Growing up in Frederick, Pretzel Pizza has always been one of my favorite spots to hit up for lunch. Its unique style sets it apart from most pizza parlors by baking homemade crust with pretzel dough. They offer a large range of toppings and the pizza sizes range anywhere from personal to 24 inches. They also have hand dipped ice cream available, as well as milkshakes, beer, and other snacks. Pretzel Pizza is fairly small on the inside, but I personally like its cozy feel. I would highly recommend it for any family or friend get-together. This place fills up fast (especially on the weekends), so don't be surprised if there is a line and/or you end up waiting for a place to sit. You really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu, but my personal favorite is a classic cheese pizza. If you love soft pretzels as much as you love pizza, this is the place for you! read more

When your in Fredrick, you'd regret it if you didn't stop by! Their pizzas are unique in options and flavors. Their meats will make you eat the entire pie even if you couldn't fit it in your belly! Really cool concept overall. Tried an egg sandwich on a pretzel roll, but was really disappointed that they microwave their eggs. :( This is such a huge turnoff but I will be back to try some of their other offerings at some point. The pretzel pizza sounds really good. Small interior so not best for groups. Definitely worth trying at least once; located in the heart of downtown Frederick with off-street parking. read more

This was the 4th location in the Yelp Hidden Gems challenge! Even though it was wayy out in Frederick, we made the hike in hopes of finding that elusive green gem! Even apart from the three green gems (!!), we got a damn good slice of pizza and three awesome flavored pretzels. The style of the this place was a lot more casual than the other three places we had been to, but I liked being able to see the pizzas and pretzels being made right in front of us! They also had a rather extensive array of ice creams that we'll have to try if we every go back there. We placed our orders, got our gems and went to their medium sized back room to carb load. The three pretzels we got were Cinnamon Sugar, Old Bay and Parmesan Herb. The parmesan herb was definitely my favorite, followed by the cinnamon sugar and then the Old bay. Unfortunately, the Old Bay was just too much salt for me, but then def don't skip on seasoning. The pretzels were piping hot and oh so soft with a hint of sweet. Definitely recommend. We got the New York Pizza with garlic sauce, onion, ricotta cheese, spinach all on a pretzel crust. I don't know what ricotta cheese they used but it was AMAZING. So creamy without being too heavy. It was perfect and tasted great with everything else on the pizza. I don't know why all crusts are not pretzel dough cause its freaking fabulous. The only thing I would say is that the prices are a little high for what you get. Me being a jersey girl, where pizzeria are everywhere, it stings a little to pay $25 for a medium pizza, but this was quite delicious. read more

Incredible find for a pizza lovers with doughy pretzel crust to boot ;-) Foods great but limited to there pretzel dough line, hence the name. Situated in downtown Fredrick parking is off street. We swing by on Sunday afternoon traffics was light and easily found parking & self seat tables. Note, it's 1st come 1st seating w about 10 tables. Great little sandwich, pretzel, calzone, pizza and ice cream joint! Ok, so this place has a lot on the menu, but besides the ice cream and soup, everything is made from the most amazing pretzel dough. They have pretzels, stuffed pretzels, yummy sandwiches, pizzas, calzones...and so much more. Everything we tried was yummy. The atmosphere is typical of restored Frederick, exposed brick walls, country chic decor, nice and cozy. Service was also great. I would say the downside is that it is a little pricey. For a sandwich, a cinnamon pretzel, a medium pep pizza and a few drinks, I paid close to $40....kind of expensive for lunch with the kids...but overall a good find. read more

I really wanted to give a better review but i just spent $40 on the tasteless pizza ive ever tried. This was my second time here. The first time i visited the pizza was great. Today i happened to be down town so we thought we will go have pizza. We ordered the philly cheese steak. It comes with steak, mushrooms green bell peppers and cheese. The pizza was so tasteless you take a bite and you cant taste sauce, you cant taste the steak or the mushrooms, even the cheese had 0 taste. The peppers were the only thing that had taste. Thank god for ranch because that was the only thing that could save this pie. I left so disappointed, i wish i had gone to dominos and had real tasty pizza. Not to mention the place was empty and we waited a good 20-25 mins...At least now i wont have cravings for this place and wont spend a fortune kf tasteless bread. Im giving 2 stars because their ice cream is very good (because its not made in house). read more

O.M.Goodies. This is a MUST visit if you're in Frederick town. Pretzel & Pizza has delicious Pretzel Pizzas and desserts. While visiting on a weekend trip, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by for dinner. There was a line for outdoor seating (the only seating while Covid). We manage to get a table 20min before closing! Not impressed. First time here, the staff was not friendly. I asked what their specialty was or what they'd recommend for a first timer and I got no response. So I chose the pepperoni and cheese stuffed pretzel because it was a "specialty" item on the menu. They weren't that busy but I still had to wait almost 20 minutes....for one pretzel. The pretzel was not that good. Definitely not worth the long wait. There was hardly any cheese or pepperoni stuffed into it. Will not be back or recommend. read more

On a spur of the moment decided to try this place for a mid afternoon snack. Tried the crab pretzel. It was soooo delish. The pretzel was warm and buttery. We have lived in Frederick for over 5 years and only now getting around to trying this spot. I wish we didn't wait so long it was amazing! There are so many great places to eat in downtown Frederick. Many of them I have returned to a number of times. But this place I literally would eat at every day. The food is that good. If you're looking for a nice sit down type of place, then choose one of the great places around it, but if you want some comfort food, a hearty lunch/dinner (and for those late nighters- beverage soaking munchies) then make your way. There is limited seating a few tables up front where the counter is and a few more in the back, and most of the time you can find a seat. As far as food l, well I pretty much have eaten the menu. Top Pizza Faves - the bubbly cheese , the Olympic Games, the Hawaiian and the Meat Combo. The Calzones come in 2 sizes and the regular size is plenty for 1 with enough leftover for another meal. Top Zones include 5 Meat, the Philly and I typically will concoct something based on what I'm feeling. Pretzel Sandwiches are right up there. Here I strongly encourage you to get inventive. If one of the menu items doesn't sound appealing, create your own! I just love the roast beef and cheddar and add ham. The Pretzel Wrapped dogs are, you guessed it, killer. These are my Goto's. I typically start with the Wisconsin as my base but then sub in whatever meat I'm feeling. While both dogs are good the all beef dogs are worth the upgrade. Being a Pretzel shop first (hence the name) you cannot go wrong with the stuffed pretzels. For the health conscious they have a very good variety of fresh salads. And if all that is not enough for you, they have a full selection of fresh ice cream, and their iced tea (sweet or unsweetened or my personal fave the halfcut) is fresh brewed! But if you only go for one thing and you have a sweet tooth, it would be a crime not to give the pretzel Oreos a go. You will not be disappointed. read more

I must have tried everything on the menu at least once and have never been disappointed. I recommend any one of their pizza's and their stuffed pretzels. They are soooooo soft and nice and warm. This place preys on those after a night out at the bars. They price gouge like you wouldn't believe. During the day, it's a typical price of $13-14. However, after 8p the price jumps easily $15 for a cheese pizza. Nearly $30 for a pizza is outrageous. Further, their pizza is subpar. When given the choice between a pretzel and a pizza, I took the menu page less opened. Real turkey shopped up and placed upon a pretzel foccasia. Nice, but WAIT, this isn't over.. the buttery goodness somehow soft played it's roll into buttery deliciousness. It was my 1st time visiting Frederick MD and my daughter came across this resturant online bc of it would be different for us to try. All it took was one bite of the pizza pretzel, cinnamon pretzel and jelapeno and cheddar cheese pretzel to fall in love with them. That was one of the best pizzas I ever tasted. When pretzels and pizzas make babies, they come out just as good as you'd think if you come here! Split a 12" Philly cheesesteak pizza and garlic knots with my besticle. This was enough food that we had to pawn them off on boyfriend after. The PCS pizza comes with a soft but chewy pretzel crust topped with steak slices, onions, green pepper. We added corn for good measure and IT. WAS. DANNNK. Garlic knots were okay, greasy and but not as garlicky as one might expect. Top off this heart attack with some ice cold Coke. Yaaaaaassssss. The inside is not well ventilated and the fumes burned my eyes upon entering. Seating is scant on a Sunday afternoon but thankfully the weather was nice enough for outdoor seating.
