so happy to assist me. He tells me we have Prime Rib tonight. The way he described it. I knew it had to be good. He was glowing and excited about it. I ordered a Prime Rib Dinner, Half rack of Ribs and a half pound of pork. Prime Rib was the best I have ever had. It had wonderufl flavor. Tender and juicy. It was accompanied by horseradish and aus ju. It was for my bf. The Ribs were tender and full of flavor. Each dinner came with 2 sides. We tried Mac and cheese, green beens, and baked beans! Baked beans and mac were good. The pork oh man, I was disappointed no flavor at all just smoked. I was shocked considering everything else was wonderful. Last but not least the young girl checking me out to pay was NOT nice. She rushed me through ordering with the happy workers and over charged me for 2 sides that came with my meal. So word of advice. Always get and check your reciept! We ordered for take out, the big boy (4 types of meats) and a pulled pork sandwich. The pork was succulent and very flavorful. We opted for the mild and sweet sauce which rivals some of the best sauces I've ever had. Although offered additional sauces at pick up, they didn't include it (as well as forgetting salad dressing for two side salads). Loved the brisket which had a signature layer of fat. Again. Well seasoned, tender and moist. The chicken was dry and tasteless to the point of not even being able to identify it as chicken. The sausage was much too dense and had the consistency of a canned or potted meat and was over cooked. We will try this place again when it's not so close to closing time and I'll be sure to accept and check that I received the other types of sauces. I give the brisket and pork a 5 star and I'll just say away from the sausage and chicken. read more

I am new to the deer valley airport area and have been disappointed in the quality of food in the area. I have been randomly trying every spot in the area and stumbled across Pork on a fork driving by and glad I made the u turn to stop and try it. Great high quality BBQ place with nice selection of meats and different ways to have it served. I went with a medium chicken sandwich with corn bread and mashed potatoes side. I was very pleasantly surprised by this gem sitting in the middle of an industrial park and east to miss. I will be coming back for sure. read more

OK, I love this place. I have been going here way before they got digital screens. They change the menu a little on how it was set up and everything, but I still love it.. I find it sad that the price went up, because if you go in the afternoon, the people are a little bit more lazy at covering up the food and the chicken is dry in the afternoon. I am happy when I go there around lunchtime because the food is perfect. I just find it sad that I go there for a date night and the food isn't the best. We had them delivered for a manager's meeting. Bree is the best! So I ordered through their website and checked out as a guest. Apparently I must've entered my email wrong because I never got an email. When the driver delivered, there was no itemized receipt. I had to call the store to see if they can send one over, since the accounting dept was bugging me for a receipt. I spoke with Bree. She said there was a lunch rush, but to give her a few mins to text it to me. It did take closer to an hour to get to me, but I'm not complaining. She saved my behind because I needed it to turn in to accounting. She even called me afterward to make sure I got it. The food was excellent, too. None of the 4 people who ordered had ANY complaints. As a matter of fact, we all ended up taking their little sauce cups home. I had the brisket bowl with mac/rice sides. I wish I had gotten a bigger plate. I inhaled that food so fast. This attempt: I tried the Deluxe sampler for variety... and the brisket was dry yet again. Plus... there was no gravy on the mashed potatoes. We stopped for takeout on a weekday at 4:00. Not busy and great friendly service. We both had 1/2 pork sandwich, Arizona style with topping of green Chiles and a bbq sourcream sauce, and 2 sides. First of all, the bun. Dry, plain, and as standard (cheap) as you can get. I expected better for a $15 meal. Too small for the size needed for a 1/2 pound of meat. The meat itself moist, juicy but no taste on its own. Not seasoned whatsoever prior to smoking it?? The taste of what you eat is from all the toppings/sauces, not the meat itself. Sides of bbq beans were runny, more mashed than whole beans. The Mac n cheese was dry. No cheesey sauce consistency, must have been all absorbed into the pasta if any to begin with.
