I don't often go out for pizza.. but when I do, I'm always on the lookout for the best kinda slice my money can buy - especially when my palate is attuned to square-cut, tavern style, Chicago pizza! Prime Pizza came HIGHLY recommended by a dear friend of mine and it is now my go-to spot whenever I'm in the area (or even out in Long Beach - I don't mind making the drive). I've visited twice now and have been absolutely DELIGHTED with the pizza experience here. I've had both the New York style slices as well as the square cut slices, both being equally delicious. Thus far, I've tried the spicy pepperoni square cut, the bbq chicken square cut, and the NY style pepperoni. The spicy pepperoni is, hands down, the tastiest of the bunch! The sauce is beautifully spiced, the pepperoni is baked to crisp perfection, the cheese blend is gooey-ooey-just-the-right-amount, and the crust is a perfect combination of crispy, chewy, and satisfying. I would LOVE if they had a thin/NY style spicy pepperoni option because THAT would be my absolute go-to. I love the vibe of the shop - open space, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, napkin dispensers at each table, a water spigot/cups, a plethora of chili flake and parmesan canisters, friendly staff, and they sell some pretty cool merch! Love, love, LOVE their Supreme pizza and buffalo wings!! So meaty and tasty and cheesy!! I like getting one for my hour and a half commute on the highway. Just put the box in the passenger seat and dump the buffalo wings on top and cover them with ranch dressing and you have the perfect commuter de-stresser. It gets a little messy but i slip into an old sweatshirt before the ride home cuz of all the stains. Also, the steering wheel gets super slick and greasy which is not optimal for driving so I make sure and have a big sani -cloth dispenser in the center console so I can clean up as I drive. Took one star off my review because I ended up getting in a fender bender on the 105 Freeway and the pizza flew all over my car and got mashed in the carpeting and upholstery. Craving a New York slice, look no further than Prime Pizza! Got a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was nice and thin with a great crust. They give a good amount of pepperoni on their pizza. We also go the chicken parm sandwich, which we would not get again. The chicken was cut oddly, you would assume it would be a flat piece of chicken with cheese, marinara and basil but there were chunks of chicken and not enough marinara. Finally had an opportunity to stop by Prime Pizza's El Segundo location! First things first, I'm quite appreciative of how big the parking lot is here. If you have been to their other locations, you'll know that a lot of the locations either don't have any parking or the parking lot is not the biggest. Other than that, this location is quite spacious. Lots of room to sit either inside or outside! As far as the pizza, I ordered a sausage pizza with added meatball, ricotta, and garlic to go. The quality here is as great as any other location that I have ordered from. Definitely not letting down the Prime Pizza name! Staff here are really friendly. My pizza was a tad behind schedule on my order time, but they were prompt and had it to me quickly. Pizza was super hot at that point! I'm am New York transplant so I'm always looking for decent pizza. This place could work, I only tried the cheese so I can't talk to their other pizza but to really judge a pizza place you have to get the cheese. Pros: super friendly staff. The pizza is thin and crispy which is unheard of in SoCal, so I was excited to try it. The crunch from the crust was great. They offer slices and slice combos which again, is a little hard to come by in SoCal. Cons: literally no flavor. The sauce to cheese ratio was off (a little too much sauce) and the sauce was bland. The cheese was also very bland, no salt or flavor. This is literally the only reason for 3 stars. I will go back to try their other slices, the grandma slice looked good. The pepperoni did not look enticing because they use the tiniest pepperoni... can't call yourself NY style pizza and use the little pepperonis my guy. C'mon. I ordered a few slices of the regular pizza and it was decent. However, my gf ordered the gluten free pizza and she got SEVERE food poisoning. She ate a slice the 1st day, then felt off, and thinking it maybe something else, ate the rest of the pizza the next day and then became very very ill for days. We called to let them know, so no one else would get sick and they blew us off. We will NOT be returning. Be forewarned, they do not seem to care if you get sick from their food. read more

Prime pizza is a nice pizza establishment! It got its fame from a 8.1 Dave Portnoy review a few years ago (though at a different location). When you walk in, you're welcomed by the smell of fresh pizzas. You just walk up to the counter and order what you like, you can grab a whole pizza or order by the slice (along with many other options pasta, apps, beer, etc.). The ambiance is casual. There were TVs playing the game a plenty of people deep in conversation, especially families of all ages. We were a little larger group, so we grabbed an Arrabiatta round, meat lovers square, Sicilian square, and some garlic knots. All the pizza was excellent. Though I do think it would've fallen slightly short of the Dave Portnoy 8.1 for us. The flop wasn't quite there though the crust was crispy! If we were to rank them we liked the dough/crust of the squares better, but the Arrabiatta was our favorite. Something about the combination of flavors, with the hint of spice just made it delicious! Oh and don't let us forget about the garlic knots! Those suckers were garlicky in all the best ways! Definitely a great add. read more

Came here to nab some dinner and watch the game before Christmas lights. I did hear good reviews by el presidente (Portnoy) about this spot. It's your typical sports bar type of vibe. Couple of tvs to watch Thursday night football. The food was pretty decent but nothing special in my opinion. It is worth the price. I had both the square slice and triangle, I think the crust on the square is better but the triangle flavor is overall superior. Service was good and quick. I freaking love prime pizza because it's the closest thing we have to NYC style pizza. The secret to all slice shops is the reheating factor and man I love it here. The slices are a big pricey but to be honest even in NYC it cost just as much (if you exclude the crappy $1.50 slices). I'd say prime pizza can definitely go toe to toe with some of the slice shops in NYC. Flavor/taste of the slices here are amazing and I love the grandma/square slices. I was here on Sunday picking up a pie for a family dinner. I got the Sicilian. The expected pick up time matched when I got a text telling me that the pie was ready. I dropped in and the pie was sitting with all of the other take out orders in a warming oven. I got back home about 20 minutes later and we dug in right away. We heard a lot of great things about Prime Pizza, but were a bit disappointed. The pesto and ricotta were great but the crust was a let down. The place looked pretty clean and there was plenty of parking and added bonus they had the Dodger game on! Now on to the pizzas! They didn't have a full selection to choose from when I got there (granted it was later in the evening), however, the slices that jumped out at me the most were the Sicilian and the BBQ Chicken. Service was friendly and gentleman that helped me brought the slices out to the table and even followed up and asked how everything was. Both slices I ordered were outstanding and while the BBQ Chicken was on the sweeter side, the spice of the jalapenos definitely added a nice contrast to the sweet. Nice crust as well and overall the quality of the ingredients shined. The Sicilian was probably my favorite out of the two though they are completely different styles. read more

Pretty solid pizza spot. I'm not a picky pizza guy but this place definitely stands out from the rest. The biggest differences are their tomato sauce and the dough of their rectangular pizzas. The sauce tastes like a legit homemade sauce and the dough is like a focaccia bread. I got a whole Sicilian and the flavor and texture were great. It was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Not greasy at all and reheats nicely. My whole family enjoyed it. Wanted to try one of their rounds for comparison so I'll probably be back. Also liked that they had a lot of veggie protein options. $30 bucks for a pizza is a little steep so it's not a place i would frequent for pizza. It's located in a small plaza with a good amount of parking. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it's an old pizza shop vibe and smell in there. Ordered from these guys for a work luncheon. their website makes ordering so easy. Delivery was on time and courteous. They sent lots of Parmesan cheese and hot chilies, but you have to order it at time of order placement. This place has been on my list for a while. I finally tried it last night through Uber eats. I'm am so happy that I did it was awesome. 1st of all the pizza is huge, one slice can easily be two. The crust was just right not to crunchy and not to floppy. I love a large foldable NY style slice, so this was perfect. The pepperoni's on this pie taste so good with a little kick to it, I could eat a million of those little cups of goodness. The sauce was light and flavorful a perfect pair with the pepperoni's. The cheese was that real deal mozzarella cheese very tasty. This is my wife's and I favorite pies at the moment we will be getting many more in the future. Oh this location used to be the home of Valentino's pizza. That was me and my family's favorite pizza place. This Prime pizza that took it's place is 10x better for sure.
