First thing to note is this is super thin pizza. I'm usually not a fan of paper thin pizza but Proletariat is too tasty to dislike. My fav is the Real Hawaiian pizza. I have lived in Seattle since 1992 and being a transplant from Boston, finding decent pizza that is not grossly overpriced (or that tastes like cardboard) in Seattle is hard to do. I don't understand why pizza is so expensive here as Boston and New York are more expensive cities to live but the price is much more reasonable, like 12 bucks a large and $1.50 a topping or so. For some reason, pizza in Seattle, for the most part, tastes like cardboard and is $25 or higher for a large. I have had Proletariat Pizza twice and for Seattle it is pretty good but it is not cheap. Their happy price of $14 is what a large should cost but I will not belabor that point. Pizza is overpriced in Seattle and you can get it at decent price during happy hour. Proletariat Pizza tastes good but there is very little sauce on the pizza and this has happened both times. I am unsure why this is the case but it does impact the taste. A little more sauce and this could be a pretty good pizza. read more

Brought home 2 pizzas. Inconsistent quality. Crust lacking flavor. Uneven and sparse distribution of toppings. All-in-all a soggy mess without the typical crunch and chew one would expect in a NY style pizza. The ricotta was delicious - but some slices had none. I've been looking over the pizza selections in the Burien area and based on the reviews in Yelp decided to check out the Proletariat Pizza (aka PP) as it's in close proximity to my new place and an alternative to fast food burgers and tacos. Anyway I was watching some Netflix and needed a pizza! This isn't the easiest place to spot from the street while driving as there's so much going on in the block in White Center and you need all eyes on the street as people are going back and forth on the street; safety is first priority. So, I went around the block and found they have a back alley entrance and some parking in the back; done deal! This is an eclectic place as you walk inside and there's at least 2 birthday parties going for the little ones and there's some coin operated game action. I've never seen a 25-30' table with a full blown birthday party going with there the kids and adults are perfectly happy and who cares about a little noise. They have a big carry out business and there's seating for walk-ins and they have a separate area with a bar. I ended up ordering me a classic 12" pizza and got me a IPA to drink while I was waiting for under $20 (that's cool). I was really impressed with the service and they came and delivered my hot pizza to the bar when it was done just about perfect timing for drinking a pint. Pizza was hot and tasty with a chewy crust and it had a good burnt crusty taste. This is a traditional American style pizza and not trendy or European. It's perfect for a kids party and watching Netflix. I'll be back. read more

It's ok. Better than Domino's and the crappy chains, and more expensive. Which is fine, don't eat that garbage. Delivery took over an hour, which is fine since they were upfront about it, but I found the crust to be lacking. It was limp and just not cooked long enough. Ingredients were ok (I had the Classic - pep, olives, shrooms) but the pepperoni was not the nice oily curly stuff you see in the pictures here. I wouldn't have bothered to to write about this, but I felt the same the first time I tried this pizza years ago. So, there you go. For the price ($40 for 18" delivery, salad + tip) that's probably the last time for me since there are way better options. Try Pagliacci or even Zeek's for better results. read more

This pizza is amazing as always me and my husband dine in about every week , since we have moved here proletariat has been the closest to New York pizza we can get even tho they don't even advertise New York style pizza. The service was the best service I've had in a while in Seattle, the server tall gentleman with the curls sounded like he was from New York just amazed me on how he lit up the whole dining room whenever a customer would walk in this will definitely be the only pizza spot we will be eating at :) read more

My partner and I ordered carryout from here about a year ago after moving to White Center. We both agreed that the pizza was overall really bland. We're surprised that the restaurant gets such high reviews, which we think has more to do with the fact that it has a cool name and is not a chain. I would recommend some of the other pizza places in the area, such as the Pizza Gallery in Burien or Breezytown on Beacon Hill (admittedly a little further out). Even the small operation inside Beer Star packed more flavor punch than Proletariat Pizza in our opinion. Staff were polite... although it took some waiting for them to acknowledge us. read more

Gave it a try for the 3rd time. Benefit of the doubt right. Each time has been disappointing. Some, not all, but some of the wait staff have that mentality that they hate serving people. Especially people with kids. My son has a dairy allergy, but kids love pizza so we make the best of it. I ordered the kids plate and ate the mozzarella. It looked great. Nice and full of olives and pineapple. The baguette was disgusting. And I love bread. It had a smell and taste like freezer burnt or something. I kindly asked for another because my son literally can only eat the bread and olives and pineapple. She was annoyed I asked for more and flippantly replied "we keep it in the refrigerator". When we got the next plate of bread it was the exact same, but we didn't say anything knowing it would fall on deaf ears. He loves bread and even said "momma this is weird bread" Earlier I asked if they had wines on tap and was met with a look as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears. I ended up with the only red they offer, and it tastes old. Havent you guys heard of the amazing wines on tap locally? Its an awesome thing, especially since its the name of your pizza joint. Figured it was connected. My bad. "Annoyed I asked about the wines. Annoyed we ordered more slices of pepperoni and she gave us cheese. Last time was the same. Reason for the bad review: the gentleman pulling dough/cutting pizzas used his phone (with one bare hand and one gloved hand) and then pulled dough without washing his hands. Not cool. Pizza was pretty good at this place. We got half the favorite and half the Hawaiian. The favorite was definitely better. It's weird cause the crust was different between the two. Overall though it was really delicious for thin crust, I usually don't like thin crust but I was able to tolerate this. Flavor was good! Only bad thing was service, not the best. This is a depressing review to write. Proletariat has been our go-to pizza place for nearly a decade. For most of that time, it's been exceptional. That said, the past three years have been rough. We excused so much for COVID, super long delivery delays, missed deliveries, poor quality but this weekend was the last straw. Given the problems we've had with delivery, we shifted to pick-up. That way we could at least know when we'd have pizza in hand. This weekend we placed a very simple order (One Large Ham&Egg with two extra eggs, and a House Salad). 20 minutes later we picked it up and headed home. When we got home, we realized we were given the "Special" Salad not the House Salad. If you've had both, you'd know they are nothing like each other. I know that sounds like a trivial miss but it was the last cut of many. Given that Zeek's pizza is now open, and actually three blocks closer, it's time to make the switch. Us two proles had shown up mid-afternoon on a Friday so parking was a cinch on the street, and there were basically no other customers. We were cheerfully greeted and our server was very friendly. Eventually we settled on the Zoe's pepperoni [a West Coast charcuterie company, I Googled] pizza which offered a hot crunchy crust, plenty of pepperoni, and warm gooey cheese. My first hot meal in Seattle made me feel welcome in the Emerald City, or rather Rat City, which seems to be the name for this area. You'll need a code for the bathrooms in the back. Today I walked in with a friend who is blind and their guide dog. We were both ravenous and I had to use the bathroom so when we walked in and the server approached us I asked where the bathroom was first. Her reply was that the bathroom was for customers only and that we couldn't stay there because they have an open kitchen so even service dogs are not allowed. What the &$#*?! First of all, there is no loophole for restaurants with "open kitchens" to deny service to folks with guide dogs, second of all the restaurant has a completely separate room that we could have gone to, or maybe we were going to get take out. We immediately left and went to another pizza place with a "GASP" open kitchen and had a lovely dinner. This place is much closer to my house and has good pizza, but until my friend is welcome there I'm never going back. read more

Was expecting great pizza based on all of the reviews and ended up being pretty disappointed. A friend and I both agreed the pizza lacked flavor (especially the tomato sauce) and also appeared undercooked. Each slice was pretty droopy when you picked it up and all of the toppings slid off. I am somewhat new to the West Seattle/White Center area, but all 3 times I've been here recently, while the pizza was hot and fresh, the service was really cold. I always feel like I'm annoying the servers just by being there and ordering. When I am looking for just a good classic slice of pizza, proletariat is one of the best options in the Seattle era for it. Its a very good New York style pizza, with the dough being very thin, with a good crust, the sauces has great flavor, and there are tons of different tops to chose from when you are ordering a whole pie. You can even do a half and half pie which is nice for getting every one what they want. For single slices the options are more limited, the slice of pepperoni or cheese is one of the best you can have in Seattle. The pizza comes out fairly quickly, and the service is super nice. There is also a good beer selection as well so its a great weekend hang out spot. read more

Proletariat has been one of my bookmarks on Yelp since 16th Avenue began to transition from pawn shops and tiendas to shops selling pies, crawfish by the pound, and Thai Iced Tea ice cream. Parking is limited to street parking, and this can be difficult. After all, White Center has undergone a major transformation, y'all. There's a local coffee shop next door and a Korean fried chicken joint around the corner. Parking can be scarce. Park far away and take a stroll through this newly gentrified and gentrifying neighborhood. Once you walk in, there is a sign to seat yourself. However, unless you walk up to the counter or make a trip to the bar, no one asks to take your order. Be aware that you may have to make yourself visible and flag a staff member down. My friends and I met here for our annual reunion. I happened to arrive during Happy Hour and snagged a large margherita pie for a fraction of the original menu price. The pizza was as large as the pizzas from Costco and fed four ravished women on a weeknight. Splotches of soft mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and thinly sliced tomatoes complemented the thin crust oh so well. I appreciated the shakers of red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the table, too. I would recommend Proletariat Pizza, especially during Happy Hour.
