Called on a Wednesday, they came out on a Thursday (on time). Thought I had rodents in my attic area (heard scratching and squeaking), but it ended up being a single bird. Matt left some rodent traps around just in case. The following Monday, Matt came back to inspect the rodent traps and there were no rodents. I had a major problem with fleas at my house in San Mateo. Keystone was awesome! At first they said they were really busy and couldn't come out for over a week but then was able to find an opening to get the treatment done the next day! The technician, James, was courteous and knowledgeable and treated our house and yard. After the treatment we had a problem where more fleas came out of a bush near our fence (which I didn't know about) and Keystone jumped right on it and has planned a second treatment (at no charge) to help us solve our problem. Great communication skills and they did a great job. I had a bad case of feral cat fleas infesting my backyard and called Keystone. They had a scheduling mishap on my appointment, but immediately apologized sincerely and profusely, and offered a discount as further apology. Another tech, Byron, came out the following day, listened carefully as I showed him the areas I needed him to focus on, and gave clear answers to my questions. He also apologized for the missed appointment. The invoice had notes detailing my description of the problem areas. So I feel like the company as a whole has good communication both internally and with the customer. And best of all the fleas are gone! Keystone's warranty is 30 days. I called Keystone after a quick Yelp Search. I had what I thought was a mouse problem in my home. I had seen one small mouse, and had also caught one. I wasn't sure where they were coming from, but could see that they were still around. I called a couple other companies from Yelp, and they all had voice mail. The receptionist at Keystone was incredibly nice and explained everything. They did 3 visits, all with the same rep. He was professional and very courteous. The first visit he did a inspection, and laid out traps. The second one he patched up a some spaces in the kitchen, under the dishwasher and in the garage. The third visit was just a wrap up and was only 2 minutes. Overall, they were really good, and it did get rid of the problem (3 weeks passed now). It was fairly pricey though for the time spent, and the type of tracks. They were the same ones we had picked up from home depot, they had just a lot more around the house. read more

We used Keystone a year or two ago to spray for ants and that experience was fine. When they came back in Feb, we called them out again. The ants were back by May and when I called the woman who answered wasn't too concerned that their first service didn't work. Her words - we offer a 30-day guarantee, we don't offer a lifetime service (three months = lifetime?). She offered to take $20 off the price for another visit. This would've been over $400 for ant spray in three months. I called Manor Pest instead, they had better pricing and much better customer service. Still annoyed that due to working with Keystone I've spent so much on ant control but happy to have found an alternative. read more

Unlike a few other places where you have to get an annual contract ( around 400-500 per year), this place can do a one time thing which last at least six months. Since the weather is starting to heat up in the bay area, I noticed a ton of ants outside my house, and some were making its way into my garage. Yuck!! I called Keystone right away before the problem got any worse and spoke with Dawn. This was the first time I've ever called a pest control company for anything so I had no idea what I needed to do. Dawn was very helpful and knowledgeable and talked me through the entire process from start to finish. I called on a Monday, and she had an available specialist at the time to come over, but I was in class, so had to wait until Wednesday for someone to swing by. James was over at my house right on time and he was very easy to talk to. Very knowledgeable and didn't mind me asking a million questions since I had safety concerns re: pest control and my toddler and dog. He told me some information about the two sprays he would be using, and even wrote the names down so I could google them later. The whole process took maybe about 45 minutes - including spraying the garage, the front yard, and our entire backyard. He was able to locate the ants nest (ick, I have chills just writing that), and he took care of that problem. I think he said it might take a few days for the ants to really go away, but within a few hours, they were all gone!! He also went above and beyond to help me. Our house has a crawl space, and the small entrance on the side was open because my husband haven't had the time to screw it back on. James was concerned that a raccoon or some other small animal could get in and create a bigger problem, so he closed it up for me. He was also able to identify a spider that I saw a year ago just from looking at a blurry iPhone photo. This guy really knows his stuff! My experience with Keystone is very limited, so I can't really justify giving anything above 3 stars. However, given the other glowing reviews on this page I'm well happy to contact them again in the future if any problems arise. ~ THE ISSUE ~ For the past couple days, my house became infested with this tiny brown looking bug. They don't bite, but they're pretty annoying. The first problem was that we've never seen this bug before so no one in our house knew what the heck they were. After some googling, I thought they were carpet beetles but I'm no entomologist so I wasn't positive. ~ MY EXPERIENCE ~ I called Keystone, who advised me to send over a photo of the bug to be identified. They got back to me and told me that it was a Cigarette Beetle, not a carpet beetle, which I'm grateful to them for (now I know what I'm dealing with). The only strange thing that made me lose a little faith is that the woman over the phone pretty much regurgitated information off a website. Literally she just read me a page off the website. I can't deny that Keystone were helpful because of the fact that they helped me identify the bug, but I hardly felt like I was talking to "bug experts". --- All in all, I do like Keystone and will be using them in the future (especially if the cigarette beetle fiasco can't be resolved myself). An additional positive is that I do appreciate they weren't hasty to make a house visit and take my money. But the fact that I was just read a page off a website really didn't sit well with my confidence in them and can't warrant anything above 3 stars. read more

Totally impressed with my experience with Keystone. I had both a wasp nest that needed to be removed and gophers in my lawn. Keystone was able to take care of both, and used a trap for the gopher, not poison which is dangerous to other animals. They offer a 30 day guarantee. We had a rodent problem recently after a house in my neighborhood was re roofed we assume. Once roof was removed to replace we noticed issues at our home 4 doors away. Service tech was Mike. He was excellent in finding the places where they could enter from the outside, which he fixed, set traps and came back on two occasions to remove the dead ones over a one week period. About a week after his last visit we discovered one more and he came back and put traps out. We are in the process of securing a doggie door and a dryer vent and then he will come and pick up traps for the last time. I called Keystone for an overwhelming ant problem at our house (I'm usually a pro at riding ants but this house is literally on top of an ant hill). I had seen them once before at our old residence when the owner had them come out for a spider problem and they did good work. I called and Mike quoted me a price. purcor recently acquired donavan's pest control. following this acquisition of donovan's pest control, there was a huge problem with invoices and collections and a complete chaos of the customer invoicing. it took multiple calls and hours to get invoicing straightened out. i suggest using other companies for pest control. an incredible headache for a simple pest service. read more

We were doing some routine cleaning around the house when we saw it ... mouse droppings, hidden in the corner behind the couch! I immediately called 3 places. The first place sounded good on paper, but could only fit us in 3 weeks out. I have young kids. I need this mouse gone now! The second place was Clark. That guy seemed more interested the monthly plan than to fix the mouse problem. The third place was Keystone. The lady that picked up the phone was very nice. She scheduled the appointment for a couple days later, scheduled all 3 visits at the same time, each 3 days apart. And the price was only half as much! Payment is due on the first visit. Warranty is for 6 months. The first visit was to inspect, set traps, fill in any holes, and write a report. He set box traps on the floor and glue traps way in the back of the counter (where my kids can't reach). They don't do poisons or any chemicals, which is good. He did a decent job, but he was a little laid back. He didn't check the attic until I asked, and then put two more traps up there. Also, he was nice enough to wear booties over his shoes, but did he have to wear them outside the house too? The second visit was to check the traps and add more if necessary. He did a good enough job but he forgot to check the attic traps. He confused us a bit by saying that it could take up to 30 days to be mouse-free. The third and final visit was 3 days later, not 30. The third visit was to check the traps again and collect them. We asked to keep the traps another week and they were ok with that. All in all, it was a good experience. The technician didn't seem super-knowledgeable about the work, but he knew enough to solve the problem. I'd recommend them. read more
