Pretty good overall! I tried this place after my workout and i think my only things to say about this shop is the price as well as showing only SOME of the menu on their walls/screens but also it couldve been just me. I was interested in trying proteinhouse with the intention of ordering a protein shake and on their big menus overhead, it didnt show any section on drinks as well as the smaller menus that are put on this glass wall/divider. I thought I was mistaken and that they just served food items. I was about to leave when i saw laminated menus on the counter by the cashier and that's when i saw that they did indeed sell protein shakes. I was shook by the prices. When i get protein shakes elsewhere, it's typically 5-7 dollars, so imagine my surprise when i see that it's double that! Anyways I ordered the Magic Mango protein shake and it was good!! I enjoyed the drink but idk if i'd wanna spend $11 every time i want a protein drink. This is definitely a place that i'd probably treat myself to every once in a while.

If you haven't eaten at the Protein House on Arden Way next to California Pizza, you need to. The food is awesome. My favorite is the Açaí berry Blast Bowl. They have awesone Bison burgers. Everything is organic and healthy ! The staff are friendly and always smiling! Let's support this new business in Sacramento!

The food here is AMAZING! I was so excited when I found that there is a healthy food spot like this in town! The fraps and coffees are super good. The steak breakfast burrito with egg whites, steak, cheese, and avocado was beyond amazing! They also have healthy sides like sweet potatoes. I look forward to trying all the other foods they have as well!

There is only street parking so it can be difficult to park and the restaurant does not have a parking lot. My friend wanted to try the matcha waffles so went to try it on a Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty crowded inside and all the seats were taken. They did have a good amount of outdoor seating which consisted of picnic tables for larger parties. It was overcast and cold so we were looking it for indoor seating but we ended up sitting outside. You go to the bar inside to order and then you are given a number and then a server brings your food out to your table. I went with 2 friends so I saved our table for us so it wouldn't get taken while they went to order for me. I ordered the short stack ube mochi pancakes which was only $6 for 2 pancakes which was so cheap! I was shocked at the price! If you want the full stack it is $12 which is still such a great deal. The pancakes came with strawberry and pineapple fruit topping, coconut shavings, and caramelized condensed milk syrup. The pancakes were chewy and soft and not too sweet and had good ube flavor. My fellow elite Yelp friend ordered the matcha waffles which was a large portion but she said the waffles lacked strong matcha flavor. I looked at the rest of their menu and wanted to try their savory Filipino dishes such as the loco moco. Overall, the ube pancakes are delicious and such a great deal! I want to go back to try the rest of their savory Filipino dishes next time!

During that time, they served me a glass of water and I quickly ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich - I had looked at the menu earlier - with a side of fruit. The sandwich was really great! They served the sandwich with the grilled, chicken breast, bacon, and BBQ sauce with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side. I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. I honestly left satisfied. This place really did live up to the recommendations and reputation it has. Our gym, Positive Impact Fitness always talks about this place and it was really worth it. I shall return in due time.

Luckily, today I finally went with a friend visiting from out of town and wanted a nice sit down breakfast/brunch option. We came by at 11am and while the patio was nearly completely full, we were able to get a table inside immediately. Orphan's interior is very upscale California quirky and makes me think of the eclectic designs found in places like Santa Cruz. Service was quick, friendly, and within minutes we had chilled waters and hot coffee in hand while we perused the menu. Recommendations I had seen for Orphan highlighted their French Toast along with their house-made rosemary bread and rosemary potatoes. My wife ordered the French Toast and it was delightful! Griddled exterior on the toast with a sweet custard-y center. The fruit puree in combination with fresh strawberries and blueberries helped to brighten the dish without adding any more sweetness so it felt very balanced yet delectable. My wife did not even opt to have it with maple syrup. For myself, I was deeply intrigued by the Savory Cakes, which were extremely fluffy buttermilk pancakes with bacon, jalapeños, and jack cheese folded in. I have made savory waffles in the past, but never thought about doing the same with pancakes. Orphan's Savory Cakes has inspired me to try my hand at the dish. These pancakes were probably some of the lightest, fluffiest pancakes I've had in years and the sweet, savory, and spicy flavors were enlightening! Add in topping the cakes with pure, maple syrup and you should be as close to heaven as I was devouring this stack. Our friend ordered the Rosemary Breakfast (but I forgot to take a picture as I was so infatuated with my Savory Cakes ) and I was able to try a bit of the house-made bread and potatoes. Rosemary in my opinion is a double-edged sword to use because it can easily take over a dish, but the team at Orphan have a deft hand and both the bread and potatoes have a great balance. While the bread was delicious, I cannot stop thinking about those potatoes and the absolute perfection that is the exterior crisping with the interior fluffiness. Now I know why everyone says to get the potatoes. I have future designs on their Grande Breakfast Burrito because there's no way it can't be good if it includes the rosemary potatoes All-in-all I know that Orphan will be on my shortlist of places to recommend to anyone coming in to Sac and I am excited for my next visit to try the burrito!

This establishment has been here for years and is always filled with patrons everyday. So what did we order. 1) basic breakfast: homemade sausage patty, 2 eggs, pancakes. The sausage patty was large had a nice flavor. Two eggs were a little too runny. Pancakes were good; fuffy, sweet, and nice size. 2) Bacon cheeseburger: very tasty juicy burger that came with all the appropriate fixins. the entire burger was covered with crispy bacon. it also arrived with a ton of hot fries. 3) Monday special: Homemade chicken enchiladas. this entree comes with two shredded chicken enchiladas covered in a mild sauce, basic refried beans, and seasoned spanish rice. Not the best but decent. 4) spinach salad: this entree looked fresh and inviting. fresh spinach leaves, covered with fresh strawberries, pieces of cold chicken, avocados slices, and real crispy bacon bits. dressing arrived on the side. very nice salad even with the cold chicken. 5) garden omelette: filled with veggies(spinach, bell peppers, onions, zucchini). my only complaint: slightly overcooked which makes a fuffy omelette into a somewhat tough scrambled egg omelette. This dish also comes with 2 large pancakes. there were a few little mishaps. it took some time before our wait staff took our order and even longer before our food arrived. The eggs were a little runny, omelette was a tad overcooked, and cold pieces of chicken in the salad. Hence just 3 stars.
