BEWARE BEWARE of this facility !! Specially if you plan on buying auctioned units at this facility either thru StorageTreasures or any other means. First time I won a lien unit at this facility was Sept 28, 2024. Everything came out good, the unit I bought was exactly the unit pictured in the auction site storagetreasures. Boxes and stuff exactly where it was on the picture, so I was satisfied with the auction. Then the facility had another auction that ended October 30, 2024 @ 11:00am. I won a unit that had boxes and totes that was stacked neatly on top of each other that was posted on storagetreasures site. When I got to the unit and stare at it for a bit I noticed that boxes have been moved and was too obvious that someone had already look at the stuff inside the unit and have probably taken stuff out of it which should not be done because it was a "lien" unit. Frank was the person who open the unit for me that day. I just didn't have the time to confront about the unit and it was just a cheap unit ($140) but getting a unit that was not supposed to be touched by anyone was a disappointment. I have bought several units from other facility and this is the first time this happened. I save pictures from auction site and compare it to the actual unit when opened, and this unit was very differently aranged compared to the photos. I really Hope the owner or someone who manages this particular facility investigates this but I doubt something will be done. Oh well a disappointment on my part but I do wish bad karma on the person(s) who did this. Karma will get you eventually. Just writing this so I can warn others that want to do business with this facility .. Will report to who ever I can so a fair auction experience for future buyers. I buy storage units for fun like a treassure hunt for me, then gives away most of the stuff I get .. If I do this for profits I'll probably be so pissed at this incident. read more

I paid my rent in full on time, as I always do, by automatic payment on January 2nd in the amount of $147. On January 5th, my husband went to the storage facility to put away all of our holiday decorations, the main reason we rent the unit all year. The elevator was broken and he was unable to access our 3rd floor unit. So, the decorations are being stored in our living room and garage for the next few weeks while we are not available to move them again, which means we can not park a car there. I called the storage facility that same day and left a message for the property manager and did not receive a return phone call. On January 10th, I contacted my credit card company and requested a refund for a portion of our rent for the time that we were not able to store our contents in the facility, in the amount of $100. On January 23rd, after researching, my credit card company agreed with me and issued a charge back in the amount of $100. Public Storage then applied this $100 charge to my account along with a $22.50 and claimed that I had not paid my rent that month, placing a lien on my unit and its contents. They also back dated it to January 1st, which is fraudulent, just untrue. I was notified of this online, via email, and postal mail with alarming statements saying my unit is about to go to auction. I went to the facility in person on January 24th and provided all of this same information. The property manager said she was new and would research the issue and call me back. As of January 28th, I have not received a return phone call and my property is under a lien, claiming I have not paid the rent for the month. I've filed a complaint with the CA DOJ, but I will probably have to pay the $122.50, hire movers to relocate our contents, and then file in small claims court to recover those costs plus court fees. Hopefully this review will prompt a response from the property and they will want to refund the $122.50 and restore access to the unit. read more

Wow looked on yelp and nothing but bad reviews and I am just another unsatisfied customer adding my negative experience with this trash storage facility. When I first opened my account the guy at the front desk was begging me to write a positive review for basic customer service and I felt uncomfortable with public storage thirst trapping me on the spot for a fake positive review. Very rude and prejudice towards people of color and it's extremely roach and rat infested. In addition there is nothing but tweakers roaming around the premises and drinking boos all day. if you want to keep your furniture safe and clean I recommend going to a mom and pop (no name brand) storage facility. read more

Sanitation and Cleanliness. I rented the storage and I only left my stuff overnight. I had to take them out. They have a really bad rat infestation. Staff advised to have everything covered if not the rats would go inside the units. There's droppings everywhere. The office smells like chemicals and the elevator stinks really bad like if someone peed inside. You have to hold your breath when using it. I don't recommend this place, it's not okay for them to rent you a storage knowing they have rats and cockroaches. You can really find a better place to store your belongings. Rats everywhere. I urge people not to use this location. If damage, Management will simply point you to insurance without any acceptance of responsibility. This is not the way to run a business. Similar to others, I now have to wait weeks for insurance and go through the tedious process of obtaining support for amounts paid. read more

The manager is super nice but this facility is disgusting! The homeless population has already trashed this newer facility and brought in all kinds of vermin. The place smells like a dirty hamster cage and there are rodent droppings everywhere! The foul smells you will smell (mainly urine and feces) will permeate your belongings and the rats will nest in your soft goods and cardboard boxes, totally unacceptable! This facility needs to be gutted and sanitized, shame on corporate for forcing their onsite staff to have to work in these unsanitary conditions! I hope someone sues them for hazardous working conditions, I was at the facility for less than a few hours and I already have breathing problems from the air quality here. Took a tour of the facility and decided to go ahead and rent out a unit. Everything was fine until the beginning of the year. They raised the rent 15 dollars. Yesterday (2/21/22) we decided to drop off some belongings to the unit and noticed RAT FECES in our unit. We notified the man in the office and he immediately cleaned out what he could of rat feces from our unit. He told us that there had been a couple complaints about rodents others units and said an exterminator had came out the day before. We decided it was best to take our belongings out of the unit. read more

Do not rent a space here right now!! I only had my stuff there for a few months and took my stuff out and now my apartment is infested with roaches!!! This place has really gone to shit! I first rented when it was Extra Space and that was amazing! But now that it's public storage there are homeless people living in every single unit and it is so freaking dirty and nasty. The elevator is stained and reeks! Looks like piss stains all over the walls! Anyways... Today I'm taking my stuff to my storage unit and it smelled like a dead body! There was little flies everywhere!!!! All over my stuff and flying around in the air. It's gross here I'm looking to leave. Do not recommend. Also the staff is never freaking available. I want and will get my money back! read more

Go with your gut and the other reviews, had some items stolen in the same manner as previous posts to where they were able to access my unit from the chicken wire fence that they use for a ceiling. Called and the manager was not emphatic and basically went into defense mode saying that it was impossible. You can tell from her tone she did not give a flying F and said I was out of luck bc I did not buy insurance...which I understand but the level of I don't care your shit got stolen speaks to new levels here. Issues below: 1. Smells like piss, bums and druggies in and out of this place. 2. They do not pro rate or give any refunds for partial months if you leave after your rent payment on the first. Basically if you paid on the first and leave on the 10th...you are not entitled to any $ back for the unused days. 3. Poor management who just don't give a sh!t. 4. The app makes it super easy and quick. You can come and go whenever you like and they are a pretty spacious. First time every renting a storage because sadly our house burned down a few weeks ago and been forced to hotels. So this storage has been a huge help during such a difficult time for me and my family and so far no complaints. I went to the one in Buena Park and the girl working in the front was very helpful and walked through the whole process on how it works and showed me exactly where my storage is located. Ever since Public Storage took over from Extra Space Storage this location has gone to shit. There is a constant smell lingering as well as a multitude of little flies. The elevators are dirty and don't seem to be cleaned, people leave their trash and piss right outside the door. The past month there have been a multitude of break-ins that Public Storage hasn't done anything about, as well as the automatic door that is supposed to secure the units with a code that has been broken and doesn't close. I wish this was the worst but I, myself, have witnessed sexual favors being performed by homeless people in the storage lockers... They raise the rent every 2 months, and will overcharge you only to leave you hanging from that point on as they don't refund nor prorate anything. This is not a storage locker, it is a pyramid scheme to steal all your money, because if any of your stuff gets stolen Public Storage knows of nothing as they don't have cameras in the hallway, only in their office. I was debating leaving a review because this place has taken enough of my time and money. I moved to this facility from another Buena Park storage company because of bad conditions and patrons from the previous facility. When I moved here in January 2021, it was Extra Space Storage, but Public Storage took over within a month. Hidden fees started popping up and I noticed a lot of people constantly moving in and out. I found out this was because of constant thefts into several units in the past 6 months. None of these were reported to anyone renting at the facility. Some not even reported to police. Eventually, the theif was able to gain access to my unit and stole almost $20,000 in items. As soon as I found out, I called police and the management of the facility. Public Storage takes ZERO responsibility for any break ins to their property, even if it is their fault completely. They refused to check cameras and let me know they only have cameras at the main gate and at elevators. So it's not even possible to track the thieves in the building. The roof of every upstairs unit has chicken wire roofing that the thieves cut and entered through. They jumped down a cut the lock. Then put the broken lock back in, so it looks secure, then came back over and over until everything was almost cleared out. They say they do lock checks every day multiple times, but the broken lock wasn't noticed until I finally came to get something. I understand that theft is always a possibility in these facilities, but the lack of empathy or even a lack of an apology was disrespectful. They provide zero security for our items that we pay good money to store and they take no responsibility for their facilities or renters. Manager, Mitch Meisner, ignored many of my calls to his office regarding fixing the roof after the break in, which was never fixed. Even 2 months after the burglary.  Every week for 2 months, I made a request for maintenance to fix this hole in the roof of my unit, so that nobody else could get in. Ibwas ignored and still had to pay full rent price for a unit that was not secure. This company knows that burglary is a huge risk and do not tell perspective renters. We moved out and found a new facility in the area recently and feel 100% safer already. I would recommend not renting here or if you are already renting, find another facility in the area. E Ei would never recommend Public Storage to anyone. They do not care about anything. I had 2 storage units, both units were broken into. One unit was completely ransacked and cleaned out. They didn't care. I was a few days late they but a lock on it and then they called me 3 times to tell my lock was on it. It wasn't my lock they didn't know whose lock it was I was locked out for 16 days. They would not reimburse me for those days and that's when the break-in happened. And the manager laughed and told me that was nonsense. Never happened. I moved my stuff out. And they want me to pay the rent. I don't think so. They say the homeless people who sleep in there, they can ask them to leave and that's it they can't patrol the whole place at one time. The police don't show anymore or you have to wait hours until they have time. We waited 4 hours they never showed. Don't use public storage the public takes what they want. read more
