Favorite place to get hot pot because of their sauce options! I love their sesame sauce-- no other place has really caught on and started offering it, but its awesome. We came as a table of four on a Sunday night, and it only took around 15 minutes to get us seated. I order the same thing as normal- House Special pot sub fermented tofu with regular tofu and add quail eggs. The quail eggs being $2+ is criminal, but I can't have hot pot without the extra eggs. The food tasted great! Spicy is definitely the move for me, especially because I can always ask for more broth if it's too much. The reason why this isn't a perfect five is because of the service. It took us at least five minutes to even make eye contact with a server, but we felt like we were just straight up being ignored. It took us fifteen minutes to grab the attention of the server so we could pay, despite making eye contact numerous times. It happened multiple times through the night, where it took at least a minimum of five minutes to get their attention just for some extra napkins. First time here because our friend came here and recommend it. It's a Friday night, we waited for 40 minutes. Not bad. We ordered our food via their QR code. Food came out fairly fast. It was piping hot and delicious. I have the Lamb Pot and my daughter has the Popcorn Chicken Pot. My daughter loves the popcorn chicken, very flavorful. My lamb was alright. The fatty part was delicious but the lean part is hard and too chewy. It'll be nicer if it's the thinly sliced cut. (I know it has stated it's bone in lamb.) Sukiyaki pot is my favorite, comes with udon noodles yum! I've been here several times and my only complaint is one time they accidentally put too much spice in my soup and didn't believe me. Me and my boyfriend both got the same soup with mild spice, mine was red and his was normal colored. When I asked them about it they told me it was the same. Pot on Fire operates in a similar way as other hot pot restaurants such as Boiling Point and Tasty Pot, but unfortunately they are not as good. Here's why: 1) The broth didn't have enough depth and complexity. I found myself needing to dip the meats & veggies with the condiment sauces to give it flavor. At BP or TP, the condiments were not necessary, but at PoF, it was. 2) The kitchen ran out of many options that customers would want. For example, by 12:30pm, they had run out of Lamb and cheese foam so it was impossible to order those items from the menu. 3) Overrated spice levels--for someone with a very low spice tolerance, the mild tasted like zero spice. Recommend upping the default spice level by +1. Overall the food is good, but if I had the choice of going to PoF or BP, I think I would still choose BP. read more

It tasted mostly of watered down sweet tomato soup. Not that I'm not into that, but I just wished they added more salt, flavor or something. I also got this mild and it was not really that spicy. Mushroom Pot - This one was definetly on the basic side. If you want something that tastes like home, has a bunch of mushrooms and has an Earthy feel you should choose this one. I was not a fan of this one at all. I loved the contents inside but the soup base itself for me was no bueno. Hot pot dipping sauce - Another hot pot place that rhymes with "Oiling Joint" has amazing dipping sauce and I was stoked to try Pot on Fires dipping sauce to see how it would measure up. Sadly on the dipping scale I don't think it registered for me. I mean it was alright but nothing close to the zing Oiling Joint has if you know what I mean. If you know you know. Overall: I feel like this place lacked flavor overall. Their service was great no doubt, but the flavor in the food was not there for me. I gave 1 star because the food was decent but compared to other hot pot places, this place is not comparable. First off, if you have any allergies, they will not be able switch out soup base ingredients nor make any accommodations. This is my first trying this place because I want to give it a shot. It was very dissatisfied. My boyfriend, who has a peanut allergy, usually at similar hot pot places like this (a well known franchise) are able to substitute our soup based. However, this place will not be able to do so as well all their sauces are made with peanuts. Therefore, his soup base resulted to be plain water. Second, the stuff is not very well trained. Most have no idea what they are talking about especially of their menu items. Additionally, I had a very hard time to get stuff attention, while dinning in, a lady had to get up and go to waiters herself to get help. We always go to this spot for lunch. Today, on Memorial Day (5/26/2025), there was one employee working -- a fat man. I don't want to be disrespectful, but he was quite rude. It's recommended by the massage place to not consume a meal before an massage appointment - hence, my boyfriend and I were starving! I love this place! This is my go to for individual hot pots. I much prefer this place over boiling point as the flavors are stronger and more authentic. We ordered the sukiyaki pot and the curry fish ball pot. Both pots come with a large variety of toppings and you can always add more if needed. The sukiyaki broth is more sweeter while curry is more saltier. Both came with a good amount of meat as well. Since we came around lunch, we were given free black tea. So I really want to like this place. I've tried it twice and I think I'm just such a simple person but then picky at the same time when it comes to meats and hot pots. I like my broth flavorful and simple. I don't like too many different types of meats in the hot pot. I'm a huge boiling point fan because the beef pot is so simple and doesn't have all the exotic meats and veggies. Great authentic Taiwanese hotpot place They have a variety of food to choose from, and the ones we had so far are all pretty good. I got the house special pot (sub with beef) - the fermented tofu was nice and the pot was overall nice and flavorful. As a Taiwanese, I like fermented tofu and intestine (and sometimes duck blood!) in my hotpot, and I'm glad to find a place that can soothe my cravings for them. I'm normally not one to go for hot pot (other than shabu) but Pot on Fire has become the exception! I recently came here for dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night and was surprised with a 20-minute wait time. I wanted to be adventurous and try something new, so I went with their Pumpkin Pot ($16) which came with my choice of either steamed rice or glass noodle.
