After we walked in one of the waitresses promptly offered us a seat on the "outdoor patio". I use that term loosely; outdoor tent with tables on concrete would probably be more accurate. We ate here on a Saturday morning, not busy at all. Regular diner food. I asked for my sausage omelet well done, over done, no wetness. It came very under cooked, I only ate the sausage out of it. Also, the fact that there is a table near the bathroom (where we were seated) they should invest in putting a swinging door just to keep the bathroom and dining area separate. As a tourist in Lake George I decided to visit this diner with my husband who is a Lake George native. He remembered it before a fire that had destroyed the previous diner. We had lunch there, I had ordered a basic cheeseburger simple didn't ask for anything special. I ordered it to be well done. The cheeseburger was not cooked all the way through. It also had a very distinct taste and smell. The type of smell and taste of old expired meat, I didn't finish or touch my food after two bites. I typically do not comment or return food but the taste and smell made the cheeseburger inedible, but in this case I did. The waitress immediately started walking away and asked loudly to the nearby tables if their food tasted like expired meat. And said well no one's every complained. After that she walked away completely ignored my concern. When she brought us our receipt to go pay she said well tell the lady at the cash register maybe she'll take it off your tab. We did not ask the cashier to take anything off and we even tipped. Their staff should recognize that this might be a concern they should double check on because it could lead to food poisoning. read more

Don't listen to your GPS, it made me go down a private road BEHIND the diner, which was quite embarassing for all concerned (the owners of the residence nearby, I'm sure). Went here with my family for brunch this past Saturday and had an awful experience as soon as we came in. Small little old school diner, if arriving at the wrong time you could see a little wait before getting a table. Otherwise, the menu had a lot of different options to choose from but it was separated into breakfast, lunch, and dinner time zones. I ate my breakfast here after a few days' stay - I'd seen reviews and such, but if I'd known how wonderful this place is, I'd have braved the below-zero temperatures (even during the day!) to have breakfast, lunch and dinner! The place was busy, with some having to wait for only a couple of minutes (I sat at the counter), the staff was friendly, polite, funny (ha ha, not strange), and the food was perfect (an omelette and toast with hash browns - I know, but it's amazing how badly people can mess up any of those components!) We were looking for a good breakfast joint in the Lake George region while staying there for a week. It came as a recommendation from my parents who frequent here. I will say that I was very satisfied with what I got. It was a true breakfast in a nice diner-atmosphere. We went in late July, and in the early morning it was quite crowded. We had to wait about 10 minutes or so for a table. They do offer outside seating, but it rained the night before so it was still a little wet. However, upon seating it had this very nice 50's vibe to it. The meal was prepared fairly quick, but the taste was well above average. I had a Grand Slam which was more than enough. Eggs were done just right sunny side up, sausages were only okay, but bacon & pancakes were perfect. My wife had the special which had eggs benedict. Very well done. Handicap, Don't bother going! NOT handicap friendly, we were there Sunday July 8, First she asked us if he needed to bring it in? Like he rides it for fun, so when we said yes we were told my husband's scooter (19"wide by 4" long) would not fit in the Diner that we would have to leave it outside. My husband has MS and can walk a little with assistance but leaving the $1500.00 just outside was not happening. We were told there was no place to put it while we ate, so we left. We were at Scrappy's in Fort Ann which is a little smaller than this diner and they had no problem finding a place to keep it for the time we were eating. So if you are handicap with a scooter or wheelchair don't bother going to this diner. A walker might fit if it folds up and get some sensitivity training! read more

It's a very cute, retro diner with little jukeboxes at the booths. Their menu contains typical diner fare at reasonable prices. I had one of their specials: a breakfast burrito. My wife wanted to treat me to breakfast for my first Father's Day and we thought the diner looked very cute. We were staying at the hotel next door so we walked over with our infant daughter in her stroller . When we walked up the ramp to the door, a woman at the hostess stand opened the door and said over her shoulder "its huge, it's enormous" and immediately asked my wife if we would park the stroller outside or near the hostess stand. Surly we would trust her to watch it. It's just really big and takes up too much room. No pleasantries, no smile, now "happy father's day" . It really irked me , probably more because I felt like my my daughter or wife were somehow being insulted. ( rational or not. I'm going into your place of business to spend money. Make me feel welcome) I got more annoyed when I walked in and found that we could have parked 3 strollers abreast next to our booth and we were maybe the 3rd table that day (the place was empty when we arrived) . Having said that, we never had any intention of brining the stroller inside, but you would think I was trying to bring my dead dog into the place. Especially the way the staff avoided eye contact with us after we were seated. that was all very odd. I don't know if we broke some kind of lake George law by bringing our daughter out to eat.
