    Chicken sandwich
    Rachel B.

This was a family-friendly place to meet for brunch. The restaurant was busy but the service was pretty quick. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was really great! The fries were fine, maybe not quite hot enough. We had a really good time. This is a solid brunch spot.

Great service! We loved our waitress Liberty! I got the burger and it was delicious. The fries were pretty standard (aka good but not great). My friend loved the chicken pesto sandwich and felt similarly about the fries. Portion sizes are good too! They've got plentiful indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar inside.

Portside has always been one of my favorite spots in Bristol. The location is perfect, and I love that they offer everything, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. I recently went for dinner with friends on a Friday night. We had a reservation, so there was no wait, and we were seated promptly in the back room. It was a bit loud back there, but service was quick, which we appreciated. I ordered one of my go-to dishes: the Ahi Tuna over the Asian Bowl. It never disappoints. The tuna is perfectly cooked, the crispy wonton chips add the right crunch, and the mountain of fresh chopped slaw pulls it all together. It's flavorful, fresh, and satisfying every time. Our waitress was good, maybe not the best I've had at Portside, but she was attentive enough, and everything came out as ordered. Overall, another great experience at a local favorite. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Comfortable warm and friendly dinning experience. Parking is limited. Food is very good. Drinks great. Nice fireplace.

We sat at the bar and had the clam cakes, which were fantastic! My boyfriend had the Portside burger, and I had the spicy shrimp sandwich. Both were fantastic! However, the fries are not so great. The service was excellent. All the young people handling the bar were attentive polite and spot on. We will be coming back!

Avocado toast with a black bean burger. Made to order, and the chef even said it looked good.

This has become my new favorite place by the water. This location is very close to Cole State Park, and has shopping in the area as well as walking path. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is great. Sunday brunch is always nice with the bottomless mimosas until 1 PM.

Good food, wonderful location, easy parking across the street.we were a party of three. We shared a Thai veggie wrap, then we ordered a clam chowder, black bean burger, and the crunchy sesame Asian salad with salmon. We all enjoyed the food.

"One of the best Long Island iced teas I've had in years." "French onion was the most flavorful I've ever had." "Lobster tostada was light and refreshing, very flavorful with a hint of lime." "Excellent combo of flavors on the cheese board between the fruits, crackers, cheeses, and jam." We'd recommend the calamari, the burrata salad, lobster tostada, and the cheese plate. Beef tips and fish and chips were both great but nothing special compared to the rest of the menu. We'd love to go back and try the more unique items! Our waitress was pleasant, prompt, and friendly. Our only complaint was that it was little warm in the restaurant despite the air conditioning but it's been unusually hot and humid lately.

Hearty & savory Mini Chorizo Clam Cakes

Came to lunch for the RI Food Fight Best Sandwich Showdown. The bar looked comfortable, so we settled there. There is a nice outside seating area that looks across the street to the harbor in warmer weather. The friendly bartender greeted us promptly & was knowledgeable about the extensive drink lists & food menu. A Portside Sour, made for the restaurant by Westerly based Grey Sail, was fruity & tart. The cocktail list features several fun Iced Coffee drinks, featuring Nitro Cold Brew on tap. While the Biscotti Iced was less boozy & sweet than expected, it still made a tasty accompaniment to the meal. Food began with a Rhode Island standard - Clam Cakes & Chowder. The large bowl of creamy chowder was excellent. The cakes have a different twist here as Mini Chorizo Clams Cake. Much more moist than typical cakes, these were loaded with clams & ground sausage. Very good if a bit heavy. This combination would make a good, filling meal in themselves. The restaurant's entry in the sandwich competition was their Fried Chicken Banh Mi featurung well seasoned, juicy chicken cutlets with pickled carrots & jalapeños. The chiles were super spicy but easily removed by those sensitive. Served with a choice of fries or greens, it was a tasty lunch. Those dressed greens were an excellent addition to the sandwich itself, too. While a bit pricey for everyday lunch, we will certainly return to enjoy drinks at the bar or a meal outside in warm weather.

Park across the street with the water view from the restaurant.

What a really nice place. Tried the Portside Tavern for lunch today with my dad and friend. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I had the West Coast Chicken Bowl, my dad had the Fish Ruben and our friend had the Cajun Mahi Mahi Tacos. Mine was so flavorful and the portion was generous. I took more than half home for tomorrow. My dad said lunch was the best sandwich he had in a long time and also took half home. It came with the option of a side salad or fries. He was happy to have the fresh salad. My friend raved about the tacos and was surprised that restaurant had extensive gluten free options that she needs. It was definitely a great choice and we all said we will definitely be going again. I highly recommended this restaurant.

One day we were undecided where to go... the typical "where do you want to go? " "I dunno, where do you wanna go?" infinite loop. We were driving on Wood street and she asked me if I wanted to try B&B. My gut instinct told me NO, IT'S VEGETARIAN FOOD. VEGETARIAN FOOD IS THE DEVIL!, but somehow I mustered up the strength to deny these thoughts and agreed to try it. I love a good restaurant that waits on you, so the idea of walking to a counter to get my food didn't make me excited. I looked over the menu and saw they had faux chicken sandwiches. They use seitan which I always wanted to try since it's insanely high in protein. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. They also sell beer too which was cool. I got a Clownshoes IPA that I sipped until they brought the food to the table. The portion size of the sandwich is monstrous! I could tell by the sauce drizzle that I was in for something special. The colors from the cabbage slaw in the sandwich provided a solid presentation. As I bit into the sandwich, it had the chew of tender fried chicken and the seitan had some wicked flavor. I'm salivating just talking about it. The sauce had a nice sweet tangy heat which really set it off nice. We ordered fries which were nicely salted and served up with a little cup of aioli. Very good. Honestly, I never thought vegetarian food could taste this good and hopefully I don't regret posting this review and the place blows up and have to wait in line for hours next time. Lol! Thanks Basil and Bunny!

Our server Sonny cheerfully greeted us, made food and drink recommendations, listened and catered to our allergies, and took our orders quickly and accurately. She went above and beyond to make sure my shellfish allergy could be accommodated by speaking with the kitchen staff and calling the owner. I was happy to hear that the smash burger and French fries were safe for my to eat, and they did not disappoint!!! I ordered a painkiller that was insanely reminiscent of the painkillers at The Soggy Dollar in the BVI. Highly recommend it! This place has many cool historical features that contribute to its charm. The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. My guess is they were drunk, but it was a Wednesday night around 6:00, so I wouldn't have expected that. They were so loud that I was yelling to my friend who was within arm's length. Totally changed the vibe and enjoyment for me.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

Their menu is not too long, but it does have a little bit of everything and the prices are good. As an appetizer, we ordered the bang bang shrimp (8 Panko fried shrimp tossed in a sweet & spicy sauce). They were very crispy, big, and a little creamy but more sweet than spicy. I was torn between the brie and bacon burger on their regular menu and the smashburger on their special menu. Ultimately I chose the smashburger because I could always come back for the brie and bacon. As crazy as it sounds, I wanted to be a little healthy so I asked for a greek salad instead of fries. After about 20 minutes, the entrees came out. I was a little disappointed that the cheese on the burger wasnt melted, but in the end, it didn't make too much of a difference since it was delicious. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh, the fried banana peppers and bacon were crispy, and the meat was tender and flavorful. I think there were so many opposing flavors but they all came together beautifully - salty, acidic, creamy, cheesy. The buns could've been toasted a little more. The greek salad was also fantastic. It tasted very fresh and had all the toppings I expected with a good amount of salad dressing. I appreciated that they added a lot of feta. The menu had some great choices but no prices. Not a big deal, as they are new and will probably be adding them eventually. I ordered the El Caprichoso Salad with grilled chicken breast and 3 beef empanadas. They said it would be about 20 minutes. It did take about 35 minutes, so I'm the future, I will order ahead of time. Everything is made from scratch and cooked to order so the extended time is understandable. The El Caprichoso salad was very good but...it came with yellow rice and not brown and there was no avocado. I didn't open it until I got to my parents house so I did not go back. I would definitely order it again but ensure that I check it before leaving. The beef empanadas were hand made with massa. They were so different than the empanadas that I have had in the past but I absolutely loved them. Before cashing out, they let me know they make desserts. Flan, Tres Leches, etc. I would definitely go back and maybe sit and eat there. There are only a few tables so I assume that they will get more once things start to get busier. Very fresh food, very good service. I'd recommend checking this place out if the menu interests you!
