Bloomed has really bloomed! I came here one year ago and was blown away by this plant based kitchen. I decided to give it another go, to see if I lived up to my own hype. And it definitely did. The menu has stayed pretty similar, with a lot of the same favorites returning like the oyster mushrooms! But this time I tried the gnocchi which was super flavorful and filling. But what blew my away was the salmon. It genuinely smelled and tasted just like salmon! And I loved that the dish wasn't super inventive, just some quinoa and a sauce which realu made the salmon shiny. I cannot believe it was all plant based. For dessert we had the pavlova which was light and bright! Overall, twice was just as nice! I would definitely still recommend Bloom.

I came back to Bloom to try their brunch and it was sooo good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a reservation but it was not very crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was attentive and the food came out so fast. The two of us shared food and honestly, this was more than enough. The drink I ordered was the defying gravity. It was so good, not too sweet, and very pretty. We split the turnip causa and the cajun maitaki. The turnip causa was so interesting. I don't think I've ever had anything like it before, but I enjoyed it. The turnip was flavorful. The other dish was a spin on chicken and waffles. The mushrooms were so well done and they gave a huge portion. The outside was crispy and inside was tender and soft. The waffles were perfect and the cajun glaze was a good touch. I would definitely come back for brunch! The endive salad sounded yummy but we were too full in the end.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]An absolutely amazing plant-based restaurant with a killer happy hour, incredible vibes, delicious food that you wouldn't be able to guess is plant-based, and wonderful service to top it all off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their drinks selection is a bit limited and mainly consists of gin cocktails. Would love to see more tequila/mezcal drinks and I think they would nail it. The happy hour apps were delicious. I'd definitely come back for happy hour, and on Tuesdays they have a 2 dinners for $75 deal

Have been wanting to try Bloom so thought Restaurant Week would be a great time. Overall, the food was pretty good. Started with the crab cake which was very yummy. The mushrooms oysters was a favorite dish for the table - crunchy, spicy and delicious. I had the lasagna which I loved. My husband had the gnocchi which we didn't love - the sweet potato made it dense and the gochujang was interesting, offing a mild taste. That dish just wasn't for us. The desserts were... fine. Service was rushed and honestly not very friendly. All and all I might come back for the food, but the experience could be more welcoming.

I came here for the Grand Cheese Board. Yes it's pricy, but I was celebrating my birthday and exploring vegan goodies in Chicago. It comes with porcini pate, seasonal fruit preserve, mixed nuts, cashew requeson with ancho chili agave, pimento goat cheese, ash truffle cheese, mustard seed spread, house pickles, papadum crackers, and sourdough bread. Get in my belly! The Jackfruit Shortrib is impressive! It is infused with smoky-sweet sauces and charred for texture. It also came with crispy garbanzo beans, arugula, and Potato Mille-Feuille. Though I can't remember the names, I remember I enjoyed them. Both in flavor and in the strength of the buzz. A+ for atmosphere, presentation, and obviously the meal. I like this place! Perfect spot for our intimate and low-key celebration :)

This is a great spot to add to your happy hour rotation!! I came here on a Monday around 5:30pm. (Their happy hour is 5-6pm.) Their happy hour menu is small but mighty! And the perfect amount of selection and food for 2 people. For the quality of vegan food and price, this is a happy hour deal that is almost unbeatable (their sister restaurant Amaru (not vegan) tops the list for me, but this place matches the quality of food, service, and creativity!). Between my partner and I, we got 2 cocktails (Alone in Kyoto and Bloom's Garden; $8 each). My favorite was Bloom's Garden because I love a refreshing and botanical gin-based drink! The presentation was also beautiful with the flowers on top. We also got 3 food items off their happy hour menu: whipped feta, turnip causa, and crispy oysters. Each dish was packed with flavor and the perfect balance of texture variation. My favorite was the whipped feta. The "feta" is made with cashew and was so creamy! And it was served with a tomato Makhani which offered a savory pairing with the cashew feta, and was perfect with the sourdough bread. The bread was perfectly crispy, fluffy, soft, and fresh out the oven! We ended up asking for extra bread to scoop up the rest of the sauce which was $5 extra and totally worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience and service was excellent! Very clean, sleek, and a beautiful space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Attentive servers but not too much so. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

The happy hour is easily 5/5, one of the best happy hours in Chicago along with their sister restaurant, Amaru! There are a selection of thoughtfully crafted gin-based cocktails for $8. They look beautiful and taste delicious! I had the Alone in Kyoto which was citrusy and not too sweet. The bloom's garden really smelled like a garden and had a beautiful purple gradient. Service was really friendly and checked in frequently and refilled waters often. The food was incredible. The tuna causa was like a hand roll but with potato croquette and smoked turnip on top. I loved the creaminess and smokiness of the turnip. The crispy oysters were super good too, the sauce and crunch reminded me of orange chicken, in a good way. The whipped feta was incredible. The cashew feta and tomato makhani with the perfectly charred sourdough bread exceeded my expectations of what a bread and cheese dip could be. The spices in the tomato gave it a really deep flavor profile and their sourdough is perfectly crunchy yet soft. We had extra sauce leftover so we put in an order of extra bread to finish it up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All the plants inside and the decor give it a really calming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had good music playing at a comfortable volume where you can have a conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The water cups are my favorite with the textured walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the fancy plates they use for their dishes, it elevates the experience but the vibe is on the more casual side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restrooms were really clean too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall definitely would recommend bloom, check the hours on their website for happy hour. Currently it's 5-6pm Sun-Thurs. They also have a Tuesday dinner special, a 3-course dinner for 2 for $75! It's a total of 4 dishes and 1 dessert.

Going vegan--especially with no fried foods--can definitely make dining out a bit tricky. Right now, I'm doing a cleanse, which limits my food options quite a bit. My sister wanted to take me out for my birthday, so we decided to try Bloom Plant Based Kitchen, located at 1559 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL. The interior was super cute--very earthy and green, with a calming vibe. Our waitress was wonderful, even though it was a busy day. She was friendly and tried her best to answer all our questions. That said, I would've appreciated more photos on the menu. The descriptions were fine, but for a newcomer, it was hard to know what to expect. I tried checking Yelp for photos, but unfortunately, most of the dishes that caught my eye were no longer on the menu, which was disappointing. Since I'm currently avoiding fried foods and sweets, the brunch menu had very limited options for me. (Totally a me thing--I get it.) I did want to mention that their brunch menu doesn't include dinner items, so just something to keep in mind when planning a visit. I ended up getting the vegan omelette, which was flavorful and delicious. My sister, who's also doing the cleanse, went with the double cheese vegan burger. She thought it was just okay--the patty could've used more seasoning. Overall, the experience was decent. My dietary restrictions definitely played a big role in what I could try, so I feel like I didn't get the full Bloom experience. But the staff was kind and accommodating, and I'd be open to giving it another shot post-cleanse. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Bloom has impressed me. I came here with a friend to get dinner and wow. I got the Citrus Got Real drink and it was pretty good. It tasted like a creamy lemonade. The salmon was made in house and really imitated salmon flavor and texture. The garlicky farro at the bottom was well cooked and had tons of flavor. Finally, the dessert was amazing. We ended up getting two of the same thing. For me, it was the berry preserve that sealed the deal. The texture was good and it was not too sweet. Service was very slow and the time between the courses and ordering didn't make much sense. The food was small bites at entree prices. Some items were a complete miss and a few were top notch. An example is the oysters, they had potential for great flavor but they were fried very hard for no reason and wish it had more than 2 pieces of broccoli since there were no sides of broccoli available. My hubby had the carbonara with cutlet and it had a overly smoky taste. Same as our peppers we ordered. I thought the smoky flavor was from the peppers but after tasting the pasta I wondered if they went overboard with the liquid smoke. The drinks were okay but nothing notable. This was our 5th stop of the day of all vegan food and was the biggest disappointment. I was excited to surprise my husband with this dinner experience but I regretted it. It's a very hipster place and I could see the other patrons enjoying it but I assume we are not the demographic for it. It was beautiful decor and a welcoming environment.

The food is all vegan and mostly gluten free and gourmet. They serve brunch on weekends and dinner I think everyday. Everything is creative, tasty, delicious. The service is always very friendly and welcoming. They appreciate their customers and regulars and always seem genuinely happy to see me. Rarely is there a mistake and if so they make it right promptly. They have even given me discounts and free items just to thank me. I love their specials and special events where they do a multi course meal with descriptions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is upscale but casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have plants around the room and proudly display their greenhouse of on site grown herbs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their cocktails are a work of art as well. Easily accessible from the blue line Damen stop or a pleasant walk from the Clybourn Metra station. They are sustainable and choose to maintain a small menu of seasonal items that they update and change periodically to take advantage of new ideas and sustainable ingredients. My go to for a good weekday dinner :)

Dear Bloom, I know I may not seem like much of a restaurant-goer. And I guess I'm not. I only go out to eat once every week or two. Or three. It's not that I'm not excited about going out. It's just that I haven't yet met the right restaurant. I'm not like the other eaters. I've been gluten-intolerant for years, and that's put some limits on what I can eat, which made navigating menus a pain. But when my cardiologists put me on a vegan diet late last year...? Well, that was that. Bloom, you're everything I've ever wanted in a restaurant. I want your whole menu -- there's nothing about you that's outside my diet. And you're classy! You always look pretty. Love love love it! My husband and I are not vegan, however we love chef cuardos and love amaru, so we had to check out bloom. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING was great. Vegan or not, you have to check this place out. Small to medium size plates perfect for sharing. They have a few large plates too but this place is perfect for trying different things with a group. I was obsessed with the yuca gnocchi and potato tostones. The restaurant is beautiful, and they have a great cocktail menu. Can't wait to come back. read more

This was such a neat experience because it's totally plant-based! I really prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan, but a lot of times it means sacrificing flavor or only getting to choose from a few options on a menu. This was like being a kid in a candy store! There were so many delicious items but my favorite was the "caviar" on the potatoes. It's incredible how the flavors were so similar to non plant based! read more

This place is a real treat. We save going here for fancy occasions, but we love it when we do. The carrot dumplings and nopales schnitzel are my favorites! I think it's a tie between here and Fancy Plants Kitchen for me for when I want a date night somewhere special. Try it out! read more

Delicious, healthy, and reasonably priced. The schroom and chorizo flatbread especially was magical. I asked my friend, a carnivore who'd never been to a vegan restaurant, if the Bloom's buffalo cauliflower, chorizo flatbread, and ceviche would scratch the itch when craving wings, pizza, and seafood - and he said yes, they were perfectly acceptable substitutes! read more

I just had one of the best vegan meals I've ever had. We started off with these appetizer tacos that were amazing and then I got an avocado filled with this corn salad surrounded by plantain chips. My friend got a mushroom flatbread with coconut mozzarella and arugula. We ended our meal by splitting the two desserts, flan and avocado key lime ice cream. We loved every bite of every dish. And our server, Nisha, was wonderful. I can't wait to come back again. read more

I have never had better vegan food.. ever. I walked in on a Tue evening, and found that the place was super busy. I luckily got a table. The service was great, super friendly staff. I ordered the carrot dumplings, gnocchi and the coffee mousse. And finished all 3 by myself.. Everything was SO delicious! Highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh their palate with top notch vegan food. read more

For a restaurant to be fully gluten-free as well as plant base is truly phenomenal. I wasn't expecting much because most restaurants that offer this aren't that amazing in taste, quality, or presentation but Bloom, each time I've been, has done an absolutely stunning job. Each dish I've had was *chefs kiss*. The staff is super accommodating and kind, and the overall ambience is great. read more

i was looking for some vegan spots while staying with my friend in Wicker Park and this one did not disappoint. the service was great and the host and server were sooo sweet and helpful. i wounded up getting the shrooms and waffles while my boyfriend got the chilaquiles. we shared the truffle fries too! we were so impressed with how everything tasted and the local butterfly kombucha was delicious as well. it was so nice to be able to sit inside while the garage-thing leading to the street was open and bringing in fresh air on such a nice day. i can't wait to come back next time i visit! read more

Three friends and I visited Bloom Plant Based Kitchen last week for an early dinner before going to the theater. One of our group was vegan, one vegetarian and two willing to share in a vegan food adventure. Overall, the food was delicious. Two of us shared the Grand Cheese Board which had an array of 4 cheeses with crackers, pickles, mixed nuts and other accompaniments arranged on a large platter. It was just enough for two people to share as their meal. The cheeses were actually more like cheese spreads than wedges or slices. The ash truffle cheese was the favorite - very yummy! The pimento goat cheese needed a little more tang. One of our group ordered the beet tart, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Expecting the plate to be dominated by beets, it had only two very small, but pretty, red beet garnishes on top fo the tart. It was presented as a lone tart on the plate - perhaps nicely arranged beets and bits of greens would have given more eye appeal and delight in finding more of the primary ingredient that the menu listed. The tart was quite good. The vegan in our group had the Summer Risotto. The risotto was tasty and had fresh bits of fresh corn and peas sprinkled on top. The tempeh was served in chunks also nicely arranged on top of the risotto. It was a bit dry but very tasty and worked well with the risotto. Overall, we had a wonderful time, our server was very helpful and cheerful, and the ambiance was lovely and energetic. We were at Bloom for a 5:00 reservation, and it was our first visit. Unknowingly, we found ourselves in happy hour which offered 20% off the price of our dinner. read more

We had an AMAZING dinner at Bloom last night after reading abut the opening in Chicago Eater. For day one, Bloom really had its act together, and the inspiration and creativity of the chef and team delivered in a big way. The servers also were friendly and knowledgeable. Started with cheese plate that was fabulous. For a dairy free, gluten free girl, this place offered decadent alternatives that hit the spot. We especially loved the spirulina "blue cheese" with seed crackers, pumpkin seeds and a sweet jam. Next we had an incredible flat bread pizza, with coconut mozzarella cheese on cauliflower crust. I'm craving it today! We also sampled one of the tacos, which was delish. The lasagne was tasty but surprised us as it was served cold. Then we finished it all off with the sweet potato cheesecake and a decadent chocolate coffee heavenly treat. We loved it so much that we bought an extra pizza and cheesecake to bring home. I highly recommend this place, especially if you eat dairy free, gluten free and can appreciate such fresh, inspired alternatives. Congrats to Bloom! read more

Bloom was a great experience. As a vegetarian, I am really wanting this place to thrive. I will echo some of the other reviewers that complained about the salt issue. I'm actually not a salt sensitive person. I put it on everything. But I can tell when when others i'm dining with are having issues with it. That aside the flavors and umami of these dishes is extraordinary for being plant based. If you're a bold enough, don't tell your friends you're all going to a veg restaurant. I guarantee you, they will by blown away by what they are eating. And you'll get props for giving them a new experience. Quick guide to what we had. The Sun-dried Tomato sashimi - 5 star The Red Carrot Dumplings - 5 star Cactus Schnitzel - 5 star (fantastic, salt was noticed though) Cognac Swedish Meatballs - 4 star (a little too much salt) Unforunately, I cannot recommend the Tiramesu. The flavor was good. But it was more like somewhat dry cake. When you order a Tiramesu, you expect a creaminess to it. It does not have that. But as I said, the flavor was good. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. I would just request that the Chefs and or prep cooks get a second and third opinion on the salting. The salt thing is a common thing that happens with some people that are behind the line a lot . And I'm certain that with vegetarian food, it's even more complicated to get the balance So it's not he end of the world. Just be aware and maybe try to tweak that aspect. Other than that, I cannot wait to return and sample more. read more

Loved the house made tortilla. cauliflower was wet with and drizzled with ranch. Not something I like so I removed what I couldn't. Cauliflower was undercooked for my preference and I didn't care for the tango was of the sauce. He enjoyed it though the heat/spice caught up with him so he couldn't finish as much as he wanted. We had a wonderful meal at Bloom. We were a large group and ordered most of the menu and everything was delicious - standouts were the oyster mushrooms, BBQ flatbread pizza and the cheese plate with focaccia we couldn't believe was gluten-free. What made our experience even better was our waitress, Mischa. She provided impeccable service, was so lovely and responsive and brought great energy to our evening. I went here during restaurant week with a group or 10 and it was a bit of a mess, I'd say. We mostly all did the tasting menu. I'd say the food was ok. The service was also just ok. They seemed ill-prepared to do the whole tasting menu thing for groups. For the price, I wasn't impressed by either food nor service. Honestly, the places that do fake meats tend to not impress me. I am a vegetarian and I do like some places, but none of the items we had were great. Pot pie was something none of us finished on the table. The Baja taco and asada taco were ok. I liked one with mushrooms a LOT more than the other one. Desserts were inedible. I think the added gluten free and vegan aspects of this place are a challenge as well. Maybe I'm just not ready to go those extra 2 steps. Oh, and the old fashioned was so sweet, I didn't finish that either. I ordered a diet coke and I never got it. I asked for a new set of silverware and never got it. My wife got served the gnocchi without mushrooms, when it was someone else at the table that had ordered the gnocchi without mushrooms, which she wanted it as-is - with mushrooms. I could go on... Just a couple of days prior I had gone to a pre fix tasting menu place and everything was so well orchestrated and served that my experience here felt like it was training school day. I understand that it was restaurant week and Friday night is a busy night. I'll up the review by one star to accommodate that and give them that benefit. read more

Let me start off by saying I freaking love meat. But one glance at the inventive menu and I was very interested, so my friends and I checked it out. I can't wait to come back. And this has really had me rethink how I want to eat meals and explore more vegan options in my life! Between the three of us, we got the cheese board, beet dumplings, ceviche, aguacate, tamal coloradito, cashew di pepe, 1/2 shroom & chorizo flatbread, 1/2 heirloom tomato flatbread, and the coffee break. Visually, everything is just gorgeous and so inviting. Standouts for me was the beet dumplings, aguacate, and cashew di pepe. The beet dumplings are a play on textures: the crunch of the thinly sliced beet with the creaminess of the tahini sunflower spinach, and the light foam of the garlic. I wish they had an option to eat 20 of those or more because they're THAT good. Aguacate was just so simply healthful and delicious of a snack. The cashew di pepe was served cold (to my surprise) and was made of kelp noodle which was crunchier and full of nutrients. Truthfully, the cheese board was very eh to me. Ceviche was fine. Tamal and coffee break were too dense for my liking -- although our vegan friend enjoyed them. Flatbreads were filling to round out the meal and really solid. I definitely prefer the shroom and chorizo of the two and would 100% do that again. The heirloom tomato flatbread was visually stunning, but could have perhaps used more acidity. In any case, it definitely was a meal to remember and I would love to come back! My digestive system was also VERY happy and we all felt 10 pounds lighter the next day and like we could take on the world. A lot of thought, creativity, and innovation was put into this menu and I will recommend it to everyone in the city. PS: It's BYOB but luckily there was an amazing wine shop just across the street with a great somm to help you pick some up! read more

i heard a lot about this place and i had checked out the menu a few times previously just out of interest but i was in the area and wanted to check out a new spot so i decided to stop in! immediately the decor is so cute and super welcoming- all the greens and plant life make it a very bright and cheery place that you'd want to eat at. the bathrooms are gender neutral and very clean! i will say that it's on the louder side, so if that is a problem it would definitely be something to keep in mind. i ended up trying both the brussels and kale caesar and the pancakes which came with preserves, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and syrup. the brussels & kale caesar was amazing! it's not just a typical caesar salad you could order anywhere. first of all, it's raw vegan, and second of all, the flavors are intricate and blend well together. the dish itself is very well composed, and i thoroughly enjoyed it after not eating caesar salad for a long time when it used to be my favorite! the pancakes were also delicious; super fluffy and thick. my favorite topping was for sure the berry and orange preserves. the orange peel really elevates the dish! overall, i came into this experience expecting some pretty good dishes after hearing all the high praise about bloom pbk, and i was definitely impressed! i was only stopping by to try a few things for lunch, but i will now be keeping this place in mind to return to and try some more food! Bloom is outstanding. 8pm Saturday reservation - loud, busy and fun inside. Every dish was interesting and outstanding - special mention to the flatbread, buffalo cauliflower and chocolate coffee dessert. Agree with the sentiment of some of the other reviews here - yes, Bloom is a great vegan establishment, but that's a footnote. Bloom is a great restaurant, period. read more

Positive: Our waitress was a sweetheart. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. Negative: The food was terrible. We had several items on the menu and the only item we like was the lasagna which actually tasted like cornbread dressing. I was disappointed with the cauliflower bites. I visited Chicago and came across this amazing plant-based eatery! I was completely impressed with the food, atmosphere and the friendly staff and owner. The owner was very approachable and checked on guest throughout the night. I had the Risotto, Camote Cheesecake, Baja & Asada tacos. My son tells me the food is excellent there, the place is small but worth waiting. Cassidy, was very friendly, personable and made purchasing very easy. The gift card was delivered on time. I unfortunately had the kimchi salad when I was here. The cucumbers we're definitely rancid. They have an item on their menu called "Chinese eggplant" nothing about this eggplant is Chinese. It's very clear that the chef/owner of this restaurant does not understand what cultural appropriation is. One of the managers came by, his name was Rodney; he was absolutely no help. It's clear he's never worked in the service industry before being as he pronounced several of the wines on their menu wrong. Including telling me a Pinot noir was a white wine. It's clear this restaurant will not pass the test of time. read more

As creators of Amaru, we have always had the core belief of being as good to oneself (and the earth) as possible, but as we grow, we have always wanted to do more. With this desire, we decided to open Bloom Plant Based kitchen.

Meet the Business Owner: Rodolfo C.

As a young boy, Chef Rodolfo Cuadros would slip on an apron and pull up a stool to help his mother and aunts in the kitchen. Little did anyone know that time spent in his boyhood kitchen in Cali, Colombia would inspire Rodolfo to become the accomplished chef and restaurant owner. Chef Cuadros holds a Culinary Arts degree from Johnson and Wales University. He has had the privilege of working with and learning from Chefs Douglas Rodriguez, Rick Gonzalez, David Burke and Richard Sandoval in London, Philadelphia, New York, and Miami. His travels through South America, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean have inspired and influenced his culinary style. It is that passion, experience and attention to detail that he brings to his restaurants, Amaru and Bloom, located in Wicker Park, Chicago.

Shit, shoes, pants, and mask. Not super fancy, but not a Vienna Beef joint, either. Really nice atmosphere. If you showed up in cut-offs, I don't think they'd kick you out, but you won't look as pretty as the folks around you.

Service Issues:The service was inattentive throughout the meal, and concerns were not adequately addressed when brought to the staff's attention. Basic items such as water, napkins, and straws took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive, with water alone taking more than 10-15 minutes. Food Quality Issues:The food and cleanliness were equally disappointing. I requested extra crispy bacon in my omelet, but the bacon was undercooked and appeared raw. Both coffee cups also arrived dirty, with dried coffee residue inside, raising concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail. Closing Takeaway:Adding to the frustration, gratuity was automatically included despite the poor service. I rarely leave reviews, but I hope management uses this feedback to improve service standards, food quality, and overall guest experience. But I will never visit again!! Seating is pretty limited, but it looked like most folks were picking up pastries to go, but either way you order at the front one party at a time. Truffle Croissant (5/5): A must get, super intense black truffle against a perfectly flaky and chewy buttery croissant. The large bits of pearl sugar add pops of sweetness that I loved. Mango Tart (4.75/5): Mango really shines through with melt in your mouth texture and fruity sweetness. Coconut pasty cream adds almost a nutty flavor and luscious mouthfeel to contrast against the lightly crunchy cookie crust. Prosciutto Croissant (4.5/5): Pastry again impeccable with sharp saltiness from the prosciutto and cheese. Still absolutely delicious, but hard to recommend with how good the other items were. Longanisa Breakfast Sandwich (5/5): Another life changing bite. Hash brown add on is unbelievably crunchy against the egg bite that is pillowy soft and fluffy roll. Longanisa is salty and sweet, just the best way to start your morning. Lumpia (3.75/5): Comes out piping hot and the meat still stays juicy and bouncy. Good, not crazy. Filipino Breakfast with Longanisa and Tocino (4/5): Garlic rice is fluffy, but heavy on the garlic exactly like I love it. Sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked and the two meats were actually the weakest components, a bit chewier than expected. Chicken Adobo (4.25/5): Chicken has almost a nice char on the outside and doused in a tangy sauce with crispy garlic bits. Tender and juicy, personally preferred this over the longanisa and tocino. Sweet Corn Hojicha (2/5): Only real whiff that we tried. While you could really taste the corn, unfortunately ended up being wayyyy too sweet and I couldn't have more than a sip or two.

Which makes sense given the sheer volume of people they serve, so you'll have to try and snag one of the few seats along the edges. Once we finally ordered, the service was incredibly fast. The sandwich came out in less than 5 minutes! It was definitely a good, tasty sandwich, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. Ultimately, while I enjoyed the food and the beautiful space inside, I probably wouldn't wait 45 minutes in the blazing sun to get it again.

The crust was thin and crispy, with a large air cavity, making it very soft and fluffy. The salted egg yolk has just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness, and wasn't too cloying. Garlic Cheese Brioche Bun蒜香奶酪麵包: Perhaps its more Taiwanese name is "八蒜包" (Eight Garlic Bun). Its appearance and taste were very similar to those I've had at Taiwanese bakeries in mainland China. The cheese and garlic flavors were very strong, but the bread itself was slightly coarse. Hojicha Latte: The whole milk was very milky, but the hojicha flavor felt a little weak. However, it's already great to find a tea latte that's not very sweet.

This place has a taste that is unique. Though the portions may be small, the flavor is vibrant. They have a variety of dishes and my group and I shared many different items. My favorites were particularly the Cauliflower appetizer (the best vegan style buffalo cauliflower I've had so far), the Eggplant main course, & the Avocado/Key Lime ice cream (phenomenal). All the food was yummy- like the Papaya salad and the Flan (made with coconut). The Flatbread was interesting, almost like a pizza. You can't go wrong with ordering probably any item on the menu- but I want to point out the good quality of the food and how they combine the ingredients. I could taste the difference in the type of food they were using. They cater to so many types of diets- gluten free, raw, almost nut free within the plant based menu. What topped off our experience was the Incredible SERVICE. The entire team was awesome ESPECIALLY OUR SERVER ALEX T. He explained everything clearly, went out of his way (above & beyond) to make sure all of our group's needs were met, made sure we were taken care of throughout (very sweet & kind too), and even gave a birthday surprise. I hope management/corp at Bloom can recognize Alex T. for his hospitality & acknowledge his efforts in some way. I also would like to recognize Manager Josh - who also would check in with customers throughout the restaurant and engage with everyone- I do not come across that often! Receptionist Jordan (I believe) also was kind enough to call us back to let us know a reservation was available. Initially when we called to book they were full but once a cancellation had occurred she actually called us back to let us know a space was available. I hope management at Bloom can recognize everyone for their great attitude and service. It makes customers want to return even more. Overall, simply great place to check out. The chef's menu, the ambience, the service (it may have a bougie vibe, but not bougie service in our experience- really nice), and of course the food. Worth checking out. I would give this place a 3.5. I had high expectations and some dishes lived up to the hype and others fell flat. The service was also a bit of a mess. We were given a tart we didn't order, and then were charged for it. Our server also forgot our actual order and had to come back and ask our orders again. This happened again after we ordered dessert our server came back and asked if we'd like dessert before remembering that we already ordered. In terms of food we started with the cheese plate which was really good. We also were given the beet tart which was also good but difficult to eat. For our mains I got the yuca gnocchi which was delicious and my friend got the saffron risotto which was decent but not satisfying. For dessert we got the cheesecake and it was good but not something I would order again. I would be open to going to this restaurant again if someone asked me, but I wouldn't be the one to choose to come back read more

Another vegetarian-only restaurant with a large menu to pick from. Thanks, yelp, for bringing me here! Bloom Plant Based Kitchen is a relaxed yet elegant eatery. It includes some rather pricey items, but it also has some fantastic specials. The meal tastes and appears to be very fresh. Service was outstanding, the place was clean, the atmosphere was nice! I was blown away by the variety of cuisines this business has to offer. Everything on the menu appeared to be unique. If you're a vegan or vegetarian, you should come here to sample the Ayurvedic cuisine; I'm confident you'll feel amazing afterward. We're very satisfied! We will undoubtedly return! Our food was great! Both the paneer board and the carrot fritters were mehre... not bad but I wouldn't order them again. They were both friendly. The ambiance is nice, however I was disappointed by some of their plastic plants... strange for a restaurant that is all about plants and is called Bloom. Our server was prompt, but quite cold and didn't want to get to know us or interact. I will be going back to try other plates! Our favorite was the Baja Taco...a must order! read more

Bloom Plant-Based Kitchen in Chicago is the spot for plant based options. Their Kale Caesar salad was a flavor bomb - crispy kale, creamy dressing, and tasty toppings. I'm not a vegetarian, but I am gluten-free, and Bloom exceeded my expectations. The food is absolutely amazing, flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or catching up with friends. My only heads-up is that parking can be a bit tricky, so plan ahead.
