The place is average. Hotpot is not too good. I did not like the soup base. It was a little bland. Although the variety for an AYCE is pretty decent, I just think it better for you to go to a legit hotpot place. My soup base was tom yum by the way. I tried my friend's soup base herbal also was also not that good. You would be better off at Little Sheep Mongolian Hotpot. The banchan looks sad. It was not even good. I don't remember how it tastes. I remember good delicious food like the banchan at the korean place in Fremont. However, not here! The marinade for the beef was not even that great. Gen marinades the beef and pork way better. You are better off going to Gen if you wan decent AYCE Korean BBQ. Although you can order everything on the tablet, the food sometimes come out really really slow. Portions can sometimes be tiny. The place is not even clean. We love how you can just order right off the tablet instead of trying to flag down a waiter. The food wasn't that bad but the line was long AF, so we went over to the bar to check out what they have. Surprisingly, they got a good variety of beers on the tap. The wait to the restaurant wasn't bad since it's still soft opening. Day 3 I think. They said 15-20 minutes wait, but it was less than 10 minutes. Granted, I arrived at 10 pm so people usually don't eat dinner that late. The cost is $24.99/person for AYCE KBBQ and additional $3 per person if you want hot pot, and it's worth it, but if you go now during soft opening, they give you $3 off!! So go try it!! :) The only thing truly slow about this place is the getting the server to turn on the touchscreen monitor so my party and I could start ordering the food from the screen. It's nice that I don't have to waive down the server like Gen since I could order from the touchscreen and the food comes out slowly. The tiny flaw I found was of the some food I ordered in the beginning never came out until the end of my meal, which I was too full to eat. I hope they fix this kink out when it gets really busy. For the KBBQ, the three types of meat that's worth it were the galbi, beef tongue and beef brisket. The marinating and meat quality are not as tasty as Gen, but there's more options to choose from and there isn't a crazy waiting line!! There were other meat dishes that were written in Korean and I couldn't fiqured them all out, but it was something with pork fingers, beef intestine and I'm not interested in those. It's not my cup of tea, but maybe for others. I hope they have those writing in English so people like me can read -.- And for the hot pot, I love the taiwanese flavor broth. It reminded me of wuji Mala house on Hostetter, but I don't have to pay $20 for such a tiny portion with minimal meat and cheap veggies like cabbage! There's 7 types of broth so if you don't like spicy, you can get miso, which is bland in my opinion, but there's a sauce bar with 20 different sauces that you can easily fix to alter your flavor. The unlimited seafood (shrimps, clams, mussels, squid, oysters, fish cakes, meatballs, imitation crabs), meat (thin sliced beef, lamb, pork, chicken, meatballs) and veggies/noodles (different types of mushroom, corn, cabbage, other veggies, udon, ramen, vermicelli, rice) are pretty good. This place definitely has way more varieties than some of the AYCE hot pot restaurants like hot pot city. I'd definitely come back and order more seafood and meat from here. Overall, this place has more potential than Gen. I hope they keep up with the quality as I know over time, quality goes down hill and that is why all the previous owners for AYCE like yummy, yum...etc were closed. 4 stars for now since it's still soft opening. I went here on two occasions: one for lunch and one for dinner. For lunch, we got both the hotpot and kbbq and for dinner, we just got the kbbq. Lunch: it had less variety, but it still had beef fingers which are my absolute favorite! The hot pot (I got miso) was delicious with the udon and added meats! I would definitely come back for lunch. Dinner: the wait was pretty long, and we got BBQ only because hotpot was an added 4 dollars I believe which would be about 28 dollars - pretty expensive! There was a larger variety and the food came out faster than Gen! It was great to see this even if the place was packed. At other places, our orders wouldn't show up or it showed up pretty late, but with QPOT, it showed up promptly even when it was packed. Only one time did our order of short ribs not show up, but our server, John was on top of it! My two servers were amazing. The one at lunch (I forgot his name) showed us his secret sauce which was delicious. And poor John, even though he seemed really busy, never neglected us! Thanks John! This place is so bomb. I don't know why it has 3.5 stars averaged out. AYCE Korean bbq AND hotpot?! Yes. It was so worth it. On top of some tasty food, the service was great! It's super easy to order through the tablet because you just click whichever meats/hotpot goodies you want, and a server comes by to drop everything off shortly after. There were a few times where our rice and brisket plates didn't show until we mentioned it to a server, but other than that I would definitely come back to this place. And don't forget the cheese corn! It goes awesome with the beef. The wait can get pretty long, so I showed up shortly after they had re-opened for dinner. I only waited 30 mins for a table for 5 on Memorial Day. By the time I left around 8, there was a big ol crowd waiting to get seated. Bottom line: surprisingly good quality hot pot and Korean bbq, great and efficient service at a great value for this AYCE place. Food: great selection for both hot pot and Korean bbq with lots of tasty meats and seafood. Quality was all pretty good (the one slight exception was the kalbi which was pretty fatty but still tasty). Good portions too so you don't have to order each too many times. Service: we got there around 4 and despite tons of tables Open, they had us wait at first as they had shift change and not enough servers-i think they probably realized that wasn't a great situation so I think a server stepped in and filled in for about 15-20 min before another took over- aside from that initial issue, service was friendly and food comes out efficiently-the tablet ordering system seemed to work well. Came here after a spartan race in frisco with friends and was craving Korean and decided to try this new place close to home. To start off this place was just amazingly organized right. The portions of the sides were small but that why they're called sides right? Haha I've been to a lot of Korean places and they usually either give way too much or way too less but q pot is just in a right portion scale. Second of all, I love the idea of combining the hot pot Shabu style with the Korean bbq grill. The selection was awesome not too overwhelming. And their menu is on a tablet therefore you won't really need a waiter to take your order it's like a direct order to their kitchen. Our server Walter was great But also another server I believe her name was MY MAI did an amazing job and she was very attentive and helpful. I like this place I personally like the pork cheek bc it just melts in your mouth! And I also recommend the Taiwanese spicy broth. Overall! You've been warned, try to go there during weekdays and you might be able to avoid this issue. Anyhoo, we only did KBBQ because it was too hot to do hot pot but it looked pretty cool since they have individual set ups for hot pot (one small pot per person). Yesterday was my 2nd time at Q-Pot and it was just as good as the first time. My bf and I got KBBQ and Hot Pot and were painfully full at the end. We are obsessed with KBBQ in Sacramento but no place in Sac compares to here. The brisket and beef belly here is sooo fire. Premium steak and galbi was also good too. I definitely enjoyed the Hot pot more and my favorites are the seafood soup, spicy kimchi, and miso soup. They have so many great hot pot options and I was sooo happy they had my favoriteee enoki mushrooms! Q Pot is a combination of both Korean barbeque and hot pot, so now, instead of having to choose between the two, you can just come here. This place is rather popular considering it just recently opened. We came around 5:45 p.m. and got seated around 6:30 p.m. The wait to me wasn't bad because I anticipated it, but would be aware of this if you are coming. When we got seated down, the waiter explained the ordering process. You could choose between getting Korean barbeque or hot pot only or you could get both. If you only chose one, you would pay $25, but if any one person on the table got both, everyone would pay $28. So, of course you would either all want one or all get both. We decided to get both the Korean barbeque and hot pot option. If you choose the hot pot option, they let you choose what type of soup base you want. I got the kimchi soup base and would highly recommend. The miso soup base is a little too salty, the healthy herb one smelled a lot like Chinese medicine, and the pickled one is alright. To order, they have a screen where you select which foods you want. A lot of the options are for meats and they have a few dishes that are not for Korean barbeque or hot pot. Their ordering system lets you order a number of dishes equal to the number of people you have at your table. So, if you come with four people, you can order up to four dishes at a time. Then, you must wait a few minutes before ordering again. For Korean barbeque meats, you can only order every 3 minutes, while for hot pot, you can order after just a minute. I thought this process was pretty good. I feel that at Korean barbeque and hot pot places, you usually have to flag down the waiter and that takes up a lot of time, but here you just send in your order and they will bring it out for you. The serving time was fast too. Within minutes of us ordering, someone came by to drop off our food. I would say that the meat portions are smaller, but you can always just order more since it is all you can eat. Also, they have a sauce bar for the meats, so you can go there and make your own sauce. Overall, the meats are good and I would advise people to just get the meats. We got some of the other dishes like japchae and their rice cakes, but these weren't that good. Honestly, wish I had saved more of my stomach to eat more meat. You can't go wrong with their hot pot though. Felt that their hot pot was better. Their fish balls were really good too. They made them so that their fish balls had meat inside, which made it taste really good. I do have some small complaints, though. As a Korean barbeque place, I felt they were lacking in a lot of key elements. Their side dishes were rather lacking and in extremely small portions. Their kimchi was so sour I didn't even bother trying to ask for more. However, their potato side dishes were good. In addition, they didn't have the chadol sauce that I've seen at a lot of other Korean barbeque places I've been to. That was the sauce I was looking forward to getting with my meat, but I was disappointed they didn't have it. However, their sauce selection is pretty good and you can mix your own sauces. I would recommend the sweet and spicy one. They also didn't have rice paper, which was disappointing. Also, sometimes, their service was bad. Most of the time, the food came out fast, but for the last few meats, the food came out really late. At that point, we just canceled the order because it was taking too long. Also, they have a time limit for eating, which is 2 hours. This was plenty of time, but just interesting that they put a time limit. I guess this gets people out faster so they can get more customers. Overall, I did enjoy the experience. It was pretty exciting to try their ordering system and having Korean barbeque and hot pot at the same time was nice. However, I would definitely just order meats next time. read more

This might be my new favorite spot for KBBQ. Just sucks that's it's all the way in San Jose and I'm in San Francisco. I love how you can order with a built in tablet on the wall. The servers come by frequently to refill your water glasses. My favorite part is the sauce bar. Unlike other places that have a set display of sauces, with this place you can pour your own sauce into your own saucer. The meat quality is really good, the food taste great and service is fast. I came during soft opening, so hot pot was automatically included, but even though it's only $3 extra for it now, I say save your stomach for the kbbq! Lots of choices of meats, here. I like that they have a sauce bar, so you constantly make new concoctions. It's also cool that you can order all your food via iPad, but they get a backed up in the kitchen pretty easily (although...how hard should his be? They're serving all raw meat and veg...I don't really get why it should take this long to prep). The servers are super nice, too. You might just fall head over heels in this place. Not for the food, but on the oily, slippery floors. Auxiliary details aside, the concept here is enticing but nothing revolutionary. A personal hot-pot for everyone at the table, if you so desire, and a large gas grill to barbecue your meats. The selection of items for hot potting and Korean BBQ are not as expansive as if you went to, say, a specialized hot pot or specialized KBBQ restaurant. Certainly, there is enough variety to keep you busy. For me, the quality will not be bringing me back; the banchan is extremely mediocre and the meats are so-so. I will give credit where credit is due: the iPad ordering system is smart and streamlines the delivery process. No more flagging down your waiter! And surprisingly, the pea sprouts are very fresh, so get your fill's worth if you care to not have the meat sweats later. $31 per person, FYI. read more

Service was top notch, they have a variety of meat options available and of good quality, and hot pot was delicious. The tables here are huge and you have plenty of room on the table for meats and other side dishes, unlike Gen. I think the use of a tablet ordering system is great also. Customers don't have to flag down the servers all the time. Also you can keep track of what you ordered. Giving this place 4 stars for good food and excellent service! The only things they need to improve on are... maybe the seat comfort. The booth seats were kind of low for the table. Also when it gets busy your orders do get backed up. Maybe it might be better to increase the number of orders you can put in at a time (currently it's 4 at a time until you can order again in 10 mins), since the portions are small anyway. I really don't think Q Pot is particularly bad, but I'll go through why I don't think I'll come back. Disclaimer: It's definitely worth coming at least once, for the experience of it all! FOOD: 3/5 It's really just average. Wasn't awestruck by it. The issue with Q Pot is that there's TOO much going on, and you can't enjoy both KBBQ and hot pot, and it feels kind of chaotic, from a personal standpoint. PRICE: 3/5 It's a pretty hefty bill. If you want the full KBBQ + hot pot experience it's $30+ per person, so it's definitely a special occasion meal. SERVICE: 4/5 The staff is really kind and helpful when walking you through, and dishes come really quickly! It's still hands off though, so how much can I really say about it? In sum, worth trying. Probably won't be back b/c it's just too chaotic to have AYCE KBBQ AND hot pot. And it's pricey. read more
