I love love pizza. It's my favorite food group lol. I've had Prime pizza from various locations and it is always delicious. I love how their slices are so big and they have so many pepperoni slices. Other pizza places barely add any pepperoni but Prime isn't stingy with theirs. Their pizza is so savory and delicious and reminds me of NY pizza. If you love pizza and great service then you have to eat at Prime. They have a big parking lot so no need to worry about that. read more

So my wife and I was looking for a pizza place near us in Playa del Rey and we were out of luck for the 20+ years we've lived in Los Angeles. We have tolerated commercial pizza joints, neighborhood pizza spots but nope nothing until today. We watched Dave Portnoy do a review on Prime and found a location near us and gave you a try. Plus My New York Giants finally won a game!!! So it was time to celebrate My children gave the approval that we'll be ordering again. At first bite my wife was like! This tastes like the way pizza should. The only knock, the pizzas wasn't HT and the Buffalo wings could have been cooked more. Overall tastes 8.1 out of 10. We will be back! After traveling all day, we were excited to try this place. Waited two hours. Never delivered my pizza, just cancelled the order.

Heard about this place from a coworker so decided to try. Tried numerous slices. The Sicilian slice, the grandma, the vodka sauce, the pepperoni, and the spicy pepperoni. Overall they were all good even with them being reheated. I'm sure they're even better when fresh. The Sicilian and pepperoni were my favorites. The only issue which wasn't too big of a deal was I felt there was a lack of professionalism from the service. They weren't rude or anything, they're were playing uncensored vulgar hip hop music which I thought wasn't too family friendly. Also, when I went to order the cashier just looked at me and said nothing, no hello no smile no nothing. After ordering I sat right in front of the cashier and literally 2 min he walked out with my slices but forgot where to go. Like he forgot who ordered this. I can understand if it was busy but it was just me and one other couple (who already had their order.) Kinda funny. Regardless the pizza was real good and I'd definitely go back and probably order a fresh whole pie to go. read more

We finally tried this pizza place that had been recommended to us - and we were not disappointed. We went for the square style meat lover's pizza with added pesto. It was an excellent pizza. The crust was medium thick and leaned a bit towards the chewier side. The toppings was tasty and it was definitely worth adding the pesto. Service was great - pizza was prepared well within the time promised and they have a nice warmer oven to keep the pizza fresh before you arrive. Pizza was very good and had all the flavors of Sicily. I got the square meat lovers pizza for my family and it was the perfect amount that left us with leftovers for the next day. The ingredients were fresh and the cheese was real dairy farm cheese. They had the perfect mixture of meat, cheese, and salsa on the pie. I called ahead of time so I didn't get any photos, however the service was quick and the employees were very nice. The El Segundo location is very chill and you can dine inside or outside on the patio. This pizza spot will definitely be in the rotation. read more

Food I got the white pizza and Sicilian pizza. Both pizza were definitely really good. The white pizza was rich with that cheese, and the ricotta was a good way to cut some of that richness. The sicilian was my favorite, it had tomato sauce, pesto, and ricotta and the flavor of the three just melded so well together. My main complaint with the pizza is that I found it to be overcooked making it crunchier than it needed to be and making it harder to bite and chew on. But the flavor is really the saving grace of the food Service/Ambiance It's a good lowkey place with that brooklyn pizza place vibe. Painful to do this but I've been here at least 10-15 times so I can say this with authority. The staff couldn't be nicer but the slices are just TERRIBLE. 2 back to back experiences where the slice tastes like coagulated cardboard. Just awful (like spit it out awful). Maybe their whole pies are better but the place is so expensive l (4.50 per slice. Like 13 bucks or so for a small salad) why even bother. That was my last visit. Hard pass. read more

Hey, just had lunch at Prime Pizza and the it was terrific!!! I like the regular pizza, the dough is thin like New York style!! I also want to go back and try the deep dish pizza as well. We ordered 2 pizzas. One gluten free which was perfect and the other a 1/2 and 1/2. We used to always have a slam dunk pizza, but lately Quality gone down, unfortunately. I think you are rushing through orders, not taking their time and not doing quality checks before boxing. We hardly had any sausage, pepperoni, red onion you name it and burnt crust. Boy, was I in the ZONE! I was in complete control of my workday, just breezin' through with ease and thought I was gonna have an easy day! But then my appetite decided to throw a wrench at that flow - "WE WANT PIZZA!!!" (Insert face-palm here.) Since I had tons to do, the break needed to be quick. And I didn't want a whole pizza, the palates really just wanted a taste. Easy enough, went through the list of pizza places in my bookmarks and I was here in no time. It's a no nonsense kinda place. Simple interior decor, if at that. They're pretty popular for a lunch run, though. A lot of their tables were occupied, tons of pick up for called in orders and I was behind maybe 2 or 3 customers to put in orders. I went for a regular pepperoni and a square spicy pepperoni. Staff was nice and asked if I wanted a corner piece. "Sure!" Didn't take long before I got back and pies were still hot. Took a bite of the regular pepperoni and nothin to call home about. It was the "taste" I was looking for. I was a little nervous about the spicy slice, though, as there was only so much heat I can take. But it wasn't bad at all! It had a kick, sure, but nothing detrimental. And I'm glad I got a corner piece: the sorta-burnt corner made a difference in taste. FOOD: 4. There something about the crust I REALLY liked. It wasn't because it was cooked through-and-through (although that's always a plus.) More about its flavor. I'll figure this out hopefully on the next visit. SERVICE: 4. Staff was friendly and I loved the corner suggestion! VALUE: 5. Less than $10 (plus tax and tip) for two generous slices?! Worth it. PARKING: Private lot shared with others. Parking spots aplenty. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4.25. Fine, I'll admit, one of the reasons I wanted to check them out was because this place has the same name as my fur baby. Prime Pizza is pretty mediocre. We ordered the supreme pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, olive, red onion, red pepper) for $30 and it was just decent. The crust is pretty flavorless, but the tomato sauce was really good. Food is just okay. I would recommend just getting a few slices of what's already made, and maybe try something different. For my money prime pizza is the best pizza in town. We went there the other night and decided to eat the pizza there as we didn't want to reheat it when we got home. We enjoyed the yummy garlic knots which were so good and the white pizza and pepperoni pizza along with the Caesar salad. The Caesar dressing was outstanding and as good as any, I've had in a fine dining restaurant. I'm dairy free so I typically default to vegan pizza and have got to say that the Vegan Supreme Pizza was so delicious. So flavorful and no typical odd vegan cheese taste. Garlic knots were soft n toasty, perfectly paired with the marinara sauce. The Caesar salad was fresh, dressing was on the thicker side which I prefer! Crutons appeared house made and seasoned. As an east coaster it's hard to find a real good pie here in LA. This place delivers just that

We decided to try Prime. We typically order from Fresh Brothers, North Italia, Round Table, Little Gourmet, and occasionally, Dominos. First of all, the location is tricky. If heading north on PCH there is a very real risk of being rear-ended by fast-moving traffic on PCH. The driveways are very narrow and if someone pulling out is hogging the driveway (as was the case last night), just cross your fingers and pray. Heading south, there is a turn lane, but again, the driveway thing is sketchy. As far as ambiance is concerned, it is lacking. But, it's a pizza place, so, whatever. Now, for the service and food: I called in my order at 4:30 p.m. and asked to have the pizzas ready for a 5:30 pick-up. My order was very standard. A sausage/pep pizza and a BBQ chicken pizza with EXTRA onions and cilantro. I arrived at 5:35 and went to the counter to pick up my order. I was told it was not ready and that it would be just a few minutes. I received a text at 5:57 saying my order was ready. So, I guess it doesn't help to specify a pick up time ONE HOUR AHEAD, because the pizza will be ready when it's ready! I took a look at both pizzas and they are SERIOUSLY LACKING! Basically, almost no cheese, probably less than 1/4 of a chicken breast, very skimpy on the onions and cilantro (which I had asked for extra and was charged for extra), and finally, WAY too much sauce, as if they were trying to make up for the other lacking ingredients by drowning it in BBQ sauce! The pep and sausage pizza was also sorely lacking all three ingredients! SKIMPY TOPPINGS ON BOTH! I am posting photos of REAL pizzas we have had from North Italia, Fresh Brothers and Little Gourmet, along with pizzas from Prime. I am all about supporting small businesses! But PLEASE! Get it together! Your business is going to suffer with negative reviews, and more importantly, negative word-of-mouth! read more

First time comin in and I will say it was 10/10 best slice I've had in SoCal in a WHILE. Service is through the roof, they all checked in and made sure we had everything and also asked about my day and when I let them know I worked down the street (1st day) they gave us all free cookies! First time at this newest location for Prime Pizza...and it did not dissappoint!! Sometimes its hard to know what to expect when a successful restaurant opens up additional locations. But with Prime, it looks like they are doing just fine spreading their wings and expanding without missing a beat. The service was great & the food is just as good as at the downtown location. We always get a slice of the pepperoni, but this was our first time trying the white, which was excellent as well! And NEVER forget your side of homemade ranch! Best anywhere! read more
