They've caught errors on my end quickly and without having to ask, which makes me feel much better about shipping out expensive product here rather than the post office. This is a beautiful store. Wonderful staff. My wife was in need of a notary and Dexter was very helpful. I went by the PostalAnnex+ this afternoon to get a passport photo. I know that my needs were simple, but the process could not have gone any better. I walked in and let the clerk know that I needed a passport photo. They took my photo and gave me 2 passport photos within a few minutes. I was in and out of the store within 5 minutes. This Postal Annex is located in the Stater Brothers shopping strip. Always the same nice couple people working. I use this place instead of driving down El Toro to the busy post office. I had a laptop computer to send to my sister via FedEx. I went to this place after checking 2-day service freight charge on FedEx.com ($54 and cents.) A man in his 50's or 60's named Jim handled my transaction. He asked me if I wanted Direct Signature for $4.50. I asked him what Direct Signature meant. He said only the addressee could sign. I agreed to use that extra service. He told me the charge would be $69. I asked if he put a surcharge on top of what FedEx would charge. He did not answer me directly. Instead, he immediately said he gave me a discount of $6. I thought it was still higher than FedEx's fee, but I didn't want the hassle of taking my package to another location. So I sent my laptop at this location. At the receiving end, FedEx allowed my sister's apartment manager sign for the package. My sister waited past the delivery deadline of 7pm and had to cancel her dinner date. She finally got the package at 10pm. My problem with the delivery is that I paid for Direct Signature so my sister could received the package and had time to go to dinner. The cancellation of dinner caused great inconvenience to her. I sent email to FedEx to complain about the delay. They emailed back apologizing for the delay and said they would refund $34.25 When I went to this Postal Annex location to ask for the refund in my credit card, Jim took my information and went inside talking to FedEx. He came out almost an hour later and told me FedEx did not credit his account so he could not give me the refund. He also denied he had said that Direct Signature meant only addressee could sign. He then said anyone at the address could sign. Why do they use the word "Direct" if anyone at the address can sign. Anyway, the apartment manager is not "anyone at the address". He doesn't live in my sister's apartment. Jim then told me to call back in 5 days. I went home and emailed Fedex asking why they had not refunded $34.25 to me as promised. They never reply. I am so fed up with FedEx and this location I decided it's not worth my time anymore. I didn't call back and surely never go back there. In the future I will use UPS or USPS from another location. Another thing: The receipts from this location faded very fast. After 2 weeks, it was half faded. I don't know what kind of ink they used. If you want to keep their receipts as evidence for any dispute, you'd better make a copy quick before they fade. read more

It was signed for by Jim in the afternoon, 2 hours later when I went to pick it up I was told that not only was it not there, they had no record of it ever existing but that there was also no one named Jim working there. After having such wonderful, prompt, fast, knowledgeable and what I find to be professional service (not my first visit) at this Postal Annex, my sister said I should go on Yelp and comment. And so here I am, my first review. First, I read all the other reviews and pondered them. Regarding the service fee: do I want to stand in a long and stressful line at the Post Office and get serviced by a robot with no personality? Herded and pushed about as if I'm a cow going to slaughter? So I gladly elect to pay a minimal service fee where I'm in and out and it's a pleasure to be. Do you ask the grocer, the baker and the candlestick maker how much they charge for the wares they need in order to provide you a service? As to the staff: they are all kind and comical. A breath of fresh air, especially Wanita, she is always upbeat and smiling with a friendly Hello and Good-bye. Notary: To Jennifer N., I have not yet used this service, so I can not comment. I can tell you that particular notary is no longer employed there. Shipping Services and Refunds: Because I am in the people business (and ship a lot), I understand all to well people for the most part only hear what they want and not what is actually being said. Services like Postal Annex can only follow guideline set forth by the carrier and should the carrier have more questions so be it. What's more, from my experience I've learned different countries have totally different and sometime stringent regulations as to incoming packages. Let alone custom fees! Meaning, Brandon W. can not totally blame Postal Annex. Why can't he just be happy he received a phone call for additional information? And to H.V.: Did you ever think it was the carrier and not Postal Annex who did not hold up to their end of the service/bargain? Postal Annex may have provided you the vessel, but it was the carrier being the means who blew it! A refund, ok but should Postal Annex be slammed for the wrong of the carrier? After all Postal Annex paid your bill and they too should be refunded Yes, I am a fan of this Postal Annex. read more

Been going to this place for years. Most of the people that work there are OK. But Wuanita is by far the best, she is always friendly and inviting. She remembers people and makes things so easy and pleasant. If it wasn't for her I honestly would never go back, since I know of a more affordable place.
