Super yummy family business! The chili was a perfect blend. I would definitely return and order the ribs again!

Great Cambodian restaurant in Long Beach! The food here was authentic and comforting. I visited…read morehere with a friend for a Saturday dinner and the restaurant wasn't too busy. My friend and I shared a variety of dishes: -Student Noodle: If chow mein and pad thai had a baby, this would be that dish. Without the fish sauce, the noodles tasted like chow mein. This dish overall was good! While I would still opt for pad thai, the noodle texture was good and I enjoyed the flavors. We got this with crispy pork and it was tasty, but I wish it was crispier. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. This was tasty and the fish was soft. It wasn't fishy at all. This paired well with the rice. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. Overall, a solid Cambodian restaurant that's worth checking out in the Long Beach area!

Fell madly in love with their student noodles at first bite so much that we had to get an extra order to go! Amazing beef skewers as well! We've never been before and it was nice. We really wanted to feast it up at the stalls but the lines were so long and it was so hot. Thankfully we found this amazing gem! This place is strictly CASH ONLY. So please come prepared. We came and it was a full mad house. Lines and parking was full I knew that's when we were going to get a great meal. Came with my mom and we DEF ordered more food than we can take on. My mom hasn't had Cambodian food in a while so we def made people wonder why we ordered so much lol Food was so savory and delicious. Seating is limited hopefully they can expand. I think they deserve it as a lot of people raved about their dishes. Service was friendly as well and short staffed due to the holiday. All patrons were really understanding of that. I would def come back again or wishes I wasn't so far so I can DoorDash this!

All kinds of mixed feelings after dining here…read more The good: The young man who took our order was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating! The student noodles with pork was delicious! The iced coffee was solid. The bad: The women who work here were a lot less friendly. The tables were so close to one another that we couldn't sit across from one another. Food also took an incredibly long time to come out even though we only ordered two dishes--student noodles and beef skewers. We also had to wave down a server just to follow up on the iced coffee that I ordered, especially since this was already after the food had finally arrived. Lastly, while it was good that they had their own parking lot, exiting through the almost too narrow alley was incredibly challenging in either direction. All in all, still remain torn about returning.

Service was kind and quick throughout lunch, and it definitely feels like a local Cambodian family run business. Interior is clean, and they have a parking lot although I can see it getting filled up. This is my first time trying Cambodian cuisine, and definitely left wanting more in the future! Rice is not free with their entree/shared items. I wish it were included with shared meat/vegetable items. Beef Lok Lak ($20, 9/10) - good portion size! Shared between four guys, and it felt like enough. - meet itself is super flavorful, chopped into small chunks, and serves a fantastic balance of savory yet sweet - served with sides of tomato, cucumber, lettuce, lemon, dipping salt and pepper Student Noodle ($15, 8/10) - delicious! This almost felt like a mix of Vietnamese Noodles + Thai Pad Thai. the Pad Thai comes from the savory/sweet flavor profile along with bean sprouts and green onions. They also provide a Syed sauce that is very similar to the Vietnamese, pungent flavor, dipping sauce for their eggrolls. - super great dish, Fantastic flavors Overall, really enjoyed the spot! Felt that the prices and portion sizes were reasonable, and a great introductory to Cambodian cuisine (kinda like Viet + Thai mix). Wish that rice were included with some of the entrée options. Parking can be a hit or miss, but service was on point.

The service was EXCELLENT, the decor was beautiful, there were lots of flowers and lavender lighting throughout the venue. With such an elaborate menu and a large group to feed, there was no delay in keeping the flow of dishes in and pick-up of finished dishes. This was a 8-course dinner, served family style. Large platters of food were brought to our table of 8 guests, which was better than a buffet with hundreds of people waiting in line. Course #1 - Khmer Cold Plate with cured meats, shrimp, and pickled veggies. Good combination of protein and veggies. Course #2 - Grilled Beef with Prahok dipping sauce. Good smokey and rich flavor. Course #3 - Crispy Quail - with Khmer seasoning. Very crunchy and different way to eat Quail. Course #4 - Fish soup in a savory broth. I think this should have been Course #2 before the beef entree. Course #5 - Whole fish with pineapple garnish on a bed of noodles. My personal favorite. Course #6 - Lobster claws with Chow Mein, Veggies and Garlic sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed this one! Course #7 - Pork Fried Rice with diced veggies. Rice was definitely a welcome addition to the meal. Course #8 - Taro dessert with Coconut Milk topping. Not overly sweet, a nice way to round out and end the fabulous meal. I am still in awe of the wonderful time we all had. There was a stage and dance floor on the north side of the dining room. Entertainment by a DJ who played a variety of traditional music and popular tunes as well. They do have a small parking lot with valet service. Bookmark this location for a dining experience with your family, friends and loved ones. Sincerely, Rosemary

The live entertainment (singers on stage, band playing, etc.) can be a pro and a con at the same time. It's nice to see and experience, but it also makes it hard to hear sometimes. I can't count the amount of times (over the years) where I couldn't hear my server or even my own family I was sitting with. Service is fair. Staff is usually friendly. Sometimes it can be hard to get their attention, even if the restaurant isn't super busy. Also, parking in the main lot is tight and almost never available.. There's additional parking on the side with an atrocious bump to get up to. Definitely not low car friendly.

We ordered the som law ma chew kreung - green sour soup with crunchy veggies, my fave and it was so tasty! They gave a side of fish sauce but you didn't need it. The marinate was flavorful as well I liked the bee We also ordered the rice spring rolls. They were packed so full by the time I got home they basically exploded. Ice is CHONKY. Amok is really good though. Order this one. I probably didn't order the best dishes they're known for but I don't see myself within the area for late night eats. A Cambodian family in the next table was criticizing their order too. Anyway, they do get a lot of ordered food to-go. A few men were playing dominoes in the middle of the restaurant and the guy in the next table had his feet up on a chair. Restroom was clean.

Unfortunately, one employee, Marisol, consistently provides poor customer service. She comes across as combative, takes no accountability for mistakes, and makes resolving simple issues unnecessarily difficult. My daughter called in our usual order for pickup. When she arrived, she immediately noticed something was wrong because the total was much lower than expected. When she politely brought it to Marisol's attention, instead of acknowledging that there may have been a mistake, Marisol insisted the order had never been placed that way. She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.
