We used Presto Logistics for our move from Los Angeles, CA to Charlotte, NC. I chose Presto because of their reviews and they were the only company I contacted who was able to send someone to do in an in home estimate. Our moving date was July 5th and they were prompt with the move and worked quickly. The shipment arrived in the window promised. My bikes, TV and futon bed arrived in perfect condition and they put everything together in Charlotte. There was some bumps and bruises on our dressers and shelving units, but nothing overly significant. I had a side table I really liked and Tiffany lamp shade that had more notable damage which would have pushed the rating down and had me a little upset. However, I spoke with Henry (who managed our move) and he was always quick to respond. Presto paid to have the side table repaired and for a replacement lamp shade. This was much appreciated since I did not purchase any of the supplemental insurance. Henry did not make me jump through any hoops to provide a fair settlement, I just texted him a couple photos of the damage. Overall I would recommend Presto. The movers were courteous and professional and they went beyond what they were required to do to make our move whole when some items were damaged. read more

I had taken the time to fill out all the information on the size of my furniture/belongings to get an accurate quote. Once everything was on the truck they contacted me later to say that it took up more space and would be an up charge. I asked them to take my stuff off the truck and they said "they couldn't find it," holding my stuff ransom. Upon delivery (around 9 pm at night) they brought a giant truck that couldn't fit in the parking lot by my apartment and charged me for a "long haul" and also charge me for an extra flight of stairs for the extra two steps at the entrance of the apartment building. They required all of the upcharge to be in cash, which was an extra $700 from what I was quoted. The customer service with Abe was infuriating and unhelpful. This was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had and I would urge people NOT to use this company. I should have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

This was my third time using Presto. This time things did not go as hoped or as smoothly. The movers on the delivery end were great - very kind, helpful, agreeable and fun to work with. In the past Presto did a fabulous job making sure my precious and expensive furniture and belongings were well cared for and arrived without incident. This last move didn't end as well, but the manager, Henry, got on it and is making things right. After I sent an email explaining the problems that occurred, they were very apologetic and bending over backwards to make things right and compensate me in some way. My faith has been restored in a company that I have recommended to others and repeatedly used. After 2 weeks plus I was being told my mother's belongings, who had just passed away, were on a truck but the computers were down so they couldn't tell me anything. Then a day or 2 maybe even longer, I was told they couldn't reach dispatch. In comes Henry AFTER I made my first review. Who is Henry you say? Great question. Henry proceeds to tell me that after these 2 plus weeks that I'm looking for my belongings on a daily... Waiting on the call that someone is telling me it's on it's way... that it's still in California waiting on a truck coming my way. Mind you I was told at pickup, which was the Thursday the 17th, that a truck was there leaving out that day or the next so in fact my belongings would be to me probably Tuesday or Wednesday. So going back and forth with Henry, which still got me nowhere. All he was worried about was if I took down my 1st review that he would take 120$ off of my remaining balance which was 470$. He TRIED to insult my intelligence. It didn't work. So finally my belongings get here last Friday and guess what? Well, there's a broken chair. Lots of broken fine China and crystal. A chunk of wood missing off of my buffet that was purchased in 1958. I do have the original receipts. Henrys people wrapped the big stuff btw but he asked me to find someone who fixes wood and they would see what they could do to help get it fixed lol. The majority of it made it safely but all that didn't is a straight up loss at 60 cents a pound. That shyt is so laughable but things come back 10 fold. Presto Logistics was a great choice that worked out well for me. They were there on time and called 1hr out to confirm their ETA. They were careful packing and loading boxes. Once loaded the transportation of our furniture was excellent. Minimum issues...damage. They exceeded my expectations for delivery to my new destination. We called several places to get quotes but Presto was the only place that had someone come out. I can't tell you how important getting that done is. Every moving company should do this. Henry came out and did a very good inspection and gave us a quote. He explained in detail how the quote was made and how the process works. It made me feel very secure that the quote was as close to possible as could be for the end cost. Henry was honest and patient and very kind. In the end, we went with Henry and Presto. It may seem like their quotes are higher but that is because they are accurate. Moving companies don't come out and will double their quote once they come. We had to move our dates a couple times because of issues with new house and an unexpected surgery and they worked with us every time. The actual move was also incredible. They really are a family there. The head mover Martin, was so kind and helpful and he knows Henry and they work well together. Nothing is hired out at this company. Martin stayed well after they were done packing to answer questions and go through what I should do when the truck arrives. His team came on time for the move day and worked harder than I have ever seen. The 4 man team were so kind and hard working. They listened to every concern I had and packaged with care all our items. Especially the ones I was very concerned about. The whole process was easy and quick. We were moving to a new state and it was a huge undertaking. My husband and I are so glad we choose Presto. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM they are LIARS! I was contacted by Daniel and he seemed really nice and knowledgeable. When I received my quote Daniel Nevarro decided for double my charge for stairs (orig $75 but he charged $150) I asked why did he double the price and Daniel explained with such contempt in his email that was thinking about his movers (men) and wanted to be fair cause "he" knows that stairs are hard to move stuff. I explained that I was NOT OK with his doubling prices without first informing me, also I'm the customer not his movers who are already being paid to do a job and I am paying for additional stair case. Daniel was disrespectful in his emails and basically called me an imbecile when he explained that I don't have much logic or sense in my argument. Obviously Daniel lost a customer for his lack of integrity. Second review In response to company: proves my point they are liars for several reasons: 1. Daniel never explained anything over the phone about the stairs fee hike up , it was only suppose to be $75 not $150 2. Preslow is more like it. I could of driven back and forth from my destination 3-4 time before these guys arrived. There is a lot and I mean a lot of fine print on the contract. They really disrupt people's lives. 21 day deadline is waaaayyy to long. I mean the country is only so big so c'mon 7-14 days is more realistic if you truly cared for your customers. Waiting weeks for basically your whole life to arrive is ridiculously slow. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Also stop telling customers false expectation time frames. And as far as I know trucks can drive any day of the week not just weekdays so keep that in mind. I will never be using Preslow logistics again I hope your business fails. Your all around horrible. My wife and and I selected Presto as the moving company our 1,100 sq ft. 2 bed / 2 bath apartment., relocating from Los Angeles to Dallas. Overall we were very happy with our experience. A few specifics: Accurate in-home estimate. Henry came to our home to estimate the cost of our move. He was on time, professional and easy to work with throughout. He made us comfortable with the process. His estimate was within 5% of actual. Transparency. Presto did a good job communicating our move's status throughout the process. They notified us before pick up, drop off and provided status updates throughout. While we were assessed some extra fees for the move (e.g. cost for cubic feet overage), we found them to be straight forward. Timeliness. Presto was not only fast, but on-time. They committed to a 4 day delivery window (for an extra fee) and delivered on the first day of the window. Quality. We packed our items ourselves and experienced minimal damage. Very happy about this. They also have a good rating with the Department of Transportation, so it's clear they are a legitimate operation that knows how to do things right. Feedback for Presto and potential customers: Do your best to understand what your move actually requires. Do you require a long carry from the truck to your home? Extra stairs? A box-truck shuttle because you live in a dense neighborhood? Do you want the movers to pack your stuff? Of the 8 moving companies researched, Presto was the only one that offered to send a representative to our home to do a thorough review of household inventory and packing needs. Meeting face to face goes a long way, especially with a cross country move from CA to NC. Goods were delivered within the contractural agreement and communication was clear and precise. Price was fair. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Departure and arrival moving teams on both sides were quick and professional. Slight interior wall damage occurred during setup up but Presto reacted quickly and honored the claim. Interstate move from CA to FL. Tried to do our research and find a reputable company. Even though Presto is not a member of the BBB there were reviews there giving claim information, etc...and they had almost no claims filed. There were some negative reviews but many good reviews. Henry came to our home and did an on site inventory. Broke down the cost, assured me they have their own trucks, that they would crate our motorcycle (for an extra fee) and everything else that needed special attention would be packed by them. Then the truck showed up. Not a Presto truck, and definitely not big enough for our move. I immediately called Henry and said this is not what we discussed. He said it was such a busy time of year that they sometimes need to rent out other trucks and load up, then take to their warehouse where it would be unloaded in the actual semi truck that would be delivering. This made me panic! I would have no control or even see how they handled our belongings. To his credit, he called about 2 hours later and had a semi truck on the way. Great! Then I see how how they are packing, like it was a tetris game...shoving boxes sideways and cramming them in to fill up the gaps. Motorcycle was not crated, driver (who was the only one who spoke english) said they didn't have the materials. Again, I call Henry who seemed surprised. All they could do was remove the crating fee. So, 20k Harley not crated! Nerves are shot. Truck did not leave Ca until 7 days after they picked up our goods and I had to call to get any information. Driver finally sends a text with ETA and they repeatedly tell you what you owe and the acceptable payment method. Truck arrives, driver wants me to sign that I have received my goods in good condition before he even opens the truck door. I said no, he argued, so I called Henry at 6AM on a Sunday morning to tell him I'm not signing this until my belongings are unloaded, he says I don't have to but I literally had to put him on the phone with the driver! Driver was rude and stood out front smoking and playing on his phone while 3 men who were hired by Presto, NOT Presto movers, unloaded. Crushed boxes, broken items, chunk of wood gone on the corner of my dresser, broken bicycle kick stand, broken irreplaceable items that were in crushed boxes. They scraped walls bringing stuff in. Big furniture was unloaded last, trying to get those items in around the boxes. They were supposed to put all my furniture back together, but they lost bolts and couldn't put my dining table together. My Husband had no confidence in their ability to put things together and we just started doing it on our own. Overall, we got our belongings and unbelievably the motorcycles were not damaged. I let Henry know of all the damages, he wanted to know if a local place could repair the damages and he would see what he could do help out. Then it all made sense, this us how they didnt have many claims. They want you to avoid filing a claim. So when I told him after assessing all the damages that I felt a 2k credit would suffice, he then told me to file my claim and I'd only get .60 on the dollar value. Even after I asked to purchase more before I signed the contract. So to all who may be moving, go with a larger more well know and reputable moving company. We paid 17k for this move. We had no choice at the time as we needed to get moved and the big movers were booked up at this busy time if year. These sales teams will tell you everything you want to hear and make you promises. We chose Presto Logistics because they seemed honest and professional. Or move with them was AMAZING. They arrived to load our belongings when they said they would.They packed each item on the truck carefully. They arrived in Tx as scheduled. They carefully unloaded all of our belongings and put them in the house where we wanted them. All of the furniture that was disassembled for transport was reassembled in Tx. Not only did I receive a quote that was well below the actual packaging and shipping costs, I had several items arrive damaged and broken beyond repair and, some items are irreplaceable. For example, how does one break the handlebars on a bicycle and break a 10lb dumbbell in half??!! This showed the movers disregard and lack of care for all of my belongings. I also have items that did not arrive with my delivery and remain missing. When I contacted customer service, they said they would look in the warehouse and to make sure the items were not in any of my unpacked boxes. Basically, they did not take responsibility for any fault of my shipment not arriving in the same condition as when it was packed. When I filed a claim for the damaged and missing items, I was told it would take 6 months before I would receive a settlement. I have moved many times and haven't ever had problems like this. Also, while the claim is being processed, I cannot replace or repair any or the damaged items so I have a pile of damaged items just sitting the in corner taking up space. However, the individual who drove the truck to my house and the 2 individuals who helped him unpack the truck were very professional and showed care for all of my items. I thought the move was very professional. The driver was amazing, but his helper, I suspect was local to Texas. He seemed to lack experience. The driver almost had to do the entire job himself, but the helper finally showed up. I feel that your company prepares for moves, amazingly. Everything was wrapped so well. A couple of boxes had broken dishes. No biggy. Glad they weren't my china. It would have been nice if I knew that the balance aside from the $500 deposit, was due on pickup day. I have moved three times in my life, and never had to pay up front. Also, (I know it's in the fine print on the contract) but it would have been good if someone warned me that if the huge truck couldn't navigate the property, that I would have to pay over $450 so they could switch to a smaller truck. Moving cross country can be a really stressful process, but Henry has been very helpful throughout from start to finish. From pickup to drop off, they took extremely great care of our household items and everything arrived in one piece. They disassembled and packed our furniture items with care and reassembled it at our new place. If you're looking for a great moving company, try Excalibur Moving Company... I've gotten 5-star service from them 3 times!!! Unfortunately they did not deliver to where I needed to go this past move and I mistakenly chose this company. I would give a negative star if I could. All you get are lies from everyone you speak to here!! I thought it would be best to hire a company who is able to do an in-home quote after taking an actual inventory of your furniture. Even then, there were a few "surprise charges," which I was promised there would not be. The movers blamed the in-house estimator for "overlooking" things (first example of lack of communication). You're told when your furniture is picked up you can pay by credit card, but they "forget" to inform you that you will be charged a 3.5% "convenience fee" for using a credit card. You are told about this at the time pick-up. Henry is the Sales Manager for the company. When he comes out to give an estimate, everything seems good and the company is presented as very trustworthy during the "sale." Everything also seems to go well until they get possession of your furniture and belongings... that's when the "I don't know" and "I can't help you" responses begin. Sylvia, who answers the office phone (rudely, might I say) most of the time always responds this way. She also keeps forwarding you the same email she already sent you, highlighting different parts of it, and clarifies nothing! The communication and customer service with this company is horrific!!!!! The most frustrating thing is you can't get straight answers from anyone. Then, you can't believe anything anyone says, because it is not the same as what the company has in writing, and that will be thrown in your face when you have a question or dispute. Apparently Henry doesn't remember what he tells people to get their business, denies what he said, and then refers back to "what's in writing." Don't believe the line "don't worry about the additional insurance, our company 'makes things right' if we happen to damage anything. We don't just pay by the weight." Also, don't listen to or plan your life around any quoted delivery date that is "told" to you, even if promised, just go by what's on the papers and plan for worst-case scenario, because that's probably what you'll get. "Presto" is NOT the service you receive. The ONLY POSITIVE thing about this company are the movers who picked up my furniture; they were wonderful and very professional. I did not get the 30-minute heads-up phone call I was told I would. The window of arrival was 6am-10am; I received a call at 5:35am that they were outside of my apartment and were ready to start. The 2 delivering were total opposite. The driver was 3.5 hrs late with no apologies or reasons why. The "flexible delivery times" written in the email only refers to the flexibility for the drivers and not the customers!! They feel it appropriate to tell the customer when they will deliver, even if the customer will not be home. They also feel that it is appropriate to deliver furniture between 8:30pm-11:30pm on a Sunday night... then want to rush and unload everything because "it's late." And they wanted to charge me extra to get my refrigerator in the house because "it's going to take too much time to take the handles off." Things got broken in the move, which happens. But, the company minimized the damages. The movers "balanced" my chest of drawers on the leg they broke so I wouldn't be aware that it was broken! Very shady! After I received my stuff, I sent a letter to Henry explaining my experience and the problems I encountered. He attempted to "make things right" with me, but did not succeed. He got defensive in his responses and began to blame me for things, which basically made me a little more irritated with each response. Abe, who I was told is the General Manager, never responded to anything; he ignored all emails. Henry referred to my move as a "debacle," however no service recovery was completed (attempted, but nothing materialized). I was asked to accept a refund "in good faith," but was then asked to sign a contract for the refund in the next sentence... doesn't seem like "good faith" to me. Then I became "the bad guy" when I pointed this out. I'm pretty sure the "contract" (which I have never seen because I refused to sign anything) had legal mumble-jumble to prevent me from posting this if I accept their offer. When you have an unsatisfied customer that you wish to give service recovery, you don't ask if they agree to accept money back (or have them sign a "contract")... you just send it with an apology (if you feel it will help preserve the name of your company). I would first like to say that I write very honest reviews. I hired Presto to move us from Calif to Washington state. The person I delt with was Henry which was also the person to come to my home and do a in house assessment for which no other company would do that. He gave me a very honest quote on our household goods. The day of the move, the movers worked hard and fast and wrapped everything that was needed. They made sure that my stuff was protected as much as it could be. I want to say also that the delivery was fast, faster than it was promised actually. the movers that moved our stuff into our new home were nice guys and it was at night time here in Wa, so a lot of stuff being brought into my home wasnt checked at the time, so I couldnt really assess any damage of goods. After the move was finished and my wife and I went through all the stuff , YES there was some damaged items. I do understand damage sucks, but it does happen when stuff is moved in and out of their trucks to ship. We did have our share of broken ceramic items, some furniture had some damage also. I called Henry about the damage and he jumped on it saying that he will take care of me as promised from day 1 that he would do. Now this did take awhile to go through the initial process of taking pics, writing down the value and damaged items etc to submit to their claims dept. which could of taken up to 120 days, BUT Henry again did what he said he would do and was on top of it. The process took very little time and Henry called me today and said it was done and he would go to bat for any and all that was denied, HE DID!!. I am very grateful for HENRY and sticking to his word. I am happy about the settlement, yes it can always be more as it doesnt ever cover it all, but he got us as much as possible which was good for us. I want people to understand, there are many many movers out there, I know because I did my research for over a month, talking to and emailing companies for quotes, their process, time of moves etc. Believe me Presto was the best quote, they came out to my home to give me the best price, and my stuff was delivered quickly. Every moving company is going to have damaged items, it happens. I am fully content with Presto and HENRY with our move. Henry would be the reason why I would use Presto again. Ugh should've read the yelp reviews. We did a cross country move from LA to the East Coast and most of our items arrived damaged. We specifically asked for them to pack certain items up more carefully, which they promised they would, however, that never happened. They also give you a window delivery date and the delivery man showed up at the very last hour all by himself. My husband had to help move our things in etc. After a month of getting the run around to make a claim, we found out we have to do it through a third party. This was my first time moving across country, the pick up was a little rocky. However, the communication was awesome. Henry, the manager, helped out a ton. UPDATE 09/20/18: I agreed to improve this review if Presto compensated me for the full weight of the item (342.00 for a damaged Steinway). So here is a recount of what happened. I believe the folks who came to pick up the piano did a satisfactory job taking piano apart and wrapping it up. It left for their warehouse in Texas then some Santa Fe movers brought the piano. The Santa Fe movers didn't know how to move a grand. One fellow was instructing two young fellows who never had piano experience at all. However I even had to tell the lead guy which way the sheet music rack went in...he was trying to force it in backwards. The worst was that the edge of the finish by the keyboard was severely damaged when unwrapped. It may have hit the gravel on my road, don't know. But it was during unloading it had to have happened based on where damage was located. After filing a complaint it took a negative Yelp comment to move the case along. Finally I was given the best the base claim they would allow with the agreement I'd improve my review, which I was happy to do. I waited for the check and first was told I'd get it after the review was fixed or removed. I refused, got the check and now I changed the review from one to 3 stars and an update. folks working them are reputable. Obviously 342.00 won't fix a damaged Steinway but I'm happy that they attempted to resolve this issue. read more
