Alright first things first they NEED to make a Postino's in San Diego because I would probably be there everyday! Okay I started this review and never finished it but I just saw a sign for Postino opening in San Diego in Little Italy, I am SO excited! Anyways I finally got to check out this spot in Houston while I was visiting and it was so good. I love the variety of build your own boards that you can get, my favorites were the Sweet N' Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese along with the Brie, Apple & Fig Spread. They have a large variety of wine which I love since I am usually always a wine drinker but they had some beers on tap as well. We sat inside at this location which has a darker ambiance for the evening but still very trendy. They had a large outdoor patio as well that looked like a great spot to come with friends. The service was actually pretty quick since we came on the earlier side but as the night got later the place definitely got busier. I can not wait for the San Diego locations to open up! read more

I've been here multiple times and I always enjoy this place every time. The people are very friendly and it's a clean place. We ordered various things, my favorite to get is the bruschetta board since I like variety. I would definitely not get the pub board again, i guess it's be perfect if you're drinking IPAs but it's a no go with my Riesling. Chefs charcuterie is also my go to. However, I think the serving got smaller than usual. Overall, I think this is a great place to just chill and catch up with friends. This place is good!! I had been wanting to come try it out just for the bruschetta boards!! These look amazing, and let me tell you- it was as good as it looked!!! For the board you can choose 4 different spreads. We got the the warm artichoke spread (my fave!!), smoked salmon and pesto, almond hummus & chopped tomato, and then the fresh mozzarella, tomato & basil. Man!! All of these were soooo good. They cut each piece into 4's. So it's great to share, or you can eat it all on your own. My friends got the select two option where you can get a half panini and half soup or salad. They loved their food and said the soup of the day (tomato basil) was super delicious. We also ordered the Umbria egg toast. This was okay- would probably not get this the next time I go. For dessert we all shared the cast iron sticky bread. It was worth it!!! It was basically monkey bread I used to eat as a child. Very good, and perfect for a group to share. Yes I'm the last of the Houstonian population to come to Postinos. They have a couple of locations here and also located in Arizona and Colorado. Parking can be tricky it seems, but I got lucky as someone was just pulling out. Maybe everyone knows something I don't and there is more parking somewhere? Parking is free by the way. Came here on a Saturday evening at prime time and waited only about 7 minutes before being seated. Sweet! We were seated outside on a hot summer night, but it really didn't seem so hot. They have huge fans all over the patio. It actually felt quite nice. I noticed that you customers have communal servers so we put in orders with different servers. It seems like everyone was ordering the bruschetta. They have several bruschetta options and they all look delish!! We had the the butchers block and I also had the chicken and mozzarella panini with a side salad. I can't say one bad thing about either! I'm sold and coming back! We had to flag down servers often, but in the end, everyone was nice, the food was delish and the crowd was great for people watching! Loved it! read more

I came to Postino's for a glass of wine and a snack in between my Christmas shopping. I was greeted and had a lovely experience by the bartender Nat. Nat reviewed the wine list and offered tastings until I found the perfect Cabernet Sauvignon Centenario. Nat was able to anticipate my needs throughout my dining experience. I ordered the meatballs and goat cheese along with a cup of the tomato basil soup. The meatballs were so savory! Comforting snack on a chilly day. I topped off the afternoon with the crème brûlée. Came here around 1pm on Sunday & it was packed outside. Parking is always a nightmare to be honest. I drove around for about 8-10 mins looking for a spot, lol. When we got inside, we were able to snag a table and that was great. Our waiter was super kind & helpful. It's quiet and not aloud at all, the vibe is very chill. Food was great. Ordered off their brunch menu & always get the crispy cauliflower. The fingerlings (potatoes) are okay, nothing special. Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday one day while we walked the Heights bike trail. Amazingly we were able to be seated right away inside (with our 2yo and infant twins). We sat in a back corner, and my husband and I both got sandwiches (I got the 1/2 and 1/2 with Brussel sprout salad) and my son got a kids meal of chicken, fruit and chips ( not on main menu but they have a kids menu if you ask). I didn't feel like we waited that long for our food, but the ?manager/owner came by and apologized for the wait on my 2yo meal (if you have kids you know the goal is to feed them as quickly as possible) and actually comped some of our meal, which was super nice of him. Aside from that, their Bloody Mary was really good, and on Sunday they have $6 pitchers which is a steal. We are moving to neighborhood soon, so excited to come back! read more

It all boils down to service, well and food. An Italian restaurant should stick to Italian, am I right? PSA: this restaurant does not assign your table or section a server. It is whomever is available or walking by is obliged to help you. Sadly, this leaves you flagging down someone every five minutes...I went here on a Monday (late) morning around 11:30...not an incredibly busy time for them, as I saw staff gather and walk around to light citronella candles to keep the mosquitos away and possibly flys as well. Service was super slow, and not friendly at all. The most uninterested staff and least willing to help or see if I needed anything. Lots of waiting around to place an order... I highly recommend the prosciutto carpaccio appetizer. Their "you pick two" was a nice addition and loved their salad... I don't recommend you get the tuna appetizer, it did not seem fresh nor did it really hit the mark in terms of flavor...I'd rather leave it to a sushi restaurant to fill your craving for tuna. They have a great outdoor patio and an extensive wine menu but because of lack of service, I probably won't be returning. They did get busier as the day went on and there was only one server I recall that was hustling and making sure we were taken care of, and this is only after we moved inside because it was too hot! read more

I came here with my friends for a girls night after work and this was definitely the perfect place for us! We're all into trying something new and Postino had everything that was well within our comfort zone but also something new to try when it came to food and wine! When we came in we were greeted by a host and seated immediately in a half moon booth and given a beer/wine menu. Their food menu was available online with a code we could scan with our phones. Between the 3 of us, we ordered 1 butchers board and a bruschetta board which we picked 4 different variations: The Prosciutto De Parma, fit and mascarpone, smoked salmon and pesto, sweet n' spicy pepper jam and goat cheese and burrata, bacon, arugula and tomato. We also each had about 4 half glasses of wine which were perfect and after 2 hours we were really full. The ambiance is so nice and intimate, perfect for tonight's girls night. Our waitress Claire was also great with taking care of us and the gentlemen who bused food and tables were always stopping by to refill our waters or pick up empty plates and wine bottles. For dessert we ordered a creme brulee to share and that was the perfect way to end the night! I would definitely plan to come back for another girls night! There were also couples out and the place has a patio with large chairs, great for large groups of 6+! They have small booths for couples, 3-6 and then the patio area with larger booths. Food was great, service was perfect. The bill was mildly high, about $58/per person for us to split the bill in 3. We realized we should have just purchased 2 bottles of wine to share amongst us 3 and it would have been cheaper but we all wanted to try different wines that they had. We drove 3 hours to eat here because it's that good!! Let me backtrack a bit: I first discovered Postinos when living in Phoenix and frequently went to enjoy the bottle and board deal on Monday nights. After moving away, I was so sad I wouldn't be able to enjoy Postinos on the regular anymore and after relocating to Texas, I found there were a few locations... just hours away. We decided to go to Houston from San Antonio for our anniversary trip and of course had to make a stop at Postinos. Got there around 4pm and the patio was quite full but we were able to snag one of the last tables and were seated immediately. We got a pitcher of beer for $5 and glass of wine for $5 and ended up just buying a whole bottle of wine for $20 to bring back to the hotel with us. It's great that they will cork your bottle of wine for you if you don't finish. For the bruschetta we got Brie, apple, and fig spread, fresh mozz, tomato and basil, warm artichoke spread, and burrata, bacon, arugula and tomato. We have had each of these before (me just day dreaming about them since I had them a year ago) except for the warm artichoke spread. The burrata bacon is my fav, each component compliments each other very nicely and it is not overly salty from the bacon or cheese. The Brie and apple is my boyfriend's favorite one and it is like a dessert as it is sweet so we save it for the last bite. We also got a snacky plate, the carpaccio. I don't think I have ever had carpaccio before but it was good, ended up just mostly eating the thin pieces of meat on its own or just with a small bite of the focaccia as the bruschetta had a lot of bread already. I often find myself just ordering the same bruschetta board so it was a good change to order something different. Overall, I LOVE Postinos and I am so happy there are locations in Houston. I would love to see them expand into the Austin/San Antonio area but when we head back to Houston, I'm sure Postinos is a stop we will have to make. I would recommend stopping by on Monday and Tuesday nights for their bottle and board deal but come early as it gets busy! read more

Really enjoyed lunch at Postino today. Hostess was friendly and helpful when our group arrived. Everyone wearing masks and gloves and tables well spaced out. It was my first time here so our server explained the Boards and menu. We tried the meatball appetizer and everyone at the table loved it. I got the half panini and soup - fantastic. Soup of the day was Chicken Florentine and it was packed with flavor and lots of chicken - perfect doe this chilly day. The roasted turkey panini on ciabatta was hearty and very good. And, had a glass of the Viso wine recommended by our server. It paired well and was fun to try something different. Bread boards, salads, sparkling wine, and everything hipster and millennial can be found here. Came by for a weekday lunch and grabbed a cauliflower app, skewers, and a mixed bread board. As pretentious as the bread board is, it was actually decent depending on what combinations of toppings you choose. The skewers were bland and the roasted cauliflower is solid. We got a chicken and mozzarella panini and the fig/whatever was in there panini. Both are pretty tasty. Just writing an update for Postino at Brunch... Personally, I love Postino, and I was curious about their brunch hours/menu because... there is no way they could be good at everything, right? And again... they impressed me. We decided to go the morning wine (glass of Cava + a side of grapefruit juice) and bread-forward brunch item, the Croque Madame (I suppose a play on their bruschettas which they do so well), and it was AWESOME! Some of our friends also ordered the Nine Iron Panini, and they also said it was fantastic. Also, if you are part of their rewards club ('the wine cult')... I would recommend that you download their app. There was some confusion about how register our rewards, and we ultimately found out that downloading the app was the way to go. :) read more
