My Friend and I were turned away for a reservation because he was wearing a tank top. The hostess rolled her eyes when she saw us. It says on the websites here is no dress code. When my friend asked for a jacket they offered small woman's jacket even though we could see they had others. I can't really know their motivation, but it felt homophobic. I've been waiting to try this place for sometime now, I was really excited to try it and was greeted by friendly staff, clean dining, and attentive staff. They have a large selection in wine, but in my opinion, it was well overpriced. I got one of the off menu steaks which was approximately a 36oz tomahawk steak, loaded smash potatoes, asparagus, and a seafood bisque. The food came out and was great in presentation. The seafood bisque had great flavor, but was lacking in the amount of "seafood" in it which made it less hearty than desired. The loaded smash potatoes was a great option as a side with no complaints. The asparagus featured a toasted Parmesan and aioli sauce which was a nice touch. The meal also came with bread and a caramelized onion butter which was unique and flavorful. Now to what you have been waiting for... the steak. I am a big steak eater and was excited when it was presented. I asked for medium rare and the majority of the steak was as such. The steak came with a bone marrow butter that was melted on top. The steak in my opinion was less than great but better than average. It lacked flavor despite the description given. The steak lacked the great cast iron flavor that one would expect when cooked with butter and herbs. So this review is a few weeks late and the story after the review would be awesome to tell but here is the short version. The steak was just right. Not perfect or the best but it was really good. I think I should have tried something else other than the blue cheese on my first round, but I like me some blue cheese. It just wasn't enough. The meat was very tender and good but I think it wasn't a hit w the blue cheese. The salad wasn't too shabby and the bread and butter they bring out. Man I could have eaten so much more of that! Like I was wanting more of it two days later! But back to the meat. It was a good size and was cooked perfectly. It made me wish they had a sampler of all the side preps for that meat cause there were like 4. This place is making it on our going to visit again when we have an event to Goto or special occasion because the food was just spot on! So the wait staff... rocks. Difficult to fully assess as our first visit was for the Happy Hour every Monday. Beer selection was a little sparse for my liking but they did have my go-to beer so not all was lost. The food was 1/2 price off the bar menu and the bar area was packed but the rest of the restaurant was empty. We had the Lump Crab Risotto and the Stuffed Breast of Chicken. Decided to have my Birthday dinner here & after eating here a few times I can say the steaks are very tender but they are also extremely lackluster. My friend & I both got the same dish hers cooked medium well & mine cooked medium. It just really lacked flavor & was more on the rare side. I got a side salad,Brussel Sprouts, and a half order of mashed potato's. The potatoes tasted like they were from the box & Brussel sprouts didn't have flavor either. The Mac & Cheese was good & so was the salad. I also got a free dessert for my Birthday that was good. However when my friend & I asked for to go boxes the server collected our plates & food took it to the back to bag it for us but it didn't seem sanitary the way the server was handling our dishes. Would much rather the server box the food in front of us next time. Ambiance was nice because we came at a time we had the restaurant to ourselves. Server was good. Just ok. The escargot appetizer was very good with an incredible sauce/dressing. But.... This is a steakhouse. $66 for a ribeye with no sides you have to serve a good steak. Just didn't deliver. Lots of sauce, a type of aioli, also pretty flavorless. We asked the burger be cooked medium rare, and it was past well done. The winner for the evening was the French fries for sure. When ordering a beverage from the bar (vodka soda with lemon, as always) somehow I received a vodka tonic with lime. Don't get me wrong, I drank it, but I am not a tonic fan, hence the request for soda. That all being said, the waitstaff was great, attentive. We had reservations Saturday April 3rd at 6 pm for 4. Arrived on time and they were seating us at a high top table. We asked for any other table due to my husband who is a disabled Veteran and can't sit at a high top due to his knees. They REFUSED to move us and stated that all the tables were reserved. The restaurant was half full, asked to speak with someone else and they said the same thing, Really??? We left and went to a Fabulous steak house in the other side of town. We came with a party of 11 Saturday August 5th. The hostess and wait staff were excellent. However, the beaf and the preparation were no where near the standards of places like Mahogany's; Flemings; Bull in the Ally; Hemingway's. Two in our party sent food back for additional cooking. I ate mine that was ordered medium well but was closer to medium rare. No one wanted to complain during the dinner but afterwards it was unanimous that the food was under cooked, poor seasoning and your house sauces were more like gravy. The marrow butter was just not good. I have never written a negative review but wanted you to know of our experience. No one from our group will return not give a recommendation to friends. I was in town got work.. I tried this steak house for the first time recently before Christmas. The server was adamant about pork belly and scallops ... even though I came in for the crab cakes.. but since she recommended it so highly-- I ordered the pork belly and scallops.. the scallops tasted ok but I didn't think they were super fresh. That appetizer is definitely for 2 people! My filet was a little more rare than "medium rare". The girls in the bar area were very friendly.. and fun! The guy who was a manager wasn't that friendly.. he kinda acted like a bouncer.. and I didn't feel very welcomed to the restaurant.. maybe he was having a bad day. All in all, I had a good Experience at this restaurant.. the bartender, her name was Ray or Rachel .. she was very knowledgeable about wines and the menu! She seems like a pro in that realm. My husband and I took a short getaway to Tulsa this past weekend, and after meticulously researching restaurants, decided we should try Phryme. We knew it would be expensive, but it was a birthday trip, and we both enjoy fine dining, so figured it was justified. Super glad we went! The restaurant itself was pretty nice. Modern decor, very clean and neat. Our server was fantastic! He was not overbearing by any means, and managed to check on us several times throughout our meal without being intrusive. He deserved every bit of his 20% tip. Now, for the food: AMUSE BOUCHE - Any restaurant that gives me an amuse bouche wins points! I love little bites! This was a crostini topped with a prime rib and portobello mushroom pate. Omg. Divine. Definitely indicative of the things to come! STARTER - I had the Fire Roasted Corn and Crab Bisque. They brought out a bowl of corn with a few pieces of jumbo crab meat. I thought for a second I misunderstood the menu, and this is what I ordered. But then they had a tureen full of bisque that they poured over the corn and crab, and I'm like ... nice touch. The taste was amazing. The crab was perfectly cooked, texture of the bisque was like velvet. So yummy! My husband had the Fried Escargot with Lemon Aioli. I have never tried escargot before - I mean, they're snails after all - but thought now was my opportunity to do so. He gave me a small one dipped in the aioli, and surprisingly it tasted no worse than a fried mushroom! So kudos to Phryme for not making me hate escargot :) ENTREE - I ordered the Surf & Turf, which was 2 filet medallions topped with Bernaise and 3 jumbo shrimp, accompanied by a corn and pepper maque choux. Lemme tell you, the medallions were cooked perfectly and absolutely melted in my mouth. Extremely tender and flavorful. I died! The shrimp were seasoned well. The whole entree was fantastic. My husband got the 30-Day Aged Strip with a nice slab of foie gras butter melted on top. He said it was perfectly cooked and the foie gras was amazing. I did not see the foie gras listed on the menu as an enhancement selection so I do not know if they have this all the time. It was just a recommendation by our server. To my husband, foie gras is a magic word, so the server did well. Our sides were the Pomme Frites with Garlic Aioli and Bernaise - fantastic, but they are french fries, and since when can you have french fries on the table and not want to devour them? But these were truly good. We've had pomme frites at other places, and the fries were nothing spectacular. The other side was the Bacon Brown Butter Brussel Sprouts. Expertly charred and seasoned. Loved them! DESSERT - Last but not least. My husband eats anything chocolate, so he had the Phryme Chocolate Pie, which was basically chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate. I had what I considered the most unique thing they offered - the PB&J Parfait. Peanut butter mousse, blueberry compote, Frangelico whipped cream. So rich, decadent, creamy .. sinful. We had come in from out of state on a Saturday and we weren't sure our time would be able to be changed. The front desk was extremely accommodating so we could push it back an hour. Our server Alex was knowledgeable about every detail of the menu, all of the specials for the evening, and recommendations for dessert. He was extremely attentive. Every server in there made sure our glasses never were empty. And the food. The sirloin (mine was medium rare) melted in your mouth! What a gem of a restaurant! This was my first visit to Prhyme. This place has a lot of potential for a wonderful evening because the dish I had was exceptional. The service was another story. I waited 14 minutes at the table before being offered to order a drink. When I received my drink, it didn't have a straw and I didn't see my waiter for another 10 minutes. 4-5 employees flocked to a 6 top table in the bar area where a couple came in and sat down and had a baby in a carrier. They were sweaty and in workout clothes (not appropriately dressed) and I believe they all called her Mia (Possibly an off work employee) This could be why the wait for service, once sat, was so lengthy because the employees socialize more than serve. I highly recommend the stuffed chicken. Don't expect the experience of Mahogany's but the food is A+ with an Outback wait staff. ****Update**** On October 3, we retried Prhyme and it was absolutely wonderful. Amazing experience! My sister and I came in for an early dinner and sat by bar. Our bartender, Rachel, was incredibly attentive and amicable. We started the evening with the fried escargot. Fried to perfection, the escargot was juicy and crispy only to further be complimented by a zesty aioli. I ordered a kölsch from a local brewery which paired nicely with the escargot as it was light, crisp, and flavorful. We additionally ordered two of the carne asada tacos. Needless to say I was very impressed by the tacos. The meat was tender, juicy, and had incredible flavor. The salsa also had a nice kick to it. For my main entree I went with the duck upon Rachel's recommendation and was not disappointed. Everything about the plate was spectacular from the grits to the mushrooms. My next two drinks were a paper plane and a tom collins which Rachel knocked out of the park. For my last cocktail she made me a dessert type espresso drink with tequila. 11/10 read more

Dined here just a few days after they reopened due to Covid. We had a bar table and Blake was our server/bartender. Blake was fantastic and helped raise the rating as service can make or break an experience. We enjoyed our favorite ice cold martinis to start - prepared well, but a tad on the small side for your traditional steakhouse martini. I think It's an $8 drink that they charge $11 for - at least they don't try to charge $14-$15! I requested bread which was really nice especially with a caramelized onion butter spread. We shared an iceberg wedge salad, a large filet with foie gras butter, au gratin potatoes, and onion rings. They do "half" sizes of the side orders which is nice if you aren't into leftovers. The wedge was your typical iceberg, tomato, bleu cheese, cucumbers, and bacon - they top it with crispy onion straws. The lettuce was okay, spotted some brown pieces and the freshness was a bit off. Generous dressing masked most of it though. The filet was perfectly cooked to our rare plus request, tender, and flavorful thanks to the foie gras butter, and $8 add on. The potatoes were a delicious indulgence, filled with two cheeses and a crumble top. Their onion rings were crispy, hot, and accompanied by their homemade bbq sauce. Overall, it was a nice treat, and Blake was top notch in his service. Onion rings arrived as we were about finished, so typically you might expect an option or comp at that point. The steaks are delicious, prime, but pricey -- probably 10-15% too high for Tulsa in my opinion. But for a once in a while splurge, you will get high quality meat, service, and other complementary side and main options. Sit in the bar and ask for Blake! read more

I usually don't go to steakhouses. Even when I go to steakhouses, there's one thing I can trust (outside of the obvious), burgers. I got their Prhyme Burger. Grade A! Brie cheese, applewood smoked bacon, buttered lettuce & their Prhyme steak sauce. I'm starting to like buttered lettuce a lot. Also, their steak sauce is extremely good. There was some type of sweetness to it, I don't know if it was the bacon or something else but I enjoyed it. The fries were cool. I asked for honey mustard & they make it from scratch. It looks grainy, like Dijon mustard & it was good as well. I also tried a Root Beer Old Fashion. It's definitely not soda. Basil Hayden Bourbon, house made root beer bitters & orange. Super strong. Also, I wanted to add that I ate at the bar. They have a bar menu, totally different than the main menu but it's still worth what's on it. read more

Wife and I had French onion soup, 6 oz mushroom crusted filets, brussel sprouts, and potato's au gratin. The food was fantastic! We frequently come here for special occasions. The bar area by far has been the best service. Since we had a party of 4- we reserved the restaurant side. BIG mistake. Huge! First, valet is not available anymore. Not even a relationship with the hotel next door. After circling multiple parking areas for 40 minutes, we had to walk 8 blocks, in 29 degrees weather, and was late for our reservation. (We did call to let them know, thankfully, they said no problem). Finally get seated, to have a waiter tell us all the excuses why they don't have valet anymore. NOT good customer service. Then the waiter starts moving menus, plates, silverware, etc to place napkins in our lap. That may be the etiquette, but I believe in asking first, as it was interrupting our conversation. The meal was average and very salty. Service was slow. And only one person was asked for dessert. The rest of the table was ignored. All for the price of around $400. There are too many competitive steak houses to settle for this. read more

I actually had chicken which is unusual for me. My girlfriend had the filet. It was such an excellent meal. The waiter was very attentive and had great suggestions. We adore Prhyme Steakhouse! I just cannot say enough amazing things about this place. I don't have a single negative comment which is a surprise for me. My husband and I came here for our 11th anniversary and they greeted us with open arms! We sat at the bar and our amazing waitress brought us bread with some fantastic honey butter and lavender. It was delicious. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie platter which came with cheeses, fruit, bread, and meats. While we were eating, our waitress went on ahead and took the Groupon so we wouldn't have to wait at the end. Our steak came out soon after we finished the appetizer. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were divine. The green beans were good too. Our waitress kept our sprites filled and we never had to ask. She and I enjoyed joking about things while we ordered dessert. The entire staff was just amazing tonight!!! Our dessert was no surprise, a creme Brûlée, my favorite. I also ordered the Topeca French press coffee. The creme Brûlée was incredible and so was the coffee. When it came time for the bill, it came to...102.39. Our Groupon covered all but 2.39! They comped our dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. So we tipped them generously. We love Prhyme Steakhouse and are forever customers. I've eaten here several times, never had a dissappointing dish, ever. My server was Mark, top notch service without being robotic. Made us giggle several times. Went there with my lady, had a blast. She had the lamb chops (let me try one) best I've ever seen or even heard of...I had the ribeye it was excellent, but I miss the 'aged' steaks they used to have, a casualty of COVID they said, which I can understand. All in all I would not hesitate to go again. The hostess didn't make me feel like a goof for not being able to read the receipt without my glasses, just ask they may have a pair apparently they are the most left behind item at the restaruant, who know? We made a reservation for my husband's birthday. I called the day of our reservation and made sure they knew it was his birthday. They said it was noted and it was their standard procedure to provide a dessert to complete the celebration. I let them know I would be happy to pay for it, but wanted to make sure that a dessert was provided. It was not. Not a word was said by the wait person about it being a birthday celebration. We were happy with the food, but the celebration fell flat as they did not come through on completing the process. Disappointing. We usually celebrate special occasions at Mahogany and they never fail to acknowledge the celebration. Guess we will have to remain where the details are not overlooked. I mentioned it to JOEL my server who was awesome!!!! He asked if he could take my steak and get me another one? I told him I was not trying to be picky and he was so gracious about wanting me to enjoy my steak! Hands down great place!! Yes it's on the expensive side of Restaurants.
